If you follow me on Instagram, you know that we were recently in New Orleans for Mardi Gras. I was a first timer and let me tell you, it was so much fun. Let me clear up one thing now...  I had Savannah (1) and Broxton  (8) and it was totally okay.  Mardi Gras isn't just what you see on TV.  We walked through the Quarter (during the day) and it was fine too.  I think there are some things that are best left for the older crowd, but it was great for kids and mine weren't the only ones there, just so everyone knows.   Broxton was so excited to see that sign!!! Heads up... They have these carts ALL OVER the place before the parades.  I was surprised they didn't try pushing it more on the kids, but they were there... and it was hard to miss ALL OF THEM.   We managed to get to see several parades.  It was neat, you wait and wait and wait...  then their cable truck comes through with a big pole.  I was told it was to make...

Well...  I also told you that I was going to share with you the photos of the Star Wars characters that Broxton met... He was excited to meet Darth Maul... This is one of the LDC staff.  But check out that light saber!!!  Then, he met the Jedi's and he loved seeing them and their light sabers!!!  All of a sudden, Storm Troopers entered the place!!!  He was THRILLED to see them, since he was a Storm Trooper for Halloween!!! There were a couple of different ones, but don't ask me.. I have NO Star Wars Knowledge! But, I do know that we spotted 2 of them riding on one of the rides!!!  Broxton thought it...

We have this place near my parents home town... Kids go there on school trips, we stop there for delicious boiled peanuts...   and also photo opportunities! I do believe that Broxton has gone each year... This year, we sort of dropped the ball.. We planned on going, but never made it, well, I mean we did not make it for the photo's.   We did stop once, but it was just for a minute and Broxton was not dressed the way I would have liked for photos... but he had fun and the memories continue!!! Had I not had the other issues going on, we would have been able to go for the photos I wanted!!! Either way, I still got pictures, so the tradition continues!!!

So, when we first bought our house, we noticed we had a couple of dead tree's on the property.   We had plans to get them removed, over time...  but then....  We had a visit from Code Enforcement... Letting us know that one of our neighbors happened to call and tell them that we were breaking the law.  (We are first time homeowners, so we did not know... nor did we expect this new expense so soon after moving in.)  Well, they told us that we had 10 days to get this removed, or we would have to go to court. Obviously, we called and had the trees removed.   We were talking to Broxton about how they would be coming to remove the trees.  He said that a Beaver was going to be getting the trees.  We told him that they would come and cut the tree down and then it would go through a wood chipper.  Once again, he was arguing that it would be a Beaver...  They came and immediately got right to work.  No wasting time here, they we...

My blogger friend Alissa at Planet of the Apels has blogged numerous times about the Lowes Build and Grow events. They take their boys there and we decided to check it out... It is basically a fun time for the kids and their parent (or other guardian) to enjoy time together... and they also get to work on a project and have something to show for it. Broxton was able to go with Marc to one of them.  They worked together and built the sled from Rise of the Guardians.  It was funny, as Broxton keeps saying he wants to see this movie and then they built that... so he knew what he was doing, from the previews of the movie he keeps seeing. That particular Lowe's had a decent turnout.  They had everyone at a couple tables over in a side aisle.  There were several moms there with their kids... and also dads there with their kids as well. Broxton was given a pair of safety goggles and an ap...

If you know me at all, you know that I love personalized gifts... and photo's are just wonderful for me!!!  I have loved the photo ornaments that we have from the years of the boys... I really love anything to do with pictures... They really are worth a thousand words in my book! We have been having shaving cream fun... Meaning that after arts and crafts (and a bit of a mess with the markers!)  we moved on to playing with shaving cream... Marc has been away for training with the ARMY...  Once he was home, Broxton was a happy boy...  Especially since he brought home "Army Makeup" according to Broxton!!!! Ha ha ha... Of course daddy had to "paint" Broxton's face for him!   I love these two! Hope you all are having a great week!

Well, it is Wednesday, so that means PICTURE time...  How have you all been enjoying your summer? We have been having a great time and I have 2 pictures to show you the fun going on....  One...  When Marc's family was in town, we went to Chattanooga.   Will post about that later...   Had a great time, but it was H.O.T. So, after the fun at Rock City, we headed over to the stairs over by the Aquarium...  Broxton needed to cool down...  Another fun thing we have been doing? Broxton got a "big boy bed." His crib converted into a "toddler bed" but we thought it was a good time (with him starting school) to get a "big boy bed" for him to sleep in now...  So, he now has an awesome twin size bed that we just love!   What was so fun about that?  Well, besides THE BED... We also had the box that the foot-board came in... Broxton turned it into a stage for him to put on a "puppet show" for us... ...
