Have you seen the previews for the movie (based on a true events) Eddie the Eagle?  We saw the previews a few times and I thought it would be a good one to see.  Broxton (nor Marc) mentioned it, but it looked like one of those "feel good" movies that are nice to watch from time to time.  We ended up getting an invitation to go see an advance screening and Broxton was out of school for a winter break. Of course, since it was his BIRTHDAY WEEK, I said yes and we headed out one night to go see it. I thought it was a great story, although I will admit it was sad too.  Seeing his dad not really care about his dreams at all really broke this mama's heart , but it was awesome seeing the love and undying suppor...

How I "Met" An Olympian!

Image
How cool is this?! Remember how I told you I "knew" an Olympian? (If you don't...  Long story short, I went to Seattle with a great friend of mine.  While there, we went to visit some of her family.  One of her family members, that I met for a brief second, was Courtney.  Wonder why the visit was so short?  She was on the way to Volleyball Practice... and now years later, she was IN THE OLYMPICS and yes.. I met her... ) Well..... Image Credit: Linda Thompson I thought it would be neat to ask her a few questions and share them with you... so here we go: Up first, I asked who she called first when she found out that she would be traveling with TEAM USA....   I can't remember who I called first, either my mom or my dad. Then Craig and Trevor and G-ma Cooper. It was such an incredible moment, and it was really cool getting to share it with all of them. How long has she played Volleyball: I have played volleyball since I was in 6th grade, so 18 years n...

Memories For A Lifetime : Field Day and A Coke

Are you on of the millions of people that just so happens to be watching the Olympics? We are really getting into them! Actually, Broxton has been excited to see the "Pa-Infents" every time they come on! From the opening ceremony, until now, we have watched at some point each day! I learned more about my husband too, I had no clue that he would genuinely take an interest in each sport... from Boxing (that was a given) to the trampoline (okay, let me be honest, I had no clue they even HAD trampoline as a sport)  we are loving it... Side note, (totally time for me to toot my own horn here)  I met an Olympian once... Yes, true story!    A friend and I went to Seattle on vacation one year and we went over to her aunt and uncles house for dinner... Her younger cousin came in (for just a bit and then was out the door to go practice) and we had a brief meeting... Well, how about that little cousin that I met those years ago... Just happens to be COURTNEY THOMPSON...  ...
