Time to Doodle and Have Fun with Doodle Roll

I don't know about your house... But around here, we like to stay busy...creative, artsy, fun, excited... and yes, we love to nap and lounge around too!

But, back to the exciting part of it all!!!
Whenever we go anywhere, I try to have something for Broxton to be entertained...

If we are going somewhere that we might be a bit, I try to bring a couple books or something...

I have now found a new idea to add to our creativity bag!
The Doodle Roll!
Have you heard of it?!
It is such a great idea, I am wondering why it has not been around for ages...

You know how some restaurants have kids coloring pages? Well, it is like that... but better!

The Doodle Roll is a cute and compact item.  (Meaning, you can throw it in your purse or diaper bag... )

It is a roll of paper (you pick, large or small roll... that means 15 or 30 feet!)
Also with the roll, it comes in a simple plastic carry case... WITH the crayons... and the carry case?  Yeah, it is a double duty thing... it can also be used to tear the paper!
What a great idea!

Back when I used to work in the sports bar... We would have parents bring their family in... and we were not a place to offer paper and crayons... this would have been a nice suggestion to the parents...
(No, not being rude.. remember I was there for ages... They were all like a second family to me.. I totally could have suggested that they might want to get these to have in their car for places such as ours...)

If you visit the Doodle Roll site, you will see the picture on their home-screen shows two kids coloring...

This would be a great party project.. rainy day fun.. or just a great everyday item to have!

Broxton is going to love this.. One for my purse and one for the house... for now...

I know more will come over time!

Will you do me a favor?  From now until April 3rd...
Doodle Roll is in a contest to "GET ON THE SHELF" at Wal-Mart...
It only takes a second to vote... So, will you head on over and vote for them?

Just click HERE to go vote...
Thanks so much!
You can vote daily from your facebook / text message.

This would be a great Easter idea... or stocking stuffer... never to early to start preparing!
(Broxton will be getting his in his Easter Basket!)
I personally think that this would be great for trips too... Not just in the car, but on the plane... and once you get to your destination!

Costume Discounters Has SO Much to Choose From!

I always thought that it was just little girls that liked to play dress up...
Until, Broxton!
He loves to dress up as a soldier man and be like his daddy...  or to pretend to be a pirate...

Well, I headed on over to see if I could find anything cute for when Broxton plays dress up.
He has decided that he likes talking about "super heroes"... not really sure where that has come from, but I have noticed that he is very much a sponge on any and everything these days...
So, I went to the costume discounters site and had to check out the boys TV costumes.

Sure enough... they had superheroes, trains, and even officially licensed WWE costumes!
I was a bit shocked to find these, so I was so excited to get it for Broxton!

Now, with this particular costume...
There is both a positive and a negative, in my opinion...

The positive?  The costume!
We not only got the cute WWE John Cena shirt (with built in muscles!)  We got the matching hat, wristbands and of course, the long jean shorts!  If you know anything about wrestling and John Cena, you know that he used to wear jean shorts.. he know wears camo shorts... but still...   with Broxton, they were more like pants on him... but then again, that just means he will grow into them over time!

The only negative was the neckline...
I felt that it was a bit to high... and when I closed it up on him, he did not really like it... as it was high and since it was the built in muscles, it was a thicker material that pushed into his neck a bit and made it uncomfortable.  If he chooses to wear this at Halloween, I will need to figure out a way to remedy that... Or... I could just go ahead and figure it out now, as he wears it around the house!

I have been really impressed with Costume Discounters!  I recommend checking them out for any reason that you might need to dress up... be it school, Halloween or just for fun!

Check Out the APP

This sounds pretty exciting, let me know if you have used it, plan to use it or anything like that! Launches Newly Updated Video Recipe App
Over 35,000 Cooking Videos in the Palm of Your Hand

Menlo Park, CA (April, 2012) -, the world’s largest food and cooking video website, is announcing the launch of the next version of its app, Recipe TV & Food Diary by The app helps home-chefs better plan and prepare their meals by enabling them to learn and cook from the comfort of their kitchen at any time that suits them.  Most “foodies” love to watch and learn from videos, but for those who find it helpful to have written instructions, the videos also come with a text-based list of ingredients and directions. The app essentially offers over 100 free cookbooks with video and without any need of a book case!
Through the free new app, home cooks will have access to an extensive on-demand library that can be used to discover recipes for any meal or occasion. The entire catalogue is organized in easy-to-navigate categories based on course, cuisine, ingredient, vegetarian, healthiness, flavor etc. and can be either browsed or searched.  In addition, the apps feature editor-selected daily specials and seasonal content.   The app also comes with smart recommendation technology that builds a taste profile for users based on their browsing history and recommends great recipes matching to their taste.

Key features include:
·         The world’s largest collection of video recipes: The newly launched app brings over 35,000 cooking videos to the palm of your hand. The videos clearly differentiate the app from the numerous other text-based recipe apps available in the app stores. These sumptuous videos are sourced from over 600 partners – professional chefs, TV shows, cookbook authors, food companies – and an in-house team of editors.
·         Diversity of Content: The huge library of recipe videos not only includes popular American foods but also meets the needs of ethnic communities such as Jewish, Mexican, Indian, Chinese etc., as well as special-interest groups such as Diabetic, Vegan, Raw Food, Pregnant, Kid-friendly food etc.
·         AirPlay Support:  If the user has Apple TV, Boxee or another airplay enabled device, all this content can be enjoyed on their big screen from the convenience of their living rooms; the simple press of a button will transfer this content onto the TV screen.
·         Food Diary: Users can maintain a diary of the food they eat by taking pictures.  They can even share the photos with friends via facebook and twitter.
·         Smart Search:  A search engine that draws on the extensive taxonomy of over one million food items that has defined for the food domain. The app allows for filtering based on cuisine, taste, health index, vegetarian course, ingredients and more. Recipes can also be searched using keywords.
·         Smart Recommendation technology. can recommend food that matches with a viewer’s taste by leveraging its big data analytics technology and semantic culinary knowledge base of over one million ingredients and dishes. For example, if a viewer watches several Italian recipes with cheese and broccoli, the app will start suggesting Italian dishes and dishes made from cheese and broccoli.
·         Playlist where users can create their own playlist by adding recipes to the list of favorites and come back to watch them later.

"You don’t need to run between your living room and kitchen anymore, trying to copy the cooking shows on TV,” says Alok Ranjan, Founder & CEO of “Your phone is all you need to create delicious dishes at any time." plans to expand its reach in the app community by releasing over 100 new niche apps. Specialty apps with similar content to Recipe TV & Food Diary will be available with content specific to different diets. For instance, Vegans will be able to download an app that only gives them recipes for meals that are in line with their eating habits.

I Really DO Put It On Everything! Franks RedHot

You know the old lady in the Frank's RedHot sauce commercials?
You know what I am talking about?  The lady that says " I put that $#!@ on everything!"

Well, let me tell you about her... I am a younger version of her!!!
For the longest time, I never liked hot sauce...

I was not a fan, then... I started to like hot wings a bit... but that was about it...
My friends would dip their fries in hot sauce, pour it on their food and all sorts of other thing, but not me...
That has all changed!
I was recently sent three bottles of Frank's RedHot sauce...

The Original, the Thick and the Sweet Chili.

It is just soooo good!  I think that the others I have tried have a weird taste, maybe a vinegar taste to it? Either way, this does not compare... I am totally digging it!
I have noticed that I really do put it on everything!
I have used the sauces to dip my foods... from veggies to meats and french fries.
I have used the sauce to add a bit of kick to my sandwiches...

If you want to use it in your cooking... (We have not done that yet, Broxton isn't really a fan of heat yet...)
They have several recipes on their site to help you out.
You just pick which sauce you want to use... and they list recipes for you to try it. Even if you aren't a fan, you might be by the time you look at the pictures they put with the recipes!!!!

Out of all of the sauces, I am the biggest fan of the Sweet Chili... it is just that good!!!

Here are a few recipes that we need to try:

Pocoyo and Earth Day ... We Can All Use the Help

To promote POCOYO’s Earth Hour initiatives, there is a new POCOYO DVD, FUN & GAMES.   The DVD, which will be released on April 3 SRP: $12.99, features POCOYO, the fun-loving, curious little boy with a big personality.  Watch as he explores, plays games and has fun with his friends Pato, Elly, Loula and Sleepy Bird. Viewers can join them as they stage their own version of the Olympics, create a magic show and ride the new, big, scary slide in the playground.
Broxton has really enjoyed this DVD, I hate to admit it, but I get a bit lost in their accent... (I guess that is what you call it?)  All I know, is as soon as it starts, I clean or do things around the house... He sits and has rest time and seems to zone out to the television.  He was in there trying to tell me something about Pocoyo, but I just could not get what he was telling me.  Once things get a bit back to normal, I plan to attempt to watch this with him, but until then...   With Earth Day being March 31st, I wanted to go ahead and share a few Earth Hour Activities that was sent to me...  Let me know if you plan on doing anything special that day!  Have a great day and don't forget the new Pocoyo DVD is available to own on April 3rd!
Show how much YOU love the earth and POCOYO by hosting a special POCOYO FUN & GAMES Earth Hour Party on Saturday March 31 from 8.30p.m. to 9:30p.m. local time.  To get started on hosting your own POCOYO FUN & GAMES Earth Hour Party, here are some easy tips for planning the perfect Earth-friendly party:
  • Make invitations out of recycled paper or send an email invite.
  • Use organic and locally sustained food.
  • Serve finger foods to skip using plates and utensils, and use cloth napkins that can be washed and used again.
  • Make dishes that don’t require the oven or electricity to prepare.
  • Be creative with food, ie, licorice ends can be cut off to make edible straws for the kids.
  • Family craft project – try making the special Keepsake holder out of an old cereal box (see instructions below).
  • Have a nighttime, outdoor, eco-friendly scavenger hunt by flashlight - hunt for recyclable items like milk cartons, egg cartons, etc.  Once the items are found, explain how they are used for recycling and to save our environment.
  • Have a recycled book exchange for the kids and adults, instead of favors.
  • Have fun and remember to have enough candles and flashlights for everyone to see!
As part of the new 2012 Earth Hour campaign, Zinkia Entertainment introduced POCOYO’s Recycling Game, available through, Earth Hour’s website ( and the Official POCOYO Facebook page (  POCOYO pledged to plant one tree, up to 10,000 trees, for everyone who played the new POCOYO Recycling Game.  The goal was reached in record time so Zinkia’s Chairman pledged to plant more trees, up to 10,000, for each person who played the recycle game. And, that goal was reached too in just a few days! The game has been so popular that Pocoyo has brought his challenge to entirely new level! NOW, if 100,000 people play Pocoyo's Recycle Game, Pocoyo will plant a total of 50,000 trees! The trees will be planted by Trees for the Future, Zinkia’s charity partner whose mission for 2012 is to plant 17 million trees!  You can also plant trees (.10 cents/tree) for Earth Hour by visiting

What would you be willing to do to help save the planet?  Visit the YouTube Earth Hour Challenge and see what you can do to help save the planet.  One brave person is willing to shave their head if 5000 people sign on to Earth Hour.  Another says she’ll wear whatever her daughter tells her to if 5000 commit to recycling in 2012.  ----- “take up the challenge” at and post YOUR own challenge.

POCOYO will be also be featuredin a new Public Service Announcement which will air on TV and online, and there are special POCOYO Earth Hour activity booklets available for downloading, as well as POCOYO Earth Hour screensavers and wallpapers for FREE at!

Earth Hour 2012 takes place Saturday March 31 from 8.30p.m. to 9:30p.m. local time as individuals, businesses, governments and communities are invited to turn out their lights for one hour to show their support for environmentally sustainable action. This single moment of contemplation for the planet unites hundreds of millions of people each year in celebration of their year-round commitment to protect and preserve the planet.
