What would you call them?

Let me tell you a story that had me laughing the other day... The NEW NIKE'S  Long story short, Broxton has had in his mind he really "NEEDED" a pair of Nike's.  He got a pair from my parents as an early birthday gift.  Big thanks to Stride Rite for having a 50% off sale!!!!   He wore them that night and the next morning he was still talking about them excited to wear them to church...  That is when it happened...  He walked in to Savannah's room (still talking about his Nike's) and then was so excited to see Savannah!  He yells out... "LOOK AT HER SHOES!!!! SHE IS WEARING PILGRIM SHOES!" The PILGRIM SHOES

Our Version of SNOW

If you remember, we had a bad time with ICE in a previous winter... Well, ever since that disaster, Atlanta has tried to be cautious.  Some people (especially those further up North) like to make fun of us, but lets be honest... If you are not prepared for it, these "winter storms" can be pretty bad.  This year, they took no chance. Yes, it is funny, but I am NOT making fun.  I will always take the safe way when it involves my children!   My mom was here to visit and was planning on leaving Friday afternoon.  She was even going to surprise Broxton and have lunch with him at school. THEN. THURSDAY. NIGHT. HAPPENED. I received 2 text messages (one from school, one from county)  I received 2 calls on my cell, (again city and county) I received a call on the home phone and then 4 emails. School was going to be closing 2 hours early in preparation for the storm.  Yes, it was a bit excessive, but at least they were prepared and letting parents know in ple...

Introducing...

Image
Yesterday I told you the sad news of the summer... and I told you to come back today to hear the happiest news of it all.  If you follow me on Instagram, you already know, but if not... Savannah is here!!! Through out the summer, we had many issues to deal with, but at the same time,  I was enjoying being pregnant.   Marc and I had presumed we were done having children.  We had let "nature take its course" and nothing had happened... I was a bit sad, as I did not realize with Broxton that he was not only the first for everything, he appeared to be the only and last too.  I will admit that I was a bit sad.  I had totally thought that we would have more than one, so to look back and realize that while I was enjoying the firsts of everything going through being pregnant,  I would not get to experience it again.  Then, it all changed.  I was pregnant and would get to experience it all again.  We knew that this time around would be the last,...

Let's Make A Homeless Animal House

Image
I love this kid!   He decided he wanted to take part of his rock collection and extra pieces of wood and "needed" to make a "homeless animal house" for the birds / squirrels and chipmunks!

He Makes Me Laugh #KidsSay

Image
I love how he thinks!   He told me he wanted "Mustache Chips" when he wanted these!

Time for Smores!

Image
This boy!  He wanted smores... but then said "no chocolate or graham crackers!"  I told him that he meant he just wanted a roasted (AKA BURNT) Marshmallow!

Allman Brothers #OutoftheMouthofBabes

I love the things that comes out of the mouth of littles!   Broxton grabbed these and decided to tell me that he had the "Almond Brothers!"

W/W - Where does the time go?

Image
It is WEDNESDAY!!!!  Today my sweet boy is 6.  Where did the time go????  Happy Birthday sweet boy!   This is when he had to clean the windows, since he had made a mess on the windows.    Drinking Root Beer out of a glass bottle.  He thought it was the coolest thing!

Carving Pumpkins and #MakingMemories - That is what it is all about!

Image
I thought it would be nice to post a few pictures from what has been going on around here lately...  Between volunteering at the school and then home life, it is busy busy, but I would not trade it for the world!  I was looking back at some of the photo's of the last few months and this cracked me up... I am not sure if I ever admitted my secret... so I am going to tell you now... You have to promise not to tell anyone, it will be just between us, okay? The secret? My husband has a secret hidden talent... He LOVES carving pumpkins and he is really good at it!   So, once it gets close to halloween, we go get a pumpkin...  He looks and looks and finds the perfect one for what he has in mind... Then, we get home and he gets to working... Same thing each year, Broxton wants to help.. but he is for real serious about this.... So... This year, I went back to the store and bought pumpkins for Broxton and the big brother...  B watching daddy carve the pump...

Over the summer, I was able to let Broxton experience something pretty neat.   We had recently seen Planes - Fire and Rescue, so he was still all excited about seeing Dusty CropHopper on the big screen again... but then my dad A.K.A. "Papa"  was able to allow Broxton (and one of his big brothers) to have a summer to remember!!!!! In Albany, Georgia, there is a company there that has been around for over 40 years, THRUSH AIRCRAFT ... and they specialize in making agricultural aircraft  A.K.A. Crop Dusters a.k.a. other "Dusty CropHoppers" for those of you with younger children!!!   When we walked in, I am not really sure what I was expecting to see, but I was blown away with being impressed, that was for certain! There was this huge hangar/warehouse whatever you want to call it that had the assembly lineS going producing different things, but we just sort of walked by there... That was when we entered the area that made Broxton's face light up!  I thought there ...

Dreaming of that Home Run

As I mentioned, Summer has been BUSY for us! But, we love it!   I did want to share a few highlights from the end of the school year / start of summer. Broxton had his last day of preschool.... Yep, Mama teared up a bit... I did not cry as hard as I thought I would, but I think it was because I was blessed with my phone ringing right as I walked out and that stopped the tears from flowing.  It is so hard to imagine that he has just finished preschool and that my little one will be starting Kindergarten in the new year! Where does the time go?  Mama's with little ones - take note... IT FLIES!   Broxton walking in on the last day of school.   I thought it was so cute... They actually had a preschool graduation.  They made the kids shirts and that was their graduation outfit... Then, they sang a couple of songs and then they were presented with a "certificate" for graduation!   I was a bit emotional then, but it got me when we heard around fifty 4...

Opinions expressed are my own and are NOT influenced by monetary compensation. Remember when I told you that we went to LegoLand Discovery Center? Well...  I also told you that I was going to share with you the photos of the Star Wars characters that Broxton met... He was excited to meet Darth Maul... This is one of the LDC staff.  But check out that light saber!!!  Then, he met the Jedi's and he loved seeing them and their light sabers!!!  All of a sudden, Storm Troopers entered the place!!!  He was THRILLED to see them, since he was a Storm Trooper for Halloween!!! There were a couple of different ones, but don't ask me.. I have NO Star Wars Knowledge! But, I do know that we spotted 2 of them riding on one of the rides!!!  Broxton thought it...

Art Park

Image
A few weeks ago, we went back to Albany (Georgia) and while there, I said I wanted to go and check out our "Art Park."  I had heard about it, but was really unsure what it was... From what I gathered, anyone (and I mean, anyone) can go in there and do any form of "art." The open air "art park." Up close, I did not notice that it was a girl.. I just saw lots of flowers...     But, once the photo was taken, it was all clear to me!!!! Broxton was not really sure what to expect! Just another form of "art" in the park! Wasn't really sure what this was...    I thought this was pretty neat...   and sweet!  I think they are supposed to go and paint over it, to make clean canvas for people to go and express themselves... I can not wait to go back and see what it looks like next time!!!! Do you have anything like this where you live?

Little Miss Layla W/W

Image
I know it has been a bit, but I still wanted to introduce Little Miss Layla to you all...  My brother and his wife had a baby...  I was so excited that I got to go down and see them. I did not get many decent pictures, as Layla was NOT into being photographed that day... But, I did want to share... LOVE HER!!!
