Then got sick again. Needless to say, we were sick on Christmas, but slowly getting better. I promise to be back to posting again soon... Just trying to get over all this sickness first. Hope you and yours had a great Christmas ( or whatever holiday you celebrate!)

Holidays = Healthy

With the holidays... People tend to let their health slip away... You know, eating more than normal... Eating more sweets than normal... If you want to eat more sweets... and not worry as much... Try HEALTHY CHOCOLATE ! I was sent a Xocai Nugget. I liked it, Marc says it tasted "healthy." :) I was surprised to like it, since it was dark chocolate... but I did! Hmmmmmmm . Maybe dark chocolate is finally growing on me? From their website: Xocai Nuggets: Xoçai ™ Nuggets are extremely high in cocoa content, combining the exotic flavors of dark chocolate with açai berry and blueberry. Each 12-gram Xoçai ™ Nugget is made with rich, dark, Belgian Chocolate and has an ORAC Value (or antioxidant content) of 3,120. The USDA recommends at least 3,000-5,000 per day. Head on over to their site to see what all good for you chocolate they have! Oh a

W/ W - Mommy's Helper

The other day, I was finishing up wrapping a couple of the last presents... Then I heard the sound of tape being pulled... I came around the corner to see that Broxton did not think I had taped the present well enough. He had to add more! Of course, it was cute... So, I had to snap a few pictures! ( Please over look the mis -matched pajama's. This was when we were all sick and I just did not feel like changing WHOLE outfits every time... Just what needed to be changed!)

A Real Pay It Forward

As some of you know... Marc was deployed last year... So, he missed Broxton's first Christmas. Thankfully, he is home now... So we really want this Christmas to be extra special. My parents and brother are coming up Christmas Day and will be here for the weekend. Although I do not cook, we have to eat something... :) So today... We loaded up and headed to buy our Christmas meal. (I figured go ahead and go now, as to avoid the last minute rush.) We went and bought everything we needed to feed all of us (and boy do we eat!) We planned on food for Christmas Day and then HOPEFULLY we will have plenty of leftovers for dinner and lunch the next day. We were in the checkout line... Waiting on Marc, he wanted to go grab cranberry sauce. There was a lady behind us that had 5 items. I told her to go ahead and go first, we would be awhile. She said we were fine. I told her really, it was okay... We were still waiting on my husband. She then remembered she needed tape. Marc came, we finished

Picking out our tree

Image
***** ALL PICTURES ON Jumpin Beans ARE THE PROPERTY OF NOELLE DAVIS. (Unless otherwise stated so) PLEASE DO NOT USE WITHOUT PERMISSION. ***** So, I have always had an artificial tree... Until... I met Marc. Then, we have always had a real tree! We normally just get one at Home Depot, but this year... We went to a tree farm and actually did the whole picking and cutting one! It was not as fun as I thought it would be... Maybe I was looking for cold and snow and hot chocolate? I don't know.. but we looked and looked... did I tell you that we looked? We finally found one! I told Marc we should just get a little one for Broxton . That would have been funny to see my moms face... Her thinking we got a big one and it being a little one. (Although, that might have been the smart thing.) Anyways, we know how fun it is to see pictures... Here is our trip. Enjoy! Dad and Broxton looking for the "perfect tree." Found it!!!! Time to cut it down! Broxton needs to help daddy cut i

Buddy Tops - Too cute!!! Review

Image
Do you have a BuddyTop ? We do! Broxton has the cutest little Dalmatian BuddyTop and I am so glad that I get to tell you all about it! Not only is BuddyTop a hat... it is also an adorable "buddy!" Your little one is sure to look even more precious wearing this. (Did you think that was even possible?!) Marc loves putting hats on Broxton , so this was fun for all of us! ( Broxton likes it... I just know he does!) Want to see how cute he is in his BuddyTop ?! (Sorry, they are not the best pics... We were busy and I snapped them without looking to see how they turned out!) I don't think that wearing a puppy dog buddy top is the best way to get a cat to come play with you though... LOL , but he tried! These buddytops come in several different styles... You can choose from the Dalmatian one that Broxton has, or from the other 5 animals that they offer in the winter hat series. They also offer a Spring/Fall line that makes 3 cute hats, they just are not as thick as the wi

I was TAGGED!!!!!

Well, I have been holiday tagged!!!! So, let me go ahead and answer my questions.... and decide who my lucky ones to be tagged are! :) Love ya Lorie ! 1. When do you usually know and feel that it's finally the holidays? When it gets close to Thanksgiving... Family starts planning get together's, places start decorating... and Christmas music starts playing! 2. What do you want for Christmas this year? I would LOVE an IPAD , but Santa is busy with all the young kids now... 3. Do you go all out with decorations? As soon as we get a house... YES! Until then, we just have a tree. 4. What are you doing Christmas Eve? We will be opening gifts and spending time with each other. I think it will be so fun this year, as Marc is home... and we can watch the excitement with Broxton ! 5. What are you doing Christmas Day? My parents and my brother are coming up here to spend the weekend with us. We will be opening gifts, eating and spending time with each other. 6. It's Chr

Aloha Friday - #65

Welcome to this week’s edition of Aloha Friday. In Hawaii, Aloha Friday is the day that we take it easy and look forward to the weekend. So I thought that on Fridays I would take it easy on posting, too. My question this week: What is the weather like where you are? My answer: It was cold as anything the other night... Record low of 14 degrees. The news said there were over 1,000 wrecks! To the point where they told people if the car was not in the way, leave it and call the tow company the next day! What?! Well, now the roads have thawed and it is in the high 40's. Have a great weekend!

Samantha : An American Girl Holiday DVD

Image
Yes, this is a house full of boys... But I have heard of the American Girl Dolls. What I did not know was a few other things... One, these are not just dolls... They all have a story. Which leads to part two... There are also books! The best part? I was able to learn about Samantha. No, I did not read a book or get a doll... They just released a DVD on her. I have to tell you... It was really good! Shhhhhhh... I even got a bit teary eyed! Yes, I sure did!!!! Samantha : An American Girl Holiday is the story about Samantha. A sweet young girl that lives with her grandmother, Grandmary. Both of Samantha's parents have passed and although she loves her Grandmary, all she really wants is a friend her own age. Imagine, it would get a bit lonely... A man and his three daughters move in next door as the new servants and although there is a difference in the "class levels," it does not bother Samantha. I really loved how this movie shows what is important to children. Samantha q

I AM SICK

Oh my goodness! Broxton woke me up at 5 this morning... SICK. Got him cleaned up... Sick. Cleaned him up again... FINALLY got him back to sleep. ( A little after 7) THEN- I-GOT-SICK. About every 30 or 45 minutes. I called my cousin and she says it sounds like we have a stomach virus. Please, keep me in your thoughts today... This is miserable. Also, lets hope Marc doesn't catch it... Ughhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh Be back to posting soon. Hope your week is starting better than mine. Happy note, we got a few snow flurries this weekend, I will be posting them soon! :)

Life Lists for Teens - Book Review

Image
I sure wish something like this would have been around when I was growing up! Too bad I did not know about Free Spirit Publishing back in my days! I was able to review Life Lists for Teens and I really think that this is great for ALL teens. So many pieces of advice! This book has 244 pages full of all types of information. If you open to look at the Table of Contents, you can see a break down of the different topics. Health and Wellness Getting Along Staying Safe School and Learning Going Online Planning Ahead Saving the World Focus on You Just for Fun The title for the book is perfect, as it even LISTS ways that lists can help you. Besides that, it LISTS ways that you can use this book. Finally, it LISTS things to keep in mind when reading this book! I absolutely LOVE how the book starts off by listing the 12 serious reasons to laugh! I mean, laughter is wonderful and this book helps explain it! the 12 th reason... LAUGHTER IS FREE! Another section I like? Maria Rodale's 5 thi

100 Things Guys Need to Know - Book Review

Image
If you have a house full of boys like I do, this is a great book to have. It seems as though books of the "self help" kind are always for or about girls... I guess people think that guys don't need advice? Not really sure about that... But, Free Spirit Publishing has you covered. I reviewed 100 Things Guys Need To Know and I think it is a great book. Guys need to know that there are resources available... and that there are people there to help them. Even if it is just someone to listen. I like this book for several reasons. First of all, the size of it. It is taller than most books, it is more like a notebook size. Actually, they could stack it with their notebooks and it would fit perfect! Another thing I like is that it has different blocks of information. Kind of breaks it down more for easier reading. Also, there are illustrations throughout the entire book. Besides the random illustrations, they also have 2 page spreads of GUY COMIX every so often. Yes, there are

Wholly Guacamole - Tastes So Good

Image
So, I have seen Wholly Guacamole on several blogs... Man, I did not know what I was missing! I was recently fortunate enough to be able to try several food items from their line... YUMMMMMMMMM- YYYY Let me first say that I thought they only specialized in guacamole... WRONG. Also, let me tell you about a little secret. I just tried guacamole for the first time a couple months ago. I just thought it looked nasty, so I was NOT about to try it. My mistake! This is some good stuff! Wholly Guacamole sent me a nice variety to try... First was their Salsa. Delicious. It was nice! Full of flavor. Not all runny, but not so chunky either! Just right! They also have a Garden Fresca Salsa that has been calling my name! Will have to try that one really soon! Then, it was time for their queso. Marc and I love (Okay, Broxton REALLY loves it) queso dip. We always get it at the local Mexican Place... Now, we do not have to go out to eat to enjoy, we can pick some up at the store and have it here when

Flipped - DVD Review

Image
If you are looking for a family movie for you all to watch... Let me tell you about the movie, Flipped. This movie was directed by Rob Reiner , he also directed The Bucket List and Stand By Me... Flipped is the story of tow kids who basically grow up together, but really do not even know one another. Bryce and his family move to the neighborhood when he is just in second grade... The day they move in, he meets Juli, the girl that lives across the street. Julie KNOWS it is love, right then and there... but Bryce tries hard to make sure it isn't. (Typical boy!) Through the years, they grow up and the movie follows them through junior high. Juli is a very smart and independent young lady who lets nothing change who she is, yet Bryce falls victim to peer pressure, even if it is at the expense of hurting Juli's feelings. Marc liked the music that was played throughout the movie. The movie was portrayed to have taken place in the 1960's. (Yes, he likes the older music!) The one t

Aloha Friday - #64

Welcome to this week’s edition of Aloha Friday. In Hawaii, Aloha Friday is the day that we take it easy and look forward to the weekend. So I thought that on Fridays I would take it easy on posting, too. My question: Do you have a pet? If so, what is it? My answer: No, we do not have a pet... Yet. I would like for us to get a dog ONCE WE GET A HOUSE. NOT UNTIL WE GET A HOUSE. Have a great weekend!

Stealing any Picnic Baskets? Yogi Bear DVD

Image
As long as I can remember, my dad would always say " Yogi Bear and Boo Boo" for whatever reasons! He would always talk about them stealing the picnic baskets... Then, we started watching the Yogi Bear TV show. I was SO EXCITED when I saw that Yogi Bear was on one of the kids channels that Broxton watches, so I just HAD to turn it on. I told him all about me watching it with Papa... and I hope that they can watch it together at some point. That leads me to this post... I am super excited to be able to tell you that Warner Bros is releasing Yogi Bear's All-Star Comedy Christmas Capers on DVD. This is one cartoon that I KNOW my dad will watch with Broxton ! I am excited to see it as well. I remember Yogi Bear and Boo Boo going through Jellystone Park stealing all the yummy picnic baskets from all the visitors. The Park Ranger would always get so mad! :) In this DVD, Yogi sneaks OUT of Jellystone Park and goes in disguise as a store Santa! Doesn't this just sound

I LOVE Charlie Brown and Snoopy! - Review

Image
I have been trying to figure out what movie tradition to start with Broxton for Christmas. My mom and I were at Target and we had to stop and look at the holiday movies. I mentioned to her my wish for a tradition of watching a movie every year... Then, I saw the Charlie Brown collection. Yes! This was what I thought I might get... I mean, with this collection, I have all the holidays!!! This Blu -Ray + DVD pack includes them all! Blu -Ray also includes bonus episodes!!!!! Here is the synopsis for each of the Blu -Ray +DVD: It's The Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown. This Emmy® Award-nominated special, finds the Peanuts gang outfitted in costumes, ready for trick or treating and crashing Violet’s Halloween party.
