Classic books always make the best gifts ...  Especially when it comes to kids books!  I am not sure if I ever mentioned it or not, but when my best friend threw a baby shower for me, she requested that everyone bring a childrens book instead of a card, that way we could start stocking up a library for Broxton!  I think that is the neatest thing!  You know, so many cards are around $5, so to spend the same amount and just write a note in the book or on the back of the book was awesome! We were recently sent a classic from childhood that I think everyone knows!   The Three Little Pigs , but this has a twist to it... it is a hard cover (padded) book for little hands to hold, but it has slide out images to tell the

Calling all Star Wars fans!   Calling all Star Wars fans!   I have a great gift for you!   We were sent an awesome book for review and this is going to be a main gift for Broxton this holiday season!  I know he will love it and since it is Star Wars, his brothers and dad will love reading it to him!   The book?   Star Wars - The Adventures of Luke Skywalker, Jedi Knight .  It is a hard covered book that is filled with page after page of illustrations and text.  Some images are full page, some just take up a small section, but all are amazing!  At 64 pages, this is a must have for all!    Book Synopsis:  The classic tale of good versus evil set in a galaxy far, far away quickly became a cultural phenomenon durin

Did you know that October was National Bullying Prevention Month?  At the beginning of the month, they had a "STOMP OUT BULLYING" day at Broxton's school.  Everyone was asked to wear blue shirts as a sign they were against bullying. I thought it was pretty awesome!  Being that bullying is something I am strongly against, I was glad to get 2 books that encourage people not to be bullies.  They are " The Principal Gang " books and follow Bli the Fly and Danny the Wizard Lizard. Image - Amazon The first book has us meeting Bli the Fly and her friend Danny the Wizard Lizard. There is a problem though... Bli likes hanging out with Danny, but since he is a lizard, Bli's mom doesn't want

Star Wars Rebels books are out now from Disney Publishing... but it gets better!  They even have a couple books from the "World of Reading" series, so today I get to share with you a Level 1 book and a Level 2 book.   Each of the books feature the characters from Disney's latest, Star Wars Rebels.  I reviewed 2 books yesterday, so make sure you check them out too!   Level 1 book -   Star Wars Rebels - Zeb to the Rescue .  This is a book that lets us get to meet Zeb.  He is a Rebel and loves to fight. The words in this book are simple and being that it is a level 1 book, it has word repetition to work on them learning to read.   Level 2 brings us  Star Wars Rebels - Ezra and the Pilot

Are you familiar with Star Wars Rebels?  It is the latest from Disney and Broxton is totally into it.  We were lucky enough to go see an advance screening of the Disney movie of it... then we had to watch it when it was released on Disney Channel (several times, I do have to say!)  So, when Broxton's class headed into the book fair the other day, I knew he was going to freak when he saw that they have Star Wars Rebels books now!   Yep, he sure did (as did the other kids as he showed it to them)  and I had to tell him to put them back... Little does he know that this mama right here already has him stocked and ready come Christmas time!   Now- let me tell you about the new release books from Disney Publishing!

I guess because I am always so worried about the flaps getting folded or torn... but in the latest book we were sent for review,  And Two Boys Booed  , I though the lift the flaps were fitting for the story!   In the beginning, I wasn't sure if I was going to enjoy this book, since obviously "two boys booed" lets you know that there is bullying of some sort going on... but I did want to read it to discuss what TO do and what NOT TO do with Broxton... We started out the book "On the morning of the talent show, I was ready to sing my song"  and it has the flap with the kid under the blanket it bed, and then you flip it to him flipping the

If your house is anything at all like our house, Star Wars is the "cool" thing right now.  I still am not sure when or how it started, but if it is Star Wars, you know my husband and son love it. (Remember, he has Darth Vader shoes and we have several photographs with Darth Vader, Storm Troopers and other Star Wars characters! Don't even get me started on the Lego aspect or all the cartoons we have on the DVR.) Anyways, on one of my many facebook visits, I noticed something about a kids book titled Goodnight Darth Vader and of course, that grabbed my attention!  I was lucky enough to get to review them and to say they have been a hit at bedtime is an understatement.  We were sent two books and I am telli

Image - Amazon  I have said it before, we LOVE books here!  We recently were sent a couple new books and I want to tell you about one today!   Little Elliot - Big City   was a super cute book to read and it really helps you to see the good in life.  In this book, we meet Elliot, a little elephant living in a big city...   Everywhere he goes, he has to be careful, since he is so little.  Each day faces challenges, but in the end Elliot always seems to appreciate the small things in life.  Then, one day him being so little really proved to be a struggle as he could not seem to get noticed...   He headed home, sad... but then noticed someone EVEN SMALLER THAN HE!!!!   The two worked together and in the end, added up to

Not that long ago, I was surprised with a nice treat...  A wonderful treat from Noosa yoghurt.  (If you have not tried it yet, you are missing out!)  With that treat came tickets to experience SkyView in Atlanta... that would be our big Ferris Wheel, for those not familiar with the area.  Of course, I was thrilled to add that to the list of awesome things I have been able to do with Broxton... But, I wanted to tell you about the yoghurt for now.  Image - Noosa I am sorry that I do not have  an image of the product to show you... Truth be told, as soon as it is opened, it is quickly enjoyed... and I actually tried taking photos a couple times, but they just did not turn out that great...  So - just take my word
