Ryan Porter - Candier - Candles For All Occasions
Let me try to break it down a bit for you - remember "coffee table books" back in the day? I don't ever heard people mentioning them now, so I don't know if it is even a thing these days...
Anyways - when I was in college - I bought this HUGE Van Gogh coffee table book - it was pricey too, but I just knew I needed it! Then, we had the local museum - The High Museum of Atlanta - have a big Van Gogh exhibit and my best friend Cindy went with me to see it. I don't even know if she was really THAT into going to museums, but she knew I was and she went with me to experience something that she knew I loved. Man, I could write a book about that girl... but now I am about to cry missing her (I hate CANCER, just in case you needed that extra information!) Moving along - technology is constantly improving and with that came the Van Gogh Immersive Experience- so you know I went to that. Having moved back down to my hometown and meeting my person, Shanda, that is the best friend God knew I needed at this stage in my life... I asked her to go with me - and she immediately said yes, as I was having a bit of a hard time with my personal life and while she was not an art fan, she was my support and went for me... and we joke and say I was trying to give her culture...
ALL of that to say - I LOVE VAN GOGH!!! So --- when I saw that there were VAN GOGH candles- I just knew that this was the VALENTINE'S gift I needed - for MYSELF!!! No shame, sometimes you just have to treat yourself! Even though when they arrived, Savannah quickly asked if I was giving one to Broxton, since he now has the Starry Night print that I had in my first apartment in his bedroom - the circle of life, right? :)
The package arrived and while I knew what it was - I was so excited to actually OPEN it and hold the candle and see the beauty for myself!!!! It appeared to be packaged perfectly for transportation and arrived in great condition. Let's goooo....

So, the brand is RYAN PORTER - CANDIER and while this must be a well known, popular brand... sadly, it was new to me. Let me be transparent here - I am not a brand person, I like what I like and move on, but these candles - they are just different!!!
I am pretty sure that I have seen these candles in local boutiques around town. Seriously, with names like " Yo, I can't adult today" or "Let's Go Girls" - you know you stop and read the candle and take a sniff!!! There is even a " Fall is my Fav F Word" candle. Besides the funny candles that I have mentioned, they have cute ones that have sprinkles for birthdays, glitz and glam for celebrating and even beautiful flowers- I have my eye on the sunflower (duh) and the gardenia (memory lane and all the feels on this one) for down the road... I am telling you, this girl here LOVES her some candles! So do my friends, so we all have a problem!!!! I think that even if you are not a candle person, this would be a great hostess gift to give, for just the writing on it... They might not ever light the candle, but it would be a great conversation piece...
That is just not the case for me - candles are meant to be lit and that is what we do around here!
So anyways, I am just scrolling along at all of these candles thinking that truth be told, I NEED most of them.. - THEN- I - SPOTTED - THEM!!! The Artributed line.
They have Van Gogh!!! While I love all of them, you know without a doubt I was drawn to the Van Gogh ones... and the fact that the 2 candles were my absolute favorite paintings?? It was just meant to be! Like I said, I was like a kid at Christmas waiting to open my gift waiting on the arrival. When they showed up, I was in love!!!
We had a couple snow days here - not normal for South Georgia, so we made the most out of it... I thought that was a perfect time to light it and enjoy the beauty of it. Isn't it gorgeous??
Just to tell you about the candle-
It comes in a tin with the artwork rapped around it. Part of the lid also has the artwork on it. The smell is amazing and the glow is beautiful. I have lit the Sunflowers one, but have yet to light the Starry Night one, it just sits there in all its beauty being admired. (For the time being!)
