As a child, I was a huge fan of Mr. Rogers neighborhood, so it was only meant to be that I was going to be so excited when I heard of Daniel Tiger's Neighborhood.  Have you heard of it?
Long story short- (This is totally my opinion... so don't go thinking this was stated anywhere besides here)  If you were a fan of Mr. Rogers, you remember how he would put his shoes on, hang up his sweater and how he had that adorable trolley???  Well, now- we have Daniel Tiger, who also puts his shoes on, wears a red sweater ... and get this - HE RIDES THE TROLLEY.    The characters are actually off-springs of the characters we loved from the original show. You can "meet the characters" and see just what I mean.

We were recently sent the two DVD's that were released with Daniel Tiger Episodes on it.
As soon as Broxton saw the case, he was so excited, yelling " I can't BELIEVE you got Daniel Tiger for me!"    He was happy and I was too.   This show is geared more for 2-4 year olds, but quite honestly, Broxton has enjoyed watching the show even now - you know, since he has been 5 for less than a month! Ha ha ha!    I love the show too and we can both enjoy it together, whenever we want to now!!

*** This has been updated, as I forgot to mention one totally awesome part.  Read the bottom!  ***
I will admit, we have never really done anything for St. Patricks Day.  (I mentioned this before, but I want to make sure everyone knows this.)  Last year, Broxton went to school on St. Patricks Day and came home totally stoked talking about all of this stuff that the leprechaun did to his class.  This crazy little leprechaun made a mess, turned things crazy and did all sorts of stuff... but at the end, that leprechaun left each of his classmates a treat... He was SO EXCITED about it and still talks about it today.
Well, luckily for us... we have a new tradition that we will be starting this year!
We will have a leprechaun visiting our house!!!!

We were sent a super cute book for review, The Naughty Leprechaun Story , for review!!  In The Naughty Leprechaun Story, we meet Liam and Leyland, two leprechaun brothers.  They are twins, but are totally opposite!  Liam did really good in school and likes to reward with toys and treasures... but then you have Leyland that was always in timeout and loves to leave treats and tricks!!!   In this book, you learn their story ... and learn that they will come visit you... Depending upon how you have been, that is which leprechaun comes to visit!   The last night (the night before St. Patricks Day) they both come to visit you!!!
I love that Liam doesn't ask for a million things, but simply asks "to do your best."
We have gone over that a million times with Broxton.  We don't expect the world from him, but we do expect him to do the best he can do!!   I love that this book goes over that again!

I can not wait to introduce The Naughty Leprechaun Story to Broxton and start a new tradition!  As I have said, it is all about making memories!!!!

Updated section -
The great thing besides the story line on this book???  It comes in a keepsake box.
But get this ---  It comes with a pretty awesome keepsake coin too!  On the coin - you have Liam on one side and Leyland on the other.  Each of the nights leading up to St. Patricks day (You start on March 14th)  you let the kids pick out if they want Liam or Leyland to come and visit them.  If they have been good - meaning DID THEIR BEST- they have nothing to worry about...   But, although they picked out who they would LIKE to come visit...   It is totally up to the leprechauns who actually comes!    Then, the night of the 16th , BOTH of them come and leave treats, tricks and treasures.
You don't have to worry about losing the coin, as it is not the size of a typical coin, it is a special coin that is rather large... as in it has a diameter of about the size of a soda can!  (Ha ha, I could not think of anything else to compare the size to!)    I think that this would make a great gift to add a fun and exciting tradition to your household!!!!

We are always thinking of being healthier... Whether or not we always follow through, that is a different story... But still, it is with good intentions.  So, when I was contacted about trying out CASCADE ICE - I was all about it.   Surprisingly, we all drank them like they were the best tasting drinks we had ever tried.  Now, this is a big deal... Especially since we, at one point, said we were done with soda... but then we started back drinking it again.  Knowing that we could enjoy these drinks and not think about soda- that was awesome!!!!
Out of all the flavors, I would have to say that the Blueberry Watermelon was my favorite... or the Peach Mango.  It was a tie with them, but honestly, they were all great!

Even Broxton loved trying the different flavors!
I did not mind him trying them, since they were zero calories and no sugar!

A couple things for you to know about Cascade Ice -

You will never hear me acting like I know anything about history or politics.  I hate to admit that, but I am just not that knowledgeable about that sort of stuff.  When I saw that there was a movie being released called "Killing Kennedy" I thought it would be a great one to watch.  Honestly, I was always fascinated about the similarities in the death of Kennedy and Lincoln.

    Lincoln elected to Congress 1846
    Kennedy elected to Congress 1946

    Lincoln elected President 1860
    Kennedy elected President 1960

    Lincoln shot in Ford Theater.
Kennedy shot in a Lincoln, made by Ford.

There are more things than that, but I was always so fascinated by that and I know that drove my want to watch this movie.  I also wanted to watch it with Marc, since he loves anything to do with history..
We watched the movie and I thought it was really good.  I will say, the casting department was AWESOME in the actors they picked to represent the characters.  At the end of the movie, they showed the actors photo from the movie and a photo of the person they played.. It was amazing how similar they made them look! Great job by makeup and casting crew!  When the movie was over, I had to get Marc's opinion and he said he was very impressed by the acting and portrayal of the characters... and he was very pleased that they did not stray from the facts that had been presented.  He gets to frustrated when the movies take their own spin on things, so for him to be happy that they said everything that was true was a great bonus!!!
If you are a history buff, a fan of Robe Lowe or just like movies in general, you will enjoy this movie!
