Atlanta is about to get “hotter” with the opening of a Tervis company store in the heart of Atlantic Station downtown. Since 1946 Tervis has been crafting drinkware products in America with a Made for Life™ guarantee. During the October 1st Grand Opening, customers will receive 15% off all day and the first 100 customers will receive a free tumbler beginning at 10am.

“We love the eclectic mix of entertainment venues, shops and residences around Atlantic Station,” said Chad Blankenship, Tervis Head of Stores. “With all that Tervis has to offer, we fit right in! We can’t wait to become an active part of this vibrant community.”

The 1662 sq. ft. space will be filled with a wide assortment of designs from favorite brands like Coca-Cola®, Disney, Simply Southern® and Realtree®, just to name a few. There will also be plenty of sports and colleges to cheer for including the Atlanta Braves™, Atlanta Falcons, Atlanta Hawks, University of Georgia, Georgia-Tech, Georgia Southern and more.

From sippy cups, tumblers, water bottles, shot glasses and wine glasses there is something for everyone. Tervis’ insulated products keep cold drinks cold and hot drinks hot,  reduce condensation, are dishwasher safe, BPA free and unbreakable. This is the 47th Tervis company store.

So, will you be going to check out what all the store has to offer?  I think I want to go and get Savannah a sippy cup from there. Maybe for Christmas?  I would be willing to bet you can grab a gift certificate and then let them pick out the perfect gift they want!  These would be great for tailgating, wedding gifts, hostess gifts and holiday functions. <--- an="" awesome="" branded="" case="" comment="" excuse="" font="" in="" just="" nbsp="" need="" pick="" product="" tervis="" that="" to="" up="" was="" you="">

Fright Fest at @SFoverGeorgia - Open NOW!

For those of you in or near Atlanta... I thought you might want a heads up on Fright Fest at Six Flags this year! I received this email and wanted to share. Let me know if you have been or plan to go!

More than 20 spine-chilling haunted attractions await those who dare to enter the gates at Six Flags Over Georgia for the largest Fright Fest® event in park history, beginning September 24. The annual eerie experience ramps way up this season with the debut of one of the world’s first fully interactive virtual reality roller coasters, Rage of the Gargoyles at Dare Devil Dive, during the Fright Fest season. In all, Fright Fest will feature more than 400 zombies and monsters, 12 hair-raising scare zones, six bloodcurdling mazes and four terrifying live shows.

“We are committed to making Fright Fest the premier Halloween attraction in Georgia with our world-class roller coasters and topnotch frightening attractions,” said Six Flags Atlanta Properties Park President Dale Kaetzel. “Combined with the all-new Rage of the Gargoyles Virtual Reality Roller Coaster, we guarantee that our guests will be screaming louder than ever before this fall.”

In Rage of the Gargoyles, riders wearing Samsung Gear VR headsets will become pilots of an Apache-style helicopter, transported into a futuristic battle against blood-thirsty gargoyles on Dare Devil Dive and experience:

·         The incredibly immersive world of virtual reality – straight up nearly 100 feet as the gargoyles pound on the copter’s windshield;
·         Flying down a 95 degree launch off the edge of a building - beyond vertical;
·         Darting between a devastated cityscape with battered skyscrapers, hazardous bridges, and falling debris;
·         Daring aerobatic maneuvers through three inversions and zero-gravity hills; and
·         A fully interactive gaming battle through 2,100 feet of track to destroy the vicious master gargoyle.

The petrifying Fright Fest event will also feature four new unnerving additions:

·         Mummy’s Curse, a new pitch-black haunted maze, where the old curse of the Six Flags Over Georgia mummies are lurking, looking for their next victim;
·         The Witching Hour, a new scare zone, where all of the dead zombies and monsters will haunt you before the night ends at the park exit;
·         CarnEvil, a live show, with the scariest of all creepy clowns you’ve ever come to see, that will become part of your worst nightmare; and
·         Demon District, a new haunted scare zone, where a chilling mob of infected zombies and monsters are ominously taking over the streets of the park, holding no bias.

The event’s signature attractions are also back this year including Terror Train, ZX-1 and the award-winning Dr. Fright’s Dead Man’s Party at the Crystal Pistol Music Hall, along with all of the guest-favorite rides including Goliath, BATMAN™: The Ride, SUPERMAN™: Ultimate Flight and more. Fright Fest begins each night with The Uprising, where bloodthirsty monsters are released into the dark of night.

During the day, the park is filled with tamer Thrills by Day Halloween activities for families to enjoy together, including a harvest festival, arts and crafts, pumpkin painting, spooky stories and more. Children 12 and under are encouraged to wear a family-friendly costume to the park and take part in a costume contest with their favorite Looney Tunes friends.

Fright Fest at Six Flags Over Georgia runs September 24 through Halloween night October 31 on select days. A Haunted Attractions Pass is required for all mazes. For more information, please visit Fright Fest 2016.
Riders must be at least 13 years of age to wear Samsung Gear VR.

Trudeau has a great lineup of items to make taking lunch a breeze! (Plus a recipe!)

School is in full swing here.  Lunches are packed.  Homework is completed.  Here is the thing... Broxton is not a huge fan of "sandwiches" for lunch...  He says they don't taste the same as they do at home.  We try different food idea's but it gets old (at least to me) after a while of the same things. He has decided he likes Peanut Butter sandwiches, but with classmate having severe allergies to nuts, I am not about to put anyone in danger!  We save those for home!  Broxton does love salads for lunch from time to time, but I have realized most of Broxton's lunch time is spent socializing since they can't talk and what not during the day.  (He is a social butterfly, no denying that! Gets it from me, I know!!!)
We were lucky to get a new lunch lineup of items to review.  I was excited because that meant that Marc could take his lunch in nicer looking containers.  Then, Broxton saw it all and I knew it was over.  He has already planned salad using the condiment containers.  He already has his request in for soup in the colder months for his other container.  He was actually really excited about it all and since that means I can change things up again, I was getting pretty excited too!  Read on to see the great items from the Trudeau FUEL line!

I am impressed with the quality and style from the FUEL line at Trudeau.  I love the lunch bag (and that will stay an item for Marc to take his lunch to work in) and it seems to be pretty roomy in there.  The lunch cutlery is awesome and will rotate from Marc and Broxton both. With Marc's work schedule, he takes a wide variety of food and that would be perfect for him to always have on hand.  The food jar might be my favorite of all.  I can pack Broxton soup and not worry about spillage.  It seems sturdy enough to be able to take an accidental drop or two (you know, when he comes in and forgets to hang his bag up, instead dropping it on the floor for me to remind that is not where it belongs!)  As I mentioned, he loves salad from time to time, so I like packing the toppings in little containers for him to add to it himself, this would be great for the cheese and croutons, as well as the dressing! Finally, the drinks. He gets to take a drink to lunch and this would be a great way to change it up and let him take something from home as a juice drink instead of the pouches all the time.  He is also allowed a water bottle during the day in class, so this is a perfect size for him!
Make sure to check out the Trudeau site to see what all products they carry.

I saw a recipe for Taco Soup on a few friends facebook pages... I don't know who to credit the recipe with, but I did want to share with you:

Taco Soup:

2 pounds ground beef
1 medium onion

Drain and rinse 1 can of each:Pinto Beans
Black Beans
Kidney Beans
Fiesta Corn

2 cans diced tomatoes
1 can rotel
1 can beef broth
1 package dry ranch mix
1 package of taco seasoning mix

2 pounds ground beef
1 medium onion

Add all together, bring to a boil, then serve.

I think I will be trying this for one of Broxton's lunches.  (Besides the potato soup he has already requested.)  I can add cheese, tortilla strips, sour cream in the condiment containers if he wants toppings.

What is something you pack for lunch for your family?
