Beecology - Review

You know that I love all types of lotions, shampoos, lip balms, body wash...
I enjoy seeing how they work with my skin or my hair...
How they smell...
I just love it because it is like I slip away to somewhere else for a while...

I have been using a new shampoo and conditioner lately, from Beecology and I am really enjoying it! I have tried the lotions and lip balms before, but I was really excited to try the shampoo and conditioner!
What would it smell like? How would it make my hair feel?

Well, as soon as I got it, I had to try it out!
It lathers nice and I feel as though it cleans my hair, without stripping it!

The conditioner is also ALL NATURAL.
I have to admit, I was not so sure about the conditioner in the beginning.
When I squeezed it out of the bottle, I felt as though I was just getting ready to put lotion on my hair. It was not thick and creamy like most conditioners are... but, I figured "what they hey, lets give it a try."
I think the scent is very subtle, like I can barely notice it...
But, I stuck my head all in Marc's face to make him smell it and he liked it...
One of the boys asked if he could just run his fingers in my hair all day because it was so soft! :)

Now, to tell you about the beecology product I am most excited about...
The All Natural Peppermint Body Wash!
Whoa Mama!!!
That is some good stuff right there!
The smell is a knock your socks off peppermint!
It really is an awaking for your senses!!!
I love it!!!
The lather is great and I am clean when I get out...
It seems as though you are just pouring oil out of the bottle, it is that silky!
But, then you lather up and you end with a nice and clean, moisturized feel!!!!

The final item I want to tell you about is their BUZZ BALM.
It is listed as a "Super Sting" Peppermint Lip Balm..
I smell the Peppermint, but there is another scent that I have still not been able to put my finger on... I like the tingly feeling that the peppermint gives my lips and they feel refreshed, not waxy!!!

If you have not heard of beecology, stop on by and see what all they have to offer!
Talk about great gifts...

By the way, when you buy from beecology, you get a charity code on your product (near the bar code) you then go to and select where you want your donation to go...
Talk about putting your money where YOU want it...
Beecology donates 10% of their profits to charities you choose...
Check out sweetyear to learn more!
Follow the Buzz of Beecology on facebook or twitter... WHY NOT BOTH!!! :)

Aloha Friday - # 54

It's Friday...
Time to relax...
and enjoy the weekend!!!!

From An Island Life, home of Aloha Friday :

Welcome to this week’s edition of Aloha Friday. In Hawaii, Aloha Friday is the day that we take it easy and look forward to the weekend. So I thought that on Fridays I would take it easy on posting, too.

Therefore, I’ll ask a simple question for you to answer. Nothing that requires a lengthy response. If you’d like to participate, just post your own question on your blog and leave your link below. Don’t forget to visit the other participants! It’s a great way to make new bloggy friends!

My question this week:
Do you consider yourself to be a sentimental person?
Do you love sentimental items?

My answer:
I think that I am very much a sentimental person. The reason this question comes up now is that my grandmother is moving... She is moving out of her house and into one of those assisted living apartments...
While she is packing everything up to either move, store or sell..
I really REALLY want something of hers...
So, I am getting something... LOL, not sure what...
But something.

I did tell her that I wanted to borrow her pictures (since they would not be on the wall right now) and go make copies.. You know, old ones of her and my grandad on their wedding day... things like that...

Oh, one more thing... (not a simple answer from me...)
She made an outfit for Broxton and a couple blankets... that was sentimental to me, and when I opened them up at his baby shower, I cried tears like you have never seen! :)

ALOHA everyone!

Oh yeah... Don't forget to enter my contests.... Several end this week...

Kidorable - Review & Giveaway

I have seen Kidorable all over the blogs and I think that they have THE CUTEST items!!!!
I mean, with a name like "Kidorable" how can your kid not be adorable in their products?!

I was so excited when I was allowed to review them!!!!!

I had such a hard time picking out what style of adorable rain-wear we wanted to go with!
I thought for sure that Marc would want him to get the Pirate outfit... but I wanted all of the boy ones! We had Broxton come over and look with us and then Marc decided that Broxton should have the FROG one....

( I love frogs too, not real ones... but I do think they are cute!)

Now, with Kidorable you can shop a few different ways.
You can go to the Kidorable site and order based upon the style you want.... Or you can look based upon the product.

Broxton has fat feet :) and he wears a size 6 shoe... We ended up ordering the size 7 and they fit him perfect... I think the size 6 might have been a bit snug on his legs.
The jacket we ordered was a size 2 and although it is a bit to big (he is only 19 months) it works and he likes it!

The rain boots fit his foot and I had to wait for a good rain so I could write a review. (I wanted to see how they held up with the water.) They did not allow any water to get on his feet and they kept them perfectly dry! Just what you want when buying rain boots, don't you think?!

As I said, the jacket was a bit to big... Meaning the sleeves were a little long, but nothing that rolling them up would not be able to fit. The material literally had the raindrops rolling off and it did not bother Broxton's skin. (That was one thing I was worried about was if the material would make him breakout or anything... nope! He was good to go!)

Now, Broxton has his rain gear in the front closet with our shoes and jackets!
Oh, I almost forgot to mention, the rain coat even comes with its own very adorable frog hanger! They do not leave anything out at Kidorable!

Guess what?
One of you lucky readers will get to win an umbrella of your choice!!!

Blogger Challenge - LAST DAY

Day 30 — A motto or philosophy

I think that to sum it up...

Temple Touch Premium Thermometer - Review

Broxton was not feeling well last week and felt like he was running a fever.
Luckily for us, we were recently sent a Temple Touch Premium Thermometer for review!
I grabbed it to see if he was warm or if he really had a fever.
(He did, 101.2)

Let me just tell you about this thermometer.
It is SUPER easy to use!
You just press the power button...
and about half a second later, it is ready to go.
Seriously, you turn it on, it beeps so you know it is ready... you press it to their skin... wait for the beeps (about 6 seconds) and it tells you their temperature.

The thermometer even keeps track of what the last temperature taken was....
Did I mention that you pick to either take the temperature under their arm or on the temple.
It even has a little icon to tell you if it is set for their underarm or temple.

I tried to put it on Broxton's temple, but he had been laying on me pretty much the whole time, so I knew my body heat would be picked up..
I decided to go with the underarm.
The thermometer took his temperature in just a few seconds!
It gives a small beeping sound...
Enough so that you know it is finished taking the temperature, but not loud enough to disturb them if you take it while they are sleeping...

The numbers are large enough that anyone can read it... and it is small enough to not be a big and bulky thermometer.
I also liked that it even records the room temperature as well! Think about it, you do not want it too hot or too cold, this will make sure it is just right!

These thermometers are sold in stores as well as online.
Just look to see where you can go pick one up!
With winter getting closer and closer, you should go ahead and be prepared!
This is great because it is not just for babies, or just for adults...
any and every single person can use it!

Superbaby - Book Review

Know someone who is pregnant?
Know a mom to one under 3?

Then, I have just the book for you!!!
I have been reviewing Superbaby by Dr. Jenn Berman and I really enjoy it!
I did not pick it up and start from the beginning, I have been jumping all over the place!

This book includes "12 ways to give your child a head start in the first 3 years."

Superbaby has a little of this and a little of that.
There are 12 Chapters that breakdown the steps/

Talk the Talk - Respectful Communication
You Got Me - Responding to Cues
Tick Tock - Creating Security and Predictability
Let Your Fingers Do the Walking - The Importance of Touch
More Than Chitchat - Promoting Language Development
Talk to the Hand - Sign Language
Babies without Borders - Foreign Language
Baby Got Book - Reading
A Different Kind of Toy Story - The Importance of Play
Thinking Outside the Box - Screen Time
It's Easy Being Green - Reducing Exposure to Toxic Chemicals
Food for Thought - Eating and Nutrition

Add to it:
Appendix A - Child Care
Appendix B - Preschool
Appendix C- Sample Baby Schedules
Appendix D - Reducing the Risk of SIDS

I think one of the main things I enjoy about this book is the layout.
Instead of being a cut and dry book... It has the feel along the lines of an Outline...
(A very detailed outline, but still... there are boxes and key points... so on and so forth)

There are boxes filled with information.
Top Ten Lists.
Even sections "from the expert."

In some area's you even have Pro/Con lists...

I have picked this up dozens of times and read bits and pieces.
I can not wait for Broxton to take longer naps so that I can get things done around the house... and then enjoy reading more of this!
I really want to start at page one and work my way through the whole book..
From start to finish!
Superbaby is like one of those books that you have read dozens of times that still calls your name!
It is calling me to read it all and I am so ready to do so!!!!

Of course, as much as I love reading (and want to pass that love to Broxton) my favorite section is the "Baby Got Book - Reading" one...
In this section, Dr. Jenn gives you the benefits to reading.
She also lists the top twelve books she recommends for children under 3.
(I hate to admit it, but I have never even heard of them... you better believe I will be looking for them at the library soon!)
The best part?
Dr. Jenn includes "Thirty Six Activities That Will Make Kids of All Ages Love Lit."

I like that these are actually things that are easy for me to do... Not that I am always looking to take an easy route, but some books that I see are just too much for me...
This book is easy to read, easy to follow through... and besides making a "superbaby," I think it helps me doing my job, be a better mom!

As I said, I am really enjoying this book!!!!
With that being said, I am off to read a few more pages now!!!!
This is a must have for all! (In my opinion!)

You can head on over to Amazon and buy this book today!!!!
Or, if you are out and about... Swing on by Barnes and Noble... they carry it as well!!!!

If you get half as much out of it as I did, you are in for a treat!!!!

Please stay up to date by following Dr. Jenn on twitter or facebook.

Blogger Challenge Day 29

Day 29 — Hopes, dreams and plans for the next 365 days

What does the next year have in store?
I would LOVE to say that we keep Marc home..
No deployment, PLEASE.
But, we never can tell.

All I know is that we will enjoy all the each day brings us and make the most out of it.
With this last deployment behind us, you learn to never take a single thing for granted.

I would like to say that in the next year we are pregnant...
or at least discussing having one more...
We will see...

W-W - remember when?

This was taken this year...
(In February)
Remember when it seemed as though the snow would never end?
And then WE GOT SNOW in SOUTH GEORGIA... and it even snowed in Florida?!

I wonder if we will get ANY snow this year...
I hope so, I know Broxton will LOVE IT!!!!!

Happy Wednesday everyone!

Chicken Soup for the Soul- Book of Miracles Review & Giveaway

With the holidays getting closer and closer, I start looking a little harder to find the perfect Christmas gifts for my family.
I am not sure if you are familiar with the line of books "Chicken Soup for the Soul," if not, you need to be! I have loved these books for as long as I can remember!
I have several of them and now I get to add more to my collection!
When I was younger, I had (still do somewhere) the Chicken Soup for the Soul teenage ones.. the college ones... you name it, I had it...
I think that I even have the first one! (Remember when it was just Chicken Soup for the Soul... and then they added, " A 3rd Serving... " )
Anyways, I am getting off track!

Now, they are at it again!
They have released Chicken Soup for the Soul A Book of Miracles 101 True Stories of Healing, Faith, Divine Intervention and Answered Prayers.

One thing that I love about the Chicken Soup Series is that they are full of individual stories, sent in by regular people like you and I. You can read one (or several) then put it down and do whatever you need to do...
Another thing about this one that I like is that each story has a scripture to go along with it...

Chicken Soup for the Soul - Book of Miracles is divided up into 9 different sections.

1- Signs from Above
2- The Healing Power of Prayer
3-Love from Beyond
4-His Messenger
5-His Saving Grace
6-Answered Prayer
7-Angels Among Us
8-Everyday Miracles
9-Divine Appointment

As with all of their books, they have even thrown in a couple of different cartoons for you!

I love this book...
So much that I am thinking of getting a copy to give to my grandmother... Maybe even both!

Are you getting your shopping lists together?
You might just want to add a copy of this to it!

But wait!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Try and win one first!!!!

Three lucky winners will win their own copy, to give or to keep!!!!

Mandatory Entry -
(Must be done if you want to win! Also, please leave your email address if not visible in your profile!)

Blogger Challenge Day 28

Day 28 — A scar you have, and its story or if no scars- a tattoo & story

I have a scar on my knee...
From when I was younger and went to sit in a chair at the house.
There was a nail sticking out...
and it dug straight on through my knee...
Yes, I got a tetanus shot.

Fruit2O - Review and Giveaway

I do not know about you, but I am always having to try and MAKE the boys drink water...
Soda and Sugary Drinks are not a problem for them, but when it comes to water, you would think that I was trying to make them solve all the problems of the world...
( I think they get that from their dad, because he HATES water!)

Well, the boys were here this weekend...
and we had a great item here for review!

I was sent several different flavors of the Fruit2O product line!
Now, I like water and I can drink it flavored or plain, so I was curious as to how it would taste...
But, most of all, I wanted to see how the boys would like it...
So- we tried, we talked and we liked!!!!

I did NOT care for the lemon, but one of the boys gulped it down and said it was great, tasted just like a soda and he enjoyed it...
Ready for more...
I am not really a cherry fan, so R inhaled it as well..
His comment? I really like this, but if you are not a fan of cherry, you need to pass drinking it... there is a strong cherry flavor!
Shhh... but, I drank the Tropical Fruit, Grape, Strawberry and Orange before they got here...
Hey, I was thirsty, it was cold and ready... and boy were they yummy!
R slurped up the Raspberry one before his brothers could try it... ( He is the oldest and biggest... so, he won!)
But, I gave the Peach (after I tried it... I love peach!) to C.
C must have really enjoyed it, because next thing I know.. It was empty!

Out of all of them, Peach was by far MY FAVORITE!
And, the boys liked them!!!!
Looks like we have a winner here!

Best part about it?
Zero Calories!
Zero Sugar!
and Zero to few carbohydrates!

Lucky for you, one of you gets to win your very own assortment of Fruit2O for you to enjoy!!!

Disney Road Rally DVD - Review

I have always loved Mickey Mouse...
That was yet another reason that I wanted Broxton to get to go to Disney when Marc got home.
We watch the Disney Channel from time to time and I really like when Broxton gets to watch Clubhouse Mickey.

Miska, Mooska, MICKEY MOUSE!!!!

Luckily for us, we were able to review the newest DVD to come out!
Mickey Mouse Clubhouse Road Rally.
Now, I am not one to sit Broxton in front of a TV for hours at a time, but with this movie...
He gets to see Mickey and the gang...
They even have songs and stuff like that, so of course Broxton LOVES it..
As soon as music comes on, he IMMEDIATELY has to dance!
(Not to mention the song is cute...
M-I-C-K-E-Y... Mouse...
Broxton loves dancing to it!

We have watched the movie a couple times at home, but right now...
We have my dads car, (with a DVD player in it) So, Mickey and the crew come along to make the trips a bit more enjoyable!

This movie is super cute (it even has Chip and Dale in it!)
Mickey and friends decide to have a Road Rally and race all over...
Many obstacles and different terrains have them facing many different challenges!
But, with the help of each other, they find all the Mickey Markers and have a great time while doing so!!!!
Tootles even joins in on the fun!!!!

Besides being a cute movie, they have also included a few bonus features for you to enjoy...
One is a never seen bonus episode and the other is an interactive play feature...
We have not taken advantage of either yet, but I know kids will love it!
Hello, it is Mickey!!!!

Looking for a cute gift?
Look for Mickey Mouse Clubhouse Road Rally! (It just came out on DVD!)

Blogger Challenge Day 26

Day 26 — A childhood memory

I have 2, both super short...

One :
I was at my Nana's house...
We went out for a walk and I found a birds egg on the ground...
I put it in my pocket, to keep it warm and safe..
I wanted to try and get it to hatch.
Well, we got back to my Nana's and I sat on it...
I was sad...
But, I learned not to go putting eggs in my pocket!

Also at Nana's.
We were there... Me, Estee and Ed Ross...
The ice cream truck came.
We ran out for ice cream.
Forgot there were "stickers" in the grass.
(We were barefoot)
We started screaming for Nana to bring out our shoes.
Nana came out...
(Ice cream man is waiting on us.)
Estee JUMPED on her...
Nana fell down.
Ice cream man freaked out...
We all laughed...
Got our ice cream and went to the porch!!!!

Oh, how I miss my Nana.
