Aloha Friday - # 54

It's Friday...
Time to relax...
and enjoy the weekend!!!!

From An Island Life, home of Aloha Friday :

Welcome to this week’s edition of Aloha Friday. In Hawaii, Aloha Friday is the day that we take it easy and look forward to the weekend. So I thought that on Fridays I would take it easy on posting, too.

Therefore, I’ll ask a simple question for you to answer. Nothing that requires a lengthy response. If you’d like to participate, just post your own question on your blog and leave your link below. Don’t forget to visit the other participants! It’s a great way to make new bloggy friends!

My question this week:
Do you consider yourself to be a sentimental person?
Do you love sentimental items?

My answer:
I think that I am very much a sentimental person. The reason this question comes up now is that my grandmother is moving... She is moving out of her house and into one of those assisted living apartments...
While she is packing everything up to either move, store or sell..
I really REALLY want something of hers...
So, I am getting something... LOL, not sure what...
But something.

I did tell her that I wanted to borrow her pictures (since they would not be on the wall right now) and go make copies.. You know, old ones of her and my grandad on their wedding day... things like that...

Oh, one more thing... (not a simple answer from me...)
She made an outfit for Broxton and a couple blankets... that was sentimental to me, and when I opened them up at his baby shower, I cried tears like you have never seen! :)

ALOHA everyone!

Oh yeah... Don't forget to enter my contests.... Several end this week...

  2. I am definitely. This past month my grandparents moved and my Grandma wanted to get ride of a bunch of stuff and in the process I took a lot of it home because I couldn't let it go. It all means too much to me to loose it. :)

  6. Oh I think I am, however my years have soften my desire to have things. I will be going to my Dad,s soon and am thinking of taking some of the photo album to do just as you are. It's better to do it while they are here, because when people leave this earth things can be sticky with family.

  13. I am ver sentimental, when my grandmother moved I took dishes and offer things... one thing her kitchen towels. She never had a dishwasher so we always washed and dried dishes together. So now she is with me in my kitchen.

  15. Oh yeah, you really should get a copy of the pictures! Smart idea, and you should get some momento of your gram's. Just something that reminds you of her or something that means something to only the both of you. That's just so sweet. Yes, I am sentimental too. I have stuff all over my house that means something to me about some one! Have a great weekend. Don't forget about Monday's meme. Monday's Music Moves Me - It's Freebie week! Woo Hoo!

  16. I'm sentimental, just not in a wallowy way..it's hard to explain.

Like I kept all my baby's first. And like you, if my mother/grandmother made something for my son/child. I would not give it away or sell it or anything. I'd always keep it even when my child no longer uses it.

I want to keep old photos too and just stuff to help with sentimental memories.
