If you have been around here before, you might know that I love, no make that LOVE , Nicholas Sparks.  I honestly have EVERY book he has ever written.  I love reading each one and can not wait to get my hands on the next one as soon as it becomes available.
My love of all Nicholas Sparks does not end with his books, I also love the movies.
Yes, I think I cry at each of them, as if I had NO CLUE what was going to happen.

That was what happened when I watched Safe Haven the other night.
I was so excited to watch it, as I loved the book... and I think that Josh Duhamel is a pretty good actor.
I will tell you though, since it had been a while since I read it, it took me a few minutes to remember what book this was... But when I remembered, I was on edge the whole time.
I liked the fact that although I remembered it differently in my mind, it was neat to see how they played it out on the screen.  I loved the cast that they selected to play and being a fan of How I Met Your Mother, it was great seeing "Robin" play the character of "Jo" on here.

Synopsis
Josh Duhamel and Julianne Hough star in this spellbinding romantic drama based on the novel by best-selling author Nicholas Sparks (The Notebook). When a mysterious, beautiful woman named Katie (Hough), moves to Southport, North Carolina, she sparks the interest of the locals, especially Alex (Duhamel), a handsome widower. Although she is attracted to Alex, Katie is reluctant to trust him – that is, until a new friend (Cobie Smulders) convinces her to give Alex a chance. But before long, a dark secret from Katie’s past threatens her happiness in this thrilling romance directed by Lasse Hallström (Dear John).

*** I have not had time to see the bonus features, but I am pretty intrigued to see the ALTERNATE ENDING that they have on here... Wonder what they do?!

  1. Sounds like a good movie and book. I always like to watch the alternate scenes, and scenes never added.

Did you know that in the Wizard of Oz they almost didn't include Somewhere Over the Rainbow? It took to long. It was one of the key songs in that film.

  2. I think I cried harder at The Notebook than any movie I've ever seen. I was a bit embarrassed when the lights came on, until I noticed every other woman in the place was dabbing and sniffing too. ;)

I'm going to rent or buy this one, for sure.

  3. Hmmmm, I've heard such negatives about the movie but I loved the book. You haven't led me astray thus far though so....
