Keep Reaching Those Milestones! Let @mybabycompass Help! #Giveaway

Image
I admit it, I love to read and more than that, I love to read things that can "help" me be a better mom to Broxton.  If you remember, Marc was deployed basically until Broxton was 13 months old.. During that time, I was "THAT" mom..  We were frequent visitors at the pediatrician.. I was determined that there was NO WAY I was going to have to get in touch with Marc in a war zone to tell him anything bad about Broxton.. and I was NOT going to be a bad mom.. I want to be the BEST mom... So, that means I had all sorts of books on babies... and Google and I were on a first name basis!!! I was always online looking to see things and make sure all was okay. I remember when we go all the time, they would ask if he was doing different things and that he was reaching the different milestones... Truth be told, I wasn't sure what I should be attempting to do with him, but luckily he was doing all the things they would ask... Now, Marc is home and we do not go nearly ...

Travelling Abroad?

I never had the chance to study abroad or anything like that when I was in school.. I did have the opportunity to travel to NYC (it was actually my first time on a plane) once, but that was about it.  I would have LOVED the chance to do something like that... You know, study abroad, do a "semester at sea" or anything like that... It would have been awesome... and you can not ignore the memories to be made. I received an email that I just thought would be nice to share with you... I don't really know much about the whole study abroad  (also, I see lots of mission trips going on right now with kids going to places around the world...) Hope this might help you out: I literally just copied and pasted this for you: _________________________________ Most Moms and Dads want to give their kids every opportunity, like youth travel or study abroad experiences with a program that can widen horizons. But are they aware that no federal or state laws protect their kids when they...

Tylenol - New Changes and Improvements Heading Our Way

Image
As a mom, I try and do anything and everything in my power to make sure to take care of Broxton as best as I can. I know when I was pregnant, I was so worried that I would not know what to do, or what was right. Sure, I had my ups and downs (still do!), but I call it learning! With that in mind, I knew that I would follow along my moms path and go with the name of familiarity. That being said, TYLENOL would be in our medicine cabinet. Not that I hoped to ever need it, but "just in case." I figure, if it was good enough for my mom to give to me... and Broxton's doctor to give to him.. Then it was the name we trusted to keep on hand! We have always depended and trusted in Tylenol. Did you know that they are rolling out new changes and improved Tylenol? They should be hitting the shelves as soon as this cold and flu season. I for one am very happy about this, as it has been hard for me to find a medicine with the same trust as Tylenol for us. Just what are the Tylenol Upd...

7 Common Mistakes First-Time Parents Make

I was emailed this article and with a friend of mine as a first time mom, I thought I would share it with all of you! 7 Common Mistakes First-Time Parents Make By Lisa Pecos Parenting is one of the hardest jobs you will ever have, and no stage is more difficult than the first few months with your first child. It is easy to be led astray by misguided assumptions and poorly thought-out plans, and it is practically impossible to completely avoid making any mistakes. Parenting is after all a learning process, but you can avoid some of the most common mistakes simply by being aware of them in advance. Here are seven of the most common issues that arise for first-time parents. 1. Not sleeping Everyone knows that new parents are commonly sleep deprived, but it does not have to be so bad. Especially if you and your spouse can find ways to share the load and balance your time, then you should be able to get close to your usual amount of sleep every day. Granted, the sleep ...
