Go On An Adventure with TinTin - The Adventures of TinTin Review

Image
Wow!  We just watched the movie, The Adventures of TinTin and it was a good one. I told Marc that I can't remember when I watched an animated movie like that... As it was animated, but not a cartoon.  It was like a movie for adults.. .but the animation makes it just as great for kids! As we watched it, I made a comment that it was like an animated version of  "National Treasure." It was full of adventure and it really keeps you on the edge of your seat. Ha!  I think that Marc and I got into it more than Broxton!  I was very impressed with the animation and guess what?  That was the first thing that Marc said as well! Let me tell you about this "adventure" TinTin is the boy (I went into the movie thinking it was the dog!)  He is a reporter and stumbles upon a story needing to be told!    All because of a ship he purchased that has a secret!  Not only does he need to find the secret, he needs to figure out the curse!  I don't want to give more aw

It's Friday! Welcome to Aloha Friday!  I am linking up with Kailani and hope you will as well.  From Kailani's blog: Welcome to this week’s edition of Aloha Friday. In Hawaii, Aloha Friday is the day that we take it easy and look forward to the weekend. So I thought that on Fridays I would take it easy on posting, too.   My question this week is a bit for advice: If you were to pack a lunch for a toddler to take to school.. What would you pack?  There can be no peanut products at all... Have a great weekend!!!!

Show Your Colors with @J3LL watches #giveaway

Image
I am not sure how often you wear a watch...  I used to wear them all the time... Not so much now, as I have clocks through the house and on my phone... Marc on the other hand... he always has to have a watch on... Have you seen the latest jelly watches ?  They reminded me of when I was younger and jelly shoes were the item to have...  So, if you are looking to make a statement and be a "cool kid" you really need to continue reading...  (Hey, you might not want to be cool, but your kids might want to be and I am sure they wish you were!) So, these watches... You have three basic designs... The Clock - round face The Rock - large square face The Block - sleek square face Purple Rock Okay, so you might not be that interested at this point... but stay with me...  Are you ready?  The faces are interchangeable with other bands!!!  Yes! Laugh and Cry with The Descendants - Out Now March 13

Image
If you are looking for a movie to both make you laugh and make you cry... the Descendants is just the movie for you.  I loved it and Marc did as well. It really has hilarious parts in it that had Marc literally laughing out loud at it... The only draw back to this is that there is a good amount of profanity.  I would recommend this to my mom and my aunt, but due to the language, I know both would turn it off before it was over... Unless they could actually over-look it.  Especially the daughter, Alex.  She has much built up anger and you can tell that one of her ways to get it all out is her nasty mouth. Now that I have watched the movie (and learned that it is based on a book) I really want to read the book now.  For those of you like me that enjoy reading, I am adding a study guide to this post that is a "book to film discussion guide." I will tell you this, while watching the movie, I made a comment to Marc that I really liked the way George Clooney aged from the st

Helping Kids to Get Along - Red & Yellow's Noisy Night

Image
The latest book that we have been reading is Red & Yellow's Noisy Night. This is a great book for us right now, as it talks about getting along when things are so different. You see, Red loves to play his strummy really loud and for long periods of time.  While that is going on, take a guess what Yellow wants to do.  He want's to snuggle up with his pillow and sleep!  We all know how it is to want to sleep and relax, but have loud sounds around us preventing that rest from happening.. Here is a Q and A with the author, Josh Selig.   1.   What inspired Red & Yellow’s characters? JOSH:  Well, Red is based loosely on a friend of mine in college who was a wonderful dancer.  She was spontaneous and intuitive and free.  Yellow is based on Malcolm Butler.  He is the IT Director at my company, Little Airplane.  Malcolm is very brilliant and he likes everything done in a certain way. 2.   Why did you choose an Olive Tree? JOSH:  I spent some time

Our Incredible Night with @WWE. That's What Memories Are Made Of

Image
Not to brag about my hometown or anything, but the last few weeks have brought much excitement to Albany, Georgia!  I was very shocked to see that Smackdown: The Road to Wrestlemania was going to be headed down there.  I just tend to think of the WWE in bigger venues, so I really wanted to go and take Broxton.  Not that the Civic Center down there is teeny, tiny... but that it is small in comparison to Atlanta's Phillips Arena! We luckily had the chance to go and you will never believe who went with Broxton and I... My parents! Yes!  They really wanted to go and see how Broxton would react to seeing all the wrestlers... and I tell you now... Broxton did not disappoint!  He was yelling and screaming and chanting just as loud as every other person in there.  My parents were a bit of amusement all in their own too... Broxton so excited to be at WWE!!!! (Even in his too big for him John Cena shirt!) Why?  Because they know nothing about today's wrestlers, so they wer

Tell Me About Your Dreams... Hugo Movie Review

Image
Movies are where dreams are made.... or something similar to that...  That was the conversation that stuck with me when watching the movie, Hugo. I loved this movie.  As soon as you watch it, you will know what I meant by that first line... and you will also see why I can say that I loved this movie.   The little boy that plays Hugo had me as a fan in Nanny McPhee Returns, so I was happy to see him as a main character again...   This movie is different... I guess that is how to put it.   It is the story of Hugo. He lives in a train station ...   Always having to run and hide from the inspector.  (That part made me sad and it was really weird seeing Sasha Baron Cohen as that role.)  This movie is all about gadgets... and belonging... Whether it is the mechanical piece that belongs in the item ... or the person belonging in the current situation. I can not say enough how much I really enjoyed this movie.  Marc was right there with me and once it was over he even commented on

Larry the Cable Guy Get's R Done in Tooth Fairy 2

Image
We have had the chance to watch several great movies lately. One of which was Tooth Fairy 2. Now, we loved the original one that had the Rock. Partly because it was a funny movie, but also because this whole house consists of "The Rock" fans.  I find Larry the Cable Guy simply hilarious.. So I was pretty eager to watch the second installment of the Tooth Fairy.   After seeing the previews for this one, I was curious as to how it would compare.  I think part of me enjoyed the first one more, since it was a new story line.  This is a continuation of the first one, but with Larry as the new Tooth Fairy.  I think I might have been a bit disappointed, since none of the cast from the first movie was in this one... I was looking forward to that...  Don't get me wring, it was funny... but it was a bit to be expected as far as the story goes. BUT, I did love Larry.  He is just as funny as he always is... and it was cute to have a little girl as his boss.  Marc and I bot
