Relax and Unwind with Illo Sleep #Review

 Y'all

Sorry I have not ben around much lately - but man... LIFE!  Long story short - Broxton got Strep back in December - then the next week he had the flu.  Then Savannah and I got strep - then Matt got the flu... Oh, but let's not leave Broxton out - Strep had to come back to see him...  Then, he has basically had strep off and on since - so basically mid December until March- strep over and over. The last doctor visit was determined - TONSIL REMOVAL..  HE IS 17 y'all!   As we all know, surgery is never fun - but tonsil removal for a 17 year old - yeah, he isn't too happy with me.  Let me just throw fuel on the fire - because I lined it up for his healing week of no school or anything to be over spring break - since he has missed so much school already.  MOM OF THE YEAR HERE - NO COMPETITION!!!!

All of that to tell you about one of the COOLEST products I have seen lately.  I received an email introducing me to a few new to me products.  I know how much my kiddo's love their black out curtains, so when I saw this " sleep pillow" I wanted to take a peek to see what it was about.
Introducing - the ILLO PILLOW.  This is more than just a pillow.  More than just a sleep mask.  It is wonderful!  While Broxton was sick, there were several times I would go in his room to check on him and see that he had a pillow covering his eyes and I got to thinking that this might be something worth looking into for him.  Let's be honest, most of the sleep masks I have seen have been more geared to women, so I gave up on that route.  Well, as I am checking out the Illo site, here comes Savannah looking to see what has my attention and she was like Mama, I need one of those too!!!  I just kind of laughed and kept reading, but then I got to thinking... this would be great for car trips when I take her to see her dad... so yeah, maybe they did both need one.

Lucky for me, I was sent 2 - you should have seen how quickly both were to try them on and test them out.  I will say, they are a "one size" so I was a bit curious - he is a 17 year old boy and she is a 10 year old girl... but they fit both great!  The material is soft and cooling... I was wondering with it being weighted how that would work as far as temperature, but no one has complained yet.  The pillow fits perfectly over their head, with the design to not cover the nose to allow comfortable sleep.

Both kids have enjoyed them.  But I will tell you - I have noticed that while they put them on to fall asleep, when I go to check on them later (yes I will always check on my babies while they sleep in this house!) They have both always managed to have taken them off in their sleep.  I have asked both why and neither can recall doing it.  I guess the pillow helps them to calm down/ shut down their racing mind and relax.. but at some point they take them off and continue to sleep.  It doesn't matter to me, as the pillow does the job intended, but I thought it was funny.  Matt snuck a pillow to try one night and same thing - at some point in the night, no longer on him, but beside him!  Crazy.

When Broxton was in post op after his surgery, he kept putting a pillow on his eyes to try and block out the light - I thought - MOM FAIL, this would have been a perfect time to bring the illo - then Savannah pipes in and says exactly what I was thinking... LESSON LEARNED!!!!

So- if you have a hard time falling asleep...or you travel often and need to rest - or if you think this looks cool and you want to try it out - Head on over to the illo sleep site and order for yourself. They had a 10% off code up on the site, so great time to get one!!!!
