Opinions expressed are my own and are NOT influenced by monetary compensation .   Are you familiar with S.T.E.M?  I will tell you, I had never heard of it until Broxton started Kindergarten and even then, I wasn't familiar with the term until they had "STEM NIGHT" at school and we went to let me see what all this was about.  Since that night, I have heard STEM mentioned numerous times and I love that "Science, Technology, Engineering and Math" are being introduced to kids at a younger age... Yes, numbers and the alphabet are great and they need to know that, but also it is great to introduce them to other things to learn to really expand their mind.  When Broxton started watching BLAZE, we saw STEM being involved, now we get to see that STEM teaching is crossing other Nic...

Opinions expressed are my own and are NOT influenced by monetary compensation .   Broxton is 6 now, but he still enjoys some of the younger shows that come on Nickelodeon.  When we were sent the latest Wallykazam on DVD, I knew he would be excited.  He doesn't have cable in his room, so he loves getting DVD's so he can watch one before he heads off to bed.   I love Wallykazam because while it is entertaining, it is also educational.  That is a win for not only mama, but also for him!     Nickelodeon’s hit preschool literacy series  Wallykazam !  makes its DVD debut on  April 28, 2015 .  The series follows the adventures of  Wally and his pet dragon, Norville, who live in a forest among giants, goblins a...

Opinions expressed are my own and are NOT influenced by monetary compensation .     Having a son means I know all too much about stains and rips and all that good stuff.  We go through pants  and shorts around here like you just would not believe.  Sometimes I wonder if he just lays in the dirt to see how dirty he can get, but then I know he is having fun, so I am not too worried about it.  Don't get be wrong, I would love to be able to not have to deal with the stains, but I have to also be reasonable, my boy has fun and at the end of the day, that is all that matters!  When I was contacted and informed about a new (to me) fabric, Nanotex , I was eager to learn more.  Nanotex :  uses nanotechnology to transform the molecular structure of fibers, cre...

Homeless Animal House?

Image
We seem to have scrap wood laying around here from time to time.  I honestly don't know where some of it comes from, but a few months ago, Broxton set out to build a "homeless animal house" for our outdoor friends.  He simply placed pieces of wood together, sort of like a house of cards and then put in a few leaves and acorns.  This boy of mine, I tell you.. He has my heart!  Well, about a week ago, he got in his head he wanted to BUILD a bird house, from that wood.  So, he asked daddy to help him out.  Daddy ended up building the house and Broxton got to paint it.  I tell you, it is the little things in life, don't forget it!  The house was built, the house was painted, he knew where he wanted to put it and the next day when he was at school, daddy surprised him and put it up.  Sure enough, as soon as we got home, Broxton noticed... Not only the birdhouse was out and ready, but we already had birds going in there to check it out! ...
