A blogger friend of mine sings praises about probiotics and to be honest with you, I have heard of them... but have never used them.  Until now... Let me clarify that though.  I have yet to use them for me (I know I need to and that is on my to do list, but I have been giving them to Savannah.)  I read online it was great to give it to them even more so after they were on antibiotics to try and help with adding the good bacteria back. I have yet to notice any difference, but then again, we are just now getting started with using them.
I wanted to share that Mommy Bliss has released BABY PROBIOTIC DROPS. (I thought this was very informative to read about probiotics and c-section babies.)  We use several of their products.... if you are not familiar with Gripe Water, you might want to get some and keep it on hand if you have a little one.

This product is pediatrician-recommended, 100% vegan and vegetarian, and quickly becoming a favorite amongst health-conscious parents. Formulated with non-GMO Corn Oil and the live culture Lactobacillus Rhamnosus GG, this new product safely and effectively eases babies’ digestion.

Probiotics are living microorganisms that scientific research has shown to benefit human health. Most commonly these are bacteria, but they may also be yeasts. In some cases they are similar to, or the same as, the microbes already found in a healthy digestive tract. Many probiotics were originally isolated from common fermented foods such as yogurt. Mommy’s Bliss Baby Probiotic Drops contain the live culture Lactobacilus rhamnosus GG, the most widely studied probiotic in the world with over 800 scientific publications attesting to the safety and healthfulness of these beneficial bacteria. Like all dietary supplements you should discuss the use of probiotics with your baby’s doctor.

I know several people are having babies in the next month or two.  Make sure you head over to see what all Mommys Bliss has to offer.  Make them a gift basket to have on hand when they need it most!!!   Also, keep in mind when a baby is crying and no one can seem to get them to stop, mama would do almost anything...  Gripe Water and Probiotics would be a welcome stocking stuffer for mama to get a break!

I work hard at making sure my loved ones get just the right gift for Christmas.  Yes, I know it is NOT about the gift, but I love seeing their face when they open up the gift I got them.  It is most exciting to see the joy on my sons face, as it is all still so magical to him. (and now we get to see the magic all over again with our daughter.)  Well, this year, I have a bit of a dilemma.  I was sent an AWESOME  DARTH VADER gel ink pen from Cross. As soon as I was told about it, I knew it was going to be a gift - to me, from me!  It arrived and I was impressed.  (I am a new Star Wars fan, I will admit that, but I know of all the characters from my husband and son!)    I sat it over on the bookshelf, as I was going to use it to address all of my Christmas cards.
As soon as a certain 6 year old came home and saw it, he was so excited!
"Mom!!!!  Thank you so much, I LOVE my pen!!!"  Except, the pen is STILL not for him!
The Darth Vader gel pen arrives in a nice box with the Star Wars logo on it too.

The series features some of the most iconic Star Wars characters, C-3PO, Darth Vader, and Stormtroopers. The Star Wars limited edition collection from the Townsend line is limited to 1977 units per character and features impeccable character details etched into the finish, enhancing its collectability and authenticity (MSRP, $450-$575).  The Click Star Wars Gel Ink Pen Collection symbolizes the dynamic spirit of each character and is the ideal pen for your everyday writing needs (MSRP, $45).  Last but not least, and designed to complement your Star Wars writing instrument, the Star Wars journal collection from the Jot Zone line is the perfect blank slate on which to journal your favorite Star Wars scene (MSRP, $40)Available this Fall, all are designed with CROSS timeless flair to suit the fancy of fans across the Star Wars universe.  The series can be purchased online at www.cross.com and at select retailers. Access the online store locator for more details.
STAR WARS and related properties are trademarks and/or copyrights, in the United States and other countries, of Lucasfilm Ltd. and/or its affiliates. © & TM Lucasfilm Ltd

I tried to get a front and back shot for you to see all of the detail they put on it.
On the front, you have VADER with the Darth Vader mask on the clip.  On the back, you have the Star Wars logo and the cross logo.

I was very pleased with the writing.  The gel pen gives it a nice smooth flow about it.  I did not notice any area's where it skipped or anything like that. (Like I have noticed with other pens.) I am sorry kiddo, but this pen is mamas!!!! Yeah, I had to break the news to him.  It was not a gift for him, but rather a treat for me.  I will share with him from time to time, but this is one I will be holding on to tightly!!!
If you know a Star Wars fan, you will want to look at the Star Wars Collection at Cross.  They have Darth Vader, C-3P0 and of course, the Storm Trooper.  Head on over to check it out!!!

As if it being Star Wars isn't enough...
Read this:

Combat Crew from @KNEX #giftguide

We were recently sent the K'Nex Combat Crew 5 in 1 Building Set for review.  Let's just go ahead and get this out of the way... It says for ages 7+, but this 30 something year old mama was struggling.  That isn't saying a lot, since I know my eyes aren't as good as they used to be and my hands are much bigger than a 7 year old, but whoa nelly... that was some work!

We decided that since Broxton had been doing SO WELL in school, we would allow his elf to give it to him.  It was great as it was supposed to be a daddy and son event.  Yeah, that quickly ended when the patience of daddy went flying out the window and mommy had to step in.  Broxton was getting frustrated, as we were both trying to do the same thing, but he did "help" for me to just go at it solo.
I feel like it took 7 million years.  *Maybe that was what the 7+ was for... the number of years it takes.. not the age of the child?  I will never know!  We finally got it completed, but leave it to mama (I blame the elf for not paying better attention!)  No batteries.  That gave me the chance to say " don't play with it until tomorrow when I go and get some batteries for it."  We did that several days ago, but batteries have yet to be purchased. This mama is struggling this year!
Anyways, it is built. It is AWESOME.
He loves it.  We made memories doing it.  I say it was a success!
The Combat Crew has 5 different models you can choose to build.  We decided to go with the helicopter first.  I tell you this, it is MASSIVE.  This is NOT some little rinky dinky helicopter.  It is the real deal and to be honest with you, I think my dad would have loved to have built this with him!  (Maybe they can do another model, once I decide to let him take this one apart.)  I was surprised he did not want to do the tank, although I do believe that the tank will be the next one we attempt to build.  I love that it comes with a little figure as well!  Perfect for playing right away!
This is what the "helicopter" started out like.  After much work, we ended up with this:
See?  We are getting there.  Slow and steady wins the race, right?
Oh yeah!!!! We are DONE!!!!  I love it.  They made it have several different key features that makes it perfect for any combat zone they may be headed into!  *See the missiles on the front bottom of the photo?

Read more about it here:

Remember when I told you how we had a horrible end of October, all of November, start of December?  Yeah, well Broxton normally doesn't get a fever... Sometimes it is around 99, but that is about as high as it gets.. when it was up as high as it was, I was FREAKING out... Yes, with all of us being sick off and on, we basically had at least one person at the doctor each week.  I know that fevers are fighting infection, but when it gets that high and won't go down, you want to do anything and everything... those high temperatures were SCARY!!!! The doctor said to just watch him, but lets be real... Your "baby" is sick, (even if they are 6, they are still your baby!) and you want to do ANYTHING to make the pain and discomfort go away.  Well, had I thought about it, I would have purchased be koool to have on hand.
be koool are NON MEDICATED gel sheets that are used for cooling and dealing with fever discomfort.

Although I do not plan on any of us being sick any time soon, I am lucky enough to have be koool sheets on hand now and one lucky winner is about to win a prize pack from be koool to make sure you are prepared as well!  Perfect to have on hand (it can go in a purse or travel bag with no worries of leakage!)  This would be great to pack for any holiday travels.  No, we don't want anyone to be sick... but we always need to be prepared.  Another thing?  Since this is NON-MEDICATED, you don't have to worry about over medicating!   This would be great to leave in the medicine cabinet at the grandparents house too!  Kids will love them, as they have Disney characters on them!
Prize Pack that one winner will win!

One lucky reader is about to win a prize pack from be koool.
Included : be koool gel sheets, a few books and even a Kinsa Smart Thermometer.

My experience seeing #StarWars The Force Awakens - #NOSPOILERS

Let me tell you what happened here!!!
I was invited to go to an advance screening of Star Wars : The Force Awakens and of course I said yes.  I do need to admit something first.  I was never really a Star Wars fan.  I know who the characters are because my husband and my son are HUGE FANS.  So, when I was invited I decided that I might need to watch the others so that I knew what was going on.  There was a debate over the order to watch.  4,5, 6 and then 1, 2, 3.... or just 1,2,3,4,5 and then 6.  We decided that I would start with 4 and go... I never got around to 1,2 and 3.  (I was told that it wasn't that big of a deal to miss those before seeing number 7.  What do you think?)
Anyways---
I was so excited to go see it, HELLO... it was before anyone else, I could not pass it up!  We got there and after a big security check (no phones, nothing with bluetooth) we went in to see the movie!
It was AMAZING... and then BOOM- the Power Went out.  We sat there for what felt like ages, no phone meant I had no watch!  Someone said it was around an hour... then it came back on.  All of us were immediately sucked back into it and then BOOM-  AGAIN with the outage. It wasn't out as long this time, but still ...  ugh... The movie starts again and we are all stoked to see it. (Mind you, this is a theater with media personnel, bloggers, movie critics and more)   BOOM-  OUT.  This time there were words yelled that I can not write on here. People were livid.  It gets better... we were told there was only 3 minutes left in the movie...
AND THEN WE NEVER EVEN GOT TO SEE IT!
Yes, that is right.  I was one of the first to get to see it and I did not get to see how it ended!
Now, let me tell you this...
It was NOT the theaters fault.  It was completely due to Georgia Power. (Needless to say that they are on a bunch of lists this year, if you catch my drift!)
On to the "review" of the movie...
I will NOT be giving any spoilers, so don't you worry.
That being said, I really feel as though I will have a hard time telling you about it, as each scene in the movie is absolutely amazing and I feel as though you MUST see each part.  You need to get there early and get your drink and snacks, go to the bathroom... whatever you need to do.  As soon as the movie starts, you are immediately sucked in.  It is filled with scenes that make you laugh, make you tear up.  It has love, it has action... It has a bit of it all and again... AMAZING!!!   I think that original Star Wars fans will be happy with this one and I know that this will have many new fans!  How do I know that?  Well, it is because I am one!!!   It was great seeing some of the original characters (perfect for old and new fans) but I loved that they introduced a whole new group for everyone to love and hate.  For me?  I am a huge fan of Rey.

I guess having a daughter has opened my eyes up to more of the role of females in movies these days. As a female, I should have noticed more myself, but now I seem to pay more attention.  Rey has the attitude and drive that many will enjoy.  I will go so far as to say that Rey is my favorite character. There is something about her and I am sure that I am not alone in this decision!
Another thing about this movie?  The action. Having a 6 year old son, I know he is going to love all of the action scenes.  (I am thinking we might need to see this in 3D at some point.)  I also noticed that in this movie there seemed to be so many parts that I literally laughed out loud at.  I don't remember that much in the originals, but I also feel as though I was watching the originals to be prepared.  (Note, I do not think you have to be a die hard and pass any quizzes to enjoy this one.  I personally feel that even if you have not watched them, or if it has been ages, you will still enjoy this one.)  I know that this really doesn't tell you anything about the movie, but I feel as though you need to see it to experience it.  I don't want to ruin a single thing!!!!
Okay, so what am I saying?
This movie is AWESOME!  Perfect for date night, family movie night or just solo.  I know with the original movie you have people that remember seeing it in the theater and it being a key part of their childhood...  I totally see this being the same for the younger generation now!

Do you have your tickets yet?  Are you planning to go?  Give me your thoughts!

Boo's Beard is a great book to try and explain to children that everyone is different, but all want to be loved and included.  This book is perfect for children to somewhat start to try and explain autism a bit and to show that there are children out there like them. Maybe they have never met a child on the autism spectrum, or maybe they are on the spectrum and want to know they are not alone. Either way, this is a great book.
Tom is a little boy that has a hard time understanding facial expressions.  He enjoys going to the park with his dog, Boo, but wishes he was included in playing with the other children.   One day, a little girl comes over to see his dog and starts making facial expressions with the dogs beard. After that, she invites Tom (and Boo) to come and play with them sometime.  I love the little girl in there, it shows how sweet children really can be!!!!
This would be great for your personal library to show that there are all types of children out there.  It would also be a great gift for your local library!!!

If you have a fan of Sofia the First, I have a couple books that will be much appreciated under the tree this year!!! Up first is a Christmas themed book, Sofia's first Christmas.  In this book, Sofia gets to spend Christmas with her friend Vivian.  They have a great time together, I loved the book, and the message : the best gift of all is spending time with those you love!  The other book that would be great to give is Let the Good Times Troll.  In this book, we get to meet the trolls that have been banished to live under the castle.  Of course, Sofia finds out what really happened and sets out to make things right.  Find out what ends up happening to make this a great story too!
Age 3-5
Sofia loves the holiday season of Wassailia, but this year, she gets to celebrate Christmas for the first time ever! She can’t wait to visit her good friend, Vivian, see a foreign kingdom, and experience all of the wonderful traditions of Christmas. But during her visit, two friendly sprites ask Sofia to help them find their lost friend. Can Sofia help? This beautiful storybook with full-color illustrations will be a treasured collectible and gift for any Disney Junior fan!

Age 3-5
After Sofia befriends the cute, friendly trolls who live in a cave near the castle, it’s up to her to show King Roland and her family that they shouldn’t judge or fear the trolls without getting to know them first. Read and watch-along with Sofia with this illustrated storybook that includes a DVD of the Sofia the First episode, “Let the Good Times Troll!”

Around here, it is almost time for Winter Break.  I can not say it is almost time for winter, as it sure doesn't feel like it. Yesterday we were enjoying temperatures in the 70's,.. doesn't feel that "wintery" yet around here.  With the colder temperatures (hopefully) on the way and school almost out for a few weeks, we will be looking for something fun and exciting to do INDOORS if it gets too bad outside.  I was excited when a package arrived with a cute selection of board books. They will be perfect for Savannah as she gets older and it will be cute to get Broxton moving this holiday season!

Up first, Santa Shimmy.
You get to Shake it fast.  Shake it slow.  March March March with a HO HO HO!!!!
Cute illustrations inside.  Love the little girl shimmying along with Santa.
Then we have the Snowman Shuffle.
In this one, you get to spin like a snowflake in a winter storm.
I love that we have a series of books, but the same characters are not in each one. Diversity is great!
Next, get ready to boogie with the elf!!!
You can also wrap some presents.  Put on a show!!
Look at all the movement in each book!
(None of the moves are the same!)

To round out the Christmas characters, we get to dance with the reindeer!
Put your hands on your head make antlers up on top.
Out of all of the books, Savannah seemed to enjoy the Elf Boogie the most.  As I said, the older she gets, the more we will get to enjoy them.  I love that they are board books and that they have such cute illustrations!
Make sure you add them to your holiday traditions soon!!!
(It would be cute to see the grandparents doing all the fun things with their grandchildren. This would also make a great gift idea for any preschool teachers!)
