I shared with you that The Hunger Games Mockingjay Part Two was finally released on DVD/ BluRay.  While I am happy to be able to see it, I am also sad that it is now over... What to do now????  I just wanted to share with you a few clips that all Hunger Games fans might want to see.  Enjoy!

Finally... Part Two of Mockingjay (also a 4 film set! YES!)

My mom read The Hunger Games and suggested I should read it as well.  We love books around here, so I borrowed all of her books from the trilogy and set off to read them.  Once I started, I could not stop and I was so thankful that I had all the books and could just go to the next one without waiting.   I wasn't so lucky with the movie.  I have yet to see the Mockingjay Part One, but I now have Part Two.  I keep saying I will just go on and buy it, since I have yet to find it in stock in a Red Box but when I go looking, it seems like I can only find Part Two since it was just released.  Anyways, I can go on and on about it, but I wanted to let you know that you should totally grab all of them and make it a movie marathon this weekend.

I love that the Hunger Games are good for a wide variety of ages and that you can enjoy both the book and the movie to see it.  I love the movies, my teenage niece enjoyed it and then my mom did too.  As I said, wide variety of ages.  Read below to learn more about the latest release.  I am not one to normally look at the bonus features, but this one looks pretty intriguing, especially since it has so much in the costume department that excited me.

Based on the third novel in Suzanne Collins’ trilogy, the must-own limited edition Blu-ray release is packed with over five hours of special features, including the “Pawns No More: Making The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 2” 8-part documentary – an in-depth look at the making of the film from production design, costumes, hair, make-up, stunts, special effects and post production. The documentary also includes a touching piece – from the last day of shooting – in which the cast reflects on their experience shooting the four films. Also included is a detailed look at Cinna’s sketchbook and a walk through the on-set photography along with audio commentary by director Francis Lawrence and producer Nina Jacobson. The Blu-ray is encoded in Dolby TrueHD and features a Dolby Atmos® soundtrack, which delivers captivating sound that places and moves audio anywhere in the room, including overhead, to bring entertainment alive all around the audience. The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 2 Blu-ray and DVD will be available for the suggested retail price of $39.99 and $29.95, respectively.

If you are trying to find a must have Mothers Day gift, why not look at the 4 film collection??

Also available for the first time as a set on Blu-ray, DVD and Digital HD, The Hunger Games Complete 4-Film Collection includes The Hunger Games, The Hunger Games: Catching Fire, The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 1 and The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 2 with all of the special features from each film’s initial release plus hours of all-new exclusive content including 13 never-before-seen deleted scenes from The Hunger Games and The Hunger Games: Catching Fire and two all-new featurettes: “Picturing Panem” and “Capitol Cuisine.” The Hunger Games Complete 4-Film Collection will be available on Blu-ray and DVD for the suggested retail price of $64.97 and $54.98, respectively.

Have you seen any of these movies? (Or read the books?) If so, which is your favorite???

The theme was dead... what was inside? @lootcrate review

Loot Crate is like Christmas morning each month at my house!   I am serious.  If you have been here before, you know that we have been lucky to have built a relationship with Loot Crate in offering you reviews of such a great subscription service.  Each month, we get a box FULL of super cool items that fans of all ages will love. Each month has a theme and recently it was DEAD themed!  Yes, Walking Dead and Deadpool!   Look below to see what all was in there!  (Even though my son does not watch Walking Dead nor has he seen Deadpool, he thought that this was all for him... Not a chance kiddo!  This is for mama!)

I love that the Loot Crate box arrives from the USPS in a plain black box... Then you open it up and get ready to explore!  Not to mention that the box can be turned inside out to be a storage box that is decorated for the months theme!
I did the box this way to show how you can make it look.  Plus all the goodies.
Deadpool shirt and figurine.  I know a few that want that already.
Then they had Walking Dead. I LOVE the Walking Dead, so I was stoked for it.  They had a figurine in there, it was in a plastic baggie, so you were surprised by who was inside.  I was hoping for Daryl since we met him, but it was Rick.  (Who jokingly now sits with our family photo's waiting for someone to notice.) It also included Soap on a Rope that were the ears Daryl wore around his neck. LOVE IT!
'
This was flipping the box the other way to be the Walking Dead theme.  See the zombies?  Yes, Broxton loves it and wants the box for his room.  You know what?   I am thinking I will use these boxes for cool gift giving this Christmas!   Score one for original design under the tree!
Each month loot crate treats you to a box full of goodies, but they also include a new #lootpin .  I love the lootpin for the collection of it, but I do wish that they would have the month on it like they did in the older pins.  We don't keep the paper they are on, as we have the pins on a special fabric hanging up.  Either way, I loved the design on this one.
A close up on the soap on a rope and walking dead figure.
Deadpool items.  I am not familiar with Deadpool, but I know it is a big deal these days!

All of the goodies from the LevelUp collection.  Again, "dead" themed.  We have a Walking Dead shirt, a silence of the lambs shirt, nails that have blood on them.  2 pair of socks and my favorite... a necklace from the Walking Dead.
Since I love my Walking Dead, I wanted to show a close up on the shirt.  It has Michone on the pocket..  I am not sure who I will be gifting this to, yet.
Stay tuned as I think I might make a giveaway with ONE item from a past Loot Crate for one of you!

With Mothers Day and Fathers Day right around the corner, you might want to look into one of these subscriptions offered from Loot Crate.  Talk about being the "favorite child" with a gift like this!

Our Pirate Island Adventure and an upcoming Adults Only Night @LDCATLANTA

We are lucky enough to have Legoland Discovery Center (Atlanta) near us and with a son that loves ANYTHING LEGO, we have been at least once or twice.  Who am I kidding?  We used to have season passes and we made it a point to go as much as we could.  Since having the baby, we don't get out to go as often as we once did, so I try to make up for it when I can.
Recently we were invited to go to a sneak peak for the new opening of their newest exhibit, Pirate Island.  Of course I said yes, I had to go check it out and it was a great gift for this awesome big brother we have here!

Whenever we go, Broxton loves to do the rides, build and play in the play area...
This time, I thought he was going to flip his lid!  (I did not tell him about the new exhibit, I just told him I wanted to take him someplace fun for the night!)

See this???  Yep!  It is the new Pirate Island Adventure.
This once had the children's play area back there.  Now it is a full on PIRATE ADVENTURE and you can go play with your child on all of it!

Off to one side they have a water play area! Build your ship and race it against others to see who makes it first!    I know water play has always been fun and this will be great for kids (and adults) of all ages!

The ship.  THE SHIP.  There is also sitting around the outer edges if you aren't one to go climbing in.
The backdrop for adventure awaits you all!

Another shot of the water play area.  I am telling you, they really outdid themselves this time around.  We had a blast and he has already asked when I will be taking him back!  Look for more images of that night on my Instagram page.

They also have a new Lego 4d movie, I was finally able to talk him into seeing it, but he was more excited about the play area that night. Make sure you take time to see it while you are there.  Its great to see Wyldestyle, Emmet and the gang again!

Please read the information below on the event.

2016 Amuse’um on Saturday, April 16
13th annual benefit features celestial celebration of fun and festivities;
Supports Museum’s childhood educational programming and community outreach

ATLANTA (March 24, 2016) – 3, 2, 1… blastoff! Children’s Museum of Atlanta is counting down to its 13th annual Amuse’um fundraiser, themed Out of this Word, on Saturday, April 16 from 7 – 11 p.m.. Presented by Georgia Natural Gas, this signature, adults-only benefit honors longtime Museum friends Elizabeth and Michael Klump, and supports the Museum’s mission to spark imagination and inspire discovery and learning for all children through the power of play. Guests are invited to come together and celebrate Atlanta’s only children’s museum with a celestial evening of fun, festivities and fare!

To set the scene for the extraterrestrial evening, Children’s Museum of Atlanta will be transformed into a stellar space odyssey with galactic games, gastronomy and activities galore. Attendees can check in with “mission control” upon arrival and wonder around the cosmos to enjoy cocktails and cuisine, the famed “wall of wine” game, an outer space scavenger hunt and much more. Amuse’um will also feature live music, dancing, raffle giveaways and live and silent auctions, including a modern Tuscan holiday for four people, an in-home catered dinner with wine pairing for eight people, a Kennedy Space Center experience for four people, an exotic 5-night getaway to Belize, courtside seats for an Atlanta Hawks home game, a premium suite to an Atlanta Braves vs. Nationals game, mid-field tickets to a Nashville Titans game, Walt Disney World Passes, tickets to the Sea Lions Experience at the Georgia Aquarium and many more!

Dedicated Museum supporter Nina Cheney is serving as the 2016 Event Chair, and other event committee members include Adam Abramson, Eleanor Anne Fann,  Carlton Hudson, Tracye Miller, Caroline Smith, and F. Michael Tesler.

This annual event attracts a diverse crowd of more than 500 attendees from across the greater Atlanta area, who contribute to the ongoing and important work of the Museum. All proceeds support Children Museum of Atlanta’s early childhood educational programming and community outreach that touches the lives of more than 200,000 children and families annually. Serving the children, families and schools in Atlanta and throughout Georgia, the Museum has welcomed more than 2 million visitors since opening in 2003.

With the premise that meaningful play provides the essential foundation for life-long learning, Children’s Museum features bright, hands-on exhibits designed to spark imagination and inspire discovery. By engaging children through the power of play, these exhibits introduce young learners to core educational concepts, laying the groundwork that will help children succeed in school and ultimately in the global economy.

*** This is not a paid post. I will be receiving passes to the Children's Museum for a visit at another time.  I wanted to post this as I love museums and think they are beneficial for all of us!

Stuffed Animal Sleepover at Chick-Fil-A (Macland Crossing!) THIS WEEKEND 4/15 - 16

If you live near the Chick-fil-A on Macland Crossing, you might want to plan to do something pretty cool this weekend!!!!    I was not paid to promote this, but as a #ChicfilAMom I am pretty excited. Lets be real here... as a mom... and a fan of Chick-fl-A, I am stoked!!!!  This is an email I received and thought I would share.  You can get emails like this too, just sign up for them!!!!
Time for our second annual Stuffed Animal Sleepover, Friday night,April 15, 5-7 pm and Saturday morning, 8-10 am. Here's how it works: bring your favorite stuffed animal (that you can spend the night without), and come to Macland Crossing Chick-fil-A. Wearing your jammies would be great! You'll make a craft or two based on a "sleepover" theme, then leave your animal overnight. During the night, your stuffed animal will enjoy all kinds of great fun with other stuffed animals, and we'll take pictures of all the merrymaking. Then in the morning, when you return to pick up your furry friend, we'll give you a free 3-count mini, as well as pictures of what happened during the night. It's a lot of fun, and we hope you will join us!

I don't know about you... but I am pretty excited to hear what all happens at the sleepover while everyone is sleeping at home!  What a cute and fun idea.
