Nickelodeon has so many good shows that keeps kids attention.  We don't watch as much as we used to, but we tend to have it on in the background all the time.  The noise is just something we are used to now!  A few years ago, Broxton was invited to a party from a girl in his class and it was "Shimmer and Shine" themed.  Here we are, years later and it is still just as popular as it once was!   Are you fans of the show? Hard to imagine Shimmer and Shine have their sixth DVD coming out... I love seeing the little kids get so excited with the characters that they love.  I know that Savannah is not familiar with Shimmer and Shine, but Broxton was once invited to a little girls party and that was the theme... I guess the show is still bringing in new fans as I have seen kids with them on their book bags! Savannah is still young enough to not be into all of the Nickelodeon shows, but she does have some that she likes.  We have not introduced Shimmer and Shine on a regular basis, but I have seen the kids going crazy over it and she loves it when she does get to see it on TV.  Lucky for Shimmer and Shine fans, Nickelodeon  has released a new DVD. Sorry I am not posting much these days, with the devastation of the tornadoes that hit my hometown on January 2nd and then again on the 22nd, my mind has been elsewhere. One thing?  I have been thinking about all the kids that have lost their homes and everything they owned and knew.  I have been thinking that I will take part of our DVD collection down to the shelters so that they might be able to set up a few viewing area's so that the kids can take their mind off of things and let the parents have time to try and process it all. Shimmer and Shine: Friendship Divine will be available for purchase on February 7th and I think this newly released DVD might be able to put a smile on the kids faces, at least for a bit! We have not watched Shimmer and Shine that much, but after going to a friends birthday that had that as the theme, we wanted to see what it was really all about.  The next time it was on tv, we watched. Actually had one of the older brothers here too, so he watched as well!  It is a cute show that I am sure Savannah will be watching as she gets older, glad we have it on DVD now!    Available for purchase on August 16, 2016.
