The Unofficial Hocus Pocus Cookbook - #Review #AD

Image
Let me just go ahead and be honest with you... We are not big Hocus Pocus fans! Don't get me wrong, we don't dislike it, we just aren't ones that are avid watchers of the movie... We actually JUST watched it for the first time the other night.  Mainly because EVERYONE we know (for the most part, some exaggeration here you guys!) seems to LOVE this movie.  Anyways, not wanting people laughing about me not knowing anything about Hocus Pocus, we ended up watching it. It is a cute movie and by watching it, now I know what my friends are talking about!  When I was given the opportunity to review The Unofficial Hocus Pocus Cookbook, I knew I did want to check it out!!! FTC Compliant Review Policy: The product(s) featured in this review were provided free of cost to me by the manufacturer or representing PR agency for the sole purpose of product testing. Opinions expressed are my own and are NOT influenced by monetary compensation. Halloween is over, so I can go ahead and start talking about Christmas, right? If you know someone who loves to cook with their kids... or if you know someone who has a kid that wants to cook with them (that is more our case, Broxton always wants to help... but he is wanting to use the knives and what not, like he is doing Hibachi!) We were sent the book, 4 Ingredients Kids for review and I am excited that this is all easy enough items that Broxton just might get his wish to help me more sooner than we thought!   This book includes: Introduction What's 4 Brekky? Snack Attack What's 4 Lunch? What's 4 Dinner? Homemade Takeout What's 4 Dessert? Party Time I loved the way they ...

Over 150 Recipes - Meals In a Jar @UlyssesPress

Image
Meal time can either be a good thing or a bad thing in our house... Marc works weird schedules many of the days, so we never really get to have dinner with him on any type of schedule...   It also makes it a bit more difficult to try and plan anything meal wise, as who knows when he will be eating...   We normally have dinner and then whenever Marc gets home, just just heats up his and we go on about our day...  I saw the information on Meals In a Jar and I knew that this was something that I would really love to read! The only thing was, I was thinking it was a bit different.  I thought it was more along the lines of placing items in there and then making it when it was time... I did not realize it was more along the lines of canning... I will say that I am still super glad that I was able to review this, as I see there are many ideas I can use... I had actually thought that it would be fun (and maybe a bit economical) to try canning... now I see I can do so mu...

With love of great cuisine and the bounty of our nation evident throughout this book, CAPITOL HILL COOKS contains recipes from members of Congress, as well as every president from George Washington (Cranberry Pudding) to Abraham Lincoln (Mary Todd Lincoln’s Vanilla Almond Cake) to Barack Obama (The Obama Family’s Linguini ). Taste Vice President Biden's Kahlua Chocolate Fudge Cake, Senator Charles Grassley ’s Bacon and Bean Chowder, Congresswoman Michele Bachmann's Minnesota Rhubarb Dessert, Congressman Ron Paul's Texas Sweeties, or Senator Scott Brown's Italian Soup…and hundreds more. Many contributors to this book even include notes about their ethnic backgrounds, favorite indigenous foods, and fond memories of meals shared with others. Cold weather means : CHILI weather for my mom. She loves it and although I am not a huge fan, I do get where I really want a bowl or two from time to time. I was just given the chance to review a cookbook that has every way you can ever imagine to make chili! Cowboy Food by DD Little. The author even tried to make it with Peanut Butter once! (Not a recommendation, I just have to add!) This book is a cookbook full of chili recipes... As well as side dishes and salsa's ... But, not just any old chili... Chili from the "chuck wagon" days! They even tried to make it a bit healthier for today's generation! Oh... and talk about a variety of chili!!! #HolidayGiftGuide - @countrybobs Cookbook Review

Image
There is no denying that we really enjoyed the Country Bob's All Purpose Sauce that we were able to review. You can read my Country Bobs Review if you would like. I have been trying to think of great gift idea's for my family and I thought a cookbook would be a great idea for my brother. I was so excited when the Country Bobs Cookbook arrived, as I knew this was going to be a great gift for him! It is filled with delicious sounding recipes... But, it is also filled with scripture. (If you remember, "Christ is our CEO" is their motto!) This cookbook has 4 sections: Appetizers, Soups and Snacks Grilling Main Dishes Desserts I am not even going to lie... After looking in this book, I am ready to grab a grill and make their poor man's fillet right this minute!!! It just sounds that good, to the point that I had to read it out loud to Marc!!! We will be trying this when we visit my parents!!! (My dad loves to grill!) From Meatloaf to Shrimp Scampi... This book ...

What's for Dinner? Do you have The Stocked Kitchen? Review

Image
Do I have a book for you to buy. Now! As in, read this post... Then, get this book! I was given the opportunity to review The Stocked Kitchen by Sarah Kallio and Stacey Krastins . Am I happy I did? YES!!! You see, I watched a show one time that talked about if you stocked your kitchen, you could throw together meals when need be. After that show, I went and bought the things I remembered and it worked... Until they ran out. I could not remember what I needed to stock it! With this book, it is so much more than just a list of items to stock with. (Although, they do include pull out grocery lists at the back for that purpose!) Let me give you a run down on this book: First of all, they give you a few pointers about getting prepared. Take out all items in your pantry, as you might have some of the items already! (I did, so I KNOW you will!) While the pantry is bare... clean it! Then, restock... and reorganize! I liked how they said, "if you haven't opened it or used something in...

Get Out of the Kitchen and INTO the family! Review

Image
I have made no secret on the fact that I do not really cook. Not that I don't know how to, but I really do not try new things. As I have mentioned before, it is the fear of the unknown that stops me, nothing else. When I start looking at a recipe to cook, all the ingredients seem to overwhelm me and I get a bit flustered! I would HATE to go and buy all those things... Cook and everything... Just to find out that one of those million ingredients doesn't taste great to me. I know, it is a dumb reason, but I am being honest! Think about it, I just mixed ALL those ingredients, but I have no clue which one I don't like. HA! Imagine my delight when I saw an email asking if I was interested in reviewing a new cookbook that would help me out! I know Marc was excited... Let me tell you why. (The title alone will give it away!) (Image from the Amazon website) 4 Ingredients ; More than 400 quick, easy and delicious recipes using 4 ingredients or fewer by Kim McCosker and Rachael Ber...
