Summer Reading - Book One - Drawn Together #ad

As you know, we love reading and with summer now here, I want to kick off a summer reading extravaganza!  Today I want to share the first of many books that you should read this summer.
Up first, drawn together, it was written by Minh Le and illustrated by Dan Santat.  I will admit that this book is not one I would make a point to purchase, but I am glad that we were sent the book.
It shows that although there are many things in life that will make things difficult, if you look hard enough, you will find a way to draw closer together.

Critically-acclaimed author Minh Lê and Caldecott-winning illustrator Dan Santat join forces in DRAWN TOGETHER (Disney-Hyperion | On Sale June 5, 2018), a heartwarming story of a grandfather and his grandson as they learn to overcome their language barrier through a shared love of art and storytelling. When a young boy visits his grandfather, their lack of a common language leads to confusion, frustration, and silence. But as they sit down to draw together, something magical happens—with a shared love of art and storytelling, the two form a bond that goes beyond words.

  1. How wonderful! Mica's already gotten his library hours for the whole summer. I'm making him wait for his prizes until after Isaak is finished.

  2. Nothing brings you closer together than a hurdle you got through together. :)
