Living in Atlanta, we have been lucky to have many fun events happen near us.  Coming up next? Monster Energy is presenting Supercross!  I am thrilled to know that we will be going, since whenever we have been to any events that have bikes in it, Broxton is on the edge of his seat the whole time.  Not to mention that I have watched Supercross on TV before and I must admit, it looks pretty exciting.  I think seeing it live will be even more thrilling than I think it is already!
Just think of seeing all these bikes racing around a dirt track, trying to see who will come out the winner!   Just looking at the photos, I am so excited to surprise him with this ... especially since it will be close to his birthday and will be a birthday surprise for him!

Friday Feast #1 ( #Linky ) Crock Pot Potato Soup

I am glad you decided to stop by and I really hope you join me as I try to do Friday's Feast! What exactly is Friday's Feast?  It is what I hope to start as a great link up!
All you have to do is post a link to your recipe of choice!   It can be an old one or a new one. It can be easy or hard.  Hey, it can literally be anything... drinks, entree, snacks... the options are endless!  I just hope you join up with me and maybe we can all find a few new recipes to add to our collection!
I hate to admit that I have no picture of the finished product. I plan to do better at taking photos of the dishes I cook, but until then, I will find a random photo to add to give you something to see! I saw this recipe being passed around on facebook, so I am not sure where it was originally posted .  If you know where it came from, I would love to link back to it, so please let me know!

Crock Pot Potato Soup
Ingredients:
1 30oz. bag of frozen diced hash browns
1 32 oz box of chicken broth
1 can of cream of chicken soup (10 oz)
1 pkg. cream cheese (8 oz, not fat free)
3 oz bacon bits
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
salt and pepper to taste

Directions:
Put the potatoes in the crockpot. Add in the chicken broth, cream of chicken soup and half of the bacon bits. Add a pinch of salt and pepper.
Cook on low for 8 hours or until potatoes are tender.
An hour before serving, cut the cream cheese into small cubes. Place the cubes in the crock pot. Mix a few times throughout the hour before serving.
Once the cream cheese is completely mixed in, it's ready to serve.
Top with cheddar cheese and some additional bacon bits.

This was DELICIOUS!!!  I made this at one point in December.  I thought it was awesome and everyone else seemed to agree.  It was great the next day too, although in our house, there wasn't much left for day number 2.  The next time I make this (and it will be soon, perfect for cold weather!)  I will more than likely double it so that we have enough for more than one day!

SIDE NOTE -  After researching this, I found this recipe also over at Simply Made With Love.  I know I have never visited this site, but I will credit it back here since it seems like it might have been where it started, before ending up on facebook.

I would love for you to join up with me and post a recipe! Just add your link to the linky below.

Prankster? Great Book to Read!

FTC Compliant Review Policy:
The product(s) featured in this review were provided free of cost to me by the manufacturer or representing PR agency for the sole purpose of product testing. Opinions expressed are my own and are NOT influenced by monetary compensation.

Growing up, were you a prankster?  Well, I totally got pranked a bit ago.  I had a note telling me I had a package waiting for me on the shipping office.  I finally got around to getting it and it had "PERISHABLE" written on it...I freaked out, not knowing what was sent for review and what condition it was going to be in... I opened it and it was a rather large carton of milk...  Then, I opened it up and saw that they got me!   It wasn't milk... It was a new book for me to read!   The Terrible Two  was the name of the book and when I saw that Jeff Kinney (Diary of a Wimpy Kid) liked it, I knew I was going to have to see what it was about.  I couldn't put it down, I was cracking up at what the prankster was doing (or trying to do)    This is a great book for the kids (and adults will enjoy hearing the stories too!)
Synopsis:

Miles Murphy is not happy to be moving to Yawnee Valley, a sleepy town that’s famous for one thing and one thing only: cows. In his old school, everyone knew him as the town’s best prankster, but Miles quickly discovers that Yawnee Valley already has a prankster, and a great one. If Miles is going to take the title from this mystery kid, he is going to have to raise his game.
It’s prankster against prankster in an epic war of trickery, until the two finally decide to join forces and pull off the biggest prank ever seen: a prank so huge that it would make the members of the International Order of Disorder proud.
In The Terrible Two, bestselling authors and friends Mac Barnett and Jory John have created a series that has its roots in classic middle-grade literature yet feels fresh and new at the same time.

*** Update- I contacted the publisher to determine the target age and they recommend age 8-12.  (That doesn't mean young or older wont enjoy, this was just the recommended age. )

Just because Christmas is over, it doesn't mean that the season for giving is over.  With many area's we are facing cold days and even colder nights.  Sure, we have a nice warm bed to snuggle up in, but that isn't the case for many kids around the world.  Lucky for us, Carters has teamed up with the 1 Million Good Nights Pajama Program.  If you are interested in donating, you can fill out the form online and make a gift card donation to help them provide warm pajama's and a great kids book as well.
October 1 marked the start of Danger Season when temperatures around the country began to drop. Many of the children we serve do not have warm pajamas to sleep in on cold nights. We need your help, and children need PJs and Books – your support will help ensure that we deliver One Million Good Nights to keep children warm and secure at bedtime with comfy pjs and a nurturing book.

With the colder months ahead, please think about purchasing a new pair of pajama's to donate.  You can donate to the pajama program, or you can purchase pajama's and donate them to a local shelter. Think about grabbing a pair when you are shopping at Carters and not only clothing your little ones, but also taking care of those in the community!   When you make donations, do you think about pajama's for kids, or are you like me and sadly it has never crossed your mind?

Know what happens January 16th? #PaddingtonMovie is released in the states!!!

FTC Compliant Review Policy:
The product(s) featured in this review were provided free of cost to me by the manufacturer or representing PR agency for the sole purpose of product testing. Opinions expressed are my own and are NOT influenced by monetary compensation.

If you follow me on Instagram, you know that Broxton and I saw the movie Paddington back in December.  Well, since it is being released on January 16th, I can finally share with you just how great and cute and funny and sweet and sad it really was!
I have always heard of Paddington, but have never seen Paddington on TV or even read a Paddington book... Until now.  We saw the movie and fell in love.  We were given a Paddington bear when we left and Broxton actually donated one to his school library (where he has also requested Paddington books to bring home for us to read!)

In Paddington, we get to see how it all starts, with Paddington and his family out in the jungle.  We then follow Paddington on his journey, see how he ends up with the Brown family and even learn how he gets the name Paddington!   For me, I just loved seeing the movie and learning about Paddington, but I also enjoyed seeing Hugh Bonneville outside of his Downton Abbey character. Broxton loved watching Paddington getting into trouble (not on purpose) and I loved seeing how the relationship between the bear and the humans would grow.
If you are not familiar with Paddington, you should make plans to go see this cute movie this weekend.  If you are familiar with Paddington, I am sure you are already counting down the days until the release!

Synopsis:
From the beloved novels by Michael Bond and producer David Heyman (HARRY POTTER), PADDINGTON tells the story of the comic misadventures of a young Peruvian bear (voiced by Ben Whishaw) who travels to the city in search of a home. Finding himself lost and alone, he begins to realize that city life is not all he had imagined - until he meets the kindly Brown family who read the label around his neck that says "Please look after this bear. Thank you." and offer him a temporary haven. It looks as though his luck has changed until this rarest of bears catches the eye of a museum taxidermist.

I'm Back!!!!

Hey everyone!!!
Hope you have had a great holiday and are back in the swing of things now.

Sorry that I have been missing and I really hope you are still with me.
Life has been hectic lately and I am finally back and ready to go.
Let's see...
Lots of personal things have been going on, but the main thing I want to share with you is asking for you to keep my family in your thoughts and prayers...
You see, long story short, my granddaddy was placed in the hospital right before Christmas.
He spent Christmas in the hospital, with my Mema by his side.
For us, that meant going for a visit before Christmas to see him in the hospital and lucky for us, we were able to visit him after Christmas where he was back home.  For those not aware, he has Alzheimer's / dementia and that is just one of the issues he is facing.  The great news?  When I went to see him after Christmas, HE KNEW WHO I WAS!!!!   Talk about an amazing feeling!  I feel like it has been years and years since he knew me, but I am 1 million percent sure he knew me when I went to visit him.  It was the best feeling.  He still has several medical issues and it is honestly just a time of waiting now.  I know it is hard to say, but it is something we have all had to face and deal with in our own way.

On to a good note...
We had the boys here and my parents and brother were able to come up for Christmas day with us.
I know that I have been dealing with many personal issues and I do apologize for not being around lately... but this year is going to be a great one. I know it!!!

A few things I do want to try...

I would like to try and do "Friday's Feast"
I would love it if you could link up with me.

I admit, I am not a cook... I don't really know how to and I am really trying to learn.  I have been saving different recipes and started trying out a few myself.  On Fridays, I plan to post a recipe. I would really like for you to join me and post a recipe too!  For those of you that have recipes already on your blog, feel free to post a link to an oldie but goody if you want....
