A couple of weeks ago, we were invited to the grand opening of the newest Build - A - Bear Workshop at the Mall of Georgia.  I went years ago, but Broxton had never been before.... So I was so excited to give him the opportunity.
I tell you, it was crazy!!!
We got there about 9:50 (the store opened at 10 am)  and there was already a line.  It was pretty cool though, they had a school group that was there beforehand making bears to give to other kids...   So, I waited out front with everyone else as we prepared for the ribbon cutting ceremony.    The BABW mascot, Beary, came out to greet everyone and then the festivities were underway!!!
Beary meeting everyone there for the ribbon cutting ceremony.
Once you get inside the store, you look at all the different options of animals to choose between.  They are all displayed on the wall with the animal in the basket for you to pick for making...
After the CHOOSE ME station where you pick your animal to make, you then head to the LOVE ME station where you prepare the heart for your animal.
One of the new interactive stations.
Preparing the heart to go into the bear he chose.
It was so neat, you place the heart on the screen. It was like a large touch screen tablet, then, you moved over the different qualities that you want your new friend to have.  You could pick several different qualities... and you guessed it, Broxton picked them all .
At Build A Bear, you can even add a voice box to specialize your animal .  Broxton went  with one that  was a little boy saying 6 different phrases.  You could pick one that said things, or even one that would play music!
Up next was time to stuff it!
Before they add the heart to the animal, you have to rub it on your muscles for strength and even give it a kiss for love!
Adding the heart, the voice box and the scent disc.
Make sure to come back tomorrow to learn more about our great day!!!!

Life has been pretty busy lately..
Between life in general and Broxton finishing up his first year of schoool...
Oh, and did I mention that my brother grabbed this little ol' thing called a "MASTERS DEGREE?!"
Well, between all of that...
We were sent a new DVD for Broxton to watch.
I try to let him come home and unwind from school with a little down time and what better way than Team UmiZoomi?  I love the UmiZoomi's as they teach ... not just entertain!!!!  Broxton loves watching them too and asks for them over and over again.
I remember growing up and hating some of my classes, I would always think "what do I need to learn this for?  I will never use it... "  and that was mostly for science and math...  Luckily with the UmiZoomi's they teach math with everyday lessons, so he is learning while being entertained...

If you were here yesterday, you know that we had a great time at the Build a Bear Workshop grand opening the other day.
Bathing the bear after he was completed.
You could pick out whatever outfit you wanted to  ( price varied depending upon the outfit chosen)  I thought for sure that Broxton would want the CAPTAIN AMERICA one, but he decided to go with an ARMY one like his daddy.
In the dressing station.
So, after you make your special friend... You just have a few more things to do before you are ready to take it home.
Broxton and his new friend, Derry.
Then you head over to the X-Ray station. (Not sure what it is called, but it was  like a n X-Ray area...  You could see what all you placed in your friend.)
Before you leave, you get a birth certificate with a photo of your  new friend.   It even has their date of birth on it like a real birth certificate!

We had such a blast there!!!  It was such a great experience for Broxton.  For me, I loved watching him get to pick the different characteristics that he wanted to add to make his friend special for him.  For Broxton, his favorite part was bathing his bear.  (It really was neat, you lay your friend on a different touch screen tablet and then the bubbles start... They even have a bar of soap, scrub brushes, and even boats for the kids to "play" with their friend while they bathe him.)  I know that the little kids will love being able to make their own special friend, but also older kids will love making it too, since they can pick all the different things (from  the voice box to the scent to the characteristics to the clothing... )  We had such a great time and it was so fun seeing the smile on Broxton's face.  I absolutely loved the staff too!  They took time to talk to the kids, they were friendly and although they were super busy, they seemed to take time with each person individually!

Make sure to visit a Build A Bear near you!!!!

Broxton loves the candy, Ring Pop.  His teacher gave him one as his treat for learning his Bible Verse once and he was so excited over it... It amazes me the smile on his face with this treat!  Well, we recently learned that Ring Pop has expanded for a greater reach....
Now, they offer MY RING POP.  A site where you can personalize/customize the ring pop to have a wrapper say something special just for the occasion.  You could have it say :"Great Job!" with the teachers name... or maybe "Thanks for celebrating" and give them as favors for a party... On their site, they showed brides to be using this to ask their friends to be bridesmaids...
With the My Ring Pop site, you can order from 25-500 in flavors such as Strawberry, Cherry, Blue Raspberry and Watermelon.
See?  They do cover it for all types of events....

With a face like this... Don't you think it says "HAPPY!"

Are you Ring Pop Fans?

(Not sure how long it will be up, so take advantage of it while you can!)
My thoughts:
I immediately wanted to try the crack creme.  I was sent the oil bottle.  I was hesitant to try it out, since I was thinking "creme" but I went for it.  I just put it on my feet (I have BAD dry feet...) and went to bed... I did not notice any odor, so that was a plus for me...  I will say, I would like to try this again... but I would want to try the creamy formula.
As for the Heat and Freeze...   I have not had to use these yet... I plan on giving one to my mom, as she would be more apt to use it at this point...   I will see which one she wants and then keep the other for Marc.  With his working on the railroad and for the ARMY, his muscles and joints do tend to ache.
I did open to see about the smell.  The freeze has a slight scent of menthol...  ( I expected that)  and the heat also has a scent.  I am not really sure what it is though.  Neither were bothersome to me and I would bet that the scent on both would vanish rather fast.

If you are one that has aches and pains... I would totally recommend giving Zim's a try.
The reason I say that:  Zim's is made of "naturally based products"  and it was started over 60 years ago.  If it did not work, I do not think it would be around 60 years later...   Companies with long history like that seems to be few these days.

Let me start by saying that I am not the best one when it comes to packing... I always OVER pack.  I would hate to need something and not have it... I have ALWAYS been that way.  Whenever I go with Broxton, once again... over pack.  Luckily for us, we have not had to go anywhere that we would have to worry about baggage fees... because I would totally be screwed.  (It doesn't help that Marc showed me how to pack where you get MORE in the suitcase... )
Well...  if and when we ever go somewhere that baggage fees might be an issue...
I AM READY!!!
We were sent the Precision Voyager Luggage Scale from Eat Smart.
I was rather impressed with the size.  It is fairly small... but it can weigh bags up to 110 pounds!!!
It is really easy to use too...  You see the clip?
Well, you use that little area to hook your bag that you are weighing...   It is awesome that it is so versatile, as we literally weighed all sorts of bags to see how it worked.
You just hit the on button  ... then choose if you want it to weigh in pounds or kilograms...
Then, you see it weighing..   it beeps to let you know the weight was recorded (I did not hear it on ours, as Marc has the radio going like we are party animals...)  but it did show HOLD and then it did not change the weight.  I like that it is compact enough that you can just throw it in the bag (or your purse) to weigh your luggage for the return trip!  (We all know some people can go shopping crazy!)
If you travel often... or if you are planning a special trip...
This luggage scale would be awesome to pack with a pair of tickets for a great gift!

Koala Kid

Journey down under and meet a whole new breed of hero in this laugh-filled, action-packed animated adventure with an all-star voice cast, including Rob Schneider, Tim Curry and Alan Cumming. Johnny (Schneider) is a rare white koala bear who just wants to fit in and make friends. But when a twist of fate mistakenly transforms him into a fearless protector of animals, called “Koala Kid,” Johnny finds himself in over his head on a thrilling trek across the outback. With help from his hilarious new sidekicks, including a crafty Tasmanian devil, a lovable lizard and a boomerang-flinging female koala, Johnny may just outwit a villainous crocodile named Bog (Cumming) and become a true hero after all.

I put this on the other day for Broxton to enjoy... It has been raining off and on here for what seems like forever lately and I though that this would be a great rainy day treat... I had every intention on watching with him, but I was caught up doing other things... I did look over at one point and Marc was totally enthralled in it with him.  When it was over, I asked Marc what he thought.... Now, he is a man of very few words... so "I thought it was cute.  I loved the accents."  I tried to figure out the basis of the movie and he said that he took it as the koala kid was trying to find who he was... a bit of self discovery of sorts...   Broxton wanted to watch it again and again... as in we played it on the way to my brothers graduation the other day...   and again on the way back...   When I asked Broxton what he liked about it, his response was a bit more " I love it!  I love the carnival.  There are bad guys there and I just love the carnival!"
It seemed to entertain my 4 year old... (and his daddy too) so it is a winner in our house!!!
