Marley and Me - The Puppy Years on DVD 8/16/2011

Marley and Me: The Puppy Years was just released at Wal-Mart today!!!!
I am so excited, as Marc and I (with the boys, Broxton was not even 4 months old) watched the first movie, before he was deployed.

I can remember it like it was yesterday, so I was excited to see what this would bring!

I am heading to watch it now, and you should head on over to Wal-Mart and buy it...

Before you run out the door, I wanted to share with you other memorable dogs in Film:

10. Homeward Bound

Homeward Bound features two dogs, Chance, a young and adventure seeking dog, and Shadow, an aging and much wiser dog, who are left behind with the cat Sassy while their family goes on vacation. Unsure why their family has left, the group sets out on a very dangerous quest through America to find their family. Yet after several days they feel their family must be in trouble and make the long journey back home.

9. Marmaduke

Marmaduke hits the big screen as a Great Dane who is voiced over by the great Owen Wilson. Marmaduke is a goofy and trouble seeking Great Dane whose family just moved to a new neighborhood in Orange County, and our furry hero finds that fitting in with his new dog friends, as well a potential romantic interest, isn’t always easy.

8. Air Bud

Air Bud is about Buddy, the amazing golden retriever who has an ability to drop a jump shot like Michael Jordan. The film revolves around a young boy Josh who is rebounding from his father’s accidental death. Josh prefers to play alone on an abandoned court, and it's there that he finds a runaway dog named Buddy. After Josh makes the school basketball team, Buddy becomes the team mascot and halftime act that becomes widely popular.

7. Turner and Hooch

Scott Turner has 3 days left in the local police department before he moves to the big city to fight some real crime. However, Amos Reed, a junk yard owner and friend of Turner's, is murdered and the only witness is his trusty dog Hooch whose help Scott enlists to find the murderer behind Reeds death.

6. Scooby Doo

After being on a hiatus, each member of the Scooby Doo and the Mystery INC gang receive separate invitations to spooky island - not knowing the others have also been invited. When they show up at the Island and find each other, they start to notice the guests on the island are acting very strange. Is this island haunted? Only this team of sleuths can find out!

5. My Dog Skip

My Dog Skip is the story about a shy, lonely boy, Willie Morris, growing up in Mississippi in the 1940s. Willie receives Skip, a fox terrier, who changes and enriches his life for the better. Skip becomes loved by not only his owner, the entire community in this tearjerker of a film.

4. Bolt

Bolt, voiced by John Travolta is an American white shepherd who has lived his life as the celebrity that he is while on camera, convincing him that he actually has super powers. One day, Bolt is separated from the studio by accident and has a wild adventure that forces him to come to the realization that he really does not have powers and that the show is not real life.

3. Beethoven

Beethoven perhaps one of the most famous St. Bernard's to hit the big screen! This massive creature is always getting into trouble in the Newton household where he has grown up his whole life, but soon finds himself in serious trouble. Doctor Varnick, the local vet, is running experiments for dogs looks to for his terrible experiments - and Beethoven is on the top of that list. Luckily, his family comes to his rescue in the end.

2. 101 Dalmatians

An instant classic, and arguably one of the best movies made by Walt Disney Studios, 101 Dalmatians is about a litter of Dalmatian puppies that are abducted by the minions of the evil Cruella De Ville. Their parents, Pongo and Perdita, must find them before time runs out and their offspring are used for a cruel fashion statement!

1. Lassie Come Home

It’s pretty hard to top one of the all time classics, which is why Lassie tops us off at number one. Lassie is about a Collie whose owners, the Carraclough family, are forced to sell their dog to the rich Duke of Rudling. However Lassie is unwilling to leave the young Sam Carraclough by escaping the Duke of Rudling’s home and making the long and dangerous journey to go home. This instant classic stars Elizabeth Taylor.
