The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel - Available September 18

Image
I used to be all "in the know" on movies...  If I wanted to see them, if I though they were going to be good or bad... I had an opinion on them all...  That was before I was a mom and definitely before we moved where there is no rental store... I love that I get to review movies on here, so I get to still share my thoughts on the movies that are out there... Recently, I was sent a copy of The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel and to be honest, I had no opinion going into it about what it was ... My mom simply kept asking "is that the movie where they all move to India?"   I had to tell her I had no clue, but once I watched it, I would let her know... So ...  Now that I have seen it, let me share with you...  The movie actually had a great cast...  Many of the faces were familiar and I knew I knew them, but wasn't familiar with any of the names... The three characters I recognized the most :  Dev Patel - the kid in Slumdog Millionaire (I kne

Lift-the-Flap and Learn - Two New Books

Image
I can not lie to you... Let me tell you something and I am not ashamed to admit it... I am 33 years old (just turned it in August...) and I have really enjoyed LEARNING flipping through two new books that we just received for review... Up first, Who's Looking at  You? , is a great lift the flap book that has you guessing what eyes are staring back at you...  I tell you what, each time I wanted it to be an owl and I kept going whoo- who - whoo...  but they had all sorts of animals... From the first one (a Gorilla, I got that one) you learn that a Gorilla doesn't want you to stare, they think it is a sign of anger... to the page with the sea turtle, did you know that when they leave the water, they shed tears?  It is to get the salt water out and to keep sand out... I loved the information that I was learning... The only drawback I have?  The last two pages had eyes on them and you could flip the flap to see what animal it was, but there was no "tidbit of informat

Sons Of Anarchy - Boot Campaign

Image
I think I am one of the few "motorcycle fans" that has yet to see Sons Of Anarchy. You see, everyone we know that has a bike, or has had a bike, or knows bikers has told us that we have "got to see" SOA.  We just haven't watched yet... Key word...   YET I hate that so many Motorcycle Clubs get bad names because you have some that think they are bad... but for the majority, they are good... At least in my opinion... When Marc first joined a MC, one of the boys asked why he joined a "gang" and if he was going to get all sorts of  "gang tattoos"  (Marc already has tat's)   It was quite funny, seeing that even at his age, he was associating a MC with "gang."  We started telling him about it not being a gang, but a brotherhood...  I am proud to tell you about how some of the stars of Sons of Anarchy teamed up with the Boot Campaign for the second annual boot ride and rally on August 26th in California...  If you

In a Land Called Honalee? Puff The Magic Dragon

Image
Puff the Magic Dragon, lived by the sea, And frolicked in the autumn mist in a land called Honalee..... Tell me this, can you read that without singing the song?   I might be the only one, but as soon as I started reading the board book of Puff the Magic Dragon (out to celebrate the 50 years of magic)  I was singing the song like it was on the radio!   I just could not help my self!   We love books and singing and dancing and playing and everything else, so when the board book arrived, I was quick to grab it and look through to see the sweet and loveable dragon being brought to life all over again!  Can you believe that Puff the Magic Dragon celebrates its 50th year this September?!   I mean, where does the time go?   I am glad to know that Broxton will not only know the song (and the movie,) but that we will also now have the book to flip through and relive the magic over and over again... The board book is 24 pages, enough to give you the enjoyment, but not so m

Know A Sports Parent Of the Year?

Image
Growing up, we always had a subscription to Sports Illustrated.  I am serious, I think my dad probably started getting it when we had a magazine sale or something and then we always kept it... I even sent Marc our SI issues after we read them when he was deployed... I know it was late, but interesting articles is better late than never, right?  My dad had SI and then I believe it was my brother that started getting Sports Illustrated for Kids...  We are very much sports fans, so I figured when Broxton got a bit older, we would once again have SI for Kids in our house... I never really thought about the fact that the boys might enjoy reading them when they come to visit... Everyone can use "reading material" at some point or another, if you know what I mean...   That being said, go ahead and sign up for a subscription today... At only $19.95 a year (which includes the tablet edition and the print edition...)  it is really too good to pass up. If you would like to sign up

Do You See Me? W/W

Marc has been away for training with the ARMY...  Once he was home, Broxton was a happy boy...  Especially since he brought home "Army Makeup" according to Broxton!!!! Ha ha ha... Of course daddy had to "paint" Broxton's face for him!   I love these two! Hope you all are having a great week!

Sweet Tea, Tetley Please

Image
As we all know, I am a Georgia Girl..  Born and Raised. A "true Southerner."   With that, I hope you know that this Southern Girl LOVES Sweet Tea.   A nice glass of Sweet Iced Tea is always a good thing.   It is something that can not be played around with either :) It is funny when you go to a restaurant that serves UNsweet Tea only... If you order Sweet Tea, they will either say they do not make it, or they will tell you that they will bring you a glass of unsweet tea and some sugar and you can make it yourself... If you are a sweet tea fan, as I am, you know that doesn't work...  The tea has to be hot/warm when you add the sugar to get it to melt...  Let me tell you the best way to make your sweet tea: Purchase TETLEY ICED TEA bags. Put your tea bag in a pot of water.  Let the water come to a nice boil.  Once it is boiling, turn the stove off and place a lid on your pot.  Let it steep for a bit.  (Time varies when I make it) Add sugar t
