Once Upon A Book Club - Subscription Box Review

Okay y'all, let me just tell you...  If you know me, you KNOW I very rarely spend money on myself.  I am not one to go and buy myself new clothes / shoes or items just because.  I spend my money on my kiddos!  Especially when it comes to the holidays!  I have had my eye on ONCE UPON A BOOKCLUB since the first time it crossed my feed, but I knew I would not be trying it, since that would mean spending money on ME instead of THEM.
I was so excited when I got the opportunity to review one and let me just say... I have told everyone I cross paths with about this, so now it is time to tell you guys!

First of all, let me back track... you all KNOW how much I LOVE books!  I love reading them, I love having them around our house and I love sharing my love of reading!  (Remember we have a couple little free libraries to spread the love of reading in our community!)  I was also lucky to grab a good book and love it and proceed to start a mini book club at work with a new to me author...

Anyways, back to Once Upon a Book Club...
Really quick, from their pitch:
"Once Upon A Book Club delivers adult and young adult packages filled with books and wrapped gifts. Book Clubbers receive a newly released novel and wrapped gifts labeled with page numbers. As they read the featured book, they’re prompted only to open the gifts when they reach the specified page number."

So... I was eagerly waiting for this to come in and when it came in the mail, I was like a kid at Christmas... except it was on my lunch break, so I could not open and enjoy!
When I did have time later on, I was so impressed!
You open the box and there is like a welcome letter in it, sort of explaining how things work.  Mine also included an autographed book plate.  I am not sure if that is included in each box, or just certain books, but it was cool!

**** SPOILER ALERT**** STOP READING NOW IF YOU DO NOT WANT TO KNOW WHAT WAS INCLUDED IN THIS PARTICULAR MONTH.   The book I received was " FAKE IT TILL YOU BAKE IT.

So, you grab your book and jump in.  Mine was about an NFL player that opens up a cupcake shop with a couple of his teammates.  I don't know why, but my mind went immediately to Michael Strahan.  I just love him and felt like he could be the main character.  If they ever make a movie version, they should totally get him for the lead role!
As we read the book, you have a sticky note on certain pages that says "OPEN A GIFT" and then in the subscription box you have packages that say page ##  So obviously you open that particular package when you get the note to do so.  As I said, mine was Fake It Till You Bake It,  so one of my gifts was plastic cupcake liners.  Another was a cute stemless wine glass.   I can't tell you what all was in there, but it corresponds with what is going on in the book at that time...

I LOVED IT!  The subscription box was so fun and so different!  I would love to try another one out to see how it works month to month!  I REALLY want the Write Your Own Story box and/or Echo From the Past box!!!  (Hint, hint, Hint!)

I really like how you can go to their website and order past boxes. You can order one box that has previously shipped or you can order a monthly subscription and be surprised.  You can also order JUST the books and you can even order the gifts that were included in the box!  They have many ways to make sure you get exactly what you are looking for!  ** The only thing I would change would be to have a synopsis of the book for each of the past books.  Some had them, but others I had to search online to see what the books were about.**

If you are looking for a great gift that keeps on giving, make sure to check out Once Upon a Book Club and see about sending one to yourself or someone on your list!
