This past weekend was pretty fun.  My parents came to town, we saw my kid brother, we had family movie night at home and watched Shrek.... then we had a NEIGHBORHOOD movie night and watched Kung Fu Panda 3.  OH MY GOODNESS.  It was so fun and busy, busy, busy!!!

So, let me explain Sunday night to you...  I thought about having a neighborhood movie night at the house and buying a projector to show it on the side of the house.(HOW FUN WOULD THAT BE?!)   I was all excited about it, until I saw that there was a wide range in price for a projector and I did not know what I needed.  Hello, if I get this projector, how do I play the movie?  How do we hear it? Yeah, those questions made me nervous... So then it hit me!!  THE CHURCH!!!  Our church does so much for the community, I thought it would be AWESOME to host a movie night there.  I spoke with our Children's Ministry leader and she was all for it.  SCORE!!!!

Flyers were made and passed out.  Announcement were made at church and on the church website. We decided to go with Sundae's and a movie, since it was Sunday night!   I grabbed  the ice cream and the toppings and we were good to go!!!!

Sunday night rolled around and we were ready to greet everyone. We had the goodies placed out for the kids and the movie was ready to be played.  It was a slow start and I was getting a bit nervous... Then they started to roll in.  Parents and children, teenagers and more.

The kids LOVED that they had things to do while we waited for the movie to start.  (We had glow sticks that somehow or another turned into swords for kids of all ages... and a few parents too!)  They had face masks of Po and Tigress and we even had activity sheets!

The Ice Cream Station was a big hit... Especially in this summer heat!!!!  Just go with plain vanilla and let them add the toppings they want!!!!

Yes, you send your kids up to get their own toppings and they go crazy!!!  We had a variety from M&M's to pineapples, marshmallows and cherries.  Of course no ice cream sundae is complete without chocolate and / or caramel fudge on top!!! (With so many people having nut allergies, I decided to keep this a nut free environment!)

The kids loved it and of course asked if we had popcorn too!  No worries, we did and you should have seen the smiles on their faces!    Ice cream to start and popcorn to finish? Sounds like a great movie night to me!!!

Even the adults got in on the Kung Fu Panda fun!!!!  This is one of the guys that works at the church.  I was very appreciative for the church helping to make this a success!

Once the ice cream was scooped, we were ready to settle in and start the movie.  Oh, did I mention we even told them they could wear their PJ's to make it even more fun?  Yep!!!   Good times!
We had this set up for the kids to grab what they wanted.  It was so funny when they asked how much it was and were shocked when we said it was all FREE.  They loved the goodies and we saved the bag tags to be a treat for them to grab on the way out.

On the way out they all got to choose if they wanted a Po or Tigress bag tag.  They all seemed to think it was pretty cool that they not only got to see a brand new movie, but they also got goodies from the movie to take home!  It was so sweet having the little children (we had around 25-30 kids under the age of 10 there!)  come up and say thanks for the movie and treats.  I have already had a few ask when we can do another movie.

If you are looking for something fun to do this summer (or even this upcoming school year) why not see about a neighborhood movie night for your community?  You can go big or small, totally up to you.. it is a fun way to get families together more!

What is another way you could do movie night besides Ice Cream and Popcorn?
What toppings do you put on your Ice Cream Sundae?

What did you do this weekend? #Shrek15Insiders #Swampathon

Picture this... Friday night.  You and your family are all out to dinner.  Your son invites his uncle back to the house for a movie night.  Since he is 26, he quickly says "No" as he has had enough FFF - a.k.a. Forced Family Fun.  It is okay, it is not the end of the world.  It is actually the 15th Anniversary of SHREK and we are having lots of goodies to go with the movie...  It's a #SWAMPATHON and GREEN POPCORN gets them back to the house for a little bit!!!

I will shout from the rooftops how lucky I know I am that I get to work with Fox Home Entertainment to review these different movies.  We were sent a green themed kit to celebrate Shrek and Fionna's 15th Anniversary.  It was full of items to make it a great family movie night and that was just what we did.  I thought I remembered Shrek, but once I watched the first one again, it seems as though I had forgotten key parts of the movie.  Not to worry, my dad was there to quickly point out what I had forgotten and I loved that we were able to watch a movie and the whole family enjoy it together.

Look how sweet they are.  My little brother and my baby girl!  We had a great time and as much as we love Shrek and family movies, this was a great choice to enjoy while my parents were in town!
I think I want to do another movie night this weekend and make green foods to enjoy or something to keep the fun times rolling!   Stay tuned and follow Jumpin Beans on Instagram, you just might see a little green faced Shrek on there soon!

MAKE SURE YOU ENTER THE GIVEAWAY for the 15th Anniversary Edition of the very first SHREK movie!!!!    IT ENDS SOON!!!!!

So much going on at Six Flags Over Georgia

Looking for something fun to do this summer? Have children?  Then let me tell you about the all new children's play area that has recently been added to Six Flags Over Georgia.  We were recently invited there for the grand opening and to say it is awesome is putting it very mildly. My son had a blast and it is great for kids of all ages!

We were lucky enough to go for the grand opening of Bugs Bunny Boomtown and all of the wonder Broxton had as we always rode by Six Flags over Georgia was finally brought to life as he got to experience it all. This time around, they were opening up the new DC Super Friends Zone.  We got there early to enjoy the park and then made our way to the DC Zone.  They announced that there would be a special guest and we were ready... If you follow me on Instagram you saw their entrance.
BATMAN and WONDER WOMAN were there!!!!

Batman and Wonder Woman were there for the ribbon cutting ceremony. This is them with the President of Six Flags Over Georgia for the event.
They stayed after the ceremony so people could get their photo with them.  It was pretty awesome!
We were treated to a nice lunch from Six Flags and then were able to continue on having more fun.
SUPERMAN Tower of Power, releasing the dare devil in thrill-seekers of all ages to take on this 65-foot tall bouncing thrill ride.  He was a bit nervous to get on at first. Once he was on he had a great time and as soon as he came off he immediately asked if he could ride it again.

The BATCOPTERS, an opportunity to help save Gotham City by flying high in the sky.
I love that the helicopters have controllers in there. You can make it go up and down on your own. He had a great time and I loved that it was just his size.  He was able to ride it solo, but as the crowds got a bit larger, they made them ride together so he quickly made friends with the other kids in there with him.
HARLEY QUINN Games, filled with villainous games to test your skills against the best in the family. After checking out the games, you are right there for the coaster!!!!  ( Kind of like a 2 in 1 for that!)  THE JOKER Funhouse Coaster, the supreme family thrill ride named after the ultimate Super-Villain, featuring 900 feet of track, speeding at 30 miles per hour.  We actually did not spend much time there because once he rode the Wonder Woman ride, that is where he wanted to stay!!!

I wasn't able to get a better shot of the Wonder Woman ride, but we have the memories!
WONDER WOMAN Flight School, where pilots can earn their wings by flying their own jet. As I said, this became his favorite ride.  You move the front to sort of direct it how to go.  He loved it!!!!
There were two things that stuck out that I really liked.
One - these rides are perfect for kids of all ages, but you don't have to have an adult.  Since having Broxton, I am not a huge fan of rides (I will ride them, but choose not too) It makes it harder with 2 kids and one being a baby.  She can't ride and this way we can go and enjoy the day still.
The other thing I like?  The fact that if you are enjoying the day in Bugs Bunny Boomtown, you can just cut through the Fun House to the rest of the DC Zone!!!  PERFECT!!!!

Again, Six Flags Over Georgia is a great way to spend the day. The BLUE HAWK recently reopened too!  They also have Hurricane Harbor, so make it a vacation to Atlanta and come for more than one day!!!

Here is a little more information for you:
Six Flags Over Georgia is also announcing the opening of Hurricane Harbor for its third season. The massive water park features acres of water thrills, including the award-winning Tsunami Surge water slide with a 45-foot zero gravity wave wall. Hurricane Harbor is free with park admission.

More than 6,000 votes were cast in the naming poll earlier this month.
Blue Hawk received more than 50 percent of the vote,
American Eagle finished second place
Air Commander in third place.

Blue Hawk will reopen with new ride enhancements, including:
· Two new coaster trains with new soft-vest restraints for a more comfortable experience;
· Enhancements to the 2,800 feet of track for a much smoother ride; and
· A fresh, new coat of shiny blue paint along the track and silver paint on the support poles.

The park is open daily through August 7

Net Effects Bag is so much more than just a bag.

As a mom, I need functionality.  When I shop, I look for items that not only look good and serve the purpose of what I am looking for, but also for the fact of making my life easier.  I can add an additional awesome quality to shopping now.  when shopping with net effects traders, you are also helping to make a positive change in the life of Cambodians.

I was recently sent a bag for review from net effect and I fell in love with the color as soon as I opened the packaging. It is a beautiful green color, with the front zipper standing out in an accent color of bright orange.  I will admit that it takes a bit getting used to the feel of the bag, since it is made out of netting.  I like the bag for a messenger bag for me, but I don't think I will be using it as a laptop bag like I originally planned.  My laptop is a bit too large to zip up, but more importantly, with a child under 1 and a very rough and active 7 year old, I would want my laptop bag to have more padding for security.  With me not wanting to make more trips that necessary, I try to carry it all in one go. That and a 7 year old that thinks he is The Incredible Hulk, he wants to help me carry as much as possible too.  (Again, more padding needed, for us.)

The bag I was sent is called BROOKLYN.     Again, I love it!  It will be my "purse" soon.  I fell in love with carrying a messenger type bag versus a traditional pocketbook ages ago, so this is totally my style!!!    The cross body strap allows me to carry this bag with ease, while also carrying the 8 million other items I need daily!   There are open pockets inside for whatever treasures my son gives me through the day, but also a nice size zippered pocket as well.

Once you zip the top, there is an additional pocket under the flap before you snap it closed.
Once you have fastened it all closed, there is yet another smaller pocket (remember  the orange zipper?) on the outside top flap.  With all the compartments, I would like to say it will keep me more organized, we shall see how that works!!!!

They have sleek looking blacks and browns, but also other exciting colors as well.  I went with green, but I have seen yellow, reds and pinks on their website.  Do you use messenger type bags?   What color would you wear as your bag?  This would make a great bag to not only look nice but make a statement as well for a kid you know heading off to school!
