Wholly Guacamole - Tastes So Good

Image
So, I have seen Wholly Guacamole on several blogs... Man, I did not know what I was missing! I was recently fortunate enough to be able to try several food items from their line... YUMMMMMMMMM- YYYY Let me first say that I thought they only specialized in guacamole... WRONG. Also, let me tell you about a little secret. I just tried guacamole for the first time a couple months ago. I just thought it looked nasty, so I was NOT about to try it. My mistake! This is some good stuff! Wholly Guacamole sent me a nice variety to try... First was their Salsa. Delicious. It was nice! Full of flavor. Not all runny, but not so chunky either! Just right! They also have a Garden Fresca Salsa that has been calling my name! Will have to try that one really soon! Then, it was time for their queso. Marc and I love (Okay, Broxton REALLY loves it) queso dip. We always get it at the local Mexican Place... Now, we do not have to go out to eat to enjoy, we can pick some up at the store and have it here when

Flipped - DVD Review

Image
If you are looking for a family movie for you all to watch... Let me tell you about the movie, Flipped. This movie was directed by Rob Reiner , he also directed The Bucket List and Stand By Me... Flipped is the story of tow kids who basically grow up together, but really do not even know one another. Bryce and his family move to the neighborhood when he is just in second grade... The day they move in, he meets Juli, the girl that lives across the street. Julie KNOWS it is love, right then and there... but Bryce tries hard to make sure it isn't. (Typical boy!) Through the years, they grow up and the movie follows them through junior high. Juli is a very smart and independent young lady who lets nothing change who she is, yet Bryce falls victim to peer pressure, even if it is at the expense of hurting Juli's feelings. Marc liked the music that was played throughout the movie. The movie was portrayed to have taken place in the 1960's. (Yes, he likes the older music!) The one t

Aloha Friday - #64

Image
Welcome to this week’s edition of Aloha Friday. In Hawaii, Aloha Friday is the day that we take it easy and look forward to the weekend. So I thought that on Fridays I would take it easy on posting, too. My question: Do you have a pet? If so, what is it? My answer: No, we do not have a pet... Yet. I would like for us to get a dog ONCE WE GET A HOUSE. NOT UNTIL WE GET A HOUSE. Have a great weekend!

Stealing any Picnic Baskets? Yogi Bear DVD

Image
As long as I can remember, my dad would always say " Yogi Bear and Boo Boo" for whatever reasons! He would always talk about them stealing the picnic baskets... Then, we started watching the Yogi Bear TV show. I was SO EXCITED when I saw that Yogi Bear was on one of the kids channels that Broxton watches, so I just HAD to turn it on. I told him all about me watching it with Papa... and I hope that they can watch it together at some point. That leads me to this post... I am super excited to be able to tell you that Warner Bros is releasing Yogi Bear's All-Star Comedy Christmas Capers on DVD. This is one cartoon that I KNOW my dad will watch with Broxton ! I am excited to see it as well. I remember Yogi Bear and Boo Boo going through Jellystone Park stealing all the yummy picnic baskets from all the visitors. The Park Ranger would always get so mad! :) In this DVD, Yogi sneaks OUT of Jellystone Park and goes in disguise as a store Santa! Doesn't this just sound

I LOVE Charlie Brown and Snoopy! - Review

Image
I have been trying to figure out what movie tradition to start with Broxton for Christmas. My mom and I were at Target and we had to stop and look at the holiday movies. I mentioned to her my wish for a tradition of watching a movie every year... Then, I saw the Charlie Brown collection. Yes! This was what I thought I might get... I mean, with this collection, I have all the holidays!!! This Blu -Ray + DVD pack includes them all! Blu -Ray also includes bonus episodes!!!!! Here is the synopsis for each of the Blu -Ray +DVD: It's The Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown. This Emmy® Award-nominated special, finds the Peanuts gang outfitted in costumes, ready for trick or treating and crashing Violet’s Halloween party. Charlie Brown is in a ghost costume (with more eyeholes cut out than needed), Lucy dressed as a witch and Snoopy in a World War I flying ace costume. Linus decides to steadfastly hold vigil in the pumpkin patch as he awaits the Great Pumpkin. A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving. A C

U.G.L.Y. - Unique Gifted Loveable You - CD Review

Image
We were able to review the Hey UGLY CD and let me just tell you... It is full of laughter! Seriously, for 60 minutes... Straight laughter. I played it with Marc and Broxton and they were both a bit confused as to why you would want to just listen to laughter... I played it again just for me and it does lift your mood a little. Do you even know how great laughter is for you? Besides the fact that laughter is contagious... :) It has health benefits. If you read all the information on the health benefits of laughing on their page, you will see just what I am talking about... A few things they bring up: Great exercise - tightens abs Laughter increases blood pressure and heart rate. Once you stop, it returns to normal, but you are helping your immune system. Helps self confidence. See what I mean? You can read all about it HERE . This would also be a great background CD to just help with your over all mood. I personally think that this would be great to listen to on the way to school or

W W - Broxtons new haircut

Image
So, we normally take Broxton to the kids hair cutting place, but we figured we would try a different place this time... It was super cuts or great clips or something... Don't remember... Anyways, she started cutting... and it was getting pretty scary looking... At one point I thought I was going to lose it... Then, it slowly started coming together... WAY WAY WAY to short, but still... So, Broxton will not need a haircut for quite a while now... but hey, at least he got a sucker! :) Happy Wednesday!

Sukey's Circle - DVD Review

Image
We have been watching the Sukey's Circle Volume 2 DVD and Broxton is mesmerized every single time. I was a bit skeptical at first, as it seems very simplistic. BUT, it works! It is as though Broxton can not take his eyes off of the video screen. When "Where does the River Go" starts, Broxton helps to point out the fish and the water. I love how the DVD is VERY interactive. Who would have thought that singing and making a story with a felt board would be so captivating? Sukey did! The other song is Swinging Like A Monkey. We are into Monkeys right now, so Broxton loves watching the Monkey swinging around... Sukey Molloy seems as though she is paying no attention to a camera and is just enjoying the singing/dancing and teaching! I think that is why I like this so much, it is great entertainment for young ones, with out all the hoopla that some shows feel they need to capture the attention of younger audiences. Sunny and Tick Tock are Sukey's friends who are

EZ Sox - EZ Stocking Stuffer!!! - Review & Giveaway

Image
Have you heard of EZ SOX ? They are perhaps the cutest socks... and they serve more than one purpose! Does your little one have a hard time putting their socks on? Well, the EZ Sox are "training socks" for young ones learning to dress themselves. (Talk about a great idea!) So, what exactly ARE ez sox ? They are fun socks with different characters... Then, on the top rim of the sock, they have loops. The loops are there to help them learn to pull them up. We went with the Frog ones.. Aren't they just too cute? Besides the fact that they have the loops up top... They also have the stuff on the bottom that will help them not to slip and slide on the slick floors! How great is that? "Top" it off, the designs help them to know which way to put them on! You know, the animal goes up top so everyone can see them! Oh, did I mention... THEY ARE SEAMLESS for those with sensitivity issues! Looks like EZ Sox is the EZ solution!!!! I might be prejudiced... but I LOVE T

Sending Christmas Cards? Let Avery Help - Review

Image
So, it is no secret that I LOVE Christmas Cards. I love sending them... and I love receiving them! I always put them up on display some how or another... We used to hang them all around the door frame to show them off... Well, not with Broxton now! That is why I have a cute tin box to put them in... If you have not heard about that... Read my review ( AND GIVEAWAY) on Gourmet Gift Baskets... Well, I send plenty of cards out... and as we all know... Addressing them gets a bit time consuming. (Top it off, I write funny after a while... Long story, maybe I should post about that one day) Anywho... A couple years ago, I tried to make my own Christmas Card Labels... It did NOT work out for me, so I gave up... Never to be done again. UNTIL Avery. I was sent a disc and address labels. I uploaded the disc. I picked out the label design I wanted. I typed in ALL my addresses that I needed. I hit print. IT WORKED Now, this year... My cards have the cute/fancy address labels that so many others al
