Sesame Street K is for Kindness Tour

We are totally in love with Elmo around here.  Savannah seems to call Elmo "lalalala" for the most days, I guess because of the song for Elmo's World.  We always call Elmo by his name, but she still has her own name for him.  Well, I about FLIPPED when I received an email to let me know that the Sesame Street K is for Kindness Pop Up Tour was headed our way!   I know Savannah is going to be so excited to see Elmo and that happiness for her makes my heart smile so big!!!

HBO and Sesame Workshop—in partnership with local public television stations—announced the launch of the Sesame Street: K is for Kindness Tour, a free, multi-city experiential tour timed to and inspired by the new, 47th season of Sesame Street, the gold standard in children’s television. Created especially for preschool fans and their families, this immersive, limited-engagement tour features hands-on digital learning fun, participation from local libraries in each community including bilingual English / Spanish books and activities, “meet and greets” with the costumed characters, a 15-minute interactive live stage show starring walk-around versions of the series’ beloved characters Elmo and Abby Cadabby, and other special surprises!

“Teaching kindness has been at the core of Sesame Street since it first arrived on television and remains just as important today as it was then," says Dennis Williams, Vice President of Corporate Social Responsibility, HBO. “The Sesame Street: K is for Kindness Tour continues in this tradition of presenting such important lessons to preschoolers.  As a proud partner with Sesame Workshop and local public television stations, we will bring the joy of Sesame Street to communities and share this magical experience with children and their families who will be able to see, touch, and interact with their favorite Sesame friends up close.”

“In keeping with the Sesame Street mission, the K is for Kindness Tour aims to spark imagination, inspire a love of reading, cultivate kindness, and provide an element of surprise for children at each and every stop,” says Scott Chambers, Senior Vice President and General Manager, North America Media and Licensing, Sesame Workshop. “The tour complements Sesame Street’s kindness curriculum, which is woven throughout the new season.”

In addition to a “kindness” curriculum, the new season of Sesame Street also features everyone’s favorite furry red monster, Elmo, in a new updated, fun, and fresh version of “Elmo’s World.”  In 25 five-minute installments, lessons are taught through pre-school relevant topics, live action films, and interactive thinking games such as matching, sorting, and counting. Kids accompany Elmo and his friend Smartie, an animated cell phone and learning tool, as he uses his imagination to dive into the topic of the day.

Elmo and the rest of his friends can be seen throughout season 47, as well as in previous episodes of Sesame Street currently available on HBO and PBS KIDS and on Sesame Street’s YouTube channel. Sesame Street content continues to be available to PBS KIDS viewers on weekdays and Sundays on local stations, and on the PBS KIDS Video App.

From Krystal:
While other chains are trying to go “bigger,” Krystal is using its traditional “think small” philosophy to completely reinvent the quick-service standard of value. With its all-new “More for $4” deal starting on Nov. 28, Krystal is offering guests more food than ever before – two Krystal burgers, two boneless wings, a side of fries, Coca-Cola® drink, and a cookies made with premium Ghirardelli® chocolate – at a price that couldn’t be smaller. It’s a strategy the brand has been working towards for some time.

“Everyone loves the variety you can get at Krystal, and we wanted to find a way to give our guests a taste of everything we know they love,” explained Alice Crowder, Vice President of Marketing for The Krystal Company. “This is easily the most aggressive deal we’ve ever put together and we love that we can offer guests Krystals, wings, fries, a drink and a cookie all for only $4.”

The boneless wings featured in the deal can be ordered plain, or tossed in the chain’s tangy BBQ or spicy Buffalo sauce.  The newest item in the meal is a chocolate chip cookie made with real Ghirardelli chocolate for a sweet finish sure to satisfy.

“Our guests enjoy mixing and matching their favorite items,” Crowder continued.  The fact that the entire meal deal costs $4 stands in sharp contrast to average quick-service value pricing that hovers between $4.75 and $7.50 for a standard sandwich-fries-drink combo, with dessert options available at an additional cost.

“We all need our dollars to go further these days, especially with the holidays rapidly approaching,” Crowder finished. “$5 may sound like a good deal, until you look closer at what you’re actually getting for that price. We’re confident that More for $4 will be the kind of value guests really appreciate.”

More for $4 will make its debut at all participating restaurants on Monday, Nov. 28. The brand has not yet announced an end date for the promotion, which was designed to spotlight everyday value. Krystal also indicated that additional variations on More for $4 may appear later in 2017 based on guest input and response.
