Being an avid reader my whole life, I was one of the ones that enjoyed Chicken Soup for the Soul when it came out 20 years ago... I remember my days as a teenager, we would go and "hang out" at the mall for hours... Walking around... Meeting up with friends...  Goofing off... and of course, I would have to stop in the book store to see what all was available.  (Okay, I had to check out the music store too, but this is about the books!) I am sure I could find some of the original Chicken Soup Books if I look through my "library." I have a few friends that have kids with Autism. I have (in the past year or so) started reading a little more about it... Just for the fact to know... Instead of being uneducated.  I was happy to open the mailbox to Raising Kids On the Spectrum.  It is such an informative book as far as being a parent of all sorts of kids on the spectrum.  I have enjoyed reading it and plan to continue until I finish the book.  Like all Chicken Soup for the Soul books, I love that you can just read a story or two.. and of course the quotes... Please excuse me if any of this is a repeat... When I get to talking, I do sometimes repeat myself... I know I have mentioned the MOPS group that I am part of... Well, let me tell you more... I joined the MOPS group at our church. I feel as though I have made pretty good friends with the ladies. We really have a good time when we are together... Well, this past week, we had our "Spa Day" for all of the ladies. It started off sort of "iffy" ... The plan was to have different vendors come and donate their time ... As well as have a couple raffle prizes to give to the women. In the start, EVERY VENDOR we reached out to said NO.. But then in the last week, it all fell in place!! We had 2 different companies there giving massages to the ladies. Unique Day Spa  sent their employees to give massages and they also had employees giving manicures to the ladies as well! Signature Salon and Spa was also represented with massages being given also. I...

I absolutely love the Chicken Soup for the Soul Christmas Books. Well, I love them all, but these are really great for Christmas gifts!  The Chapters Include: All I Want for Christmas Love Actually Close Encounters of the Santa Kind Deck The Halls It's a Wonderful Life A Few Good Elves I'll Be Home for Christmas Toy Story There Will Be  Family A Christmas Carol Good Gift Hunting The Star of Bethlehem One of the great stories in there was the A Gift Not Wrapped. It gave a positive outlook on the girls grandfather being hospitalized during Christmas.  True, during the ordeal, it was a sad occasion, but looking back, they realized that this might have been best, as the granddaddy was able to spend time individually with each family member, with no chaos! I know that Thinking Positive will have great results... and I need to try and do it more often. I love the chicken soup books. Each one that I read touches my heart. To know that others can share their stories, it just makes my heart happy! When I saw that I would be receiving Chicken Soup for the Soul: Married Life, I knew that this was one that I was going to want to read soon. I never thought I would have the opportunity to be a stay at home mom... I have worked since I was 15, so I just did not see that as an option.. Then, we were able to let me do so and here I am... I love it so much.  It is a job, just one that is not paid with monetary amounts.. But, the kisses, memories and experience I get while having the best job in my opinion is one that I would not trade for anything in the world... Now, I am not judging. I mean, Food and Love?  I was thinking more along LOVING FOOD.. I don't need to read about that, as I know I do... Hey, my whole family does! Then, I slowed down and looked again.. Food AND Love... As the author states in the introduction:  "It's how we show our love for family and friends and create an environment of caring and stability during an uncertain time."  If you think about it that way, many memories do include food! Chicken Soup has always been there and through the years they have evolved so much from their original books.  From animal lovers to getting in shape, the Chicken Soup series is bound to have several books just for you! It seems as though Chicken Soup works so hard to have a book filled with inspiration for every age and gender. Not only that.. but also for everything that you might possibly love / enjoy! I love that they really make sure to cover everyone!!! That being said, they recently released a book geared just for teens! Chicken Soup for the Soul: Just for Teenagers!! Now come on, we all remember those days! Whether we are looking back at the good times, the things we wished we had or hadn't done... Those are the years that seem to make or break so people. As with all the Chicken Soup Books, I find myself laughing at the cartoons ALL the TIME! I especially laughed hard at these, as I can just imagine some of these being on my parents fridge!!!
