You know how you see previews for a movie and it stays on the list for a "must see?"  I don't know about your house, but at ours, the list gets rather lengthy if the kiddo is in charge of it.  We saw the preview for Inside Out at some point and it hit his radar as one to watch, so then every time it was on TV, he had to mention again and again and again...
To say I was happy to get an invite to an advance screening would be an understatement.  We were THRILLED.
Not only to see the movie, but also so that I would not have to be reminded over and over and over again that he really, REALLY wanted to go see it.

We headed to see the movie and after popcorn and a drink, we were ready to go.
Have you seen the previews for Inside Out yet?  Let me give you the synopsis:
Do you ever look at someone and wonder what is going on inside their head? Disney•Pixar’s original new film “Inside Out” ventures inside the mind to find out
Based in Headquarters, the control center inside 11-year-old Riley’s mind, five Emotions are hard at work, led by lighthearted optimist Joy (voice of Amy Poehler), whose mission is to make sure Riley stays happy. Fear (voice of Bill Hader) heads up safety, Anger (voice of Lewis Black) ensures all is fair and Disgust (voice of Mindy Kaling) prevents Riley from getting poisoned—both physically and socially. Sadness (voice of Phyllis Smith) isn’t exactly sure what her role is, and frankly, neither is anyone else.
When Riley's family relocates to a scary new city, the Emotions are on the job, eager to help guide her through the difficult transition. But when Joy and Sadness are inadvertently swept into the far reaches of Riley’s mind—taking some of her core memories with them—Fear, Anger and Disgust are left reluctantly in charge. Joy and Sadness must venture through unfamiliar places—Long Term Memory, Imagination Land, Abstract Thought and Dream Productions—in a desperate effort to get back to Headquarters, and Riley.
Directed by Academy Award® winner Pete Docter ("Monsters, Inc.", "Up"), produced by Jonas Rivera, p.g.a. ("Up") and featuring an original score by Michael Giacchino ("The Incredibles," "Ratatouille," "Up"),
Disney•Pixar's  "Inside Out" opens in theaters on June 19, 2015.

To say that this is a good movie does not give it justice. As I watched the movie, it sort of gave me, as the parent, a friendly reminder of all the thoughts and emotions that you deal with while growing up.  Yes, as adults, we have our fair share, but remember, as a child, we are still learning what all they mean and how to deal with them... Is it sadness or fear?  Are you angry? I have since learned that they thought about adding another emotion to the group, but ended up deciding against it.  I am glad that they didn't as it might have started to be a bit "too much."  The emotions involved are the basic ones and they had plenty of time to shine in their own light.  I did think it was neat that you had "headquarters" where all the emotions were (in your head) and it was cool to see them looking out at the different "islands" of emotions... Each seeming to be an equal distance from one another, not giving one more importance over the other...  There were islands such as "goofball island" and even "friendship island"  each holding lots of great memories!  It was a cute way to let kids see that they are not the only one dealing with all sorts of emotions at their age and having the vocabulary being basic was a great way to allow them to understand it better (in my opinion.)  Not only do they reach the kids through the movie, showing the emotions of the adults was hilarious!!!!
I thought it was a good movie and yes, I will even say it is a bit emotional at times (especially if you are pregnant) , Broxton said it was a bit sad.  He did enjoy it, but as I said... he thought it was sad and had hoped it would be more silly throughout.
If you are looking for a great family movie to watch soon, plan to go see this. It is not only a great movie to watch, it is a great conversation starter for you to have once you get home!

Save Drink Spillage with #SipSnap #BringingHomeBaby #babyevent

We all know I am all about sharing cool products and companies with you, right?  I think it is so neat to see how things have changed over the years and let me just tell you now... The product I am about to share with you is just too cool to me!  Maybe I have been living under a rock or something, but I am amazed at how things advance!
So, the latest is a pretty cool product that not only helps prevent MESS, it also takes up very little room and that makes me so very happy!

Now, we only have Broxton (for just a bit longer) , but I know several of you have more than one child.  Some of you even have several under the age of 5, so listen up!  This is CALLING YOUR NAME!!!  Have you ever been out and about running errands and your little one is thirsty, but no sippy cup is to be found (or an easy to drink cup with a straw for those a little older.)  Not any more!!!
SipSnap to the rescue!!!

WHAT IS "SIPSNAP" you are asking... Well, hold on to your seats, as you are about to be blown away!

SipSnap is a product that is here to make life easier... for all of us!
You can purchase SipSnap in two different forms.
One - a sippy cup lid
Two - a straw lid
Check out the pictures below and let me try and explain just how awesome this is:

SipSnap is a silicone lid that you stretch to fit over the cup you need to use.  It fits like a glove, immediately turning your cup into a sippy cup or a cup top for you to stick a straw in.  The picture above shows the sippy cup top before I opened it.

You just unroll the cup to "open" it up and then you just stretch it over the cup to cover the opening.  This is the sippy cup lid opened and ready to be placed on the cup.

Here is the Straw Lid already unrolled and placed on a cup that Broxton currently uses.  He doesn't need the lid on it at home, but you better believe there is no way at all he is getting in the car with an opened top drink with no lid.  Not a chance.  Now, he can take his drinks to go and I will be fine with that.

The coolest thing to me is that they are so compact. They even come with a little travel container so you can throw one in your purse or diaper bag to always have one available when out and about.  They remind me of the size of a retainer case.  Look at that, for the room of 2 "retainer cases" I know have a sippy cup and a cup with a lid packed and ready to go.

I think this would be absolutely awesome for any vacations you have planned. This would also be great for grandparents that don't want to have sippy cups and lids taking up all the cabinet space, you can just throw a couple of these in the drawer and you are stocked and ready!

From SipSnap:
FeaturesStretches over all cup sizes
Made of high quality LFGB approved food grade silicone

Let me start this post by saying that in no way shape or form do I consider myself elegant or "girly -girl" at all.  I laughed and said when I graduated highschool that I would not be seen in a dress until I was getting married (since I was done with dresses from years in chorus.)  Guess what... that statement has been true.  I don't do skirts or dresses....It just isn't my thing.  I have also never been a fan of pink, but the weird thing is about a year and a half ago, I started noticing that I do like splashes of pink here and there...  Not much, but some.
Now that we are expecting Savannah to be here this summer, I am all about pinks and reds and purples and yellows... I love it all and oh my, she is going to be dressed super cute... Once she is old enough to make her own decisions, I will totally allow it, but while she is little... dresses and pink it is!

We have been very blessed with friends that have given us things for her... from blankets and clothing to her bedding... the other things I have been able to review... and let me tell you, the Burp Necessity burp shawl that I am going to share with you today, well, they make me feel elegant and lady like and I actually love it!
Have you ever heard of Burp Necessity before? It is NOT just a "burp cloth" it is a "burp shawl"  I am a big girl and this thing keeps me good and covered too!   It is made of beautiful fabric (I picked a pink one... I told you, I am really getting into this pink phase right now... and then a purple one, I figured I could get daddy to wear a purple one if he was thinking about LSU.)   The great thing is that they are reversible.  One side is a patterned print and the other is a solid color.
They are made to cover more of you, so no more spit up on your shirt as you are walking out the door or already somewhere.
To be honest with you, I can not believe that we have not seen celebrities with these.. Think of the amount of money they spend on clothes... They surely would want to try and keep them clean.  This would do just the job.  Oh, did I mention that not only can you use this as a burp shawl, you can also use it as a nursing cover!  Yes!!!  Talk about a great two-in-one!!!

I honestly can not wait to be able to use this when Savannah gets here!  I know that she and I will both love it and I can bet that people will be asking me where I got this!
Head on over to check out their site.  They have a great selection of patterns and they send them to you packaged great ready to give as a gift!   I might not be "elegant" or anything, but I sure felt it when I opened this up!

Are you familiar with Argan Oil?  I wasn't until not too long ago, but now that I know about it, I talk about it often and I am in love.  Argan Oil is an oil that I have no fear in putting on my skin (or on my sons skin.) With most lotions /oils the simple thought of putting it anywhere near my face causes my face to start sweating, my skin to break out and for my pores to feel like they are being filled with quicksand.  Broxtons face got super dry not too long ago. It was horrible looking and he was determined he was NOT going to let me put anything on it, until I pulled out the trusty tube of Kesh Argan Oil.  I was able to put it on his face and a few days later that skin was just as perfect as if there had never been a problem.  If you remember, Broxton has eczema, so we have to be careful what we put on his skin.  This was great and with a baby on the way, I am glad to know that we can put this in the diaper bag and not have any issues.  (It has been packed on a few trips and I can happily say that there has been no spillage, even with the help of a 6 year old helping carry the luggage!)
I love the way my skin feels when I put this on and between you and I, I have been known to rub a little on my hair to try and keep the frizzies contained!  While Broxton uses the PURE Argan Oil, I love to treat myself to the Rose Argan Oil from time to time!
I am adding the information sent to me below so you can see that you just might need a bottle or two to stock up on for your house as well!  (Can't be too careful in the summer with all the time spent outside = drying skin.)
Moms want to protect their babies and kids from harm—and that includes chemicals, synthetic ingredients and anything that can potentially irritate their delicate skin. Kesh Beauty Pure Argan Oil is a safe solution for wee ones’ dry, itchy, irritated skin because it contains only one ingredient: 100% certified organic argan oil.

For babies with eczema, cradle cap, diaper rash and run-of-the-mill dryness, Kesh Beauty Pure Moroccan Argan Oil hydrates dry skin and soothes irritation thanks to a naturally high concentration of vitamin E, antioxidants and essential fatty acids. These compounds provide anti-inflammatory and anti-bacterial benefits while providing long-lasting moisture and keeping skin comfy.

Kesh Beauty Argan Oil comes in handy for the older kids as well, offering relief from itchy insect bites, improving the appearance of scars that from boo-boos past, and even removing temporary tattoos!

Beyond the myriad uses, Kesh Beauty’s innovative bottle lets you take your argan oil to go—without the threat of it spilling in your purse or diaper bag. The leak-proof spray nozzle dispenses the perfect amount every time, and its air-tight seal keeps the oil fresher longer, eliminating the need for artificial preservatives.

Kesh Beauty uses only the highest quality, natural ingredients, and our argan oils are certified 100% organic by the U.S. National Organic Program. Our unique spray dispensers minimize waste by delivering the perfect dose, while preventing contamination so our preservative-free argan oils stay fresher, longer. If you are thinking of getting pregnant, or if this is your first preganancy, there is a DVD available that would be pretty good to watch. Yes, this is baby number 2 for me, but I still enjoyed it.  (Especially when they mention food NOT to eat, as that has been a big issue with some of my family. They think I am crazy about what is safe or not to eat and I am not budging. If the dr says no.. I am going with no.  Bottom Line. )
In this documentary, we follow different moms as they go through the 40 weeks of pregnancy. Some are married and others aren't. Some are young, others are older.  I actually enjoyed seeing the different stages for all of the moms.  I think one of my favorite parts of the DVD is when they start talking about the cravings.  I was lucky that I did not have any weird ones, but I loved the excitement of the mama looking for the best pickle!  (Or maybe my favorite was the "pregnancy brain"  as I think we have all been there!) I may or may not have cried when they went for their 20 week appointment and found out what they were having... I will never tell!  Anyways, the point is that this was a very good and informational DVD that I think would be a great resource for all...
You’re pregnant – Congratulations! Get ready for a 40 week emotional roller coaster ride packed with joy, worry, exhilaration, exhaustion and more. Your heart will burst with love for this little person you haven’t even met and your body will go through amazing changes on a daily basis. And yes, you will always be looking for the bathroom…
No matter where you are in your pregnancy, undoubtedly you have a million questions and concerns. What was that? Was that normal? What is normal? What’s happening to my body? And my baby?
Relax and take a breath! 40 Weeks is a movie that answers these questions while bringing you into the lives of a diverse group of real women dealing with the same issues you are. We invite you to get to know our families as we follow each of them throughout their pregnancy and see how they deal with the common place pieces of the process, as well as unexpected setbacks. Experience the weekly milestones of pregnancy with this wonderful community you are now part of.
40 Weeks is proud to partner with the Association of Women’s Health, Obstetric and Neonatal Nurses (AWHONN), HealthyWomen.org, and the March of Dimes to provide expertise through your pregnancy from announcement to birth.

Going to try the #ClothDiaper Way with @Buttons_Diapers #BringingHomeBaby #babyevent

There is no secret that I am thinking of trying the "cloth diaper" route this time around.  To be honest, it seemed to be really difficult and if you ask any of my family, they will tell you it is a pain and not to do it.  The truth is that they are thinking of the " old school " way with the plain white diapers with the big safety pins.  You know, the kind that was used when I was a baby.  Yes, I realize I am dating myself now, but I needed to explain what they were thinking.
Cloth diapering has changed so very much since those long ago days.  Now you can get diapers that snap or that Velcro.  You can get diapers that have inserts you place in there, or inserts you snap inside.  You can choose between solid colored diapers or prints on them. Did you know that you can buy diapers that go from like 8-35 pounds? ONE DIAPER that you can use basically throughout the whole diapering process!!!!

Once I started doing my research, I realized that there is SO MUCH to learn, but if you have a friend that cloth diapers, they are more than likely going to be thrilled to help explain things to you!  Besides that, there are so many websites to go and read on.  I even attended an event that had people there explaining the different styles /types /brands.  Talk about informative!  If you have any desire to cloth diaper (or if you are totally clueless about it) I highly recommend you doing a bit of research and you will probably change your mind!
As I mentioned, there are all sorts of styles / brands out there. Everyone I have talked to says that you need to try a couple different ones until you find the one that works for you.  I think the Buttons Cloth Diaper looks pretty easy and self explanatory.  (If you need more information, just click on the HOW TO USE BUTTONS link to read more about it.)
Don't quote me on the language, but this is the easiest way for me to explain it.  Believe me, I have done my fair share of trying to explain how easy this really seems.
Basically, I have the Buttons Diaper "cover"  then, you purchase the "inserts" to go inside it.  Once the baby goes potty, you just SNAP out the insert and then SNAP in a new one.  (You can use the same cover as long as they didn't mess it up.)  Pretty easy, in my opinion.  You have different sized inserts to use (and also night versus day)  you just snap and go.  When they are soiled, you put it in the wet bag (laundry bag) and then when you are ready, just wash them and go!  Buttons even give you a link to how you can best
care for your diapers for maximum usage of them.
If you are still unsure if cloth diapers are right for you, just click on over to read the benefits of cloth on their website.  As I said, I am going to try it out.  That doesn't mean I for sure will or won't, but I will not know if I like it unless I try it. The fact that it eliminates waste and saves money is a pretty awesome deal.  Also, from the large amount of people I have spoken with, Cloth Diapers are great at keeping a good percentage of their value in resale!   Nothing wrong with that!   Since I am wanting to give it a try, I do wish I had started with Broxton, they say you can stock up and use them from kid to kid!
Did you (or do you) cloth diaper?

You are headed to visit a friends house and you have your newborn with you, where do you lay the baby down?  You know they don't want to stay in the car seat / carrier the whole time, so what do you do??  I honestly don't know what I did with Broxton (besides hold him the whole time.)  Now, I have a perfect solution!   We were sent the EquiptBaby bassinet for review and I think it is pretty awesome!

If you look at the very top photo and then the one above, you see just how small it folds up.  It actually reminds me of the size of a car window shade I had years ago.  They fold up nice and flat to take up hardly no room.  Then, you just take the elastic band from around it (keeping it folded up nice and snug) and it pops up like a little pop up tent!
The EquiptBaby bassinet opens up to allow you to slide the baby mat into the bottom for extra cushioning.  Then, you can just place the baby in there and you are good to go.  No need to worry about packing a big bulky blanket or anything like that.  Do you notice the mesh surrounding it?  Yep!  That means you can even take the baby outside and place them in the bassinet, no longer having to worry about if they get bitten by any mosquitos or anything.  I know in South Georgia, we have lots of Gnats, now when we go to visit family, we can use this and no longer have to swat those bugs away the whole time!  It even says that the material on the bassinet has an SPF of 50, so you don't have to worry about those harmful rays!   (Please note that you can also roll the end up, to allow for you to have it propped open when you want.)
If you still aren't sold as to how easy it is to put together / fold to put up, please watch the video below:

If you are looking for a great baby gift (or one for yourself) make sure you check out the ease and durability of the EquiptBaby bassinet.  I know I can't wait to use ours!   You can follow EquiptBaby on Facebook and Twitter.

Tom & Jerry: The Gene Deitch Collection - Available Now!

There are some classics that just never get old. For our house, Tom and Jerry is one of them.  I grew up watching Tom and Jerry, I can remember watching it at Day Care while we all waited for our parents to pick us up. Through the years of watching, I never realized that Tom actually spoke in an episode.  I learned that this week, if you want to know how long that took me to figure out!  Wow.  Talk about being surprised!  (We were watching a marathon on TV and in one episode, he was singing and talking, Broxton and I were both totally shocked!)  Well, now we have a new DVD to add to our collection and I am so excited!  This could also make for a great Fathers Day gift for a little nostalgia for the Daddy in your life!

For decades, that tussling twosome Tom and Jerry have chased their way into the funny bones and hearts of moviegoers and television viewers in a variety of unforgettable cartoons. In the 1960s, acclaimed animation director Deitch, was selected to bring a new set of Tom and Jerry shorts to life. Adding his own distinctive style to the famous cartoon, Deitch worked with William L. Snyder’s Prague-based animation studio, Rembrandt Films to create 13 memorable shorts. This entertaining collection from WBHE, brings Deitch’s fun-filled cartoons together for the first time on DVD, completely re-mastered.

Tom and Jerry: The Gene Deitch Collection will include two bonus features; Tom and Jerry…and Gene: The Rembrant Years as well as Much Ado About Tom and Jerry.

“Over the years, there have been many artists who have put their own unique touch on Tom and Jerry cartoons. This collection recognizes the work of long-time animator Gene Deitch, who directed over a dozen shorts,” commented Mary Ellen Thomas, Vice President of Family and Animation Marketing. She added, “We’re delighted to bring these beautifully remastered shorts to collectors. If you are a fan of classic Tom and Jerry shorts or just love animation, this is a must-own DVD for your home entertainment library.”

Originally created by William Hanna and Joseph Barbera, Tom and Jerry centers on the never-ending rivalry between Tom the cat and Jerry the mouse. The plots of each short usually center on Tom’s attempts to capture Jerry. Jerry however, is clever and quick on his feet so Tom hardly ever manages to catch him. The original series is notable for having won the Academy Award® for Best Short Subject: Cartoon seven times.

How fast is time flying????  Pretty fast!  Did you realize it is almost Fathers Day? Yep, it is just right around the corner.  I love how fast time flies at times, but other times, I just wish it would slow down a little!   Have you decided what to get the Dads in your life?  If you are still up in the air, let me give you a suggestion... Or if you are a daddy, you might want to forward along this post as a hint to what would be a great idea for you.
A cooler!  Not just any cooler, but a K2 cooler, straight from Louisiana!  I don't know about the men in your life, but the ones in my life love coolers as much as they love cars... and that says A-L-O-T!!!!    My dad has I don't know how many coolers, to the point that my mom says we are no longer allowed to give him a cooler for any reason and she would prefer if he didn't buy anymore as well.   Now, it appears that my husband is following along the footsteps of finding "the perfect cooler."
I know there are lots of brands out there  and they go all over as for price range, but you have to have one that really works.  What is the point in saving money in a cheap cooler if you have to fork out a ton of money for ice??  Think about it!

Marc had a certain cooler that he used for work, he would have to ice things down as soon as he got to work and by the time he was off of work, all of the ice had melted and he had to dump the water and start over... Not any more!   Since getting the K2 cooler (talk about scoring big on Fathers Day gift)  he has been so happy with the results of it!

When the cooler arrived, it said to place ice in there so it could start to cool down before adding food / drinks to it.  We did that, then when he headed off to work, he added what he was taking and then added ice.  He hasn't had to dump water out of it over and over again, the ice stays frozen!

The things that I have noticed as being different (to me) with the K2 cooler are small, but awesome and make them stand out more.
One - the cooler doesn't have a hard handle like most, but instead has a soft strap.

Two- the cooler closes with big plastic stretchy clasps, it is said that it pulls down the lid for a tighter fit.
Three - you can customize it to fit what you are looking for with several different accessories (you can get a seat for it, a bottle opener, a dividing tray or even a tray to store food on top of the ice! )

As I said, this is so much more than " just a cooler."
This would be a great gift idea for those that like to go camping, fishing, hunting, travel, and even out to the pool.  Your things stay cold, ice stays frozen and you can enjoy your time, instead of making runs to get more ice all the time!   (Let's not forget football season is SLOWLY getting closer... talk about a great cooler to tailgate! )  They have different sizes sure to make everyone on your list happy!

Make sure to follow K2 coolers on Facebook.  (Their Instagram has a daily photo sure to make you smile!)  Let me know... are you into coolers as much as we are around here?

Just because school is out, that doesn't mean that learning and reading has to stop!  Did you know that many kids don't read over the summer and therefore they lose some of the knowledge that was gained over the previous school year?  Yep!  That is why so many schools have summer reading programs and even the library gets in on the excitement of the adventures that await kids beyond the cover of a  book!  A couple of years ago, Broxton took karate and had a great time, he especially enjoyed when he got to be a "ninja" so I thought that this book might be one to grab his attention!
This was a cute and simple book.  In it, you meet a ninja bunny that is reading a book on how to be a super awesome ninja... There are rules to follow and you see him working on following the rules...  as you turn the pages, you get a little laugh at all the ninja bunny goes through... until he meets the BIG BEAR!   Check out the book to see what happens then!
