Synopsis
The FANTASTIC FOUR make a triumphant return with MARVEL’s next generation of heroes — four young outsiders who teleport to an alternate universe, their physical forms altered in shocking ways. Their lives changed forever, Reed Richards (“MR. FANTASTIC”), Sue Storm (“INVISIBLE WOMAN”), Johnny Storm (“THE HUMAN TORCH”) and Ben Grimm (“THE THING”) must harness their incredible new powers and work together to save Earth from a former friend turned enemy, the infamous DR. DOOM.

I was excited to get the chance to review this, as I know how much Broxton enjoys everything "Marvel," It was pretty cool too, since Marc remembered Dr. Doom and the cast from his younger days.  We decided to watch it when the brothers were here for the holidays, as I thought it would be a great movie that everyone would like.  Everyone agreed that it was sort of a slow go to get the movie going. One of the boys even noted that it took over an hour for them to turn into the super hero characters, so that left much to be desired.
I think if you are a fan of all Marvel, you will enjoy it..but if you are looking for more action, this might not be the one for you.  I though they could have left the profanity out (there wasn't much, but when you are watching with your 6 year old, you don't want someone calling another person a "D..K" and no, that does not stand for DORK.)
All in all, I would probably rate it a B-  or even a C.
(I am thinking I am going to start grading the movies for the new year.  You know, like schools go A for best to F for failing... Leave me a comment if you saw it and tell me what you would grade it as.)

Actually, if you have not seen it yet, you can win a copy here and hopefully win!  Then come back and let me know what you would grade it as!   Enter the Rafflecopter form below:

Being part of the Fox Home Ent. Insiders group, we get pretty cool things from time to time to go along with the movies we are reviewing.  This time, we were sent a great box full of fun things to do over Christmas break.
Box full of fun activities.
Up first? The invisible ink pen.
***  He asked if I used it if I would become invisible. Don't know if it was for the cool factor having me invisible, or if he was hoping to get rid of me.  I was scared to ask!

We have now been enjoying making SLIME!!!  Did you know if you switch the M and the L you get SMILE???  Yep,.. that is what we have been doing. Laughing and smiling A LOT!!!!
We tried this first, but did not have much luck...
ended up moving on to another form of slime!
Messes are not a strong point for either of us, so it took a minute to get used to making slime...
 but we did it!!!
I don't know when we have laughed so hard, but this activity sure had plenty of them...
Want a laugh too??
We were carried away in the excitement and didn't think about the food color messing up our hands.
We look like relatives of the smurfs!!!!
We still have two more activities left, so stay tuned...

Make sure you enter the giveaway for the movie coming out in just a bit.
(and follow on Instagram to see about our other activities!)

Christmas break means lots of time at home with family. With the weather being rain, rain and even more rain... We have not been out much, but that means we have been watching more movies and making more memories!  I heard of The Maze Runner movie, but had never seen it. Then, it was on one night and we watched it.  Lucky for us, because the next day, The Scorch Trials arrived and we were all ready to watch it!
Synopsis

The Maze was just the beginning. After the harrowing adventure of escaping the maze, the Gladers find themselves right in the center of an epic mystery in MAZE RUNNER: THE SCORCH TRIALS.  There’s more action, more excitement and more spectacular effects in this thrilling new chapter of the epic Maze Runner saga by James Dashner.
They may have escaped from the Maze, but Thomas (Dylan O’Brien) and his fellow Gladers now face a greater challenge: searching for clues about the secret organization known as WCKD. Their journey leads them to the Scorch, a desolate wasteland filled with unimaginable dangers.  The mystery deepens at every turn as the Gladers work together to discover their purpose and battle to survive in this must-see, electrifying adventure!

Real Gladers are in line for the greatest of presents this winter, as the MAZE RUNNER: THE SCORCH TRIALS Ultimate Fan Edition on Blu-ray includes an exclusive, 24-page printed comic-book with two new prequel stories from BOOM! Comics.  In addition, two hours of thrilling bonus content, including deleted and extended scenes will take fans further behind-the-scenes of the suspense and action-packed journey through the Scorch and more!

Now, I do feel that you need to see the first one in order to enjoy the second, I will tell you that from the beginning.  We really enjoyed it and it was actually a movie that my husband sat down and watched (both of them!)  That doesn't happen that often!
The good news?  I enjoyed it.  The bad news?  I have to wait for the final one!!!  (I have no patience!)   I enjoyed them both, very action packed and sure to have you sucked in throughout the whole movie!

Are you a "gamer" or a "geek" or a "nerd?"  If you are, you are going to want to check out Loot Crate.  I know Christmas is almost here and for some people that means they are just now getting ready to start shopping.  Others have been finished for months, but there are some still looking for that one AWESOME gift.  Look no further if you have someone on your list that fits one of the words I first mentioned.
We had the chance to review Loot Crate and this is a subscription box that many will enjoy!
Don't let the plain black box fool you.  You are getting ready to be blown away by what all is inside.
If you purchase just one month, with shipping and everything you are looking at right under $20.  I was surprised by all that was inside:
The Loot Crate we received was for November, it was a COMBAT theme.  (PERFECT for a 6 year old boy that has older brothers and a military daddy!)  Inside was a little of this and a little of that.
We received a magazine telling what all was inside.  A comic book.  (I think this is the first actual "comic book" that Broxton has ever seen, yet I grew up with them. Realized I am slacking in that department.  Will be changing that soon!)  A set of magnets (he was excited as they are learning about magnets at school right now) a figurine, a bobble head and a pair of sunglasses.
They also offer LEVEL UP (cool apparel)
If you get the Level Up Bundle, you can see that you will be getting great clothing!
From shirts to socks, bags to jewelry...
There is the element of surprise as to what will be included!

So, with Christmas basically here... you can surprise the gamer loved one on your list with a subscription.   Maybe you receive money for Christmas, why not gift YOURSELF a subscription?  Of course there is the "just because" gift or birthday or rewards for a job well done. What I am saying is this...   If you give this gift, I know you will put a smile on someones face!   (I am NOT a gamer, geek or nerd... that I know of  and I was super impressed with this.)  They have Call of Duty Limited Edition Boxes as well as Star Wars, I KNOW we all know someone that likes one of those!
Head on over to check them out now!  You can thank me later!

Do you have certain holiday traditions that you do each year?  Growing up, I remember ours just like it was yesterday.  We would go to my moms parents house on Christmas Eve, have dinner with moms side of the family and do our gift exchange with my grandparents.  Then, we would load up and drive home.  Once home, we would do Christmas with each other and then go to bed.  The next day, we would go to my dad's moms house and do Christmas with my dads side of the family.  After exchanging gifts with my grandma, we would go home and rest, play with our gifts from everyone and when younger, my grandparents would all come over that afternoon to see what Santa brought us.  Of course the tradition continued like that until I got married. Then it was time to have our own traditions.
The first couple of years, we still went home, but once Broxton came along, we had to change it...
Now, we have our own traditions. I will admit I was pretty nervous the first year I decided to host Christmas at our house.  That meant I had to cook for everyone and it had better be good.  There are two items that are must haves:

Bake at 350° F, uncovered, 25 minutes or until bean mixture is hot and bubbling. Stir bean mixture. Sprinkle with remaining onions.
Bake 5 minutes longer or until onions are golden brown.

Another must have is a bread of some sort...
We love the cornbread that has actual nib-lets of corn in it...

As you set out to make the best meal and make great memories...
Make sure you take a second to read the Stress Relief Tips from Del Monte:

DEL MONTE'S TOP FOUR HOLIDAY MEAL STRESS RELIEF TIPS

* STRATEGY #1:  FAKE THE FANCY
Use special garnishes to make each dish look more spectacular without the stress. For instance, try lining your meat platter with lemon leaves, clusters of rosemary sprigs, and citrus wedges.

* STRATEGY #2:  HAVE A SECRET INGREDIENT
Even adding just one special ingredient can totally reinvent your favorite dish without creating more more work for you. Add apple cider to your gravy for a sweet change up or add cranberries to your horseradish sauce for a tangy twist.

* STRATEGY #3:  WORK IN TECHNICOLOR
Go the extra mile by introducing different and surprising colors into your traditional holiday menu (instead of more complicated and stressful recipes).  If your holiday dinner table looks a little drab, add a dish in radiant yellow like Del Monte's Cheddar Corn Casserole.

Del Monte Cheddar Corn Casserole recipe:

* STRATEGY #4:  TWIST YOUR TRADITION
Experiment with simple, easy ways to enhance your holiday staples without the fuss.  You could add crispy bacon to your green bean casserole, stir some caramelized onions into your mashed potatoes, or make a double-nut pie by combining both pecans and walnuts.

With Christmas almost here, I have two final Christmas books for you.  (I tell you, every single time I walk in a store, I am tempted to buy even more... we love books!)  These are two that I know will be a hit for years to come. One is for the younger crowd for sure, but will be enjoyed by all ages.  The other is one for every single age you can imagine, aren't we all kids at heart?
Up first is a cute and fun one... The Runaway Santa . We loved it as much as we loved The Runaway Pumpkin that we reviewed for Halloween.  In this book, Santa has so much to do and half of the fun of reading it is to see where Mrs. Claus is hiding on each page.  I wish there was a way to capture the excitement on Broxton's face as we turn each page to see the next journey!

The final Christmas book to share with you..  The Night Before Christmas - A Brick Story .  For sure this is one for kids of all ages.  It is the Night Before Christmas story,,, with the illustrations made completely of Lego sets.  So cute and so fun!   (It made me want to run out and buy one of the lego advent calendars so I could try and recreate some of the scenes for our house!!!!)
I know when I surprise a certain fan with this book for the Night Before Christmas Reading he is going to flip!!!!

Do you read books the night before Christmas too?  Do you do the book countdown or anything like that as far as traditions being made for each year?

Do you travel during the holidays?  Do you travel throughout the year?  I know when my mom goes on a road trip, she has to have blankets and pillows and everything else under the sun. THAT STUFF ADDS UP for storage space, you know?  Well, there is a solution that we were recently introduced to and I think you guys need to know about it.
It is PillowCape and it is a travel pillow with a blanket too.  If you are not cold, you can turn it into a cape and have a blast playing with it too! As I said, PillowCape is a nice sturdy travel pillow but... they went even further and added a strip of Velcro to each end.  This makes it perfect to keep the blanket in place, if you are looking to catch a few zzz's... but it makes it turn into an AMAZING cape for the Super Hero in us all!!!!
PillowCape in the packaging, perfect for gift giving.
Let your inner Super hero SHINE!!!
As you can see, he is fake sleeping. This kid never sleeps!!!   Well, he tells you that he never sleeps, but he has been known to catch a few winks from time to time.. at night.  NEVER DURING THE DAY - Napping is his biggest enemy!
As you can tell, we had no time for naps, we had to try out the cape aspect of it.  Time to go running around!!!  I tried to get another picture of it, but he was lighting fast and it was all just a blur.

We really enjoyed the PillowCape.  They offer them in small and large.  I would recommend a small for toddlers or those that are rather small.  He is 6 and a half... DO NOT FORGET THE HALF!!! (He is a big 6 year old) and the small was a bit too short for his liking.  While the large is a bit too big, he would be able to cover up more on road trips, so that is what we will be using.   The PillowCape also let you choose the color combo you want.  You can do red/blue or black/grey.  As you can see, red/blue looked like more fun, so that was the color combo we went with!  (A certain someone will be getting a more neutral black/grey combo for Christmas!)

Do you travel with a pillow or anything when you go on adventures?

Do you send Holiday Cards?

FTC Compliant Review Policy:
The product(s) featured in this review were provided free of cost to me by the manufacturer or representing PR agency for the sole purpose of product testing. Opinions expressed are my own and are NOT influenced by monetary compensation.

Are you a fan of holiday cards?  I am a fan of "snail mail" in general and during the holidays, I get so excited every time I go to the mailbox.  I can't say that the rest of the year, since it seems like no one likes to send written letters and all that is in the box is bills or junk mail.  Christmas though, yep...  Every time I see a card, I get all giddy... I love the photo cards, as it is so cute to see the photos that were chosen for the cards.
Growing up, I remember my parents would get so many cards, I loved the thought of the older I got the number of family photo cards that I would receive.  Seems as though facebook and text messaging is killing my dreams man!    Now, more and more people just post a "Merry Christmas" post on facebook and call it a day.  Yes, I do that too, if I am online and think about it... but the cards seem so much more personal and let the individual person know that they were thought of.
I love the cards so much that once I was on my own, I sent mine out (like around 300...  I was so excited to be an "Adult")  and when I started receiving some addressed to me, I taped them up on the door frame for all to see.  One year I taped them on the door, trying to resemble a tree.  Now that we have a house, I have this little ribbon with decorated clothes pins that hold them up.  I told you, I LOVE THEM!!!!  Of course, if they have pictures, they get saved for the end of time, in a scrapbook type binder, if they have sweet notes, they are put in a box,  If it is just the signature, I try to find a way to recycle and use them for something else the following year.  I never sent photo cards, until I was married. Then, we went with a family photo from our wedding.  Eventually it was the card with Broxton and Santa and then each year I add a photo of whatever a key event that year was.  (or just an updated family photo.)  The number of cards has since DRASTICALLY been reduced, but the joy I have in sending and receiving is still there.

Here is an outtake of the photo session where we tried to get a cute picture for this years card.

This year- you KNOW we had to do a photo card.  Hello!!!  We finally have a baby girl among all these boys!!!   I had to find the perfect card, it is hard getting "family" photos with the boys not living close and everyone being so busy. (Who knew a 6 year old could have such a busy social life too?!) Thanks to Zazzle, we ended up going with a collage photo so that way we could get the brothers in there and not be just the youngest two.  (Side note, they have great gift ideas as well!  Was able to get a great keepsake for me and an ornament for Savannah's first Christmas too!)
Someone commented that people are fake on facebook, always posting the positive and never the days of screaming and crying.  Well, I don't think that it is because someone is fake, it is just that we are trying to remember the good.  Or maybe there is so much negativity already, why add more?  Add sunshine and smiles.  Either way, we had a time trying to get a good shot for the cards this year.  At first she was enjoying it, but it was hard to get a photo with her moving so much... then it turned into a meltdown and we called it a day!   Just had to share one of the pictures not chosen to be on the card!

As the year comes to an end, take a minute to think about those near and dear to you. If you send Holiday Cards, awesome!  If not, why not think about making Happy New Years cards and send them out to get the new year off great?  I know I can not be the only on that loves looking at the cards through the years and seeing how big the kids have grown.  Again, I know we have facebook and can snap a photo and text it immediately, but think of the excitement when they go and open their mail box, seeing that you took a minute out of your day to send a card to let them know they were thought of?!

If I am not online to say it, HAPPY HOLIDAYS TO YOU AND YOURS!

I love photos and I am so in love with photos on canvas.  We have a couple photographs that we have hanging up in our house.  (Actually have a few that are not of people, but are beautiful scenery photos that we took that are on our main wall in the living room.)  When Savannah was born, I knew that I really, really, REALLY wanted a nice large photo of her and Broxton - on canvas.  There is just something about a large canvas print. It speaks volumes to me.  Anyways, we had pictures taken of them at the hospital (they change so much those first couple of days!) and I knew that I had the perfect one of them that I wanted blown up large.  Make it even better, I love that it was done in black and white.  I was so excited to have the chance to work with Canvas Pop for this process and with the holidays coming up, I thought I would share with you a great company that produces great finished products!  If you are looking to get a great photo printed on canvas, head on over to see what they offer.  I really appreciated the communication that they had with me the entire time, from the start to the finish...   Isn't this just too cute?????

The proof from Canvas Pop showing my order.
As I said, I love the photo and it proudly hangs in our house when you first walk in the door!!!! Are you a fan of photo's on canvas?   Capture that perfect image this season and print it out to enjoy for years to come!!!!

A blogger friend of mine sings praises about probiotics and to be honest with you, I have heard of them... but have never used them.  Until now... Let me clarify that though.  I have yet to use them for me (I know I need to and that is on my to do list, but I have been giving them to Savannah.)  I read online it was great to give it to them even more so after they were on antibiotics to try and help with adding the good bacteria back. I have yet to notice any difference, but then again, we are just now getting started with using them.
I wanted to share that Mommy Bliss has released BABY PROBIOTIC DROPS. (I thought this was very informative to read about probiotics and c-section babies.)  We use several of their products.... if you are not familiar with Gripe Water, you might want to get some and keep it on hand if you have a little one.

This product is pediatrician-recommended, 100% vegan and vegetarian, and quickly becoming a favorite amongst health-conscious parents. Formulated with non-GMO Corn Oil and the live culture Lactobacillus Rhamnosus GG, this new product safely and effectively eases babies’ digestion.

Probiotics are living microorganisms that scientific research has shown to benefit human health. Most commonly these are bacteria, but they may also be yeasts. In some cases they are similar to, or the same as, the microbes already found in a healthy digestive tract. Many probiotics were originally isolated from common fermented foods such as yogurt. Mommy’s Bliss Baby Probiotic Drops contain the live culture Lactobacilus rhamnosus GG, the most widely studied probiotic in the world with over 800 scientific publications attesting to the safety and healthfulness of these beneficial bacteria. Like all dietary supplements you should discuss the use of probiotics with your baby’s doctor.

I know several people are having babies in the next month or two.  Make sure you head over to see what all Mommys Bliss has to offer.  Make them a gift basket to have on hand when they need it most!!!   Also, keep in mind when a baby is crying and no one can seem to get them to stop, mama would do almost anything...  Gripe Water and Probiotics would be a welcome stocking stuffer for mama to get a break!

I work hard at making sure my loved ones get just the right gift for Christmas.  Yes, I know it is NOT about the gift, but I love seeing their face when they open up the gift I got them.  It is most exciting to see the joy on my sons face, as it is all still so magical to him. (and now we get to see the magic all over again with our daughter.)  Well, this year, I have a bit of a dilemma.  I was sent an AWESOME  DARTH VADER gel ink pen from Cross. As soon as I was told about it, I knew it was going to be a gift - to me, from me!  It arrived and I was impressed.  (I am a new Star Wars fan, I will admit that, but I know of all the characters from my husband and son!)    I sat it over on the bookshelf, as I was going to use it to address all of my Christmas cards.
As soon as a certain 6 year old came home and saw it, he was so excited!
"Mom!!!!  Thank you so much, I LOVE my pen!!!"  Except, the pen is STILL not for him!
The Darth Vader gel pen arrives in a nice box with the Star Wars logo on it too.

I tried to get a front and back shot for you to see all of the detail they put on it.
On the front, you have VADER with the Darth Vader mask on the clip.  On the back, you have the Star Wars logo and the cross logo.

I was very pleased with the writing.  The gel pen gives it a nice smooth flow about it.  I did not notice any area's where it skipped or anything like that. (Like I have noticed with other pens.) I am sorry kiddo, but this pen is mamas!!!! Yeah, I had to break the news to him.  It was not a gift for him, but rather a treat for me.  I will share with him from time to time, but this is one I will be holding on to tightly!!!
If you know a Star Wars fan, you will want to look at the Star Wars Collection at Cross.  They have Darth Vader, C-3P0 and of course, the Storm Trooper.  Head on over to check it out!!!

As if it being Star Wars isn't enough...
