Education Toys @MindWareToys #HolidayGiftGuide #Giveaway

As the holidays get closer and closer, we start thinking about fun things to do with the kids while they are out for break.  No, we should not just plop them down in front of a television.. Nor can we afford to go all sorts of places, remember that we have 4 boys to buy for, not to mention everyone else on the list...
I was visiting the MindWare Toys website to look at all the educational toys they had...   I wanted to see if I could host a review and giveaway.  Lucky for us, they said yes!!!!

We were sent the Imaginets.  Okay, let me just tell you that could be one of the neatest things.
I guess I am slacking in that department.  We have magnets, but the ones Broxton plays with are the alphabet ones.  Well, not any more!!!
Imaginets are just so neat!  They are magnetic blocks that go in this cute little carry case that is a magnetic board.  The case is the playing area!  Yes, you read that right... THE CASE IS THE PLAYING AREA.  Not to mention that the magnetic board is also a dry erase board... You know what that means?  That means that they can play with the magnets... and then draw scenes to go with their creation!  Talk about a gift that not only gets your mind going... it also is a gift that will last for several years!
I like it because when we are done playing, we can just close the case and not worry about the magnets getting lost... Also, it just has this little clasp that even Broxton can open, so he doesn't have to come bringing it to me when he wants to play.
I keep saying that we will use it for road trips, but honestly, we haven't yet... Just have not thought about it when packing!
Broxton and I were quick to open it and try to reproduce the pictures that were in the book that was included.  I love how it was pictures and not words... so that Broxton could try and do it as well!
We have not only been using the Imaginets set for play with our creativity and the magnet aspect...  We have also been using it to discuss our colors and shapes!  This has provided endless hours of fun for both Broxton and myself.  As you can see in the pictures, they have orange, yellow, green, blue and purple colors... they also have circles, squares, triangles and other shapes... We still work on the basics at this time :)

I have really enjoyed that Broxton will go and get this and sit and play for times just with this... He enjoys the satisfaction in his creation.. and that makes a proud mama to see the look on his face!
If you think that this would be a great idea for a gift... Just enter the rafflecopter form below.
If you can not wait to see if you won, you can always head over to MindWare Toys and purchase it for $29.95.

Fuzzwipper Find Good Listeners Review

We were sent the second book in the Fuzzwippers series and we quickly opened it to see what was in store.  (Broxton seems to still have a problem listening, so I wanted to see if this might help him out.) The book is called Fuzzwippers Find Good Listeners.   The book starts with one of the Fuzzwippers (fuzzoola )and his friend.  They were worried that others would not be able to  understand each other like they did, so fuzzoola helped to write a book helping other kids and fuzzwippers understand each other.  They actually helped one another to explain to others....  Best of all, they teach that you need to listen... as they whispered an important message...
Nope, not going to tell you what it is... You need to read it to find out.
The author even has added listener tips for kids and parents at the end of the book.

Here are a few lessons for kids in the classroom, from the author:

1.   Smile, be still and relax. Don’t worry or think about anything other than what the teacher is saying.  Your teacher has put a lot of work into preparing your lesson, so sit back and enjoy.
2.   Look at your teacher when she is speaking and what your teacher is showing.  Things on the board or items passed around are easier to understand when you stay focused.
3.   Listen for clues.  The words, tone of voice and even readings are all a part of the message.  You don’t want to miss out on anything, and that way, you will ask better questions and remember more about what you are learning.

Good Times At Hell In a Cell @WWE Supports the Troops #TTTT

I was so excited when I found out that we were going to be going to Hell In A Cell.  Broxton is still into wrestling, so I knew he was going to be happy.  We bundled up and headed to the Arena to see what we going to happen.  I have been to wrestling matches before.. and we went to WrestleMania last year, but I had no clue what Hell In A Cell was going to be about.
Of course, we got there and had really great seats...
So, I got my camera ready for when they lit up and sign and I think I got a decent picture...
If you have been here before, you know that I really respect John Cena and all he stands for.  From Supporting the Troops to being VERY active in Make a Wish Foundation.  I was not surprised when he took his "Never Give Up" phrase and used it to help support Breast Cancer Awareness... He had all of his apparel in pink.  (We found out the next week that the WWE donated 1 million dollars to Breast Cancer Research!)
After all the "drama" with the storyline with AJ /Cena and Vickie, the matches started... I am also a fan of Randy Orton, so I was glad to see I got a decent picture of him! I actually think that I was able to catch several decent photo's this time, but I know that not everyone wants to see a million photos!

CM Punk

The Hell In a Cell match was between CM Punk and Ryback... Hell In a Cell means that they actually lower a "cage" type "CELL" over the ring so that there is no way out..
That was the highlight of the night.  I will tell you, it was fun to watch the excitement of it all, but it makes for crappy pictures trying to take them with a big heavy duty fence around them!
Oh, I mentioned to Marc that I wondered what celebs were there... and then they announced some baseball player for the Oakland A's was there... and then I noticed T.I. walking to his seat.... He was with his family and they only stayed for just a couple matches before they left.

The Hell in a Cell was crazy!  They had the match... and it was pretty good... THEN, out of nowhere the ump punched Ryback in his man area... laying him out... so he counted CM Punk to be the winner... but then they could not get the cage unlocked... so Ryback went after both of them... CM Punk climbed up TOP of the whole cage... and Ryback followed.  I think everyone was in shock on that one...
This was what happened next:
Ryback made up for what happened in the ring...
Although the picture isn't the best... It shows just how happy my husband and son were at the event... and that is all that matters!  My little blue face baby!  (He enjoyed cotton candy during the night!)
Don't forget the support that the WWE shows for the troops:
(From WWE)
WWE, USA Network and NBC will honor the United States Armed Forces with its 10th annual holiday special, WWE Tribute to the Troops presented by Slim Jim.  The 10th anniversary holiday extravaganza will air as a two-hour television special on Wednesday, December 19 at 9/8C on USA Network and as a one-hour television special on Saturday, December 22 at 9/8C on NBC.
WWE Tribute to the Troops has become a holiday tradition and is considered TV’s most patriotic and heartwarming show.  In the grand tradition of Bob Hope, the holiday special will feature performances by Grammy Award-nominated, international superstars Kid Rock and Flo Rida, and WWE’s biggest Superstars and Divas for thousands of military personnel and their families at the Scope Arena in Norfolk, VA.  The show will also feature appearances by Disney’s The Muppets, Access Hollywood and NBC Sports’ Michelle Beadle and more.
WWE is proud to have worked jointly with Virginia Governor Bob McDonnell in selecting Navy installations in the Norfolk, VA area for this annual celebration.

“This is a proud moment for WWE to once again recognize America’s servicemen and women as part of the 10th anniversary of WWE Tribute to the Troops,” said Vince McMahon, Chairman and CEO, WWE.  “We are honored to bring our unique brand of family-friendly entertainment to those who have sacrificed so much for our country.”
This trip marks the 10th consecutive year that WWE will bring its one-of-a-kind entertainment to our service men and women to thank them for their commitment to the country and recognition of their sacrifices. WWE Superstars and Divas will spend the weekend doing activities designed to give back to sailors and their families including a Be a STAR anti-bullying rally and hospital visits as well as spending time with our servicemen and women.
WWE Tribute to the Troops will also chronicle WWE’s goodwill visit to our troops overseas. WWE Chairman and CEO Vince McMahon, WWE Superstars The Miz® and R-Truth and WWE Divas Eve and Layla will travel overseas to spread some much needed holiday cheer to the men and women serving our country far from home during the holiday season.
If you can, make sure to watch the Tribute to the Troops, we watch it each year!!!!
*****  I was given complimentary tickets to attend Hell In A Cell.  All thoughts and opinions are my own.  I was not asked to post about the Tribute to the Troops, I just chose to do so, as an Army Wife, I appreciate all they do for our men and women in the military!

Sterling Children's Books #HolidayGiftGuide

Broxton loves reading his different books and we try to take a couple in the car for road trips.  Yes, that includes trips to the store and all that.  We normally have a book or two in the pocket of the back seat of the car just in case Broxton needs to read something!
When we went to visit my parents last weekend, Broxton and I went to watch Georgia football with my dad... so, that meant we had to take books for the ride.
We had two new ones from Sterling Children's Books and Broxton enjoyed them both!
Up first:  1-2-3 Dinosaurs bite.
This cute little board book introduces us to 5 dinosaurs...
On the first pages, we learn the dinosaur name and how to pronounce it.
Then, we count, as the dinosaur takes a bite off the page!!!
Once we hit 5, the numbers 6-10 are told about them biting and walking and to watch your 10 fingers...   I thought it was a cute book and I see how it ended up being able to teach about all 10 numbers, I was beginning to wonder how they were going to do 10 and still have a page left to write on.  This explains it all!    Broxton has enjoyed looking at the pages and counting when he reads it!
Gobble, gobble, munch, and crunch: watch the pages disappear!  Five hungry dinosaurs--from mighty little Microraptor to colorful Carnotaurus--sink their teeth into this tasty novelty book, created with the American Museum of Natural History and Caldecott-honor winner Steve Jenkins. Kids can count along as the dinosaurs take bite-sized chunks out of each page. The number of bites matches the counting number on each spread! Fun facts about the dinosaurs--and what they liked to eat--appear at the end, along with a listing of dinosaur details from 1-10.

The other book we have been reviewing?  Spot the Animals.
This seems to be a favorite out of the two and he was quick to guess the animal before I opened it up to show him the answer.  In this book, they have "clues" telling what the animal is.. with little "peeks" to see the animals..    He was excited when he would guess them correct and it was so cute to see the look of satisfaction when he said the answer!
What's hiding there? This charming novelty book, created with the experts at the American Museum of Natural History, is an irresistible first-concept book, combining colors and animals. Peek-a-boo holes in the flaps reveal a bit of a brightly hued creature hiding underneath, making a fun guessing game for preschoolers. Readers can lift the flaps to discover six animals cleverly camouflaged in their natural habitats, from rainforests to coral reefs. Illustrated by Caldecott Honor award-winner Steve Jenkins, Spot the Animals is sure to be a favorite.
If you have a couple preschoolers on your list... What would be better than a great book to snuggle up and read with them?

Thank a Veteran - Veterans Day

With today being Veteran's Day, I wanted to remind everyone to try and Thank a Vet... Whenever you see one.  It doesn't just have to be in November.  If I ever see someone in a military ball cap, I always stop and say thanks... Be it the grocery store or the gas station... Whenever I can, I try...
Also, please remember that while I am lucky enough to have my Hero home... There are tons of families out there that are not so lucky... Their hero might have given the Ultimate Sacrifice... They might have a hero that is currently deployed..   Especially with the holidays getting closer and closer, it gets especially hard for those in the military...
So please, keep them all in your thoughts and prayers.

I am from a military family, grandfathers served in the military, Two Uncles served, My Father-In-Law served and now my husband serves...    Back when I worked at Diggers, I would make it a point to thank all of the "regulars" that I knew had served...   They can never hear it enough...

I am very thankful to each and every single one!
Happy Veterans Day to all the Veterans out there...
Thank you so much for your service!

Go Thank a Veteran Today!
