That Mom - Country Time Lemonade Giveaway

I want to be THAT MOM.
I never thought that I would say it...

You know, the mom that has lemonade ready for the kids and friends after school.
Like in the movies when someone comes to visit and you invite them to sit on the porch and have a nice glass of lemonade!
Ha! Yes, being a mommy has totally changed how I want to be!
But, I love it!!!!

The thing I love about the canister of Country Time is that you can make whatever amount you need... Just add water and you are good to go!!!!
Seriously, unexpected company?
Whip up a thing of lemonade in a flash!!!!

The ONLY thing that I do not like about it...
I wish it had an easier pour spout so if you just wanted to make a bottle.
Yes, I know that they sell the singles too...
But with the canister, I wish that was an added feature.
See? Not really a big deal!
I can deal with that!!!!

When you were younger (or your kids) did you make a lemonade stand?
I do not even know... Do kids still do that today?
That is such a classic image of childhood in my mind!!!!!!

But seriously, I do want to share with you...
Alex's Lemonade Stand.
With September being Childhood Cancer Awareness Month, I feel there is no better time than now...
Two days before Alexandra Scott turned one... She was diagnosed with Neuroblastoma.
When "Alex" as 4, she started a lemonade stand... with the help of her older brother...
To raise money for childhood cancer research.
Before she passed away, at the age of 8, her lemonade stand had raised over 1 million dollars!
Today, it has since raised over 20 million dollars!
How can you help?
With every SPECIALLY MARKED canister of COUNTRY TIME LEMONADE purchased, a donation will be made to Alex's Lemonade Stand! Country time has already donated over $300,000.

Country time has generously said that they will give a canister of their lemonade to one lucky reader!!!!

Mandatory entry-

Ecover - Review and Giveaway

With all the cleaning products out there today, how do you decide what to use?
Wouldn't it be better if we looked to make sure we were protecting the environment at the same time? Instead of using products with tons of chemicals, we should be trying to use more that use our natural resources. Take ECOVER, they use PLANT BASED INGREDIENTS!
ECOVER has been around since 1980, but I have just recently discovered them. They are also an international company, that was started in Belgium. Head on over to their site to read more about them... and while you are there, look at their roof! Tell me that is not just too cool! I would like to visit and see that for myself! :)

We were sent a bottle of the All Purpose ECOVER.
The bottle said All Purpose, so I used it to clean a little of everything...
I ran a sink of pretty warm water and then added 2 cap fulls of the cleaner.

First, we had an explosion of some sorts in the microwave and it was a stubborn clean-up...
The ECOVER got it cleaned right up...
Of course, I then rinsed it really good with warm water and all that good stuff, I still get worried about cleaning the microwave with anything...

Then, I used the cleaner to scrub down the stove, the counters and the sink.
I really did not notice any odor at all, maybe be "clean smell" but no chemicals AT ALL!!!
Major plus right there!

I also used it to clean the floors...
Yes, it left them nice and clean and I was not worried about Broxton being down there!

The bottle comes in a 32 oz size... That leaves plenty to clean, clean, clean!
I also like the fact that both the bottle and cap are recyclable!
If more things were, think of how much better Earth would be!

Feel free to sign up for their newsletter and stay up to date on what they are up to!
Or you can always check out the ecover blog!

Do you want a bottle of your own?

Just tell me any other product that they carry!

30 - Day Blogger Challenge Day 3

Day 3 — A favorite book

Oh Wow!
This is yet another hard one. Why does everything have to be a favorite? Ha!
I love every single Nicholas Sparks book.
Ever since I read "The Notebook" I have been in love! His writing, his characters...
I love all of them!
I also have a place in my heart for Jodi Picoult.
I read "Change of Heart" and at that point, I knew I would have to read all of hers too!
Each one of her books makes you ask yourself what you would do...
If you have not read her, I recommend you do so!

But then we can go to Broxton's books...
I love reading with him and each one brings a smile to our face...

Do I love to read?
Do you?
I hope so!
As for a favorite...
I do not have one, which is a good thing!

Mable's Labels - Review

With kids going back to school...
There is no better time than to share a recent discovery of mine.
I was recently sent a code to get a pack of Mabel's Labels for us to review.

After looking at all the cute items, we went with the Racecar Sticky Labels.
This has been perfect for labeling Broxton's cups and such...
Especially this past weekend!!!!!

They have 26 different designs that you can choose from with the Sticky Labels!
I like how although it is stuck on his cups, the labels have not come off, (unlike the stickers that he placed ALL OVER them this weekend!)

I know that once Broxton starts school, we will be using these to label his items...
You know, the fun school supplies!!!!

If you have a school aged child... Or a little one in daycare (even the nursery at church... )
These are a must have in my opinion!!!!

You can keep up with all that Mabel's Labels has to offer by these different options:
Mabelhood (their blog)

I am glad that I was able to review these now, so that I know what to get down the road!

Aloha Friday - 50

It is that time again...
Aren't you glad it is ALOHA FRIDAY?!
Its the weekend!

My question this week -

Have you ever renewed your wedding vows?
If not, would you ever?

My answer...
We actually just renewed them this weekend!
It was wonderful and of course, I cried!!!!

Elmer's Bag it Forward

We do not have to worry about school supplies for Broxton yet...
But we do buy supplies for the other boys...

There are some people that just do not have the means to buy for their children..
So, we must all be thankful for the Elmer's Bag it Forward Program.

(This is also great at teaching kids to "pay it forward" or to help others when you can, because you do not know when you might be the one needing a helping hand!)

Elmer's has created a virtual bag it forward charity meme!!!!
How awesome is that?
With all the great bloggers out there...
You simply head on over here for the rules.
The more posts we get out and spread the word...
The more will be donated!!!!
Elmer's is "Adopting - a - Classroom"

I was tagged by my dear Xmas Dolly and now I am tagging:

Strong Bonds

What a weekend!
( I am not sure about other branches, so when I am writing this... I am referring to my experience with the Army National Guard.)

The Guard has what is called a Yellow Ribbon Service.
Basically, it helps with the service member (and the spouse) with coming home and reintegrating into civilian life. We actually got to go to a Yellow Ribbon Service BEFORE Marc deployed (to give the spouses information as to what resources were available to us during the deployment.)
Once Marc was home, they had another one, just to remind everyone that they were there for us.

This past weekend... There was a Yellow Ribbon Service as well as a Strong Bonds retreat.

What is Strong Bonds? Basically... It was a marriage retreat.
We went and I think we both had a great time.
All the guys were there... and not in uniform, so I am sure they liked that better than the normal drill each month. They put us up in really nice hotels...

We actually stayed at the Westin in Savannah.
Our hotel was beautiful.
The room was nice...
The toiletries were Green Tea Aloe... LOVED IT! :)
Our room had a view overlooking the Savannah River.

The Yellow Ribbon Service and the Strong Bonds were held at our hotel... and at the convention center next door... So it was very convenient.

With the Yellow Ribbon, they had different schools there... And potential employers.
They also had booths set up with information on activities for children...
Including reading material to help children with the readjustment of their loved one returning from deployment... (Broxton got a really cute book/photo book... Will be talking about that soon)

As for the Strong Bonds...
We had "class" for 2 days...
It was not that bad though...
Yes, as anyone in the military knows... THEY LOVE POWER POINT...
So there was plenty of Power Point going on...
But they also included video (some pretty funny ones too!) to get the message across.
Also, they gave you titles of several books if you were interested in reading...

The message of Strong Bonds?
Communication is key for a strong and healthy marriage.
They had Chaplains leading the class....

The best part?
At the end of the weekend...
Those that wanted to...
Could renew their vows.

They said that renewing your vows was a renewal of your commitment to one another.
You know, that no matter what lies ahead...
Good or Bad, you are there through it all!

And yes...
Marc and I renewed our vows.
It was sweet... They gave all the women a rose...
and then the Chaplain spoke...
Then the guys said their vows.... then we said ours...
You know me...
but, I was not the only one...
We even have a certificate saying we renewed them.

It was a great ending to a weekend...
How was yours?

Whatcha Say Wednesday - 1

I am joining up with Stash Mama for her first ever Whatcha Say Wednesday.

Click here to learn more about it...

1. What is your favorite Halloween Costume, or What are you going to let your kid(s) be for Halloween this year?
I really do not have a favorite... as a red head, I have been Pippy Longstocking more than once! :)
For my son... I am not sure what he will be... We need to just go and look, whatever grabs us is IT!

2. What extracurricular activities were you apart of in High School/College?
In high school, I was mostly a talker... and I took TONS of pictures.
I was also in chorus... I loved it.. as I love to sing! I might not be great at it, but it makes me happy!

3. How did you come across blogging?

I started blogging to basically have something to do. My husband was deployed... I was a first time mom ALWAYS online looking up things... Now, I continue to do it because I love it! and of course, I love all the wonderful people I have met!

w / w - are you ready for some football

This was taken last year...
Dad and I at the Georgia vs. LSU game...
Yes, we lost...
(Marc was happy!)
But it sure was fun!

I am ready for FOOTBALL!!!!!
Georgia starts THIS Saturday!

Precious Moments Blanket - Review and Giveaway

Ever since I can remember, my grandmother gave me a Precious Moments figurine.
I used to have them sitting on my dresser, but since I have quite a few now, I have them packed up until I have a curio cabinet to display them in.
I also used to have a Precious Moments coloring book...
I mean, think about it...
the soft pastels of the figures...
they really are "precious" and they celebrate all the "moments" in your life!

Recently, with Mom Select, I was able to review an item from the Precious Moments Baby Boutique. I must admit, I did not realize just what all items the "Precious Moments" line has grown into!
The store literally has it all!
The "Precious Moments Baby Boutique" has so many adorable items!
Baby bottles, the classic figurines, keepsake albums, photo frames, comb & brush sets, Bibles, bedding... Do you get the picture? They have so many things!!!!
I wish I would have known about this..
There are a few items that I would have put on my baby registry!

Like this:
(Broxton really is the sweetest baby boy!)
or this:

I still might get this soon:

I was able to review the super plush blanket:

Broxton and I really like the blanket.
It is super soft and it seems a bit longer than most of the "baby blankets."
The only draw back I have is that the outline is pink.
Had the blanket been with a yellow or green outline... it would have been more gender friendly. We still use it... as it really is soft and comfortable.
But, as for a gift, it is more appropriate for a girl.
The detail on the blanket is of the high quality you expect from the Precious Moments line.

Mom Select and Precious Moments are letting one of you lucky readers win a blanket of your own! (or to give as a baby gift!)

Throx - Review and Giveaway

I do not know about you...
But either our washing machine or our dryer is FULL of socks!
Some how whenever we do a load of laundry...
A sock disappears...
(Maybe it is the Sock Fairy?!)

Now, for normal white socks, you might have more than one pair... so it is not THAT big of a deal... But, you know the cute socks you get with all the fun patterns on them? Well, when one of those socks goes missing, you have to give it up... No more wearing those fun socks! I mean, really... Unless you are Pippi Longstocking or Punky Brewster, you have to have your socks match!
Now there is a solution to your sock problems!!!

Have you heard of them?
Throx is not a PAIR of socks...
It is a SET of socks.
Three socks!

Lost a sock? No worries, you have a spare! ( Now you have a pair!)
One has a hole in it? Don't fret... You have that set... Now its a pair!!
The best thing is that they are cute patterns...

If you really want...
You can order two sets of the same pattern... Now you have three pair!
Get where I am going with this?!

I like the fact that they are not so thin that they wear through quickly...
I also like that although they are "One Size Fits" ... They fit MY feet! ( I wear a 10, so I was nervous!)
They are so cute that at the bottom, where your arches are... that is where the logo is! :)
(Yes, it's the little things that excite me!)
Edwin (THE inventor of Throx) sent me a set for review...
Aren't they just the cutest?!

Now, he also sent a set of KID THROX for one lucky reader to win!

Time for Bed Baby Ted - Book Review

As you know, I love reading!
I really hope to pass that love along to Broxton.
We have read books since he was born and from time to time, he will sit in his chair and "read".
Other times, I read to him.
With that in mind.
I am always looking for books to add to the library!
We were able to review, Time for Bed Baby Ted by Debra Sartell.

At night, we normally read one or two books before bedtime.
With Time for Bed Baby Ted, we read THAT BOOK three times!
Time for Bed Baby Ted is so cute!
It tells of ...
You guessed it!
Baby Ted, getting ready for bed!
As Ted gets ready, his dad guesses who he is...
and in the process, Ted gets ready for bed and it is determined...
Ted is not a baby!
He is a big boy because he got ready for bed by himself!
(Even brushing his teeth!)
With squeaks and snaps and everything else in between...
Daddy guesses what baby Ted is... and in the process Ted is getting ready for bed!
What a FUN way to go night night!
This is a must have for all!
The cute thing about it is that Debra even sent Broxton some Bedtime Hero Badges to help with the getting to bed process!

I know that this is one that will be a definite night time book!

A HUGE THANKS to Debra for the chance to review this book!
Join Debra's blog to follow along with Baby Ted!
