Sesame Workshop’s newest resiliency initiative Little Children, Big Challenges

I received an email and wanted to share:

Sesame Workshop’s newest resiliency initiative Little Children, Big Challenges.
This bilingual, multimedia outreach initiative is for military, veteran, and general public families with young children, to help increase self-awareness, boost self-esteem, and help children persevere through changes. The project will debuted this week with a new anthem, “What We Are”

Little Children Big Challenges is designed to:
Proactively help children build resilience factors that they can draw on during day-to-day transitions (such as beating the bedtime blues, trying new things, learning from mistakes, making new friends, accepting not being able to do what others can, resolving problems between friends) and challenging situations (such as sibling rivalry, bullying, relocation, divorce, and incarceration)
Encourage parents, caregivers, and educators to use positive routines to help foster young children’s resilience on a daily basis.

I just loved the video... I thought it was so cute..
What did you think?

The Klampie Mystery

Broxton has a new book we have been reading...
The Klampie Mystery.

This is a cute little story and I am so glad that we had the chance to read it...

This story follows a little girl named Samantha on her family vacation.
For their Christmas break, Samantha and her family go to visit her Aunt and Uncle in Australia...
(That right there was pretty cool to me, I would LOVE to go to Australia!)
To get ready for their vacation, Samantha's dad bought her a cute little stuffed Koala that "clamps" on to things.. That was how she ended up naming it Klampie!  So, as they head to Australia, Klampie is clamped to her bag...   She doesn't take her bag everywhere with her, but of course she remembers it when it is time to go...   Once they are on the plane heading back to the states... KLAMPIE comes to life!
WHAT?  How did that happen?
Looks like you will have to read the book to figure out the mystery!!!!!

As I said, it is a cute book and we have enjoyed reading it!
I loved the "mystery" of it all!!!!
Buy it from Amazon today!

Snuggle Up with @CuddleCovers

When do you start your Christmas shopping?
I used to try and start towards the end of summer, that way I could be totally finished by December 1st.
Last year did not work out so well, so I am hoping this year is an improvement...

The reason I ask is I have found a great MUST HAVE for this years list!!!!
They are super cute and really functional!!!
It is a Pillowcase cover that is an adorable stuffed animal!!!!

They have several animals that is sure to make kids of all ages smile!
You can pick between a Bear, Cat, Dog, Lion, Dinosaur or Unicorn!

Now, I don't know about you.. but cars can get pretty packed when you head on a trip...
They need that special stuffed animal... they need their pillow for the ride...

Well, not anymore! Just give them their Cuddle Cover and they are ready to go!!!
Yet another two in one that makes this mama smile!

The Cuddle Cover site sells pillows to go in there, or you can just use your own.. Whichever works best for your situation.  It is really easy to assemble!

You just unzip the side, shove your pillow in... Fluff it just the way you want it to be... Zip it back in.. and you are good to go!
I will say the zipper is a bit of a catch 22 to me.  I wished it was a little longer, to make the ease of putting the pillow in easier.. But at the same time, I like it that size, so little ones don't go yanking out the pillow and asking you to fix it over and over again!!!!

We were sent the Dog for review..

I knew it was cute, but honestly , I was worried as to how soft it would be...
Let me tell you, it was so soft and I know that everyone will love it.

I will also let you in on a little secret... When I said KIDS OF ALL AGES, I meant it..

This would be perfect for a little one that is moving into a "big kid bed".  I know that we still put a pillow by Broxton when he lays in the big bed... This could double as the snuggle friend, the pillow and the "buffer!"
Also, I think this would be great for younger ones to prop up on when they are reading!!!!

You can connect with Cuddle Covers on Facebook and Twitter.

Help Your Clothes (and Closet) With @MyClothingHelpr

Okay, lets get a bit personal here..  Do you wear your clothes more than one time before you wash them?
I will be honest... I do.  Like church..  We get up, get dressed, go to church, come home and change.
So, I will wear those pants a few more times before I wash them.   I will also wear a shirt that I wore for just a bit again before washing them..   ESPECIALLY clothes that have to be dry cleaned.  No, I am not being nasty or lazy...  I am being normal.  At least, normal in my mind.

I was talking to a friend of mine and she says she does like 4 loads of laundry PER day.. EVERY day.

Her house consists of her, her husband and 2 small children.  She told me that her (and her husband) will wear something for just a bit.. change and then put on another outfit.  One example was that he comes home from work.. changes... then needs to go to the store.. changes again... then once he is home... changes again... What? There is no way that you are that dirty that you need to change 3 or 4 times a day... to just work and go to the store.. He is an art director making logos, so I KNOW he doesn't get all dirty....

Well, I told her that she would not need the product I am going to tell you about..

But, if you are anything like me... You might like this idea!

My Clothing Helper is a great idea!!!!

What is it?  Well, it is this cute little hang tab that you put on your hanger..

It has a "C" on it  (for clean)
Then, you wear your clothes, come home, hang it up and move the little circle down to the 1.

Pretty simple.. but very effective!
The only thing, is you have to want to do it!  (Example, I told my mom about it and she said it would be great for my dad.. only problem, was would my dad do it?  I think not, since she told him he had to match his own socks and I think sometimes he just throws them all in the drawer!)
I like that they fit on all sorts of hangers, so if you are one with plastic hangers, you are safe... as well as those that use the metal hangers that come from the dry cleaners!

So, if you are looking for something like this for your house... and you are tired of guessing what has been worn how many times... You might want to look into this..
At only $9.99 a pack, it really is a great deal!!!!

Remember you can follow them on Facebook and Twitter.

Are You a Fan of Steak? AF

Welcome to this week’s edition of Aloha Friday. In Hawaii, Aloha Friday is the day that we take it easy and look forward to the weekend.  I am linking up with Kailani..

My Question this week...
Do you eat steak?
If so...
How do you like it cooked
do you use any steak sauce?

My answer...
I never liked steak, until I was pregnant with Broxton... Then, I realized I LOVED it..

I used to get it WELL and loved me some Heinz 57..

Now, I like it MED and I have realized that you don't need any steak sauce...
(but, if I had to pick.. I love Country Bobs and Heinz 57)

Decorate Without Making a Mark - @PhotoTrax #giveaway

I love photos and I love hanging them in my house...  If I could, I would have them everywhere, but Marc doesn't like the holes left in the walls...   While we are at it, I get annoyed having to take the frame down to change out the pictures, so they either stay that way forever... or they never get hung!!!!

When I was in college (Yes, mental note for another blog post) I lived in a dorm my first two years...  The walls were just cement.. (looked like painted cinder blocks, maybe they were?)  Any way, you could not hang anything on them... Of course, we wanted photos of family and friends, but you didn't want to take up valuable shelf space with frames... So, we improvised and just taped pictures up... or got that sticky putty stuff... Basically, it did not look that great, but it got the job done!

I am not sure what dorm life is like now.. But, if its anything like my days.. You will be excited to know of a new product that I get to share with you.  Have you heard of PhotoTrax?
Well, I heard about them and asked to check them out... I was pretty impressed and let me tell you why:
First of all, it is a little black "track" that you slide your photos in.  It is made to hold 4x6 photos... (Like straight out of the box.)  BUT, if you want to display larger photos.. Just snap it apart and move it to the size you want...
Second.. No holes!  It is hung with removable adhesive...  HELLO?!  PERFECT FOR DORM ROOMS,  AS WELL AS BASE LIVING... If you live in military housing, you know what I mean.. this works perfect...
Third, you want to change your photos... change them, just pop it out.. No more worrying about having to take the frame off and take the back off... you just do it right there...  While it is on the wall!!!!

See the adhesive area's?  Easy to assemble.

Hanging on our wall.

I think that this would be great for a kids room...
Example One:   Take photos of different things that will help with their alphabet..
Apple, Ball, Cat, Dog, Ear, Flag, Grape  or maybe take a picture of just the letter.
Example Two: Take photos of whatever their room theme is...
Transportation? Cars, Trucks, Trains, Planes..
That way, you can change the photos as their theme changes!!!!

This would also be great for any other room.  Showcase vacation photos.. Family get-togethers, whatever you want!  Then, you can rotate what the photos are on display whenever you feel like it!!!!

Right now, you can purchase the PhotoTrax in either white or black.
They sell for $12.99 a box (that is 4 trax per box)
Until June 7th, you can type in Blog in the discount code area and get $3.00 off.

So, what am I saying?
Know someone graduating?  Great gift idea as they head off to college...  They can hang photos up and not worry about it!
Know someone that lives on a military base?  Great "thinking of you" idea... They would love to hang more pictures without worrying about it...
Know a guy that hunts and has a hunting lodge?  Great Fathers Day idea for him to hang up pictures of his big ones!!!!
Know anyone that loves photos?  Great "I love you" idea!!!!
Basically, get this for someone you know would love it..
I think we need to order more... as I am trying to think how I want to do the boys room when they are here...

I will say, I only have one draw back.. You can only hang these horizontally.  I wish they would come up with a way to make a clip or something so that you can hang them vertically.

A Few Finlandia Recipes To Try...

I was so excited to have the chance to review Finlandia Cheese...
The recipes look amazing and I knew that as much as we all love cheese in this house, it was going to be nice to try a different kind..
Then, I was saddened... It is only at Harris Teeter (which we no longer have) and at Costco.
I swore a friend of mine had a Costco card, so I was all set... only to find out that they didn't... they just went with a friend!  So.......... I am still on my mission to try this cheese with these recipes that I have added for you, but I can not tell you personally if they are as awesome as they sound...

Sublime Submarine Sandwich

¼ lb Ham, sliced
¼ lb Salami, sliced

1 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp granulated onion
