Since soccer is all the talk these days... I wanted to share the Dora DVD headed to stores on June 24th.
This looks to be a cute one and although it features a girl as the main character, Broxton actually enjoys this show!  Who doesn't love Boots?

Dora the Explorer: Dora’s Magical Sleepover Episode Synopses:

Dora’s Museum Sleepover Adventure
Journey into a painting with Dora, Boots, and Diego on their quest through a world of giants, unicorns, knights and more!  The trio must return Prince Miguel’s magic cape to the castle to break the spell that has turned him into a lion.

Dora’s and Sparky’s Riding Adventure!
After Dora helps Sparky the horse feel better, she needs to take him back to the barn.  She will need the viewer’s help to avoid prickly bushes, falling rocks and Swiper too.

Dora’s Super Soccer Showdown
Get ready for a big game in Brazil with Dora and the Golden Explorers as they take on a team of monsters in the Big Cup Soccer Tournament!

Dora the Explorer, created by Chris Gifford, Valerie Walsh Valdes and Eric Weiner, is a play-along, animated adventure series starring Dora, a seven-year-old Latina heroine whose adventures take place in an imaginative, tropical world filled with jungles, beaches and rainforests.  She explores her world just as preschoolers do every day, and the show is designed to actively engage its audience in an interactive quest using a variety of learning techniques.

In every episode, Dora and Boots invite the audience to participate in an exciting adventure, where each step of their journey consists of a problem or puzzle that Dora and the audience must think their way through in order to solve the next problem.  Dora is proudly bilingual and uses her knowledge of English and Spanish to communicate with her friends, overcome obstacles and reach her goals.  In each episode, Dora teaches Spanish words or phrases to the viewers and then asks them to use it to solve a problem and forge ahead.  Ultimately, Dora and her best friend, Boots, triumph, and the story always ends with a “We Did It!” anthem.

If you were here yesterday, you were able to learn all about the different effortless meals options through Wal-Mart and Coca Cola right now... If you need to refresh your memory, head on over to check it out...  (BIG thanks to The Coca-Cola Company for providing compensation for this blog post.)  I wanted to take the time today to tell you about our experience with them!

Of course, the colder the better on our beverage of choice!  Coke!   Being in the south, you know we also have Mason Jars to drink out of! Really?  Is there anything besides Coke and Sweet Tea around here?  (Yes, we do drink water!)

Broxton actually chose the Chicken, Bacon, Ranch sandwich that he wanted to eat.  It was LOADED full and I cut it into 4ths for us to try it out... We still had leftovers!
Broxton decided that he wanted to try the Roast Beed that daddy had chosen and he really seemed to enjoy it as well.  I loved the Roast Beef and it is still up in the air as to what our favorite would be.  I loved that although it was already made and in the wrapper, the bread and sandwich tasted fresh, as if it was just made specifically for us!
For a different dinner option one evening, we went with the side items (that night we actually got potato salad, macaroni salad and coleslaw)  and paired it up with an original rotisserie chicken.  Broxton enjoys this chicken just as much as we do and it makes me happy knowing we are eating a "sit down" meal together, but that I did not have to go and cook all night, missing out on family time!
By shopping at Wal-Mart for effortless meals, we were able to spend more time outside and not worry about being in the kitchen.  We even got to save money and bought Broxton a kiddie pool for him to enjoy outside on these hot summer days!
To add more to our summer, we even bought him a few outdoor toys and he just had to have a windchime for us to enjoy while being outside!
To me, making these memories is so important right now...
I am so glad that Wal-Mart has these options to provide meals that taste great for our family!
As a huge My Coke Rewards fan...  I love that by purchasing these items, we can gain even more points!

Being a mom is one of the best things in the world to me...
Getting to see him learn and grow, absolutely amazing!  Summer is so fun for us, since there is no worry about having to get up and go to school, it is about enjoying being at home and as always, making memories! One thing I am not fond of?  Running from here to there and having to worry about what to cook for dinner. This summer started off a bit busy for us.  We had his preschool graduation, a big brother graduation, karate classes went to 2 times a week instead of 1 and he was still in baseball!
So, although school was out, we still had places to go and things to do!  The last thing on my mind was running to/from karate and baseball while also thinking about cooking a family meal every night.
Luckily for us, we love our neighborhood Wal-Mart and they had the effortless meals to make dinner time a breeze!  Are you unfamiliar with the effortless meals?  Well, Wal-Mart and Coca-Cola have teamed together to provide meals that are quick and easy!  Today, I (along with the help from Broxton) get to share them with you!!!!   Thanks to The Coca-Cola Company for providing compensation for this blog post.

Up first - have you seen their Sandwiches?
They have quite the selection and we really had a hard time choosing which ones we wanted to take home to try!   The choices offered are:
American Grinder, Italian Hero, NY Deli Sub, Ham Swiss, Turkey Colby, and Roast Beef.  If you want to cash in on the My Coke Rewards, you can purchase a half sandwich and a 16 ounce coke product --- then enter the information to score points!

But, OH- MY- GOODNESS!!!  Look at how BIG that whole sandwich is!  We decided to grab a couple of those big boys to cut up and share and they were DELICIOUS!  If you follow on Instagram, you saw that I did post a few pictures of our dinner one night!

Wal-Mart also offers up some pretty juicy rotisserie chickens that are sure to delight!  You can even throw it on a plate and claim it as your own, if you feel the need!  (No, I have not done that - Marc would surely not want to try the chicken if I tried that one on him!)  There is such a wide variety of flavors on the chicken, so I encourage you to see what all is offered.  I will admit that I was a bit shocked at the flavors, as we have never seen that many in our store, but you better believe I am going to ask them about a few next time we are there!  Look at the list by clicking on Rotisserie Chicken Meals link on the Coke Rewards website here.

The final selection in their effortless meals?  These HUGE Pizzas!  The flavors offered are : Pepperoni, Cheese and Five Cheese!  Broxton wanted to get a pizza as well, but we decided against it that night.  That would be a great way to feed all the boys when they get here for vacation!

As we know, meals are not complete without a few side items...  I always have such a tough time deciding which "salad" I want to get... With all the different macaroni salads and potato salads, I just grab one that catches my eye that time... and we normally always have to grab a thing of coleslaw too!

Finally, of course, around this area - (Georgia, Born and Raised!)  our beverage of choice is the good old Coca - Cola Classic!  With 2 liters down to small cans, you can grab what is best for your serving options!

Make sure you come back tomorrow to learn more about the effortless meals.  I just wanted to introduce you to them today...   You know, to get them into your thoughts!

Wizard World - Atlanta Comic Con Review #makingmemories

FTC Compliant Review Policy:
The product(s) featured in this review were provided free of cost to me by the manufacturer or representing PR agency for the sole purpose of product testing. Opinions expressed are my own and are NOT influenced by monetary compensation.

If you remember a post from a couple of weeks ago, I told you I was going to be surprising Broxton with a trip to Wizard World - Comic Con when it came to Atlanta...   He was so excited to go,as we took Marta down there and he was "excited to be on a train!"   If you follow me on INSTAGRAM, you saw some of the highlights of our day, but I wanted to share more with you guys!!!

I was totally walking in blind, as I had NO CLUE what to expect, so it was going to be a fun adventure for us both!   When we first got to Comic Con, we walked in and already saw a few different types of people... Of course, some were dressed up, but no where near what I thought we would see.  Broxton already had in his mind that he wanted to see any of the characters from STAR WARS... and of course, he wanted to show he was brave if he came across any Zombies!!!

As we entered the actual Exhibit Hall :
It was every comic fans dream!
There were booth after booth after booth of basically anything and every thing comic related..
I wanted to try and walk up and down each aisle to see what all was available - but when your 5 year old sees SPIDER MAN!!!  You break up that thought process and you head over to see what Spider Man is doing!
Broxton thought it was pretty cool to see a "REAL LIVE RACE CAR" so we had to take a picture of that.
(Most of the photo ops like this came with a price.. You could take a free picture from behind the ropes, or you could pay to get closer... We opted for freebies!)
The BATMOBILE was in there!  They had a few people dressed up from Batman there, so of course they got plenty of photos of them in front of it...   Everyone was taking pictures, so I had to get in on it as well!
Everywhere that we turned, people were dressed up.  We were able to see Spiderman, Captain America, Iron Man, Frankenstein, A Green Power Ranger and all sorts of people dressed up that I have NO CLUE who they were.
At one point, we heard the squeals of about a million teenage girls... I had to see what it was and it ended up being some group of boys known as "THE FAM TOUR."  Come to find out, they are some internet sensation that got famous from posting VINE VIDEOS.  I immediately had flash backs to when I was a kid and saw New Kids On the Block!!!   Every time they walked around, girls were screaming... and it cracked me up to hear them yelling "HE TOUCHED MY HAIR!"  and all the other things they were saying as they walked by!
I will admit, I really wanted to see Norman Reedus.  (AKA DARYL ON WALKING DEAD)   We love that show and I thought it would be awesome to see him...  He had a line a mile long... and we only saw him in passing...
BUT -- lucky us..  he walked by at one point and sprayed silly string on us...
Then, he turned around and gave the bottle to Broxton and told him to make sure he had fun and sprayed everyone!
Of course, Broxton was THRILLED with that and everyone around us was talking about how cool it was that Broxton was given a gift from Norman Reedus himself!
A bit later, we were actually lucky enough to get a picture of Broxton and Norman Reedus!  As he walked by, Broxton told him thank you for the Silly String!  Norman stopped and bent down to take a picture with him, where he then gave him a necklace... (That we then found out was the beads from when he was the Grand Marshall at the Mardi Gras parade this year!)  Talk about one of a kind keepsakes!
Talk about a 2 for one!!!  We were also able to grab a photo of Broxton with Michael Rooker - AKA MERLE ON WALKING DEAD-
I hate to admit this one, but a new to me person --- Milo Ventimiglia.  He was SUPER NICE.
We walked by his booth and noticed that he ALWAYS had a huge smile on his face and was just so very nice to everyone that came by.  So, we stopped in when he wasn't busy to say hello.  I complimented him on his great attitude all day long - he seemed to NEVER take a break!  He asked our names, used them in speaking with us and was generally a very nice guy... After we walked away, I had to google to see if I was familiar with him that just wasn't ringing a bell at that time...   Then, we went back to chat once I found out that he was the voice of Wolverine.  He remembered our name and chatted again, talking to Broxton about being Wolverine!  (Broxton thought that was the coolest thing ever and has told LOTS of people that "he met WOLVERINE!")
Now, this was just too cool to me and Broxton will hopefully appreciate it when he gets a bit older...
BRIAN MUIR  ---  He met BRIAN MUIR - THE SCULPTOR OF DARTH VADER (and several others... but for us - DARTH VADER and STORM TROOPERS - it doesn't get better than that!)
Mr. Muir was so very nice and even offered to get up to take a picture with Broxton.
One person that we were excited to see was THE BIG SHOW from WWE.  He was even bigger in person than I even imagined.   We weren't able to get a picture with him, but did get one as he walked by!
All in all, we had a great time!  We went in not sure what to expect and left with great memories!
The majority of the area was all of the booths of comic things...
From shirts for sale to masks...  Jewelry to "weapons"
You could meet different comic book artists / authors and there were several illustrators there.
I was not familiar with their names, but as soon as I saw their works, I knew them.
It was very much a learning experience to see all of the cool things... and I am so glad that I was able to get Broxton's picture with the few that we did.

For the celebrities, you could buy a package.. You could do an autograph package where you stood in line and could pick a picture and they would sign it for you... Or you could do the picture package where you could get your picture taken with them.    They had such a great variety of celebrities at the Atlanta one.  Any Doctor Who fans would be happy to know that they had someone there... as well as others.
At one point, this guy walked by- we said "hello" to one another and then as he passed it hit me.. I KNEW HIM --  It was none other than Hercules -Mr. Kevin Sorbo!

I will say that I was so impressed with the attitudes of the celebrities.  I am not sure how all of them acted, but I did take note with Norman and Milo...  EVERY SINGLE TIME we went by their booths, they were laughing and joking and having a great time.  It really seemed like they truly cared about each person that they spoke with and in the one on one time with them, it really did seem like that person they spoke with was the only person around that mattered.  You know, (especially with me and my love for celebrities)  if you meet a celebrity and they think they are better than everyone else, it really rubs me wrong and you lose a fan... Since meeting the ones we did - I can honestly say that they have gained a more dedicated fan now...
I just honestly wish I would have gotten their autographs now, as it would be a great keepsake for Broxton to go with his pictures...Maybe one day!

So - if you are in / near a Wizard World - Comic Con area - I think you would have a blast to go and make lots of memories!  I know we did and look forward to next year too!
Make sure you visit WIZARD WORLD to see if they are headed your way - FYI- PHILADELPHIA is THIS WEEKEND (June 19-22)

What is better than football?  How about football AND Charlie Brown!
We were sent the DVD  Touchdown Charlie Brown  for review and as soon as Broxton saw the case, he immediately had to yell out "FOOTBALL!"  followed by "Charlie Brown!"  finally followed up with " I want to watch that NOW, mom!"

Of course, I put it on and we laughed and had a great time enjoying a classic such as Snoopy and the gang!

"Take to the filed as Peanuts score another all-new collection of hits.  It's the big homecoming game and Charlie Brown is in the spotlight at team kicker.  If that wasn't enough, he is also an escort for the homecoming queen and her court.  But when Charlie Brown finds out the homecoming queen is none other than the Little Red-Haired Girl, can he overcome his anxiety and fulfill the tradition of giving the queen a kiss on the cheek before the first dance?  Good grief, find out it IT'S YOUR FIRST KISS, CHARLIE BROWN.  Then, march up the field with 3 episodes from THE CHARLIE BROWN AND SNOOPY SHOW.  In WOODSTOCK, Woodstock is not impressed when Snoopy's basketball lands in his new nest.  STRAWS finds Charlie Brown and Lucy having a discussion over a glass of lemonade, but it's Snoopy who is sneaking all the sips.  While FOOTBALL has us wondering if Charlie Brown is falling for it again when Lucy tees up the ol' pigskin. So gear up and get ready to go head  to head with the best times around in TOUCHDOWN CHARLIE BROWN."

Were you ever a Peanuts fan?  Have you passed that tradition along to your kids?

I have mentioned before that I am a steward for our local Little Free Library... I was so happy to have the opportunity to work with them... and the big day is almost here!  This Saturday, June 21st at 1pm - We are doing the dedication and will be putting the books in there!
Before the dedication, I did want to take a minute to thank the people that helped me make this day possible:
My friend Alissa at Planet of the Apels.  She was the one who got me in touch with the correct people to make this day happen!
The BookWorm of Powder Springs.  This place is awesome...  It is a book store of new and used books... and they donated books to help get the library started and we are already working to make sure that we work together to keep things going!
Our Local Home Depot.   They supplied us with some of the items we needed to get the library installed, as well as with a bit of manual labor in getting things taken care of.

Broxtons former K3 teacher, Mrs. Chickvara.  She donated books from her class to get the library going!
Atlanta Harley Davidson.  They are not only allowing us to put the library there on their property, they are going to be working with me to keeping the library in great condition... and it all starts THIS SATURDAY at their KIDS DAY!!!!

The Book Worm of Powder Springs.

Home Depot was great and jumped on board to get things going great!

Marc working on getting the prime spot for the library!

Broxton and Marc working on installation of the Little Free Library.
Broxton working with daddy on the Little Free Library.
Little Free Library Installation COMPLETE!

The last thanks is the biggest.
A HUGE thank you to Marc for getting the library built for me!  I asked him to help me out and he jumped right into it with no questions asked!  He was able to build it for me... and then install it at the Harley Dealership for me to make sure it was set and ready to go for Saturday!

I really hope that this Little Free Library has great success in our community.  In a day where technology is everywhere, I am fighting so hard for hard copy books not to die away!  Not to mention that seeing a child reading is one of the greatest things you can witness!
Don't forget- this Saturday, June 21st...
Harley Davidson of Atlanta.
Little Free Library Dedication at 1 pm.
Come hang out and enjoy kids day!
(Kids day will have arts and crafts and even a BLOW UP MECHANICAL BULL!)

We are going with a "Book or a Buck"
Feel free to bring either one to donate and help the library be a great success!
