Good Boy, Bad Boy - @abramsbooks

Bad Boy, Good Boy is being released on May 7, 2013.
I really liked the story, but it did bother me a bit that they kept calling Sam a bad boy.
Bad Boy, Good Boy is a really cute book that is based on 4 short stories.  Each of the stories have great illustrations and they follow Sam on his adventure.
Yes, Sam does things that would upset adults... and maybe Sam doesn't think... but I really did not like that they kept calling him a bad boy...   (I know, maybe it is just me...but I am saying I did not like it.)
Anyways, at the end of each story, we see why Sam did what he did... and we learn that Sam is NOT a bad boy... he is actually a Good Boy... that just did things wrong to get the results... He was never a "bad boy" on purpose, as his heart was always in the right place...
Broxton and I were able to talk about what all Sam did... and how it could have been handled differently, so maybe that was a good way to do it... To let the book point out it was bad... and then for me as the mom to talk to Broxton about making it good...
I do love the illustrations... and the message...
I feel as though this book was able to talk to Broxton about doing the right thing, and for that... I loved it... Also, Sam is just the cutest dog with a huge heart, so that made it all the better for us!!!

Having a dad that has his own CPA firm... and a brother that is getting ready to graduate with his Master's in Accounting... You know I am all about sharing a few tips to make tax time easier.  I never thought much about Master Lock in terms of organization.... Quite honestly, I thought they just supplied locks of all sorts...
Then, I was informed of more...
With Tax Season's Deadline almost here... When is a better time than now to start preparing for next year?  In stead of running around trying to find all the different types of papers you need to give when filing your taxes, why not keep them all nice and neat in a Master Lock Storage Security Box?

We were sent one for review and I was rather impressed.  This box is lightweight... so you won't break your back lugging it around... but it isn't flimsy as if it was just a folder or anything.
I love that it has a built in shelf/groove for making hanging files so much easier...
Best of all, it LOCKS!
Yep, it comes with 2 keys to keep your items stored and safe!

Right now, Master Lock is running a contest to provide $1,000 to help one lucky winner.  To be eligible to win, you must sign up for the Master Lock Vault.. An "online product" to help store your information.
Just read more about helping make filing taxes easier than you think:

Follow these five tips to utilize digital technology to its full advantage to make the complete process – from organizing receipts to claiming a refund – quick and simple.

1. Request electronic copies of your tax forms. Many employers offer employees the option to receive their W-2 forms electronically, instead of by mail. By eliminating the risk of postal delays or missed deliveries, this ensures that your W-2 will be delivered securely as soon as it is available. Plus, faster W-2s can mean faster tax returns.

2. Securely store documents online. Avoid the mess of a mound of paperwork by storing – and organizing – all of your tax-related documents online. By utilizing a free, secure service such as the Master Lock Vault (www.masterlockvault.com) you’ll have easy access to all of your files wherever you are and help ensure that none of your paper documents will ever be lost, misplaced, stolen or damaged. Not only can you upload PDF forms, but you can upload photos from your phone of important receipts and expenses for your records. All data is instantly synchronized between the website and the App.  Bonus: securely store log-in information for your bank accounts and tax filing site in the Vault so you’ll never have to worry about forgetting your username or password.

3. Think taxes year-round. Don’t wait until you’re ready to file your taxes to start collecting and organizing the supporting documents you’ll need to complete your return. Avoid the scramble by capturing and uploading a digital image of your receipt each time you pay the babysitter or have a tax deductible transaction, fill a prescription at the pharmacy, or make a charitable contribution such as dropping off a clothing donation to your local thrift store.

4. Opt for direct deposit. If you’ve done everything else online, why request a hard-copy check when it comes time to claim your refund? When combined with electronic filing, direct deposit is the fastest way to get your refund. If you’re on the other side of the spectrum and find that you owe taxes, opt to pay online and you can avoid the long tax-season lines at the post office.

5. Call for help. Sometimes, outside advice is necessary, and you can now get the help you need without leaving home. Based on the complexity of your question, there are a variety of resources to turn to. For example, the IRS offers a toll-free hotline for tax questions during weekdays. Several tax-prep software providers also offer guidance via online forums or on their social media feeds.
