Halloween is ALMOST here! Do you have your Hershey's?!

Image
Okay, I did NOT even realize how close Halloween was until I spoke with a friend discussing it today... First of all, it is on Sunday Night this year... So, what night do the kiddies go trick or treating? Friday? Saturday? I do not think they will go Sunday, school is Monday morning.. Either way.......... Have you stocked up on all the goodies to give out!? I hope you made sure to get some YUMMY stuff! I bought ONE bag... I knew if I had lots of candy early that we would eat it all before Halloween got here. I figured buy one now and if need be, buy more closer to time! So far, so good... Neither one of us has opened the bag... But, things, yep... They are a changin !!!! :) I opened up a box full of Yummy Hershey's candy and I can tell you... They will not be closed by the end of today!!!! Did you know that : More than 50% of adults enjoy dressing up for the holiday? 30% of Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup, Kit Kat and Milk Chocolate Bar lovers will be a vampire, witch or monster. 41...

The Step-Tween Survival Guide - Book Review

Image
Day 4 on the Hurry Up the Holidays List!!!! The Step-Tween Survival Guide by Lisa Cohn and Debbie Glasser , PH.D . is just the type of book that I was trying to tell you that Free Spirit Publishing publishes. I originally got it with the thought to give it to my stepsons, but once reading it.... I feel that this is more for a new step-family. With that in mind, I want to tell you about this... and then one lucky reader will win it for themselves!!! The one thing I really did like in this is that there are 11 Chapters and with each chapter is a quiz. No, not a typical quiz to see if you were really paying attention, but a quiz to see what you would do if you were in the same situation. Speaking of situations... It also has several sections that help to tell you what might work better, in the situation at hand. Besides being a basic book that is text-book like, this one is broken down so that you can read as much, or as little, as you want at a time. They even put some sections in t...

Whish Body - Review

Image
Hurry Up the Holidays - Day 3 !!! Don't you like to be pampered? Have you ever heard of Whish Body ? I have!!! I was sent a couple things to review and I am so glad to be able to tell you about them! With the holidays getting closer and closer, I want you to know of several companies that I am just learning about... and whish is one of them!!! Whish was created by a wife " whishing " she had the same products available to her for shaving as her husband did... Without the smell! :) Whish has several product lines that are sure to please and pamper anyone on your list! I actually emailed to see if they had any scents that were not so feminine... and I was able to review (well, Marc too!) two of their products. First: ( a less feminine scent) The f lawless ingrown hair serum . You know I have told you before of Marc shaving his head. He does get the occasional case of an ingrown hair... He has not used it enough for me to notice anything... Now, I have used it... and I ...

Aloha Friday - # 57

Image
Welcome to this week’s edition of Aloha Friday. In Hawaii, Aloha Friday is the day that we take it easy and look forward to the weekend. So I thought that on Fridays I would take it easy on posting, too. My question this week - What show are you considering a must see right now? My answer - Raising Hope! That show is soooo funny! And of course, Hells Kitchen

Real Kids, Real Stories, Real Change - Book Review

Image
Day Two of my Hurry Up the Holidays posts is going to be about a great book!! Real Kids, Real Stories, Real Change by Garth Sundem is a book that I believe should be in all libraries! This book takes everyday kids, from ALL over the world and tells their story and how they made a difference. In today's world, I think that the younger generation tends to think that their voices are small and will not make a difference, but with the help of this book, I think it might start to change. This book takes us all over the world, from the USA to Vietnam... China to Pakistan... There are no borders with the difference that young kids can make! Some kids worked to make a change for their environment. There are even kids who Stand up for Themselves, as well as help others. (With all the bullying today, maybe this should be read in the classrooms!) I especially liked the section talking about "KIDS OVERCOMING CHALLENGES." (This section even tells the story of Alex's Lemonade st...

Hurry Up! Review & Giveaway

Image
The Holidays are getting closer and closer! Some may want the days leading up to them to "Hurry Up!" So, with that in mind... I want to kick things off with a pretty cool giveaway!!!!!!! Hurry Up! The Dice Game is kicking things off for us... Check back daily to see what is in store!! Hurry Up! The Dice Game, by Random Line is a hit around here already! True enough, Marc and I did not follow the directions, exactly as we were supposed to, but that was because I did not read them all the way! In our defense, we just wanted to see how much fun it would be to prepare for when the boys are here again! (Note, it will be a big hit! I can see it already!!) This game is super fun and as the name says... Hurry Up!!!! You have 6 die and 6 challenges... One dice is blue... and that adds for lots of fun!!! You only have 30 seconds to complete the challenge... and you might think that 30 seconds is a long time, but in actuality, it is NOT as long as you need it for some challenge!!!!...

365 Diapers - Review

Image
Before Broxton was born, we never really talked about diapers much... I just figured we would just "go with it." We actually got several brands as gifts, so I figured based on that... We would decide then. Marc had always used a certain brand with his other boys.. and they just did not cut it with me! (Hey, he was deploying anyways... so I would be the one buying them!) Well, I have one that I always use and I have not tried any other... Until now... I recently reviewed the brand new version of the 365 Everyday Value Baby Diaper. I was unsure if I would like them or not... and I was quite surprised. I did like that they are solid white... I liked that for if I wanted Broxton to wear light colored shorts/pants, it would not show a design through the material. (That was a catch 22 though, because I also like the ones with pictures on them, as it makes them fun and more for little ones!) I also liked the "accordion" fastener that seemed to keep the diaper a bit more...
