Last week was a busy week around here for us.
One major event that Broxton was able to go to???
Well, just a little thing at Delta Air Lines where they honored SNOOPY and made him an honorary pilot!!!    Broxton was so excited to be there.  Not only did he get to take a tour of the Delta Flight Museum beforehand, he got to meet Snoopy.  Top it all off??  He got to see some of the actors that are the voices and even met Craig Schulz (writer/producer) and Steve Martino (director) for the new Peanuts Movie coming out November 6th.
If you follow me on Instagram, you saw some photos of the event, but here are a few more for you to check out!
What we saw when we arrived at the Delta Flight Museum.

Just one of the many photo opportunities we took while walking through the museum.

When the Peanuts Event Started, they had a the Pope High School Marching Band and Flag Team there for the festivities. The flag line danced and the band played the Peanuts Music!

Seriously, they had the Red Carpet Rolled out!
This is  Noah Schnapp, THE PEANUTS MOVIE voice of Charlie Brown.

Loved his enthusiasm the enter time!
This is Steve Martino, THE PEANUTS MOVIE director.

We all know who this is!!!!
Snoopy, Peanuts character and THE PEANUTS MOVIE star.

They even had students there from the Ron Clark Academy!

 Now, what exactly happened???
Snoopy was honored with an ‘Honorary Delta Pilot’ proclamation.

Steve Martino and Craig Schulz were given the honor of being bestowed First Officer Pins and the voice actors each were awarded Flight Attendant Wings!

Come back next Wednesday, I will be sharing more pictures of Broxton from that day!
Do you plan to go see The Peanuts Movie when it is released?

I love having books around for us to read and flip through.  It is a great thing when you hear your little one say, "Mama, will you read me a book?"  Of course, I say yes... Unless it is the millionth book of the night and he is doing it to try and stay up late, then I can say "not until tomorrow."
We were recently sent The 50 States for review.  Now, this book is not one that you are going to snuggle up and read as a bed time story, but it is a great one that you will look at to learn more about different states!   I actually learned quite a few things myself as I flipped the pages!  The 50 States isn't your typical map book. Yes, you have each state on a two page spread, but they don't have the typical map features of rivers and what not.  This one is filled with facts about the state.  From inspiring people, state icons, region spotlight and more, you are sure to learn a thing or two!  They even have a box filled with moments to remember as well as another filled with key facts!
Make sure to check out the information on Georgia listed below!

2 page spread of Georgia

WELCOME TO THE PEACH STATE - GA
WELCOME TO THE PEACH STATE Even if you’ve never been south of the Mason-Dixon Line, you’ve probably heard a song about Georgia. Musicians raised here, including Gladys Knight, CeeLo Green, and, of course, Ray Charles, have sung about this “Empire State of the South,” celebrating the beauty and ingenuity of Georgia’s lands and people. “The road leads back to you,” sings Ray Charles in the song “Georgia on My Mind,” and if you follow that road, you’ll find the nation’s fourth state rich in hospitality, charm, history, and cultural delights. Nature lovers are drawn to the stunning scenery of the Blue Ridge Mountains, which mark the southern end of the Appalachian Trail. The nightlife and bustling industry of Atlanta beckon the city- loving traveler, while history fans stroll through Savannah with pleasure. Regardless of your reason for visiting, there’s no doubt you’ll find much to enjoy in the “Peach State”—including peaches!

Last week, I was invited to go and check out a Cook-off between two firehouses...  They were making dishes using Johnsonville Sausage.  Of course I said yes!  It was a beautiful day and it sounded like fun.  I have heard of Chili Cook-offs before, but this was one where they would be making stew or soup.  I am all about learning a new recipe, so Savannah and I headed that way to see what was going on!
When we arrived, we were greeted with Firehouse 19 having their truck out on display as a backdrop.  Talk about eye catching for people riding or walking by!  The great thing was that this competition resulted in plenty of good food... and it was open for anyone and everyone to come by and try a bow.  (They also all were able to be judges for the event!)

If you notice over to the right...  They even had a radio station there for the event.  You could hear them broadcasting through the neighborhood and people were approaching to see what was going on!
The voting area!   You had two clear bowls.  One with a red spoon and one with a blue spoon.  After trying both of the entries, you simply dropped your spoon in the dish of your choosing and that was how you cast your vote!  The two that day?  One was a soup with the sausage and kale (among other ingredients)   The other was a stew with the sausage and the pumpkin.
The winner won this trophy... and if you look, the recipes of the two entries were printed for us to take home!  Johnsonville also donated $5,000 to the Atlanta Fire Department to show their support and appreciation for all of their support in the community.

The two teams working on their entry!   It was quite fun watching them cook and giving out samples to those in the neighborhood that stopped by to try it out.  They had little fire hats to give out to people (so I grabbed one for Broxton.)  The weather was perfect and the food was delicious!  I really enjoyed the red one (soup with kale) and how about they were the ones that one?  YAY!

That one time I was thisclose to an Atlanta Falcon player (celebrity judge) and did not know until after the fact!   Yep -  Desmond Trufant, cornerback of the Atlanta Falcons.
It was really neat to be there for the cook-off.  Now, I will be visiting the Johnsonsville Recipe link to figure out what recipe I want to make for us to try one night soon!  (I love ALL of the recipes to decide between.  You can choose from breakfast, lunch or dinner. You can also pick from grilling or cooking and even have the option to see what holiday option you want to go for!)  Head on over to the Johnsonville site and let me know a recipe that sounds good to you!  Here's one that sounds pretty tasty to me! (Taken from their site.)
Bowtie Pasta
5 servings

INGREDIENTS
1 pkg. (19 oz.) Johnsonville® Italian Mild Sausage Links
1 pkg. (1 lb.) bowtie pasta
3 Tbsp. olive oil
1 medium zucchini, thinly sliced
15 cherry tomatoes, halved
1 medium onion, sliced into thin wedges
3 garlic cloves, minced
salt and pepper to taste

Directions

Meanwhile, cook pasta according to package directions.

One of the best feelings in the world, to me, is being a mom.  I love my "babies" more than anything and I wish them all that life has to offer.  If you have visited my blog before, you more than likely know how much I love books and love adding books to our personal library. We were recently given the opportunity to review a book from I SEE ME BOOKS.  It is called, I Wish You More, and it is such a perfect book!
I love that the book, I wish you more, has all the feelings I have for my children.  I wish you more ups than downs and so much more!    It is a hard back book with great illustrations on each page!
When you set out to order your book, you have the option to upload an image of your choice.  You also are able to add a personal dedication page with whatever you want to leave in your book.  (As long as I can remember, my mom has always written a note in the inside of any book she has given me. This is a great way to make the gift even more personalized. )
Each page of  I Wish You More has the name of the child.  Yes, your child is the star of this book!  I enjoyed that they incorporated the name in the text on some pages and in the illustrations on other pages.  This book is great and I know Savannah is going to love it the older she gets and is able to recognize HER name in the book!!!

Do You Do Buffet's? #Giveaway

When you have a house full of boys, it is great to load up and take them to a buffet from time to time.  They get to eat any and all that they want, I don't have to cook, nor do I have to clean!  Recently we were invited to go check out the local Ryan's Buffet and now one lucky reader will have the chance to win 2 meal passes to go and check it out as well.  The good thing is that there are places all over, so this is not just a local Atlanta giveaway!   Ryans is part of the Ovation Brands (Ryan’s, Hometown Buffet and Old Country Buffet) so I hope there is one near you.
If you are military, they offer discounts on Mondays.  Make sure to ask what the discount is for your local establishment.

The great thing about Ryans?  You can make the salad you want!  They have a mix of greens to choose from and then a wide variety of toppings.  Broxton knew what he wanted on his salad, so it was great to be able to go over and make one right there for him!
If you are one that likes the mixed salads, they have an area for that as well. This location had items such as seafood salad, cucumber salad, broccoli salad and more.
As I said, buffets are great options since there is such a wide variety of food to choose from.  You can go for home cooked favorite like fried chicken, broccoli with cheese on top and more. They even had a taco section!
Not just for southern style like fried chicken, they also had pizza, spaghetti and more!
Once you have filled up on all the food you want, if you have room, they have a dessert station too!  From cheesecake to carrot cake, cookies or soft serve ice cream.  You can surely find something to help with your sweet tooth!

Now that you are hungry, head on over to enter to win 2 meal passes on the rafflecopter form below!

If you are on social media, watch television or have been out in public any time recently, you probably know that there is this group of kids, one named Charlie Brown, and they have a new movie coming out the early part of November.  Yep!  The Peanuts Movie is being released, so it is perfect time to have two reading adventures to go along with it!

Join this bright bunch and jump into the fun. Discover lessons that last a lifetime with your first Peanuts 1-2-3 book!

I love Put Me In The Story for several reasons.
One reason is that you can actually see every single page on their website, so there is no surprise when the book arrives.  The other reason?  They are personalized!
With names like "Broxton" or "Savannah" it is not like we can go grab a book with their name already in it... Now we can order it and talk about seeing excitement!
I ordered both of these books for Savannah.  How exciting will it be that she will have her first Peanuts books to help her with her alphabet and with her numbers!   They will be to Savannah and I have them from Broxton!   (I was able to take her and Broxton to see Snoopy not too long ago, so this just adds to their memory of that day!)

If you are a fan of Peanuts, or if your children are...
You might want to head on over to the Put Me In the Story site to see the books they have!

Having a Baby? Or know someone who is? #BringTheCaringHome, #IC #ad

Cardinal Health sent me this product to try, and donated to a charity of my choice.”

When I had Broxton, I was a bit surprised at what I needed once I came home from the hospital.  I admit that I did not give much thought to what I might need, I was just worried about being a good mom and him being okay.  Lucky for me, my mom came to stay with me and was a big help running to get things I needed that I had no clue about.
Fast forward to this time around.
I made it a point to have nursing bra's, nursing covers, all the odds and ends for breast feeding.  I made it a point to tell a first time mom friend of mine that she needed to make sure she had plenty of pads for when she came home, that was one thing I totally did not think about first time around.   It doesn't matter if you are having a vaginal birth or a c-section, it is going to hurt down there and you need to make sure you are cared for at home, just as you were at the hospital.  That is where Cardinal Health comes in!
Do you really want to be riding all over town trying to get medical supplies (or sending a loved one to get them for you) or would you rather be at home resting or spending time with your newest addition?  Exactly!   You can just go to the Cardinal Health website and hit "store locator" or just click and order from Amazon!
Let me tell you about Cardinal Health, as it was new to me before I had the chance to post this for you all.  Cardinal Health has "hospital quality" products... without having to get them from the hospital!   I was able to review the Perineal Cold Pack and wow, this would have been great my first few days home!   It is a cold pack with a very absorbent pad with it.  You don't have to place it in the freezer or anything like that... Just leave it room temperature.  Once you are ready to use it, open the package and fold it in the middle.  (That causes the activation.)  Then you shake it for less than a minute and you are good to go.  (I immediately felt the cold as soon as it was folded in half.)
Cardinal Health has more than just products for new moms...  They have Advanced Wound Care (such as dressing, cleaning and treating,)  First Aid (like gloves and hot/ cold packs,) Personal Care (like pads and underwear) and even items such as canes and walkers!
Check this out:
***  Each year, 46.1 million inpatient and outpatient surgical procedures take place.  I don't know about you, but I am not a fan of the hospital.  I want to get out of there as fast as possible, as I feel like I can recover easier at home with all of my comforts there.  With Cardinal Health, you can have hospital quality in the comforts of home!
***  Nearly 40 million Americans provide unpaid care to an adult.  I know when my grandaddy was in the final stages, it was a blessing to have him at his house, versus in a hospital setting.  Having a wide variety of products available for home purchase made this possible.
Cardinal Health perineal cold packs – the #1 perineal cold pack in hospitals– help continue an exceptional level of care even after mothers leave the hospital with their newborns.

Made of soft material, perineal packs provide comfortable, effective pain relief with an absorbent pad and safe, controlled cold therapy. -  I took this apart to be able to describe it more to you.  The top is the extra thick pad ( you place it blue stripe DOWN)   and below it is the cold pack that you fold and shake to activate.  They are stuck together, but I wanted to see it all.
The Cardinal Health perineal packs combine an absorbent pad with an instant cold pack. - This is the pad.  I wanted to show you how thick it was.  You can feel the thickness without doing this, but I wanted you to see it.  If you have had a child before, you know that you can't have a pad too thick those first few weeks home!

Looking for Childcare? Look at @KinderCare

FTC Compliant Review Policy:
The product(s) featured in this review were provided free of cost to me by the manufacturer or representing PR agency for the sole purpose of product testing. Opinions expressed are my own and are NOT influenced by monetary compensation.

My parents have always had my best interest in mind, from the days as a baby to even now. They care and I am fortunate to have such amazing people to call my mom and dad.  I don't remember the details of it all, but I do remember going to KinderCare as a child.  In my mind it was just a "day care" type place so imagine my surprise when I was invited to come and tour a local KinderCare recently!  Now, we are not looking for childcare at this time, as I am very fortunate to stay home, but I know some of you might be, so I thought it would be nice to share with you what I learned that day.
First of all, KinderCare is so much more than just a "daycare!"  Don't get me wrong, they care for your children and it is during the day... but they are teaching them!  I was pleasantly surprised at the education going on throughout all the different age groups!
Having a baby again, I was pleased to check out the area for the little ones!  They had 2 childcare personnel in there to watch over them.  (I believe there were 5 babies total.)  One thing I loved?  You MUST do one of 2 things to enter: Take off your shoes or wear shoe covering booties!   Yes!!!  Babies are crawling around and you do NOT need to be bringing those outdoor germs on your shoes in to where they play!  They had plenty of toys for the little ones as well as this comfy looking chair if one needs a book read to them or a little one on one time.
All of their cribs are lined up against the wall.  Each one has the baby name on the outside and I loved that they had clear ends so that you could see from wherever you were what was going on.
While we were there, they actually had a pumpkin there letting the babies feel the pumpkin and having a little lesson with them.  (You can never start too early!)

Speaking of pumpkins... They are currently doing their fall lessons, so pumpkins were a theme in each of the classes, no matter what the age was!  One class was about to start their lesson while another was already actively enjoying it.  It was neat to see that they let the children each get a scoop out of the cut pumpkin.  They discussed how it felt, how pumpkins grew, how big it was and even got a math lesson in on counting the pumpkin seeds in the scoop they got!
All over the room was different area's of learning.  They had writing centers, reading area's, dramatic play ... and then I noticed a little canopy area.  I presumed it was for a reading area, but was told it was a "cozy corner."  They don't do "time out" there, but instead redirect the child and let them sit in the "cozy corner" until they are okay again.  KinderCare seems to make learning fun and at that young of an age (they start taking babies at 6 weeks old)  it is great to get a love of learning in them. They have "small groups" two times a week.  Small groups can be anything from math or phonics and they also have a "cooking" lesson one time a week!
I though the outside area was a great area for more than just recess.  They allow the children to take their learning outdoors from time to time. If they want to paint out there, great... If they want to take a walk around the playground (it is more like a reward time with the director to do so)  When the weather is nice, they even allow picnic snack time!  They do require that the children wear sunscreen and when it is warm they require each child to have a water bottle outside with them.  The playground has many area's to enjoy and they even have little roads painted on the area for them to ride their cars and what not.  Super cute.  I loved that it was so open and had shaded area's as well as sunny bright spots. (This is just one area, there is still more playground to both the front and right side of the picture!)  Come to find out, they walk the playground daily to check for safety before even allowing the children out to play on it.  Talk about being protective!

As I mentioned, they start taking babies as young as 6 weeks.. but you might have an older child. They take children until the age of 12.  If you have a young one in school, they even do after school pick up!  (14 children per van!)

We were able to enjoy checking out the local campus and I am sure they would love to give you a tour as well.  Just don't think you will walk up and head on in.  They do take safety precautions for all the little ones.  The front door is locked.  You will receive a door access code when you enroll your child.  It is a code that is linked to your family.  You use that code to gain entry.
If you have someone else picking up your child, they must be on a list and even then, they have security questions they must answer in order to take the child.  The more the better, if you ask me!  I don't think there is too much you can do to ensure the safety of my babies!

Like I said, we aren't looking at this time, but if you are... Make sure you take a look to see if there is a KinderCare near you!
