Opinions expressed are my own and are NOT influenced by monetary compensation. Having lived in a dorm for 2 years and then an apartment for quite a few after that, I am all about trying to save space.  That being said, I am always so fascinated by the way they can concentrate products to use less for the same job - therefor taking up LESS space and leaving LESS trash!!!    We were recently sent a sample to try out and I was SO SURPRISED to see how small an amount you need to do a load of laundry. Literally it was so small, I was so concerned that it was not going to do anything.... Well, I decided to give it a try - and it seems to have worked! A one quart bottle of Simply  SoapBerry  provides a 1-year supply of detergent, based on 2 loads per week, clean...

Opinions expressed are my own and are NOT influenced by monetary compensation. Having a 4 year old, we have our fair share of dirt...  From running and playing outside to arts and crafts. When the boys come for the summer, we have plenty of laundry and boys = sweaty clothes!   I was excited to hear about Wisk Power Blasts. Not only did I learn that there is a Wisk Deep Clean Power Blast detergent, I learned about one of my last favorite things:  Sweat! Check this out:   Did you know that there are 250,000 sweat glands in your feet?   Or, that the average person can produce 1-3 gallons of sweat each week?  ...    Most people don’t realize that the average washload contains 20 times more hidden body oils and sweat than visible stains and this hidden d...

Summer is Almost Over- Launder Before Storage

Image
We wash laundry pretty much every other day... Between Broxton's school clothes / play clothes and then Marc has work clothes and then clothes for the house... Not to mention my clothes and our towels... Laundry is often...  A friend of mine does laundry daily... I think I blogged about her before, how she has 2 kids and a husband, but they somehow or another go through like 4 loads of laundry per day... I just do not see how anyone can go through that much laundry... But that isn't my house...  Anyways, we like using laundry detergent that not only keeps our clothes looking  but also smelling fresh... The thing is, we don't buy the priciest detergent (We don't buy the cheapest either, don't worry.) Recently we were sent a couple samples of the Roux Maison, eco friendly laundry products, for review. It is a bit of a two fold thought for me... Review from their PR company:  ....   Roux   Maison , a unique collection of eco friendly laundry prod...

Mrs. Meyer's Cleans With a Minimal Amount

Apartment living has its ups and downs.. I could list tons of them for you, but I want to focus on one in particular right now.. Laundry Room Space. You see, we have no storage closets, so for the most part, our laundry room is storage too...  From wrapping paper to tools, they go in there..  So, when it comes time for necessities, smaller is better... I love buying toilet paper and things in bulk, as I know we will need them (and it's cheaper) but then, we run out of room!   That was why I was excited to try Mrs. Meyer's Clean Day Detergent.  This little bottle has 68 loads worth in it!  That is a great deal for a small bottle.    Not only is it small, so it takes up less room..  It is also great smelling... I love to wash my clothes and have a great scent on them when they come out of the wash.  You know, I don't see if detergents bubble up or anything, since we have a plain old washer that you can not see in.. (Not to ment...

Starting off on a Clean Note... @Purex #giveaway

Image
Okay, so every day in our house it is just the three of us... Marc, Broxton and Myself. Throughout the year, we get the boys and our crazy house of three turns into a chaotic house of six. Talk about a jump!  Well, we are all about saving money, but not at the risk of quality.   Know what I mean? We have tried several detergents and some I have liked, others not so much.  Some were great, but just not economical. A bit ago, I grabbed a bottle of Purex. It was VERY affordable, so I wanted to check it out. I loved the price... and the end results! The clothes came out clean and smelling fresh.   We don't always use a liquid fabric softener, but we do from time to time... When I saw that Purex fabric softener was just as affordable as their detergent, I was a happy mommy. We go through tons of laundry, just the three of us. Marc wears about a million articles of clothing during the winter.  When he was taught to dress in layers, he PASSED with f...

Save Time With Wool Dryer Balls - Review

Image
I am all about saving time... and money. I mean, at the end of the day, I have always heard... "Time IS money." Also, our washer and dryer seem to be on their final days... I love them and will hate when they leave, as they are sentimental to me... (I know, you are thinking a washer and dryer, sentimental? I will blog about that another day!) Anywho ... I have been reading online about these things called Wool Dryer Balls . Now, I am not a genius or anything, but if it says it will cut down on time... and eliminate the need for dryer sheets... I want to try it out! I received the Wool Dryer Balls from The Willow Store . They are said to help your clothes tumble dry... (You know since there are balls in there fluffing them.) It says for best results... use 2 -3 balls. Of course that meant I was using 3!!! Quite honestly, I noticed a very small reduction in drying. Now, it could be because our dryer is about to die... but I do not know. What I have noticed is that the clothes ...
