Why Do We????

Image
Why do we do the things we do?  There is always a reason to celebrate - and with a new collection of children's books, some of the holidays are answered!  We were sent a couple books for review (one explaining Valentines and the other explaining St Patrick's Day) add to it, we had a few extra St Patrick's books thrown in!  Of course, we sent some along to my nephews in Atlanta - but I will also be donating some to the daycare that Broxton and Savannah both went to.  I love books and we all know that childcare centers could always use extra books to let kids love to learn to read! Cute Books to Show Just How Much we LOVE!!!

Image
If you know us, you know we love books around here!  When my nephew was born, I knew that we would be passing along books to him to hopefully love and enjoy like us.  We have given him several books and Savannah will try and read to him if he sits long enough...  I was given a chance to review a new collection of books to add to their ever growing library...  Talk about memories!!!  When both of my kiddos were little, we loved Elmo, so it was exciting to see an Elmo book!  Another one was from the "How to Catch" series... ( Savannah loved Unicorns and Mermaids, so yep - we had those!!!)   Check out these books showing just how much we love our littles!!!! Put a book (or two) under the tree this year! #Review

Image
If you know me, you know my kids will get at least ONE book for Christmas.  I have given them as long as I can remember...  Lucky for me, the kids both ask for them, so it isn't like it I am torturing them with knowledge!    We are lucky to get so many books for review.  We read them and pick some to keep in our personal library... we donate some to the kids schools and we even donate some to our local little free libraries.  I just wanted to share some that have been released this year...  FTC Compliant Review Policy:    The product(s) featured in this review were provided free of cost to me by the manufacturer or representing PR agency for the sole purpose of product testing. Star Belly Dream Lites - UNICORN - Added to our Collection #Review

Image
Hello! Our house has been taken over by Unicorns!  If you know my Savannah, you know she LOVES them and has loved them for around 3 years now!  She has had unicorn birthday cakes the past 3 years, her room is COVERED in Unicorns and her clothing... yep... mostly unicorns!  She spotted the Star Belly Dream Lights and has mentioned needing (note the NEED in that ) them since she saw them!    Well, lucky for us, she was sent one for review and it has quickly taken space in the bed with the other unicorns now!   FTC Compliant Review Policy:    The product(s) featured in this review were provided free of cost to me by the manufacturer or representing PR agency for the sole purpose of product testing. Not the best of pictures, but the excitement in her face when she opened the box and saw she had a STAR BELLY UNICORN was captured and that was what I wanted to get!...

Minions The Rise of Gru #Review #movienight

Image
As long as I can remember, Savannah has loved the Minions... When she was just a little bitty fan, she would only call them "guy"   all of them... If she spotted a movie, "There's Guy"  in the store... wherever...  We even had to make minion kindness rocks back when we first started them!  Broxton has enjoyed the movies, but not as much as Savannah and guy.  She now knows they are minions and never says "guy" (I miss that age though!)  She still loves them!  When she spotted the new movie, Minions The Rise of Gru, she wanted to go see it so bad!  Unfortunately, movies can be rather expensive these days... especially when you add in snacks.. so we don't go to see all of the ones we would like to. When I was given the chance to review this, I knew I had to do so... just because my girl was going to be so excited!  It arrived and I just sat in on the counter... she immediately spotted it and asked if we were going to have movie night ...

Our favorite kids author- @Joshfunk #Review #raisingareader

Image
UPDATED:  With Christmas getting closer and closer, I wanted to remind everyone of a favorite kids author in our house.  Josh Funk!  We have gifted his books to friends and have kept books for our own library!  I heard once that some people did 4 gifts at Christmas: 1- to wear, 2 - something to read, 3- something you want, 4 - something you need.  If you give books and you have younger readers...  Make sure you check out Josh Funk!    As I have mentioned again and again, the kids and I love the author, Josh Funk!   His books are fun to read and when I was able to be room mom for Broxton, the kids and I all love when I had a Josh Funk book to read!    FTC Compliant Review Policy:    The product(s) featured in this review were provided free of cost to me by the manufacturer or representing PR agency for the sole purpose of product testing. Great List from @SterlingBooks - Perfect for Giving or Keeping! #Review

Image
Updated post, since we are about to make a few book drops to our local Little Free Libraries to set off the Christmas Season!  (Sadly, we can't part with our Josh Funk books, but we did share a few others!)   As much as we love books around here, it is always a great time when we get a set of new books from Sterling Children's Books for review! Our absolute favorite kids author is with them and the excitement from the kids... and myself  when we see a new release from him?  If you have not read a book from Josh Funk, you are missing out... just an FYI that my kids and I would agree on!   FTC Compliant Review Policy:    The product(s) featured in this review were provided free of cost to me by the manufacturer or representing PR agency for the sole purpose of product testing. MARVEL - Shang-Chi #ChristmasCountdown #Review

Image
If you mention MARVEL, you have our attention.  Broxton was a fan and now Savannah loves the franchise too!   I mean, this is the girl that went as Iron Man for Disney Day at school when all the other girls were going as Elsa!   Anyways, we wanted to see Shang-Chi as soon as we saw it was coming to theaters, but life happens and we didn't get to do so. You better believe that we watched it last night and it does NOT disappoint!     FTC Compliant Review Policy:    The product(s) featured in this review were provided free of cost to me by the manufacturer or representing PR agency for the sole purpose of product testing. This movie is so good!  We loved it and to be honest, I am ready to watch it again.  We all were glued to the screen the whole time!  You don't have to be a huge MARVEL fan to enjoy, so if you are new to the family, welcome ...

Ugly Girl by Marcela Sosa #Review

Image
Another book that is great to add to your Christmas countdown, or just because library?  Ugly Girl by Marcela Sosa.  We have had this one for a while and have decided it is time to donate, but not sure if I want to donate to our local Little Free Library or Savannah's school. Either way, the message there is a good one and I want to share it.   FTC Compliant Review Policy:    The product(s) featured in this review were provided free of cost to me by the manufacturer or representing PR agency for the sole purpose of product testing. Gigi Rowe Wishes #kidsbook #review

Image
Now this was a fun book to read!!!!  Gigi Rowe Wishes was exactly what Savannah needed to read to put a huge smile on her face!   As she turned each page, she had to compare that she was just like Gigi Rowe and even asked at one time if the book was actually written about her!  When Gigi was travelling, it was her and I... and when Gigi was singing, it was when she does her karaoke!  I loved it and after we read it the first time, she asks to have us read the book that is about her whenever she wants us to read it together!  I hope that we get more Gigi Rowe adventures!   FTC Compliant Review Policy:    The product(s) featured in this review were provided free of cost to me by the manufacturer or representing PR agency for the sole purpose of product testing. Who Is God? #review #kidsbooks

Image
Having a little girl that is in first grade, you can imagine the books we read each week. You can also imagine the questions we have on a daily basis. Some are kind of crazy... would you rather brush your hair with a fork or a toothbrush?  Some are more serious... Who Is God?   Lucky for us, we have found a wonderful church that we love, so she is familiar with Who God is, but it was a good book to read and I know it will make great gifts for newborns!  I have said before, my friend Cindy had everyone give a book with a message in it instead of cards... this would be great for that occasion!   FTC Compliant Review Policy:    The product(s) featured in this review were provided free of cost to me by the manufacturer or representing PR agency for the sole purpose of product testing. Wonder Wheels Books are great for gift giving. #Review

Image
It seems like everyone is either pregnant or just had a baby these days!   When I was pregnant with Broxton, my best friend Cindy asked for everyone to give a book instead of a card for my gifts.  That set up a great library for us and it was great to be able to have these books out with sweet messages, instead of in a box just packed away. Now, I try to give books for part of the gifts whenever it is for a baby or a young one.  I love that idea!   FTC Compliant Review Policy:    The product(s) featured in this review were provided free of cost to me by the manufacturer or representing PR agency for the sole purpose of product testing. Cleaning out our collection to add to local Little Free Libraries #Review

Image
I am so excited that we are finally getting Little Free Libraries in our area!  We were lucky to get one donated and now placed at Albany ENT and since then, I have found more places want to join in!   It is good to have good news these days!   We had another one donated and painted that will be going out soon, so that means we are going through our books at home to see which ones we will be able to part with to add to the local Little Free Library!  (I have been able to get the ball rolling to get a few more placed soon, just need to get the libraries and we already have permission to post them!)  That being said, here are a couple books that might be donated, but as with all books, I can not get rid of all of them.  We absolutely LOVE Josh Funk, so his books will not be going anywhere, but there are some that we have enjoyed long enough and want to share with others!  (Don't worry, we have bought Josh Funk books and given them as gift...
