Wholly Guacamole - Tastes So Good

So, I have seen Wholly Guacamole on several blogs...
Man, I did not know what I was missing!

I was recently fortunate enough to be able to try several food items from their line...
YUMMMMMMMMM- YYYY

Let me first say that I thought they only specialized in guacamole...
WRONG.
Also, let me tell you about a little secret.
I just tried guacamole for the first time a couple months ago.
I just thought it looked nasty, so I was NOT about to try it.
My mistake!

This is some good stuff!

Wholly Guacamole sent me a nice variety to try...
First was their Salsa.
Delicious.
It was nice!
Full of flavor.
Not all runny, but not so chunky either!
Just right!
They also have a Garden Fresca Salsa that has been calling my name!
Will have to try that one really soon!
Then, it was time for their queso.
Marc and I love (Okay, Broxton REALLY loves it) queso dip.
We always get it at the local Mexican Place...
Now, we do not have to go out to eat to enjoy, we can pick some up at the store and have it here whenever we want it!
Last was their guacamole.
They sent us the classic and the spicy.
( I am saving the spicy for when the boys get here... I don't do spicy!)
But the classic was really good.
Just wish I would have thought about using it for sandwiches!
I read that you can use it in place of mayo on your sandwich and to me, that sounds like a great change!
I want to try the Pico De Gallo Style Guacamole on a sandwich!
(Doesn't that sound so good?!)

Now, I do not know if we will have Mexican night when the boys are here (Marc isn't really that big of a Mexican fan... )
But, I do know that we will have Queso/Salsa/Guacamole at some point!
It is too good not to let the boys have a taste!

Flipped - DVD Review

If you are looking for a family movie for you all to watch...
Let me tell you about the movie, Flipped.

This movie was directed by Rob Reiner, he also directed The Bucket List and Stand By Me...
Flipped is the story of tow kids who basically grow up together, but really do not even know one another.
Bryce and his family move to the neighborhood when he is just in second grade...
The day they move in, he meets Juli, the girl that lives across the street.
Julie KNOWS it is love, right then and there... but Bryce tries hard to make sure it isn't.
(Typical boy!)

Through the years, they grow up and the movie follows them through junior high.
Juli is a very smart and independent young lady who lets nothing change who she is, yet Bryce falls victim to peer pressure, even if it is at the expense of hurting Juli's feelings.

Marc liked the music that was played throughout the movie.
The movie was portrayed to have taken place in the 1960's.
(Yes, he likes the older music!)

The one thing that Marc did not like was how the movie was from 2 standpoints...
You would see the movie and then it would replay pieces with Juli narrating her view of it all... As well as parts with Bryce and his stand point.
Marc thought it would have been better not to have gone back and forth like that...

It really did not bother me like some movies do.
I guess I really did not even notice it until he brought it up.
I liked how it brought each of their opinions into the same situation...
Kind of explaining how every side has two stories.

This was a sweet movie that I think would be great for people of all ages.
You do not have to worry about it showing images or having language that younger kids do not need to see.

Now, I did not like how Bryce's dad was... but that was a bit to be expected, he was just very unhappy in his life.
Juli's family was FULL of love and compassion and I loved that!
Just goes to show how different people can be and how you might not really even know one another!

I liked it and to be honest, I would like to see another like this!

Aloha Friday - #64

Welcome to this week’s edition of Aloha Friday. In Hawaii, Aloha Friday is the day that we take it easy and look forward to the weekend. So I thought that on Fridays I would take it easy on posting, too.

My question:

Do you have a pet? If so, what is it?

My answer:

No, we do not have a pet... Yet.
I would like for us to get a dog ONCE WE GET A HOUSE.
NOT UNTIL WE GET A HOUSE.

Have a great weekend!

Stealing any Picnic Baskets? Yogi Bear DVD

As long as I can remember, my dad would always say " Yogi Bear and Boo Boo" for whatever reasons! He would always talk about them stealing the picnic baskets...
Then, we started watching the Yogi Bear TV show.

I was SO EXCITED when I saw that Yogi Bear was on one of the kids channels that Broxton watches, so I just HAD to turn it on. I told him all about me watching it with Papa... and I hope that they can watch it together at some point.

That leads me to this post...
I am super excited to be able to tell you that Warner Bros is releasing Yogi Bear's All-Star Comedy Christmas Capers on DVD.
This is one cartoon that I KNOW my dad will watch with Broxton!
I am excited to see it as well.
I remember Yogi Bear and Boo Boo going through Jellystone Park stealing all the yummy picnic baskets from all the visitors. The Park Ranger would always get so mad! :)
In this DVD, Yogi sneaks OUT of Jellystone Park and goes in disguise as a store Santa!
Doesn't this just sound so cute already?
It says that along the way, Yogi helps a little girl discover her faith in Christmas, so I really want to see what this DVD is all about.

As a side note, did you know that Yogi was introduced to us in 1958 on "The Huckleberry Hound" Show? Well, I wasn't around then... but I did not know that bit of trivia either. Yogi was so popular (imagine!) that he got his own show in 1960. There were 70 cartoons produced through 1962........ How crazy is that? I get to share Yogi Bear and Boo Boo with Broxton!

Now, don't you want to share it with your young ones?
This would also make a great gift for people that were kids back then too...
A piece of nostalgia!!!!

I will be receiving a copy of this DVD for sharing this information with you.

I LOVE Charlie Brown and Snoopy! - Review

I have been trying to figure out what movie tradition to start with Broxton for Christmas.
My mom and I were at Target and we had to stop and look at the holiday movies.
I mentioned to her my wish for a tradition of watching a movie every year...

Then, I saw the Charlie Brown collection.

Yes! This was what I thought I might get...
I mean, with this collection, I have all the holidays!!!

This Blu-Ray + DVD pack includes them all!
Blu-Ray also includes bonus episodes!!!!!

Here is the synopsis for each of the Blu-Ray +DVD:

It's The Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown.
This Emmy® Award-nominated special, finds the Peanuts gang outfitted in costumes, ready for trick or treating and crashing Violet’s Halloween party. Charlie Brown is in a ghost costume (with more eyeholes cut out than needed), Lucy dressed as a witch and Snoopy in a World War I flying ace costume. Linus decides to steadfastly hold vigil in the pumpkin patch as he awaits the Great Pumpkin.

A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving.
A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving – In this Emmy® Award-winning special, Peppermint Patty invites herself to Charlie Brown’s house for Thanksgiving dinner. Marcie and Franklin are soon added as dinner guests. Charlie Brown admits that his culinary skills are limited to “cold cereal and maybe toast.” Snoopy and Woodstock transform the ping-pong table in the backyard into a dinner table. As the guests arrive, they are each served two slices of buttered toast, some pretzel sticks, popcorn and jelly beans. Patty is outraged at the meal and berates Charlie Brown until embarrassed and dejected, he leaves the table and goes back into the house

A Charlie Brown Christmas.
In this Emmy® and Peabody Award winning classic, Charlie Brown is upset by how commercial the Christmas holiday has become. To coax him out of his holiday blues, Lucy suggests he direct the school’s Christmas pageant and decorate a glorious tree. Charlie Brown concedes. The tree he finds however, is puny, prompting everyone to ridicule him.

ALL IN ONE SET.

I really think that this will be one that every house needs to add to their collections!
(Hey, you could even get one for Grandma and Grandpa to keep at their place as well!)

Now, I have always watched The Great Pumpkin...
So that was already in the plans to watch with Broxton...

Marc swears that I have seen the Thanksgiving one...
Well, I had not seen it...
(That I remembered anyways... )
It was great!

Now, we will be watching the Christmas one soon!
(I feel that we need to get our tree up first!)
Soon, very soon!!!!
Once we get our tree up and watch the Charlie Brown Christmas...
We will also watch Charlie Brown's Christmas Tales.

This DVD is filled with 5 Christmas Moments that are sure to stay in your heart.
Snoopy as a bell ringer?
Lucy TRYING to be nice?
Linus working on writing his Santa letter?
Sally works on getting a Christmas tree...
and Charlie Brown and Sally wait up for Santa!

I am really ready to watch it soon...
There is a BONUS feature with:
Is This Goodbye, Charlie Brown?

I think all kids (young or old!) will love to see this under the tree this holiday season!
I know I am excited that we have it... and Charlie Brown has been so long even the "older kids" like mom and dad would love this to pass along their traditions!!!

We were able to review the Hey UGLY CD and let me just tell you...
It is full of laughter!

Besides the fact that laughter is contagious...

W W - Broxtons new haircut

So, we normally take Broxton to the kids hair cutting place, but we figured we would try a different place this time...
It was super cuts or great clips or something... Don't remember...
Anyways, she started cutting... and it was getting pretty scary looking...
At one point I thought I was going to lose it...
Then, it slowly started coming together...
WAY WAY WAY to short, but still...
So, Broxton will not need a haircut for quite a while now...
but hey, at least he got a sucker! :)
Happy Wednesday!

Sukey's Circle - DVD Review

We have been watching the Sukey's Circle Volume 2 DVD and Broxton is mesmerized every single time.
I was a bit skeptical at first, as it seems very simplistic.
BUT, it works!
It is as though Broxton can not take his eyes off of the video screen.

When "Where does the River Go" starts, Broxton helps to point out the fish and the water.
I love how the DVD is VERY interactive.
Who would have thought that singing and making a story with a felt board would be so captivating? Sukey did! The other song is Swinging Like A Monkey. We are into Monkeys right now, so Broxton loves watching the Monkey swinging around...
Sukey Molloy seems as though she is paying no attention to a camera and is just enjoying the singing/dancing and teaching! I think that is why I like this so much, it is great entertainment for young ones, with out all the hoopla that some shows feel they need to capture the attention of younger audiences.
Sunny and Tick Tock are Sukey's friends who are on the DVD with her and they are just two lovable characters!
Now, when Broxton watches them, he has to dance with them and I hope that WE learn the song soon! Just think, the simple, yet bright and colorful, video can bring so much joy to little ones everywhere!

Click HERE to buy the DVD to add to your collection.
You can also follow Sukey on facebook HERE.

Sending Christmas Cards? Let Avery Help - Review

So, it is no secret that I LOVE Christmas Cards.
    I love sending them...
    and I love receiving them!

I always put them up on display some how or another...
We used to hang them all around the door frame to show them off...
    Well, not with Broxton now!
That is why I have a cute tin box to put them in...
If you have not heard about that...
Read my review ( AND GIVEAWAY) on Gourmet Gift Baskets...

Well, I send plenty of cards out...
    and as we all know...
Addressing them gets a bit time consuming.
(Top it off, I write funny after a while...
Long story, maybe I should post about that one day)
    Anywho...

A couple years ago, I tried to make my own Christmas Card Labels...
It did NOT work out for me, so I gave up...
    Never to be done again.

    UNTIL Avery.
I was sent a disc and address labels.
    I uploaded the disc.
I picked out the label design I wanted.
I typed in ALL my addresses that I needed.
    I hit print.

    IT WORKED
    Now, this year...
My cards have the cute/fancy address labels that so many others already do...
    Yay!!!
You have no clue how easy it was either.

    Talk about a breeze.
    Do you make address labels?
Or do you write them out?
If you write them, I really recommend you try this!

    Oh, and my labels.
    They were clear...
So my red typing and Santa face really stand out!
    Now get this...
When you are ready to peel the label off.

Do you ever have a problem getting the sticker off the paper?
Sometimes mine stick and do not want to leave the paper.
These Avery Sheets I was sent are awesome.
There is a little line to guide you...
You fold the paper on the line.
Then the stickers POP off the paper at that line.
    Easy to grab!!!!

I give this an E for easy!
    or an A for Amazing!
    :)
