MARVEL - Shang-Chi #ChristmasCountdown #Review

Image
If you mention MARVEL, you have our attention.  Broxton was a fan and now Savannah loves the franchise too!   I mean, this is the girl that went as Iron Man for Disney Day at school when all the other girls were going as Elsa!   Anyways, we wanted to see Shang-Chi as soon as we saw it was coming to theaters, but life happens and we didn't get to do so. You better believe that we watched it last night and it does NOT disappoint!     FTC Compliant Review Policy:    The product(s) featured in this review were provided free of cost to me by the manufacturer or representing PR agency for the sole purpose of product testing. This movie is so good!  We loved it and to be honest, I am ready to watch it again.  We all were glued to the screen the whole time!  You don't have to be a huge MARVEL fan to enjoy, so if you are new to the family, welcome ...

The Ghostly Tales of The Haunted South - #Review #CountdownToChristmas

Image
I don't know what age you start liking spooky stories, but Broxton does and Savannah says she does, but we don't tell real "spooky ones" right now.  I was given the chance to review The Ghostly Tales of The Haunted South by Allen Brown and I was just as eager to read it for myself as I was to give it to Broxton!  Since I am in Georgia - and we go to New Orleans each year, I thought this would be a great read!  I love how they are short stories and even include a few pictures along the way!  I was going to give it to Broxton now, but I have decided to wrap it up to be one of the books in our book countdown to Christmas!  I can't wait to hear what he has to say about it, but I know this... I bet he is going to be asking for a road trip or two in the future!  FTC Compliant Review Policy:    The product(s) featured in this review were provided free of cost to me by the manufacturer or representing PR agency for the sole purpose of product testing. Ugly Girl by Marcela Sosa #Review

Another book that is great to add to your Christmas countdown, or just because library?  Ugly Girl by Marcela Sosa.  We have had this one for a while and have decided it is time to donate, but not sure if I want to donate to our local Little Free Library or Savannah's school. Either way, the message there is a good one and I want to share it.   FTC Compliant Review Policy:    The product(s) featured in this review were provided free of cost to me by the manufacturer or representing PR agency for the sole purpose of product testing. Ugly Girl follows Mia as she starts school and learns how much the mean girls can hurt you.  She was hurt and thought about being a mean girl too, but remembered how she felt, so she set out to make a change and be a difference maker!    Press Release:  In Marcela Sosa’s debut book, “ Ugly   Girl ,” readers will exp...

Marvel Does It Again with #BlackWidow - #ChristmasCountdown #giftguide #review

We are a Marvel family here.  We love them -  all of them!  It is a joke that Thor is my boyfriend... I mean, I wouldn't deny it if he agreed, but ya know!  Anyways, Savannah loves all of the movies, Broxton loves all of them... and of course if it means bonding with the kiddo's, I am all about it!  We have watched them, laughed at them, been on the edge of our seats with them and you know we have cried with them too!  I really wish we had them all on DVD (perfect for road trips and the days our internet is flaky...) but thank goodness we have Disney Plus to get our fix on the ones we don't have a physical copy of.   FTC Compliant Review Policy:    The product(s) featured in this review were provided free of cost to me by the manufacturer or representing PR agency for the sole purpose of product testing. When I'm A Surgeon #RaisingAReader #ChristmasCountdown

Another day, another book for our Christmas Countdown!  This book was a good one, being that I work in an orthopedic office with orthopedic surgeons!  It was nice to let her learn about the kind of doctors I work for!    FTC Compliant Review Policy:    The product(s) featured in this review were provided free of cost to me by the manufacturer or representing PR agency for the sole purpose of product testing. Dreaming is Believing The concepts introduced in the book include managing a crisis, community responsibility, teaching, decision making, lifelong learning, scientific research, communication, entrepreneurship, leadership and combing a career with parenting.  In hands-on, practical terms, it allows youngsters to visualise and identify with becoming a surgeon and instils a belief that becoming a surgeon is achievable.  It builds self-confidence and self-efficac...

For Keeps - Dolls With a Positive Message - #ChristmasCountdown #review

Image
Well, the way things are going, tomorrow will be Christmas!  I mean, whew... time is flying so fast! It seems like once we hit September, the days are racing by!  We went out of town for a wedding recently and you know what Savannah did?  She took ALL of the toy flyers that we have been getting in the mail so that she could work on her Christmas list!   She wants a little of this and a little of that.   FTC Compliant Review Policy:    The product(s) featured in this review were provided free of cost to me by the manufacturer or representing PR agency for the sole purpose of product testing. Opinions expressed are  my own and are NOT influenced by monetary compensation. We were sent one of the For Keeps dolls for review and she absolutely loves it!  The doll is just the right size, but the thing is... it comes with the cutest little cupcake.  The cupcake holds these little messages in it that have affirmations on them.  (Th...

Hope At Sea - #RaisingAReader #ChristmasCountdown #AD

Oh my goodness, can you guys believe it is already November?  I mean... wow... time sure is flying, at least on my end of things!  You know how much we love reading around her...   and I love the idea of a Christmas countdown using books.  I have done it in the past and it is a fun thing for us to do. The thing is, you don't have to do new books.  You can get some new ones and mix in old ones.  Some people choose to do Holiday themed books, while others are a variety.  We have done both.  You can even mix in coloring books in there if you want.  I have seen some people number them how they want them opened and others just grab whichever book you want to use!
