I love how each #Lootcrate has a theme. #Dystopia review

I am telling you now, Loot Crate just keeps rolling out the goods! I love how they do a "theme" each month.  A past crate theme was "Dystopia" and although I had no clue what that meant, it was neat to see all the goodies that were packed in the box.  I will go ahead and tell you, the ROBOCOP shirt was my favorite this time around!  Awesome!

Another Lootcrate filled with cool products.  I thought that the matrix puzzle was going to be my favorite (just because puzzles are neat to me) but then I checked out the Robocop shirt and knew hands down, it took the favorite category this time.
While I am a stranger to pretty much the whole box, I did find it neat to see what all items they came up with:

Loot Crate Magazine - I  like this because it gives me more information on all of the goodies inside the box each month.
Robocop shirt - My favorite item this crate.
Terminator 2 Metal Print - I have noticed metal prints / signs making a huge comeback for decor. ESPECIALLY COLLEGE KIDS!!!
Matrix Puzzle - Will be working on this soon.
Fallout 4 Power Armor Dorbz - I see a huge collection of these figures going on right now too!
Bioshock Infinite Key Blank - Not a clue about Bioshock, but love that you can take it to get cut to whatever key you want.  I thought that was a nice touch!
Loot Pin - I love collecting these now!

You can't tell me that this shirt isn't just straight awesome!
Out of everything in this box, what would be your favorite?

Keep Lootcrate in mind - Christmas is getting closer and closer!

Do you send Lunch Notes? #PeppaPigPacks

Does your child take lunch to school or do they get lunch from the school?  We normally pack lunch for Broxton. Some days he likes to eat lunch there, so we look at the menu and decide.  (No lie, some days I don't feel like packing lunch, so its a big treat for him then too!) One thing I try to do when packing his lunch?  Send a note in there.  It can be something as simple as a smiley face, an I LOVE YOU message or whatever I think.  I did try being creative and drawing things for a bit... I don't do it daily, but I try and surprise him from time to time with them.
I know that he would not be thrilled to get Peppa Pig lunch notes, but I thought they were cute and if Savannah was a little older, I would totally send them for her.  I did want to share in case you had a Peppa Pig fan that you wanted to use these for.
Just click to enlarge, print and enjoy!

A few Peppa Pig activities to enjoy! #peppapigdvd

We LOVE Peppa Pig and her brother George in this house.  WHY??  (Said in my best George voice.) Well, it is because they are just so cute... and who doesn't like jumping in Muddy Puddles???  I was lucky enough to be sent a Peppa Pig package of goodies in celebration of the newest Peppa Pig DVD and we have been having a great time with it all.  (More about that later.)  Today, I wanted to share with you a few activities that you can print out to enjoy with your little ones.

Just click to enlarge, print and enjoy!  I know we will!
Just an FYI, I think I am going to print the alphabet sheet out, laminate them and make it a memory game too!   How fun would that be?

Sunny Vacation #PeppaPigDVD

Please tell me that you love Peppa Pig as much as we do!  I love the name of the kids on there.  You have Peppa Pig, Zoe Zebra, Emily Elephant, Suzy Sheep and so many others.  They are all so cute and as a side note, I see it showing kids that although we are ALL different, we can all get along and be friends!!!
Peppa Pig was just released on August 2nd for the Sunny Vacation DVD and we will probably need to buy a back up since I know it will get constant play. It is fine with me too, as the laugh and giggles are so contagious and I love seeing smiles on my kiddos!

The Jungle Book Extra's

I really enjoyed the Live Action Version of Disney's The Jungle Book.  That being said, I thought I would share a few extra things with you... Hope you enjoy!

Disney's Jungle Book is available now

You know there is a great movie out there when you start getting text messages from people recommending you go to the theaters to see it, right?  When The Jungle Book was released as a live action movie, I had several messages telling me that I needed to take Broxton.  We were not able to go to the theater to see it, so when I was given a chance to review it at home, I was happy to have that opportunity for the both of us.

Disney presents the live-action epic adventure The Jungle Book, directed by Jon Favreau (“Iron Man,” “Iron Man 2,” “Chef”) and produced by Favreau and Brigham Taylor (executive producer of “Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales,” “Tomorrowland”), “The Jungle Book” is a live-action epic adventure based on Rudyard Kipling’s timeless stories, inspired by Disney’s classic 1967 animated film and centered on Mowgli (Neel Sethi), a man-cub who’s been raised by a family of wolves. But Mowgli finds he is no longer welcome in the jungle when fearsome tiger Shere Khan (voice of Idris Elba), who bears the scars of Man, promises to eliminate what he sees as a threat.

The all-star cast includes Bill Murray (“Lost in Translation”) as the voice of Baloo, Sir Ben Kingsley (“Learning to Drive,” “The Walk”) as Bagheera and Lupita Nyong’o (“12 Years a Slave,” “Star Wars: The Force Awakens”) as the voice of mother wolf Raksha. Scarlett Johansson (“Avengers: Age of Ultron”) gives life to Kaa, Giancarlo Esposito (“Breaking Bad”) provides the voice of alpha-male wolf Akela, Idris Elba (“Beast of No Nation”) roars as the voice of Shere Khan, and Christopher Walken (“The Deer Hunter”) lends his iconic voice to King Louie.

Once the movie arrived, we were both so excited to see it.  We made plans to have a movie night, but life got in the way and movie night turned to movie day.  Hey, we can make the most out of it!
Broxton and I started watching it and I was surprised to see that Savannah took an interest in it as well. Top it all off, Marc walked by and saw what we were watching... next thing you know, he joined in and had to watch it with us too!  I loved it.  I thought they did a great job of it and I know that we will be watching it again soon!

Have you seen the newest version yet?  While we don't normally watch the "bonus" features, we plan to with this one... it is just too neat.  I wanted to share two clips with you... Enjoy!

Take a look at what @FatBrainToys has to offer!

Hopefully you read my post yesterday introducing you to Fat Brain Toys. If not, head on over to my last post and check it out. You will love them, I am sure of it!  Today, I want to introduce you to a few of the toys that Fat Brain Toys created.  We love them and I bet you if you order them, you will love them too!
FTC Compliant Review Policy:  The product(s) featured in this review were provided free of cost to me by the manufacturer or representing PR agency for the sole purpose of product testing. Opinions expressed are my own and are NOT influenced by monetary compensation.

As I said before, Fat Brain Toys has toys for all ages and they sell all major brands.  What makes them stand out even more is that they sell toys that they create themselves too.  We were sent a few to check out and I want to tell you about them now.

Up first:  Swingy Thing

Seriously, that is what it is called.  No need to worry on the confusion about that one. Your kid goes to a friends house that has it.  They come home and tell you they want "the swingy thing" to play with.  You have NO CLUE what it is.  Instead of calling to ask the parents what it is, you just you tube swingy thing toy and BOOM.  You see it, are intrigued as to if you can master all 52 challenges.  What do you do?  You order it for only $14.99 and start trying it out for yourself.
Swingy Thing
  • Thrilling game of spinning flippers and dippers
  • Encourages hand-eye coordination, focus
  • A great tool for stress relief
  • Helps build fine motor skills, improves concentration
  • Features 52 challenges to work through
  • Try adding "Slam" to challenges - Spin dippers and flippers in opposite directions
  • Includes Swingy Thing, metal display stand
  • Detailed sheet of tips and challenges included
  • Flippers and dippers made of high quality wood
  • Handles made of metal
  • I have this sitting on our kitchen table.  Perfect to play while we wait for dinner. In between homework.  Just walking by and want to grab it to play a minute? Why not.  It is awesome. Swingy Thing is a wooden game that is on a metal pole / stick type thing (for the handles.) The handles then rest in the metal holding tray, so it is perfect to just have sitting out. I think it would be a great thing to have in a waiting room, but sad to say in the world we live in today, I see to many people getting sticky fingers with them and taking it home.   I could see it being a great conversation starter, so maybe a great thing to have in a commons area for college.  I am telling you, it is for all ages.  My mom used to have brain games like this in her office, so I am going to suggest this to her!  As you can see on my Instagram page, little boys (7 year old) up to bigger boys (age 20) enjoy trying it out. I enjoyed it (age 37) and I am sure my parents will give it a try when they come visit.  (I don't have permission to share their ages!)
The only thing I wish was different?  The sheet that has the challenges on it... I wish there was a way to laminate it, make it like a little book or something.  I love having it with the set and easily accessible, but I know it will eventually start to fall apart with the opening and closing of it all the time.

The next toy we were sent: Oombee Cube
This is perfect for Savannah.  (age 1)  It is a little box that allows her to sort shapes, but the best part? The shapes are connected with a little cord, so no need to worry about having to keep up with the different parts.  This is great to have as a travel toy, or even one to have at each grandparents house! For only $16.95, they are great to buy a few to have on hand.
    OombeeCube
  • Shape-sorting cube with 6 rubbery shapes tethered to its corners
  • Encourages fine motor skills, sensory learning, tactile exploration, visual-spatial skills
  • An innovative approach to classic shape-sorting fun
  • Shapes are rubbery, textured, squishy - Made of 100% food-grade, BPA-free silicone - Great for teething!
  • Shapes each slide smoothly and snugly into their respective slots
  • Shapes are tethered to each corner with extra thick, strong, and secure string - Never lose a single shape!
  • Strings are short enough to be exceptionally safe, long enough for little hands to grab and explore freely
  • Shapes include triangle, square, oval, circle, pentagon, double circle
  • High quality design and materials, built for lasting durability and safety

  • As I said, we have enjoyed this.  With the shapes connected (strings are not that long) we don't have to worry about losing pieces.  It is small enough that we can throw it in the diaper bag to take out to eat or in the car.  It is large enough that we don't lose it on car trips and spend the time searching in the car for it.
I love that it is made of a hard rubber type material, so she can chew on it without it harming her (hello teething stage...AGAIN) and if its dropped it wont break or crack.
Another plus?  We get to work on colors and shapes.
Ready for the negative?  I have 1 major one.  I had to go back and look up what one shape was!  I guess I need to brush up. I totally forgot what the 5 sided shape was called (*pentagon. I know now!) The only other thing is a catch 22.  I ABSOLUTELY LOVE that they used fun bright colors , as so many toys are in the classic "red, orange, yellow, green, blue and purple" colors.   At the same time, I wish they did use the basic ones, so we could work on teaching them with her.   Maybe they could make both?  Or maybe, just maybe, I could just teach her the classic colors and let her broaden her knowledge and have fun learning that there are more shades out there than just the plain ones!

The final toy we were sent: AnimaLogic.
This really looks like an awesome game and one that will be played for many years by all of our children.

Now, we have not played this one yet.  I wanted to put it up and give it to him as a Christmas gift. I say " I WANTED TO"  This will not be the case.  They have a school break coming up soon. I think it is fall break or something. I will be surprising him with this game to start the break off with.  We love games here and nothing is sweeter than having game day / game night with him and seeing the smile on his face.
Granted, he LOVES his Ipad, Netflix and TV.. but when we get to read a book or play games together, he is happiest than any other time.  I know that the times of him wanting to spend with me will get shorter the older he gets, so I will enjoy every minute of them now while I still can.
Stay tuned to Instagram to see when this game gets started!

    AnimaLogic
  • Marvelously high quality, educational game
  • Captures interest of a wide range of ages and abilities
  • Encourages object recognition, sequencing, matching abilities, logic

  • I know that Fat Brain Toys has so much to offer and will be a great source for Christmas  and Birthday gifts now that I am familiar with them. Head on over to check them out.

    One more bonus:

If you head over to the order page, you can read even more about the toy you are looking at. They include Age and Gender Usage.  Product Specs. Product Reviews and even Facebook Comments.

If anyone is just DYING to send me a gift card to Fat Brain Toys, let me know. They have several items on the Invented Here link that I would love to have in our house!
Look at : Coggy, Vroom Blox, HexHive,  Pop & Slide Shelly, Woo and that is just to get started on what all I would love to have!

A blog friend of mine, Alissa has mentioned them before and I am telling you, just head over to their site and you will instantly fall in love.  She was lucky enough to win a gift card to them and let me be the first to say... If I had a gift card there, I could totally do some damage.  The whole site is just super cool to me!!!

I was lucky enough to have a chance to review a couple of the items that Fat Brain Toys creates. Before I share my review with you, I want to tell you a couple things that stand out to me about this company.

Up first:  They have the single largest selection of American Made Toys.
    (LOVE THAT!)

Next - They have two retail stores - Omaha and Overland Park.  Other than that, it is all online.  Let me just tell you, I want to plan a vacation just to go to one of the stores.  I seem to fall into KID MODE as soon as I get around tons of fun toys / games that you can touch and feel. Yes, that makes me buy more, but come on... it is FUN!!!!

The final thing, it just might be my favorite that I learned about them too, is they not only sell toys, they create them too!

I hope that they don't mind, but I want to share just a little of the email from them that made me completely fall in love with them:

So we’re a really small company in Nebraska, with two brick and mortar stores, one warehouse, and the “corporate” office.  On the retail side, we search and carry toys from all sorts of American and international companies that aren’t carried by big box stores and the big toy companies.  Many of these are small production specialty toys and educational toys.  We also partner with other smaller companies for new toy launches and giveaways that will hopefully create more visibility in this Big Box Store world.  On the toy creation side, we try to bring out maybe seven new toys and games over the course of a year.  Our toys have won awards from ASTRA (specialty toys) and Toy Awards, as well as being finalists for the TOTY Awards (the BIG one!) almost every year for design.

Go ahead.  Read that portion of the email once more.  I will wait.  Now, tell me that you don't just fall in love with them now!!!!!!!

Now, they do carry names and brands that we all come to know and love such as Fisher Price, K'Nex, Melissa & Doug, Lego and more...   BUT - they are so much more than that!

I love that you can search and shop a number of different ways:

1- search by age (They even have babies, teens, adults and seniors as options!)
    2 - search by gender
3 - search by brand (MAKE SURE TO CLICK ON FAT BRAIN TOYS!)
4 - search by BEST SELLER
5 - search by new releases
    6 - search AMERICAN MADE

Now that I have completely overloaded your brain with wonderful information. I will leave you to go spend the day on the Fat Brain Toys website. Come back tomorrow to see my reviews!

Make sure you LIKE Fat Brain Toys on Facebook. So much fun happening over there!
