As you know...  Water is not a favorite around here...  Marc seems to think it is like poison... so of course, Broxton does not request it...  We do have it though...  Bottles, pitchers... you name it.. The great thing with Broxton's teachers last year was that she said it was okay to send in water for the kids to drink throughout the day...  His water bottle came home pretty full on some of the days, so I wanted to try and find another way to keep him hydrated..  Then, it hit me...  Broxton likes Hint water..  So why not send that in?   It is more than just "water" so that Broxton will drink it...  It is water that tastes good... and would be great to keep him hydrated and it is bette

Back To School Resolutions

Do you make resolutions?  I have never been one to do so, but this was a quick top 10 that I need to remember... So, I thought I would share... This is not a sponsored post, its just me trying to share when I can...   Do you have any back to school resolutions to add to this? Education expert Renee Thompson, Kiddie Academy , offers the following thought starters for resolutions parents may wish to make, along with the reason why each is important. Parents' Back to School Resolutions: 1.      I will give you a break after school if you need it before asking you to start homework. Why: some children can jump right into homework and others are more focused after having some time to unwind.  See what works best for your child. 2.      I will stay in touch with your teachers throughout the year. Why: Communication is the key to early detection of potential problems.  If your child is struggling, an open line of communication with the teacher will help in resolving the issue. 3.

I will admit something to you..  I have never really been a fan of mustard.  I am not sure why...but I could care less about yellow mustard.   Now, I am not like some people that hate it, just not something I will request...  Marc on the other hand?   Love it... ALWAYS on hot dogs... always on brats... most of the time on sandwiches...  You want to know what I do love? The spicy mustard, brown mustard... the mustard with some "flavor!"   I LOVE it... I mostly by the mustard with horseradish in it... for me... and yellow for Marc. When I found out that we would be getting to try all the French's line...  I was excited...   As I don't stray far from my favorites, unless give

As soon as Broxton FIRST saw the previews for Planes, I knew it was a movie we would be going to see...  He has been a HUGE fan of cars since the first time he saw it, so I knew that this was right up his alley!!! The only problem? The weeks leading up to the release, the Planes advertisement was on TV like every other commercial... Try explaining to a 4 year old that although the commercial is on OVER AND OVER AND OVER again, it is not available for us to go to the theater to see... If its on the TV, why not????  Lucky for us, we were able to go to a sneak preview of Planes the other night... Talk about being a pretty cool mama!!!  Yep!  I won a few brownie points that night!!! We got there, grabbed

A cool new addition to our house?   The family room!   We have it set up so that the TV viewing area is in one area... but Broxton's play area is off to the side as well... Many hours are spent over there playing so I wanted it to be cute... It was so neat to see the Wall Pops Kids Dry Erase Map  and I knew I wanted to have this hanging up...   I was sent one for review and for the time being, it is now hanging up in his area.   The great thing about Wall Pops is that they are peel and stick!!! I placed it low on the wall, so that it is easy for him to see and reach...  But, when he has another growth spurt, we can quickly and easily move it up without leaving a mark. Broxton does not kn

I know... what is wrong with me?!   But seriously, I never heard of it... but now, I love it just as much as Broxton. There are several of his shows that drive me crazy... but this one, I can watch over and over again...  Broxton and I both learn while watching, so that is great!!! We were recently sent the latest DVD releases from The Magic Schoolbus... and of course, we loved them...  I need to get the books now!!!! In a Pickle -   In a Pickle  - Topic - Microbes Keesha and the class return from vacation to find her prize cucumber has turned into a pickle.  coule the Mike Robe gang

Broxton has decided to fall into the love of Legos.   I am not sure what happened, but all of a sudden, he was asking me when he was going to get Legos...  Of course, I thought about it and realized that he might be good to work with Legos now to continue working with his hand / eye coordination.  So, you know that means we bought some!!!  Those jokers can add up to be pricey... wow, but it does give him toys that are very open to his creative imagination!!!! The only problem?   They are super tiny...  Like in some cases I can not take them apart they are so small... nor can Marc, so I don't feel that bad...  But let's cut to the point...    Have you ever stepped on a Lego?  NOT-FU

Opinions expressed are my own and are NOT influenced by monetary compensation.   Green Tips for Back to School 1. Before heading to the store in search of supplies, take inventory of what items are left over from last year that can still be used this time around. Shopping for school can be exciting with all of the bright, fun items! Try to make sure you aren’t forgetting what you came for and don’t buy any unnecessary products that will go to waste.  2. When you have reduced your list of school supplies to the necessities, ensure that you think about what you buy. Look for pens and pencils that can be refilled or supplies that are made from recycled product. Read the labels and make smart decisions to help preserve the magic of Moonhaven! 3. There are so many ways to decrease the polluta
