I do not know many kids that are not fans of goldfish... I am not saying that all kids love them, but for the majority, all kids I know do!  Also, I do not think I have ever met a kid that was not a fan of macaroni and cheese.  As soon as I saw that Pepperidge Farm had released macaroni and cheese goldfish, I was sure it could not get much better and that Broxton was going to be in heaven!!!
Except, it wasn't meant to be.  He was not a fan...  He did love the cartoons on the back and the shapes, but that was about it... I thought they were okay.
Have you seen them?
The goldfish macaroni and cheese is available in four different flavors:
Cheddar, Cheesy Pizza, Butter Parmesan and Nacho Cheese

I was not impressed with the Butter Parmesan and the Nacho Cheese was a bit too strong...
But, the Cheddar was pretty good.  I am normally not a fan of the shaped macaroni, since they are normally not that flavorful... but these actually surprised me versus the other shapes in the past!

Have you tried the Goldfish Macaroni and Cheese yet?

Introducing...   The "Mack Daddy"
We were sent the SNUGLI Booster Seat for review and as soon as I opened it ... I knew Broxton was going to be in heaven with it...  Besides the safety that made me love it, I knew the camo print was going to have him talking about it...
Let me try and show you some of the things I am now in love with:

The seat as a whole... It has a back (which basically all friends/ family recommended)  It has 2 cup holders.  5 point harness.  It is a 2 in 1.  Meaning you can use it as a forward facing car seat 22-65 lbs.  but then you can use it as a booster seat with your cars seat belt from 40 - 110 lbs.
I love the fabric... it is made of a temperature controlled fabric that makes it not too hot in the summer (Broxton has complained many times about the seat being too hot for him to get into... but since he has been in this one, I have heard no complaints at all about it being too hot.)  but  it also allows for absorption of heat to keep little ones warm during winter months.
The seat is made with 3 layers of foam for impact safety!
I absolutely love the cup holders... they have the elastic in there to allow for smaller or larger cups... no need to worry about your cup not fitting... most should work!

Besides it being safe and looking good... (Seriously, Marc said he wished they had a booster seat that he could ride in, if it was going to be this fancy...)  I am totally in love with the ease of putting it in the car.  That has always been a huge problem for me.  It was always so hard to move from my car to my dads car... or to whatever vehicle we needed....  So much that I would plan for a couple hours to get it moved over, because due to my frustration, I would quit a couple times... Now, it is so easy, I just click and it is good to go.  I went to put the new booster in and quickly came back in... (Already finished.)  Marc asked if I needed him to go and move it... and I was proud to tell him I was already finished!

I love having it on the 5 point harness still.  When he gets older / bigger, we will move it to just the booster, but for now, I love it this way.   I will say, Broxton has a hard time snapping it closed himself, so I have to do it for him... But honestly, it doesn't bother me at all.
It has an easily identifiable area to use as a booster seat.  Without being all weird and in the way.
Now, don't you see why we call it the "Mack Daddy" of booster seats?
We love it and have really enjoyed having it in the car!!!  Knowing that Broxton is safe is a great feeling to have, especially in this Atlanta traffic!  If you are looking for a great looking and secure booster seat, make sure to check out the Snugli Booster Seat!

Mack Daddy?

Broxton has always been in the higher percents as far as height and weight...
Saying that, we always have to look at the safety for him in cars...   ( I know all parents do, I am just referring to him being taller than most.)
I was hesitant to turn him forward facing... Yes, I followed the laws... but even so, I wanted to keep him safest for as long as he could be... But when you are like 95% for height and your legs are folding facing rear, you wonder when to turn him...
Then, in a blink of an eye (or so it seems) he turned 4 and we were talking about booster seats...
I started asking friends what their opinions were on the booster seats with no backs versus the ones with the backs on them... and pretty much every single one said that they preferred the ones with the backs.
I tell you, that was a pretty good conversation, as some parents with younger kids wanted to hear the opinions everyone had... to prepare for when it was there turn.

Needless to say, I went with a booster seat with a back... As that was the one most recommended from friends and family...  Then...  It came....
We were sent a booster seat for review (we needed two, so this was awesome... we bought one... and then the "mack daddy" of them all arrived.)

You might want to know why I keep saying "Mack Daddy"  .... well, we can all thank my parents for that vocabulary!  Whenever mom or dad think something is above being awesome, it goes in the Mack Daddy category.  Now that I think about it... I can't think of what else is in the category right now, because Broxton's new booster seat has gone and wiped everything else out!

Let me tell you.....
We were sent the Snugli Booster car seat...
When I saw the box at the front door, I almost broke my neck trying to get to it as fast as I could...
Then, I opened the box and said those magic words...  "Mack Daddy!"

Broxton was at school, so I got to check it out...
Ooohing and Aahing over it... telling Marc all about it.
I felt like I was telling Marc the details in a new car I wanted him to buy for me.
"Two Cup Holders"  "Memory Foam Seats" "Breathable Fabric"  "Camo Print!!!"
But the best for me?  "EASY TO INSTALL."

Okay...
I will be back tomorrow to show you pictures and tell you more about it...
AM I IN LOVE?
I believe so... but it's okay... Marc wants one for him too!

I may not remember what I had for lunch last week... but I can tell you one thing I do remember...
My strawberry shortcake doll!
I loved her and I loved that when you gave her a big hug, she breathed a strawberry scent!
It was awesome... and thanks for that trip down memory lane!!!

Too bad I don't have a little girl, because I would be all about strawberry shortcake!

Broxton enjoys watching Phineas and Ferb, when it is on....  and we all know how much he just loves the Marvel Super Heroes.   I saw that they were going to have the super heroes mixed in with Phineas and Ferb... but we were not able to watch it...  When I saw that it was going to be available on DVD, I knew that was going to make Broxton pretty excited.
As soon as he saw the cover, he had to ask to watch it... and he really seemed to enjoy it.  I just wish it would have been several shows with those characters, not just the one that was on there...  This DVD had the Marvel characters and Phineas and Ferb... but then there were a couple other Phineas and Ferb episodes, so I felt like the kids would be happy.  (At least it wasn't just one episode and then that be it!)

Synopsis:
After Dr. Doofenshmirtz’s latest "-inator" scheme accidentally removes the powers of some very well-known Marvel Super Heroes (Spider-Man, Iron Man, Thor, and Hulk), the heroes enter the world of Danville and team up with Phineas and Ferb to relocate their powers, defeat the Marvel Super Villains (Red Skull, MODOK, Whiplash and Venom) - who have also shown up to steal Doofenshmirtz’s power-draining technology - and save Danville from ultimate destruction!

So Many Changes... Remember When?

I hope I don't offend people with this post...
But, I am totally open for any conversation on this, so I really hope to hear your opinions!

I just do not really see where this world is headed...  (I AM NOT TALKING POLITICS.)
I just saw on the Nightly News that one school has banned baseball, football or any sports ball that might harm a child while at recess.    Now, I am not the sharpest tool in the shed, but I remember having all sorts of things to play at recess. (Not just school year, but daycare centers too)

We had monkey bars that looked like this... Hey, I think we even had our class picture taken on it one year.
It was METAL = HOT in GEORGIA SUMMER.  Not that safe, but loads of fun and we all made it.

Image - Google Search

The Merry Go Round.  Another metal one... and the best part was spinning it as fast as you could, while standing... hoping you didn't fly off.
Image - Google Search
The SEESAW.  Oh yeah buddy.. Remember jumping off so that the other person came down so much faster?  It wasn't the nicest thing to do... but once again, we made it!
Image - Google Search
Finally, Tetherball.  OKAY...  That was AWESOME.  We ALL loved it... and it was a ball.  on a string.  flying directly at you...
Image - Google Search
Now, it seems like every single time you turn around, yet another item is being banned... not safe...  yes, I understand that we learn that things are harmful and we change from that... but come on...  What else is there going to be left to do at recess?  No sports balls?  Many of the playground structures are gone now...  Swings used to be made with chains and that seat.. you would swing as high as you could and then jump out... now, they are those bucket type things where you can lay in it...   What can they still do?  If you want kids to get outside and play... why take away the things that kids find to be fun and exciting?

I also heard that they are teaching math differently...  no longer teaching cursive... and that they changed some of the names of the shapes?  WHAT the What?!
Broxton will be in kindergarten next year and I am a bit nervous that the things I know will be considered "wrong" from todays teachings...

Am I the only one?

Keep Them Safe #Giveaway

FTC Compliant Review Policy:
The product(s) featured in this review were provided free of cost to me by the manufacturer or representing PR agency for the sole purpose of product testing. Opinions expressed are my own and are NOT influenced by monetary compensation.

Let me start by saying I am all about driver safety... I feel you can never be too careful, as you don't have to worry just about your driving, but you have to worry about those around you.
For Christmas one year, I gave one of my stepsons a car safety kit for a gift.  I knew he was turning 16 soon and I wanted to know that I could try and help keep him as safe as possible. Hey, my parents gave me one as a gift....  It is all about the love!!!
Well, I wanted to make sure we had one for us to be safe, so I was glad to have a chance to share some safety tips with you!

Tip 1: Help your kids become safer drivers by talking openly about your expectations and rules for when they’re behind the wheel, such as never texting or using their cell phones while driving.
Consider negotiating a Teen Driving Contract that requires your teen to avoid driving dangers, such as texting, driving under the influence and not wearing a seat belt. The NAIC even has a customizable Teen Driving Contract to get you started!
·         Tip 2: No matter how safe or prepared you or your teens may be, accidents happen. In the event you or your teen drivers are involved in an auto accident, make sure everyone knows what steps to take to stay safe and protect their identities when exchanging information for a claim.
The NAIC’s free WreckCheck app  walks you through what to do — and not do — after an accident. The app helps users collect necessary information on the spot, then immediately emails a report to your home and your insurance agent. The app can be found online at iTunes® and Google Play® or by searching “NAIC” at the iTunes store or Android market.
·         Tip 3: Adding a teen driver to your auto insurance policy can be costly. Make sure both you and your teen drivers understand all the insurance implications of how even minor fender-benders can add up.
Insureuonline.org is an unbiased resource to help you and your teen drivers get educated about the risks and insurance implications of unsafe driving.

I was very impressed when we received the Auto Safety Kit.  It was nicely packed in a great (and easy to carry) travel bag.  They even had a First Aid Kit and  GLOVES!

Now, one lucky winner can win a car safety kit just like the one we received.
(It would make an AWESOME gift if you don't need one for your car!)
Auto Safety Kit Includes: approx. $50 value; complete with first aid kit, booster cables, tow straps, flashlight, reflective triangles and more

Make sure you visit the TEEN DRIVING 101 INFOGRAPHIC - lots of interesting statistics on there!

I might be the first to say this... but I am sort of sad that I finally know the mom in How I Met Your Mother...  I haven't been an avid watcher, but when I do, I am always cracking up at the show.  I keep saying I want to start at season one and watch them all, but I do not know anyone that has the first couple of seasons for me to borrow.

More @AmericasMartATL - Kids Fun

*** This is Not a sponsored post.

I am so excited to tell you about some of the products/ companies I learned about while visiting Americas Mart!!!  This time though, I want to share some of the great things I thought would be awesome for kids (or at least kids at heart!)

Up first, I want to tell you about Word Teasers.
This is actually a pretty neat company.  It is like a conversation starting game... but it incorporates learning words/phrases/origins.    The great thing is that they come in many different subjects, so they are sure to have something that would be great for your family!  Each Word Teasers Set comes in a box with 150 cards...  When you visit their site, you can look to see which ones grab your attention.  (They also have the ages it is best suited for... I loved that for the vocabulary ones!)

Next?  Bananagrams!
I will admit, I have seen these before, but have never played them...  But - I had NO CLUE that they were more than just bananas!  They also have an apple game "appletters" , a pear game "pairs in pears" and even a domino game "Fruitominoes.'  For those of you that like camping/going to the beach/playing outside, they even have these awesome Jumbo games!
Head over and check them out when you have time!

For the Dog Lover in you... I learned about Canine Cardz.  This is a neat little game... Well, gameS!  It is actually 8 games all in this cute little carry cylinder.    The best part?  There are games in there... but there are also cards included... that teach YOU HOW to draw dogs...
The eight games:   Mutt Match, Go Fetch, Woof, Zazzy 3's, Stay, Pass that Pooch, Bones, Dog Catcher.

I then saw the Tegu booth and I tell you now, those look so fun!  I want to learn to make some of them!  Have you heard of Tegu?  They are WOODEN MAGNETIC blocks!  There are so many different things you can make!  Think of the creativity of kids anyways... now, add to it that they are magnetic blocks... Yeah... Wow... it all just expanded!    What I like is that you can go ahead and buy the large set from the start... OR you can start with "starter sets" for $60.  Then... you can add to when you want.
I love the different colors you can buy!
