I mentioned before that Broxton has been saying he wants to learn Spanish...
Well, come to find out, each Tuesday, they go to "Spanish Class" and work on learning a couple words/phrases.    I used to think that Broxton would think Dora was "girly" and would not want to watch it, but guess what?  He loves it... for the Spanish he learns!
We watch it from time to time and he repeats the words when he is supposed to!  That makes me a proud mama!!   I can not wait to see his face when he sees he has a new Dora DVD- Dora's Ice Skating Spectacular!

Available in stores on Tuesday, November 5th. Join Dora and Boots as they skate to the rescue of the Snow Princess, Snow Fairy and all their Snowy Forest friends! Plus, enjoy two extra adventures as Dora catches a runaway train and races to rescue Boots with her puppy and Scooter.

Broxton absolutely loves Bubble Guppies and Team Umizoomi.   I love it too, as they TEACH and Broxton really seems to learn when he watches it.  I know that all shows for his age "try" and teach, but some are better than others...   He even requested a Bubble Guppies book from the school book fair this year!
Since he just loves these characters, I was so excited to get the Bubble Guppies / Team Umizoomi DVD for review:   Into the Snow We Go

If you are looking for a one of a kind gift idea... I have just the thing to tell you about!  If you remember, a bit ago I had the chance to review the "Owl Always Love You" book from Flattenme.   Well get this... they have so much more than just books!!!  (Although their books are awesome!)  Now, you can make a personalized t-shirt for that special someone!!!!
Flattenme has t-shirts that are sure to make everyone smile.  From Astronauts to Fairies...  Fireman or Ballerinas!  I ALMOST went with a hero shirt and had Marc's face put on it... but then I thought it would be awesome to have Broxton as a super hero so I surprised him with this:

I think he thought it was neat to have a super hero shirt... but then he realized it was a PERSONALIZED SUPER HERO SHIRT and he was so excited!!!   He immediately wanted to wear it to school and let me tell you about that...
He got out for carpool and the teachers all noticed his shirt as soon as he was out of the car!   He had to find his old teacher on the playground to show her his shirt and when I picked him up from school?  He was so thrilled to tell me that "All the teachers were calling me SUPER BROXTON" all day long!!!!
So- if you are looking for a great gift idea this year...
Head on over to see what Flattenme has to offer...
I bet you will get smiles just as big as I did when they open it over the holidays!!!

Planes & National Aviation Month

This is not a sponsored post, just sharing.

You know we went and saw Planes at the Theater... and we LOVED it...
Broxton already has Planes, the movie, on his Christmas list!!!

This November, Disney salutes National Aviation History Month, a month-long celebration of U.S. aviation’s storied past, with the release of the high-flying family adventure “PLANES” on Blu-ray™, DVD, Digital HD and On-Demand on November 19, and through educational partnership with aviation museums across the country.

Beginning November 1, 2013, select aviation museums will feature “PLANES”-inspired learning materials designed to introduce children to the exhilarating world of flight and its most celebrated figures. These materials include the Disney “PLANES” Reel, featuring “Top Ten Flyers,” a countdown of some of the greatest aviators in history hosted by ESPN’s Colin Cowherd, “Aviation Fun Facts” tip sheets, and activity sheets families can fill out while visiting their favorite aviation museums. For more information on participating museums, please visit the Planes Facebook page.

To further celebrate National Aviation History Month, Disney will release the spirited animated comedy “PLANES” on November 19 for families to enjoy at-home. Throughout our nation’s history, the world of flight has given us such influential role models as the Wright Brothers, Charles Lindbergh and Amelia Earhart, all famous aviators who proved that, no matter how high their dreams, with imagination, hard work and perseverance, anything is possible. Now, the world of Disney animation gives families everywhere a new kind of high-flying role model in Dusty, the crop dusting plane with sky-high dreams at the center of Disney’s “PLANES.” His indomitable spirit reflects that of history’s great aviators and is sure to inspire children’s imaginations to take flight this November.

Movie Night With Adults - The Heat

Most movie nights around here are animated, or at least geared towards children...
I was excited that my mom was here and we had the chance to watch The Heat, starring Melissa McCarthy and Sandra Bullock.  Now, I don't watch the TV show with McCarthy in it, but my parents do and they just love her... But, I am a fan of Sandra Bullock (and lets be real, the times I have seen McCarthy, she seems pretty funny, so I was eager to check it out.)
I will say that although I am no saint, I am think that the movie industry has a hey day with dropping F-Bombs all the time...   and this movie is no exception... but, it wasn't as bad as other movies I have seen, so we really enjoyed it.  Mom and I were both cracking up laughing... Only thing that would have made it better was if they had chosen to leave out the profanity... Maybe not all, but at least some...    Other than that, it was hilarious!
Synopsis:
Oscar® Winner Sandra Bullock* and Oscar® Nominee Melissa McCarthy** are a “dynamite duo” (George Pennacchio, KABC-TV) in this outrageously funny comedy from the director of Bridesmaids, Paul Feig. Uptight FBI Special Agent Sarah Ashburn (Bullock) and foul-mouthed Boston cop Shannon Mullins (McCarthy) couldn't be more incompatible. But when they join forces to bring down a ruthless drug lord, they become the last thing anyone expected...buddies.

I just loved reading about Clumsy Duck.
This, to me, was a great story about friendship!!!

In Clumsy Duck, we meet Duck and Chick.
As duck tried to walk, she is constantly falling down...   Chick tries to help, but it seems like there is no getting around it... Duck is clumsy!
Then, chick notices their prints and sees that duck has much bigger prints...   Maybe that was why she was so clumsy...     The longer they walk, the more clumsy duck appears..   until....

Until what?  I can't tell you... You will need to get the book and read it...
I loved that it was a great story and that chick didn't give up on his clumsy friend...
You just have to look to find what is best for you and your situation...
Everyone has hidden talents and maybe your friend needs to help you find yours!

This will be added to our  Christmas Countdown!!!

Broxton knows his ABC's, so we don't have to worry about buying all sorts of ABC books, but it is nice to have books to review with him and it is always exciting to have a new type of book to look at.
We were sent an "American Museum of  Natural History" ABC Animals book and I was very impressed.
This is a board book, so it is a very sturdy book... but it is also a good sized book so there is no need to worry about losing it and it is large enough to have a couple kids share it looking together.

In ABC Animals, we get to learn all 26 letters of the alphabet, but we also get to meet some of the cutest animals...  Up first, A is for Armadillo's...   I loved that, since his soccer team was the Armadillo's!
Each letter has a very bright and colorful illustration...   some pages were full shots of the single letter, but others were split with 2.   Each animal has a small section with a bit of text that tells a fact of the animal being highlighted.

Broxton will be getting this for one of his books for Christmas Countdown.    I know he will really like it since it has 26 animals for him to read and learn about!!!!

Bully Bean - #ChristmasCountdown

FTC Compliant Review Policy:

Adding to my collection of books to do a Christmas Countdown with Broxton, we now have Bully Bean.  We have read a few of the Lima Bear books in the past, so I know Broxton is going to love seeing his old friend, Lima Bear!

I really like reading books that talk about bullying. We talk to Broxton about telling us if there is a situation about bullying ...   If it happens to him, tell someone... if he sees it happening to a friend, stand up for them... and we also talk about him being a good boy and not being a bully to others.
I was happy that Bully Bean was sent to us.
This is a book about a Big Bear that is nicknamed "Bully Bean."
He is mean to everyone and all the other bears are just so very scared of him.
One day, Bully Bear is bullying Lima Bear and he gets stuck under a big rock, too big for him to move by himself.  Lima Bear left him, but he left him to go and get him help.  Lima Bear returns with all of the bears (that were terrified of him) and they worked together to free him.  Bully Bear could not understand why they helped him, since he was so mean to them... But they had to help him, since he was a bear!
This was a great story about not bullying, as you never know who you might need to help you..
But it was also a great story telling you that even if you are bullied, you should still help out if you can.

I loved the story (and illustrations)  but I really loved that the end of the book had an "extended learning" section.  We will for sure be looking at that when we open this for our Christmas Countdown.
