Indestructibles - Review

Whenever Broxton "reads" a book...
He really "Reads" it!
:)
He tries to eat it... ( is he a billy goat?!)
and he reads it so hard/"fast" that the pages tend to rip!
So, for most of the books, they are put up and he can "read" them with mommy or daddy.
The only books he is allowed to "read" on his own are the chunky board books that we pick up here and there in the dollar sections of the stores.

Well, now he has added another one to his available library!
Amy has solved that problem!
When she had triplets, she realized the problems with the books currently on the market and she wanted to make a safe book for her little ones. Heck, with 3 of them... She already had her hands full as it was without having to add that worry to the list! :)
So, with the help of Karen... They came up with a great idea!!!

Indestructibles was born!!!
These books are made out of a material that can be chewed, crumpled, wet... NOT RIPPED!
I am not sure what it is actually made out of.... But Broxton has not manages to ruin it while reading!!! (and we have been "reading" it for over a week now!)

This book is so cute too!
It is basically a cartoon book that is set to a nursery rhyme.
We received Humpty Dumpty.
The rhyme is posted on the back of the book...
therefore, adding more interaction with parent and baby.
The parent tells the rhyme while the baby "reads" the book!!!!

Click on over here to see why Indestructibles are made specifically for babies.
There are currently 9 titles available... with more on the way!!!
Pick up an Indestructible book to add to your library today!

A big THANK YOU to Amy for allowing us to review an Indestructible Humpty Dumpty!

Aloha Friday - 49

Get ready for the weekend!
Wind down!
Relax!
Aloha my friends!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My Aloha Question this week:

Welcome to this week’s edition of Aloha Friday. In Hawaii, Aloha Friday is the day that we take it easy and look forward to the weekend. So I thought that on Fridays I would take it easy on posting, too.

Therefore, I’ll ask a simple question for you to answer. Nothing that requires a lengthy response. If you’d like to participate, just post your own question on your blog and leave your link below. Don’t forget to visit the other participants! It’s a great way to make new bloggy friends

What is the longest road trip you have been on?

My answer:

I once did a trip from Georgia to Ohio...

But, once I went from Dallas to San Antonio...
(and it felt like it took 87 days... )

:) I would love love LOVE to do a road trip with the boys where we travel the USA for the summer...
Maybe one day!

Scandle - WHOA

I love it!
I love how they are called "SCANDLE!"
Everything about it makes me love it even more!
HA!
It is just the best!
Have you been "Scandle"ous lately?
Maybe you need to!!!!

Do you even know what I am talking about?
Scandle is a massage oil candle!
You know how relaxing this is?!

We just reviewed the Scandle Travel Candle and Marc and I both really enjoyed it!
The scent is a very nice and relaxing fragrance, nothing overbearing.

This would be perfect for a weekend get away!
It comes packaged in a cute little tin and then you light the candle.
It even has a wrist band that you can remove and wear, reminding you to "Reduce, Reuse, Recycle!"
Let the soft fragrance relax you as you wind down...
Then, you just pour a bit of the oil onto your loved one and massage it into them!

The oil is not to hot... and as weird as it sounds, not very oily!
Marc and I tried to figure out a way to describe it...
We think the only way to describe it is to say it felt as though it was warm silk being poured out!

This would be a great gift for you to give your loved one for an anniversary gift...
OR an engagement gift for a sweet couple you know!

Please stop on by and see what all Scandle has to offer!

Best Fairy Books - What did I do?!

I think I messed up my posting on a great kids book I was able to review...
They are "Best Fairy Books" from the author, Bobbie Hinman.
Please check out my post, here.

It includes a review as well as a giveaway!
I love these books and I hope you will enjoy the review!
Sorry for the mixup!
Once again, check it out HERE.
THANKS!

CSN- We got it!

Remember my previous CSN post, when I asked you what I should get?
Well...
After much discussion and thinking it over...
We went with the WOODEN WORK PLAY BENCH.

As is everything with CSN it came carefully packaged.
It was securely packaged inside a shipping box, so we opened it and then Marc and Broxton got to putting it together.
It called for a screwdriver to assemble, and Marc was very pleased to see that they even include a screwdriver in the kit!
Broxton was big boy and wanted to help daddy put it together...

They worked on it for a few minutes, getting everything just right...

And then it was PLAY TIME!!!!
Broxton loves it...
We actually have it in the area by our computer where he can play...
Fun times!
I really recommend this Wooden Work Bench from CSN stores to anyone with a little boy!
Easy to assemble and hours of entertainment!!!!

Kid-Hip, have you heard?! UPDATED

Did not realize labor day weekend was when my giveaways were set to end...
So, this has been extended!!!
Will end on September 7th!

A friend of mine recently had a baby and she called to ask me if I had heard of the CD, Kid Hip.
I told her no, that I had no clue what she was talking about...
So, she wanted me to check out the Kid Hip Website.

Kid Hip is where you can get songs with your little ones name in it!
Yes!
Say you have a child with an uncommon name...
You can look to see if they carry the name you are looking for!
If they have it, order a CD or a DVD...
and when it arrives, your little one will be so happy!

The CD contains 9 songs that say your little ones name.
I am not saying that they say it just once or twice, they say it several times!

Look at the song list!

1. It's All About (name)
2. ABC With Me
3. Raspberry Spray
4. Monkey Counts to 20
5. Manners Matter
6. Swinging Subtraction
7. Color Wheel
8. Animal Rhymes
9. Fly

Over 1700 names?!
I tried to see if they had one with Broxton... Nope, they have BrAxton, but not BrOxton...
But, in checking on this for Broxton...
I now get to offer a CD for one of you lucky readers!!!!

How cool!!!

New Leaf Brands

Water? Soda? Tea?

I have been reviewing " The Official Beverage of Taste" and I love it!!!!!!!!!!
We were able to review several different flavors.
Being from the South...
Born and raised in Georgia...
I LOVE my sweet tea.

I was wondering what all these different tea's would do for me.
I have heard of Green Tea and Black Tea...
But did you know that there is White Tea and Blue Tea?

Yeah... What that is all about, I will never know...
But, I figured I would at least try it!
Boy, am I glad I did!!!

I like that they are glass and not plastic bottles.
I also like that they are made with pure and organic cane sugar!
How many other drinks do you know like that?

This is what we tried:
White Tea - Honeydew and Strawberry
Green Tea - Mango and Plum
Blue Tea - Lemon and Peach
Black Tea - Sweet and Unsweet
Half and Half - Tea and Lemonade
Lemonade - Black Cherry and Strawberry

My favorites were the Honeydew White Tea, the Mango Green Tea and the Peach Blue Tea.
Marc really liked the Lemonades... He liked the Black Cherry Lemonade best of all.

What do you drink during the day?

Fairy Tale Books - review & giveaway

Let me tell you a quick story...
One of my best friends, Cindy (she was the maid of honor at our wedding) threw me a baby shower for Broxton. Instead of cards, she asked that everyone buy a book and write a message in there...
That way, instead of cards that get placed in boxes, or thrown away...
We would always have them... and we would have a library for Broxton!!!!
Talk about a great idea!
I loved it!!!!

Why did I tell you this?
I wanted to let you know that I have found a few great books for you!!!
Have you heard of the Sock Fairy? The Knot Fairy? The Belly Button Fairy? or The Fart Fairy?

Bobbie Hinman is wonderful!!!
She was a successful author of cookbooks, but decided that as a grandmother to 10 grandchildren...
What better way to direct her attention than to make books for them?!
She has now created 4 books with fairies that tell the answers to kids questions...
(I really hope she has more in the works!)

I was able to review The Sock Fairy and The Belly Button Fairy.
I opened the package... emailed Bobbie... and then I could not wait any longer, I had to read them!
The illustration is outstanding! (I told her that I think they should sell some of the pages as prints!) Besides that ...
The story is great!
They are just too cute!!!

Don't you wonder where those missing socks go?!
Wonder no more!!!
The sock fairy took them! If you look at his house, you will see what I mean!!!!
(He is also the one playing around and putting the holes in them... He means no harm, he is just having fun!!!)

Or your Belly Button?
Where did it come from?
Well, while you were sleeping at the hospital, the belly button fairy came to visit and gave you one...

I will say, having Marc's older boys around... The Fart Fairy was one that I did not even want in the house...
LOL, but after reading these two...
I know I will eventually get the last two...
(I do want to know about the fart fairy and the knot fairy!)

These are very cute stories...
Now, you want to hear something even more awesome?
Bobbie also includes a cd with your book!
Get. This.
She reads the book!
It even has a little bell "fairy" chime when it is time to turn the page!!!
Shut up!
I am telling you...
How awesome is that?!
Also, she has a song that they sing... it is different for each book...
(They lyrics are included in your book!)

I do not let Broxton play with the books though... We read them together, I do not want them to get messed up! :)

Now, are you ready?!
Bobbie has generously offered a book for one of you to win as well!!!!

Tell me which book sounds best to you and why.

April and Oliver - Book Review

April and Oliver by Tess Callahan was one that was hard for me to put down...
The book opens up with the passing of April's younger brother, Buddy.

Once that sets the stage, you wonder what can possibly happen next!
(Well, at least I did!)
I think this book kept me going because of the relationship between April and her Nana. My Nana meant the world to me, so that was an added bonus in this book.

Seriously though, April and Oliver have been in each others lives since they were children...
Life took them in different directions, but quickly pulled them back into each others lives with the passing of Buddy.
Oliver has taken a clearly different path, going to law school, getting engaged...
His life is on track.
But April, oh April..
She is still tending bar, still running with the wrong crowd and there is no settling down in her future!
Oliver tries to be the knight in shining armor, trying to rescue April from everything...
This book pulls you in and keeps the pages turning...

Can April be saved? Is Oliver the one to save her?!

I really enjoyed this book, but I will tell you that it is not for everyone.
The basis for me saying it is not for everyone is the fact of strong language and the sexual content.
