50 Customized Thank You Cards - Giveaway

Image
********This contest has ended******** I am not sure about you, but I was brought up to always send thank you cards. It seems that the simple gesture of saying Thank you has somehow been forgotten through the years. I know when I got engaged, as soon as we received a gift, we tried to send a thank you card out ASAP. After the showers, I gave myself a week to send them out. Same for when Broxton was born. As soon as we received a gift, I was writing my note... Now, I am not perfect and sometimes I took a bit longer than I should have, but I still did it.. Well, DigitalRoom.com is letting one of my lucky readers win a customized set of 50 Thank-You cards! These cards are made with high quality paper and cardstock. Don't you want to win a set? I know that we ALL have a reason or another to send a Thank you note... The holidays are approaching, you could use them then! Prize: (50 ct.) 7 x 5" (folded to 3.5 x 5") Custom Thank You Cards with p

Aloha Friday # 9

Image
Aloha! As we know, FRIDAY = ALOHA FRIDAY! So, as Kailani over at Island Life says... In Hawaii, Aloha Friday is the day that we take it easy and look forward to the weekend. So I thought that on Fridays I would take it easy on posting, too. Therefore, I’ll ask a simple question for you to answer. Nothing that requires a lengthy response. If you’d like to participate, just post your own question on your blog and leave your link below. Don’t forget to visit the other participants! It’s a great way to make new bloggy friends! Being born and raised in the SOUTH... (South Georgia) I have always heard not to cut a baby boy's hair until his first birthday. I am not sure if it is a southern thing or what... BUT, B will not be getting his hair cut until then. My ALOHA FRIDAY Question is this: Did you cut your baby boy's hair before his first birthday? Have you ever even heard of this "tradition?" ALOHA!!!!!

Big Girls Don't Cry - Book Review

Image
I just finished reading, " Big Girls Don't Cry " by Cathie Linz. I hate to admit this, but up until a few weeks ago, I have never even heard of her. But, I saw a list of her current books and THEN, I saw it.. With a name like " Big Girls Don't Cry " I knew I had to read it! From the very first line of the book, I was hooked! "Broke and skinny beat out broke and chunky every time. " Hello?! I am feeling you already! The tile of the book alone made me want to read it and I am glad I did. I looked at Cathie's website and realize that she actually had her first book published in 1982. Cathie is a Romance writer... and let me just tell you, she can get pretty steamy in there! Remember the friends episode where Joey finds Rachels book? The one under the bed? Well, Rachel should read this! I have never been a "Romance" reader before... but after reading this book, I know I will be reading the other books by Cathie. C

Meet - Ward Wright

I'm using my blog to ask a HUGE favor for all of my readers... I have a story that I need to share. I went to college with two of the very sweetest people. Tom and Maranda. Well, after college, everyone headed in their own direction. Just in the past year, their name came up again. They ended up getting married and have built a very beautiful family. This past year, their little boy, Ward was diagnosed with Stage 4 Neuroblasto ma. I am asking you all for your prayers for them. They need prayers to face all that lies ahead. They need prayers that the doctors will know what to do. Ward needs your prayers in overcoming this! I received an email today for a prayer request: Wednesday, November 11, 2009 4:37 AM, EST We are desperately seeking your prayers. Ward has only slept an hour and a half tonight and is in agony because of his unexplained itching. He has received every type of anti-itch medication and cream available with absolutely no relief. He is suffering beyond belief right n

Classic Prayers for Children - Review

Image
If you are looking to get a timeless Christmas gift this year, let me offer a suggestion. I was honored enough to review the book, " Classic Prayers for Children " Let me give you a bit of background on this book first... I think it makes it even more special once you know the story. The text in this book was published in 1912, originally titled, " Little Folded Hands " Laurie Latour found a preserved copy of this book that was a gift to her aunt (her Aunt passed away in 1927 at the age of 3) that she re-published to bring this wonderful book to us today. Talk about a wonderful piece of history. You can read the full story here . When Laurie had this reprinted, she added a prayer journal to the back of the book. When your child is too young to write, you can write the sweet prayers of the child in the book for them, once they are older, they can write it themselves. Classic Prayers for Children is a beautiful, hardbound book that is fill
