As I have mentioned before, there were things we did not think about needing when Broxton was a baby. Sure, a pain reliever / fever reducer was a given, but I did not think about medicines for constipation and what not... Until it was the middle of the night and you could tell that all was needed was a good potty.  I know I can not be the only parent out there running to a store in the middle of the night to try and buy whatever will make my little one feel better... Am I?  Well, this time around, I keep saying I plan on being more prepared... that includes having Mommy's Bliss Constipation Ease on hand ready to go!  While I hope I don't have to deal with it, if it is something that comes up, I want to be ready!
I was sent a few items from the Mommy's Bliss line and I want to share with you today!
I don't know if any of your children have nightmares or anything like that, but from time to time, Broxton will wake up from a bad night.  As a mom, it is heartbreaking when they are scared and you can not make things better.  You know you would do anything for them, but when they are in a dream state, you can't make it right (some times.)  We had a situation a bit ago when he was having a bad dream.  I finally got him to realize it was a dream, but he was scared and I was sad... Then, it hit me... I had a spray that I had used from time to time to help me relax to go to sleep. I told him I had a special "dream spray" that would make him have great dreams...  I got the spray and that was it... All better!   Since we are getting excited for our baby girl to arrive, I knew I was going to need to have a few things for her... One was the Sweet Slumber Baby Wash. The other was the Sweet Slumber Mist (aka Dream Spray in our house)
I was excited to get it for review and I love knowing we are stocked and ready for a nice bath /bed time routine!
I was also sent the Upset Tummy Relief for kids.  Just because we are having a baby join us, it doesn't mean that we need to no longer stock up for Broxton.  Growing boys have upset tummy problems, so if we have that come up, we are ready to deal with it!
The last thing is I need to go ahead and buy some gripe water.  I had it with Broxton and felt that it did help (have you seen a gassy baby before?)
Make sure you head over to see what all products Mommy's Bliss carries.  You just might realize you need to stock up on a few things too!

Coolest #DiaperBag Ever from @SkipHop #BringingHomeBaby #BabyEvent

If you are looking for an awesome diaper bag, for you or someone else, you need to look at the Skip Hop Forma Diaper Bag!  With Broxton, I had a few different ones, but this one is just the "mack daddy" of them all, as my dad would say.  Here we are in 2015 and he LOVES using that phrase- STILL.
So, let me tell you about this bad boy!
I was sent the black one ( black goes with EVERYTHING, if you are one to try and match your diaper bag with your clothing or what not) and I love that the interior gives you a spark of color!
First up, besides the bag just looking awesome, it actually comes with 2 storage cubes for the front pocket.  You can use the one bag with the mesh cover to pack a change of clothing.  The other bag (with the white / black pattern) is an insulated bottle carrier!  Both of these cubes have an easy to grab handle on the top of them, great for grabbing them out of their pocket up front.
Next up, you get awesomely huge side pockets!  They are large enough to fit most any size bottle, but get this.. they are also insulated!

See the beautiful inside color?  It also seems easy to wipe and I love that there is a good sized pocket on the back.  It comes with a changing pad and it says that you can fit a tablet or laptop (up to 15") in that compartment.  I know you can't see them, but there are also 2 more smaller pockets on the inside, great for storing what other odds and ends you might need.
Final selling point on this bag being amazing to me?  The back straps!  It isn't you normal over the shoulder (or handbag) type diaper bag.  Remember, this is a backpack!  It also has stroller straps on there to allows for you to carry it what ever way is most convenient for you!!!
Make sure to follow Skip Hop on facebook and twitter so you can see what all products they carry!

Walmart Family Mobile is Helping Me #Save4Summer #CollectiveBias #Ad

This shop has been compensated by Collective Bias, Inc. and Walmart Family Mobile.
All opinions are mine alone. #Save4Summer #CollectiveBias .
Summertime normally means family vacations (or staycations) fun and all sorts of "non-school" events if you have a child or are a teacher.   We had plans to go and do, until we were surprised with the news of our little girl headed this way.  Needless to say, summer plans changed and instead of planning trips to go and do things, we were planning on getting a nursery ready and working on a budget.  One budget we needed to focus on?  Our cell phone plans!  I don't know about you, but there are so many out there, it is hard to choose!  You first have to figure out the provider you want, then you need to figure out the phone and then the main thing is what plan is going to work in your budget.  For us, we wanted the Lowest Priced Unlimited Plans.  (Hey, we are here to save, right?!)
A friend of mine mentioned getting her daughters cell phone bill and she almost had a heart attack, the bill was over $900.  The daughter had gone through a TON of DATA.  Lucky for us, our local Wal-mart offers the Walmart Family Mobile plan, so we are giving it a go.
It was actually pretty simple.  I went to our local store and found the phone that would be perfect for what I needed it for.  (For us, that was the ZTE ZMAX)  It was a little bit bigger than the phone we currently have, but it is smaller than our mini tablet, so it would be perfect to use for talking on the phone, sending messages and of course doing things online.  Let's be honest here, what did we do before cell phones?  I have no clue how I functioned some days without the internet so easily accessible!  When purchasing the phone, I had to also purchase a starter kit.  (That had the SIM card in there that I would need to have my phone work.)  After that, I told the associate that I wanted to try the plan offered at $29.88 a month.  That offers me  Unlimited Talk, Text & Data service plan which includes up to 1G of 4G LTE data.  I did make it a point to ask the guy over the phone for 100 % assurance that the bill was going to be $29.88 plus taxes and that I would not be surprised with a bill of like $100 at the end of the month.  He said yes, I was correct, so I also asked the lady that sold me my phone.  So many times you can get taken advantage of, so I wanted to be sure. With the Family Plan, you get your bill at the end of the month, so I wanted to be certain.  I don't have time (or patience) to be dealing with arguing about a cell phone bill for data usage.
ZTE ZMAX Phone from Walmart Family Mobile

As I said, it was easy.  I went in, told them the phone I wanted, the plan I wanted and bought the starter kit.  You can buy it all and then go home to set it up, but I wanted to make sure it was done right, so they even set the phone up for me at that time... IN THE STORE!  I can pay the bill over the phone or go into a store and pay it, many easy options.
Disclaimer: All prices for phones and plans included in this post are accurate as of the date of posting; however, these prices are subject to change. Please refer to or your local Walmart for current pricing.
With the new ZTE ZMAX phone, it was very easy to download the apps that you use most.  For us, it was the news (and of course that meant sports too!)  Another big one? Instagram!  You have got to be able to share and see what is going on in social media.  This phone is so easy to use that our 6 year old had to go on there and check out all the photos that were posted of him.  He might have been looking for ones with him showing his love for LEGO Bricks....  There are just a "few" on there.
Since we have a baby on the way, we needed to know that we could not only send photos to one another, but we had to know that the camera was pretty good and that it would be easy to use, especially to snap photos of a newborn!  Here he was being silly, trying me with those "puppy dog eyes" to see if he could watch tv a bit longer.

Now that we have the data issue established on our new Walmart plan, we can focus on other things.
Up first?  Diapers for the little one.  If you have kids, or are familiar with babies, you know good and well that they go through some diapers!  Since she will be here soon enough, I figured it was a great time to stock up!  (Didn't hurt that I could go and grab them from Walmart after I bought my phone!)
While summer travel might be put on hold, with us saving money to spend elsewhere, we can still focus on a few fun activities for us to enjoy before we have a baby with us.  Some days leave us all a bit more tired than others, but at the end of the day, it is the memories we are making, right?
Question - What would you do if you were able to save money by getting on the Walmart Family Mobile Plan?  Go on a weekend vacation?  Go out to a fancy dinner?  Maybe take the kids somewhere fun for the day?  Send them to camp?  The next question is this - if you could save money by switching, what are you waiting for?

In an earlier post, I told you about all of the cute baby shower ideas you can check out at Hallmark. Now, I want to tell you about a few other items they have.  I also want to host a giveaway for you to win something of your own!  I don't know what you thought about the "Miracle" line that Hallmark has (remember, I showed you the picture frame that they sent me)  well, there are a few other items that might grab your attention.
Up first : Little Miracle Baby Memory Book.   This book is being sold for $39.95.  While this is a bit more in the upper price range for other baby books I have seen, it really looks to be worth it. With Broxtons book, I ended up not keeping up with it, I know... HORRIBLE mom, I know, I know!  In this Hallmark book, it seems to be simple enough as to not feel overwhelmed with filling it out, but it is also detailed enough for you to remember the things you want to record.  I love that it has a 3 ring binder, so you can add if you need to!
Inside pages, fun backgrounds and space to record the information you want to keep.
This book actually goes up to 5 years old with little spaces for you to add photographs / paragraphs of thing you will want to remember.
Now, on to the giveaway!
One lucky reader is going to win the Handprint Kit and Frame.   I really like that it comes with all you need.  The paint for the handprint is included and they even include a mat for you to decide what color you want to go with!  (You can choose from pink or blue, both included in the box.)
This would be a great gift to give to someone that has chosen to let the gender be a surprise for that reason alone!  Not to mention everyone loves looking at the little handprints to see how much they grow and chance. Talk about a great gift now and for years to come when you look back!  Just enter to win on the rafflecopter form below.

When looking for a great baby gift, there are many ways you can go about doing it.  You can look at what they registered for, you can just get what you want or you can go to Hallmark and you can purchase the most adorable and loving baby gifts around!   When I was younger, I was a frequent Hallmark shopper, you know, back in the days of hanging out at the mall on the weekend.  Now, the mall days are few and far between, but being pregnant and stepping into a Hallmark brought all those mushy feelings up!  Have you seen the assortment of baby gifts
Getting to work with Hallmark is always wonderful and when I was sent a few things from their baby gifts line, I was so excited.  I am not sure who was more excited about the Noah's Ark Ceramic Bank, but Broxton and I both thought it was pretty neat. It is pretty heavy, which means you don't have to worry about it breaking apart super easy.  I love that instead of it being painted, it was left to be gender neutral!  (It could have been painted and taken on more girl/ boy look or been to animated and left to have been a bit "babyish" versus the way it is now, where it can go along with them for years to come!)
The fact that they made it to make sounds when money is put in there?  Yep, just going above and beyond being a typical bank!  You can buy this for $29.95, so I think this is a very affordable gift.
If you know me, you know that I love photographs!   Yes, I absolutely do, so when I was sent this cute little frame, I knew it was soon going to be hanging in her room, with one of the first pictures we take of her!   True enough, life is a miracle, so you can't argue with a baby picture frame that says " This is what a Miracle looks like."  I love that it is a white frame, but that the letters in Miracle are of different colors, so again, it can go in a boy or a girl room.  This frame is $16.95, so again.. affordable and in a great price range!
As I said, there are so many other things they carry that I would love to have!
Now on my wish list?  The
peek-a-boo owl  (her room is an owl theme) and the mother and baby figurine are just a couple more products I love!
Do you have a Hallmark near you?  Do you shop there often? If not, head in and see what all they carry. You would be surprised, it is SO MUCH MORE than just cards!  They also have several great gift idea's for Fathers Day!  We had to check it all out when we were there the other day!

Make sure to come back soon, I have a Hallmark giveaway for you!

It's Never Too Early To Talk Oral Hygiene - @BabyBuddyBear #BringingHomeBaby #BabyEvent

It is NEVER too early to start practicing great oral hygiene.  I remember when Broxton was born, I was living in South Georgia and was trying to read everything I could online.  One website mentioned "Tooth Tissues" and I knew that was something I really needed for Broxton.  It was talking about getting these wipes and basically wiping his gums.  Of course, I headed to the store in Atlanta that carried them on my next trip up to see friends!   I had the little brush that you put on your finger to rub his gums too, but again, I had no clue there were different products for different ages.  I just sort of rolled with the flow of things.
Now, I know that there are products for nearly any and every thing you can think of.  I won't be purchasing everything (I also learned items we for sure do not need) but I will be making sure that oral hygiene is still a top priority.
As I mentioned in a previous post, I am all about gift bags full of different goodies. You can go with a theme (such as the one in this post) or go based upon brand name.  You can even mix and match to have it full of things YOU think would be perfect.  No wrong answer here!
Baby Buddy has oral hygiene products that cover the tooth tissues (stage 1) up to a little toothbrush (stage 6) I want to cover these for you!
Stage 1 - Tooth Tissue (age 0-16 months) Prevent tooth decay by wiping down baby’s teeth and gums after each feeding. Use Tooth Tissues® from birth to promote healthy habits that will last a lifetime.
Stage 2 - Finger Toothbrush (age 3+ months) Place the toothbrush over the adult’s index finger, wet the toothbrush, and gently brush/ massage baby’s gums and teeth. Toothbrush must fit snugly onto the fingertip to make sure that it will not come off during use and become a choking hazard.
Stage 3 - Wipe - n- Brush (age 4-16 months) Wrap Tooth Tissue™ securely around adult index finger. Place the toothbrush over the adult’s index finger. The toothbrush must fit snugly to make sure it does not come off and pose a choking hazard. Gently wipe gums and teeth with the tooth tissue. Baby’s gums are soothed as you wipe or brush.
Stage 4 - Baby's first Toothbrush (age 4+ months) Wet toothbrush and gently massage baby’s gums and teeth. Allow baby to bite down, helping to clean teeth and soothe teething pain
Stage 5 - 360 Toothbrush ( age 4-24 months) The 360° bristles work both ways to brush your teeth, offering a fast and easy way to brush your child's teeth. While ordinary toothbrushes break apart in a few days from biting, the Baby Buddy 360 Toothbrush is durable enough to last more than 3 months...10x longer than the average toothbrush.

Stage 6 - 360 Toothbrush (age 2-4 years) Same as above, but has medium bristles versus soft bristles.
I personally think that giving a gift of great oral hygiene is a good thing.  It not only starts them on the right track, but we all know good hygiene results in better health overall.  Baby Buddy Oral Care has a variety of colors of products to make everyone happy.  Make sure to follow them on Facebook and Twitter.

At what age did you start worrying about Oral Hygiene with your little ones?

I love how shows from years ago are still popular... Maybe they have changed some, but the characters my kid brother grew up loving are still out there going strong!   I wanted to share with you 2 new Ninja Turtles DVD's that are being released on June 9th.
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: NYC Showdown
  • Return to New York, Part 1-The Turtles return to New York with one goal in mind--to destroy Shredder once and for all. With April providing remote computer assistance from the lair, the Turtles begin their assault on the Foot Headquarters skyscraper, fighting their way to the top, floor by floor.  They must overcome an army of Foot Ninja Guards and the deadly cloaking Foot Tech Ninja, but no one is quite prepared for what they encounter inside a Foot Genetics lab.
  • Return to New York, Part 2-The Turtles and Splinter continue to fight their way up through the Foot Headquarters skyscraper, facing down three misshapen Mutant Shredder Clones, a hallway of traps and never-before-seen supernatural foes known as the Mystic Ninja. Finally, they reach their goal--the top floor and Shredder's throne room--but they must confront Shredder's deadly Foot Elite Ninja. Things really get out of hand when Stockman, in a souped-up exo-suit, crashes the party…literally.
  • Return to New York, Part 3-With Stockman showing up in the middle of the final battle between our heroes and Shredder, everything is thrown into chaos, temporarily forcing the Turtles to team up with Shredder and Hun to defeat Stockman before he annihilates them all. Once Stockman is eliminated, the final fight continues as the Turtles face the ultimate challenge high atop Shredder’s skyscraper.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Search For Splinter
  • Things Change–In the first episode of this series, the Turtles and Master Splinter are suddenly attacked by a horde of Mouser robots! These mechanical menaces chomp through stone, steel, and even Turtles, until the roof of the Turtle’s sewer-lair caves in, separating our heroes from their beloved Master. Now the Turtles must abandon their home of 15 years and find their missing master.  On the way, they have to deal with collapsed sewer tunnels, the Purple Dragon street gang and a small army of mysterious, highly trained ninjas!
  • The Search for Splinter, Part 1–After the frustrated Turtles exhaust their search for Splinter, their suspicions turn to the Guardians and the trail soon leads them to a non-descript building.  The initials of its company name spell out “TCRI”–the same letters stamped onto the canister of ooze responsible for their mutation.  Now with two reasons to infiltrate that building, the Turtles recruit both April and Casey to help get them inside.
  • The Search for Splinter, Part 2–In this conclusion of the two-part season finale, the Turtles successfully infiltrate the mysterious TCRI building, where they manage to sneak into its inner sanctum and locate the unconscious Splinter inside a stasis tank.  They also discover that there’s more to the technicians inside than meets the eye.

I think I am pretty lucky when we get invited to a kids birthday party that has a theme... I try and buy a gift that the child will love and then if the theme is a show that is available on DVD, I try and grab a DVD to add in there as well.  I know Broxton likes to wind down at the end of the day with an episode of one of his favorite shows and since he doesn't have cable in his room, these DVD's are perfect for him!  If you have a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle Fan, make sure you see the new releases headed out soon!

Have you thought about what you are buying for Fathers Day this year?  It is next month and I already know what we are doing... As I have mentioned before, Marc is a fan of The Wonder Years.  It was cheaper to buy the entire collection at once, but not everyone wants to fork over that much money at once, so they also make them available for individual season purchase.  Season Three has recently become available, so that is what he is getting!
In THE WONDER YEARS: THE COMPLETE THIRD SEASON, the newest retail installment of the fan-favorite series, the education of Kevin Arnold continues.  He gets his first French kiss during an otherwise forgettable family vacation at the beach, and once back in school, he goes to his first make-out party.  The boyfriend-girlfriend thing still puzzles him; his relationship with Winnie (Danica McKellar) and Paul (Josh Saviano) simply adds to the confusion.  Cars enter the picture when his knucklehead brother Wayne (Jason Hervey) gets his driver's license.  And the young Kevin flirts with potential rock 'n' roll stardom after new kid Larry Beeman (Joshua Miller) gets The Electric Shoes up and running.
THE COMPLETE THIRD SEASON contains all 23 episodes from Season 3, in their original broadcast version across 4 loaded discs.  And, alongside the more than two hours of specially-produced bonus features including in-depth interviews and behind-the-scenes featurettes, the collector's set includes over 50 songs as they were featured in the original broadcast, with classics by The Beach Boys, The Jackson 5, Joni Mitchell, Paul Simon, Elton John, Linda Ronstadt, Judy Collins, The Lovin' Spoonful, James Taylor, The Who, The Righteous Brothers, James Brown, The Byrds, Jackie Wilson, and many others.

We were very fortunate that Broxton had no medical issues when he was born.  I know other people are not like us, but we can all be thankful for Children's Miracle Network Hospitals.  We don't have much money laying around, but you can bet when we are asked for a donation to Children's, we will always donate what we can.  The other day, I was asked to donate and of course I said yes.  Why not?  Who knows when you or a friend might need Children's Miracle Network Hospitals.

That being said, I was thrilled to know that Walmart and Pampers have teamed up to donate $200,000 in June!!!   Two companies I love to support, helping when they can!

Want to see how Walmart is helping?  Click on the Walmart link and it will take you to the site showing how they are supporting.  (You can even purchase products online if you don't feel like going into a store.)  Don't you want to help???

Show-and-tell can reveal a lot about a young boy’s interests and experiences. Trip uses the opportunity to proudly explain that his hand, leg and back scars are the result of a stumble into a campfire at age 4.
Rushed by helicopter to the Johns Hopkins Children’s Center, Trip spent two weeks receiving skin grafts and burn treatments. Throughout his stay, Trip didn’t let anyone know he was in pain, including the nurses whose names he still remembers to this day.
Bashful before his accident, Trip’s ordeal has helped him become bold and outspoken. He loves sports, singing and is quite the academic. Those who know him best say he’s a natural teacher and coach, who wants to help and inspire his soccer team and schoolmates to do well. By all accounts, he is succeeding and is a role model to many.
Have you had any experience with Children's Miracle Network Hospitals?
