the deepest end of love

Image
If you know me, you KNOW - I LOVE TO READ!!!!  I told a friend, Books are my love language!  I have books in pretty much every room of the house, some neatly displayed, some stacked ready to be enjoyed!  I constantly have a book wish list and I have to tell Matt NOT to let me buy more books, well, not until I am finished reading all that I have already - he has yet to tell me no, so not much help there!  He feeds the addiction at times, so I am helpless!  I had the pleasure of reading  Lisina Coney's latest - the deepest end of love - and just let me tell you- I love this book series!  The books are beautiful too, so its a win win! the brightest light of sunshine - BOOK REVIEW

Image
I love to read!  I took a break from reading - because every time I tried to read, one of the kids would want me to read to them... and I was NOT about to turn that down.  Well, now they are both old enough to read on their own and that has opened the door for me to enjoy reading again.  I have had a chance to read several different books lately, but one of the latest I have finished was:  The Brightest Light of Sunshine by Lisina Coney.  I really enjoyed this book.  It was a quick read and a happy read!  I actually asked a coworker if she wanted to read it (Normally takes her a while to get into a book, but she read it rather quickly and it is being passed around the office now!)  If you are looking for a book to curl up and enjoy, I would say to check this one out!!!   FTC Compliant Review Policy:    The product(s) featured in this review were provided free of cost to me by the manufacturer or representing PR agency for...

Shiny Happy People - Review

The love, the traditions, the giggles and the laughs.  That being said, I thought today, the DAY AFTER CHRISTMAS was a perfect time to share this book with you...  Shiny Happy People!    FTC Compliant Review Policy:    The product(s) featured in this review were provided free of cost to me by the manufacturer or representing PR agency for the sole purpose of product testing. Great Battles for Boys - American Revolution #BookReview

Image
Broxton used to love to read. He would always have a book in his hand, but then around 4th grade, that changed and he is no longer a fan of books.  I have noticed him slowly getting back into reading, but it is mostly books about military and history.  He has always been a fan of military history, so when I find books that might grab his attention, I am always eager to see if it will be enjoyed by him!   FTC Compliant Review Policy:    The product(s) featured in this review were provided free of cost to me by the manufacturer or representing PR agency for the sole purpose of product testing. From Concord and Lexington to Brandywine and Yorktown, the stunning battles show young readers how ragtag colonists took on the world’s mightiest military of its time — the British Imperial Army, otherwise known as the Red Coats. 100 Things to Do in Athens Georgia Before You Die - #AD #BookReview #GODAWGS

Image
If you know me at all... or if you follow me on Instagram... you know I LOVE MY DAWGS!!! My dad and my brother both went to the University of Georgia (I went to an art school, so no football teams!)  Down here in the south COLLEGE FOOTBALL is a way of life... for the most part, you play it or you at least watch it... and you have your team... and it is normally a BIG DEAL!  Before I was married and had kids, I worked in a sports bar... we were a Gator bar ( BIG RIVAL, we don't do sports teams that have orange in their logo! lol)  But most of the employees were Bulldawgs... Football season was always a good time for us... as far as having fun and making money!  Growing up, I have been to some of the home games... and always have fun. We had a great time in Athens when my brother graduated and have been there on several occasions.  Truth is, for the games, it has always been a go up and back kind of thing, so when I was given the chance to review the book, 1...

Image
Do you remember the first day of school drop off for your little one?  I do!  With Broxton, I was so blessed to know his teacher from church, so that helped.. but man I bawled when I got in the car!  Same thing for Savannah, it isn't like it gets any easier... The book, Don't Go To School takes a new spin on things when it is the mama being upset not wanting the little one to go to school.  Cute book that Savannah and I loved. So make sure to grab it for you and your little ones to enjoy! Anzu the great Kaiju #Review #RaisingaReader

Image
If you have been around, you know that I have a couple of Little Free Libraries in my hometown.  I love reading books with Savannah, but there are so many children out there that can not say they OWN their very own book.  That breaks my heart!  So, we get books to review, we read and love them and then we pass along some to the community.  Maybe they are read and returned, maybe they are claimed as one they can own and love over and over again.  A perfect book that we will be adding is ANZU THE GREAT KAIJU.  This is a cute book about spreading joy and kindness.  I mean, who doesn't like spreading joy and flowers and making others happy????? Mrs. Selfe's Zoo School of Art #Review

Image
A cute book with a great message, that is what Mrs. Selfe's Zo School of Art is!  As we meet each character of the book, we see that they are struggling with finding the best way to express themselves.  Thankfully, Mrs. Selfe is there to help show each one the best way to succeed!   This is a great read to enjoy at home, or share with friends!   FTC Compliant Review Policy:    The product(s) featured in this review were provided free of cost to me by the manufacturer or representing PR agency for the sole purpose of product testing. Be A Good Friend Like Russell - Tales of Russell Rabbit #Review #RaisingAReader

Image
This past year I have been fortunate enough to add two "little free libraries" to our community.  I am thankful that I get to review books and not only share them with you, but also share with those in our community.  Not everyone can get to a library and lets be honest, sometimes you fall in love with a book and want to keep it...   I  heard once that there are so many children that do not even have one book that they can call their own, so I am trying to do my part to change that.  I was recently sent Tales of Russell Rabbit for review.  I will be honest, when I opened the book I thought, man... that is A LOT of words for a kids book... but then it hit me... TALES.. meaning that we get stories in there, not a big ol' book!  This is a cute book that has several tales in there, most around a couple pages with a picture in it.  This would be a great bed time book, as they are short stories that will get some giggles... like a rabbit making a c...

The Ghostly Tales of The Haunted South - #Review #CountdownToChristmas

Image
I don't know what age you start liking spooky stories, but Broxton does and Savannah says she does, but we don't tell real "spooky ones" right now.  I was given the chance to review The Ghostly Tales of The Haunted South by Allen Brown and I was just as eager to read it for myself as I was to give it to Broxton!  Since I am in Georgia - and we go to New Orleans each year, I thought this would be a great read!  I love how they are short stories and even include a few pictures along the way!  I was going to give it to Broxton now, but I have decided to wrap it up to be one of the books in our book countdown to Christmas!  I can't wait to hear what he has to say about it, but I know this... I bet he is going to be asking for a road trip or two in the future!  FTC Compliant Review Policy:    The product(s) featured in this review were provided free of cost to me by the manufacturer or representing PR agency for the sole purpose of product testing. Make Your Mess Your Message #Review

Image
Life is messy, I get it.  Mine is FAR from perfect, but I do try to make the most out of it all.  I try to find the positive in most situations (key word - TRY) but I am telling you...  I would not be able to get through most things in my life if it wasn't for my girlfriends that sit and listen to me ramble and also give advice, sometimes hard advice too!   I thought this book was pretty neat as she worked on it during COVID QUARANTINE through Zoom meetings...Each week you have a new message.  It is the story from the next friend followed with a section with Mess/ Message/Action.  It even has a journaling section that lets you write the date and then there is a writing prompt that ties in with the message you just read.  So far, I am really enjoying this!!! Travels With Parky Pigeon - Flying to Our Local LFL #REVIEW #AD

Image
Travels with Parky Pigeon is a book that we were able to review.  It was a cute book about a Pigeon that just wasn't like his family...  while he tried his best, it just did not work out that way! At the end of the book, there was a section called "Parky's World View" I really enjoyed it and actually learned a bit from it!  Like, did you know that "27,000 trees are felled each day for toilet paper.  Paper can be recycled only 6 times- after that the fibers are too weak to hold together." This was Episode 1 - So check out the series to see what Parky is up to next!  We are actually about to go donate this to one of our local Little Free Libraries, so someone else can enjoy!  FTC Compliant Review Policy:    The product(s) featured in this review were provided free of cost to me by the manufacturer or representing PR agency for the sole purpose of product testing. Let's go on an Adventure with Grandmasaurus #Review #Ad

Image
Well, we were sent an interesting book for review.   The Adventures of Grandmasaurus at the Aquarium Rescue Centre.  I think it gave me the feels of The Magic School bus.  You know how the teacher shrinks and they go on adventures and teach the class?  Well, in this book Grandma sneezes and transforms into animals.  In doing so, it makes the kids go on a treasure hunt of sorts to find her and while doing that, it teaches the reader of different animals.  Bonus points, a sheet at the end that tells the name, the pronunciation and a brief description.  I really thought this was a cute way to teach and have fun at once.  I hope that Grandma goes on other adventures and teaches us more soon!!!! The Mystery of Miss Hill's Missing Glasses #review #raisingareader

Image
Another great book was in our mailbox!!!!   We were sent The Mystery of Miss Hills' Missing Glasses for review and as soon as Savannah saw it, we had to jump on the couch and dive on in!   As we took turns reading the pages (She could have read the whole thing, but she was in a hurry so we took turns!) we were trying to figure out where the glasses would be found.  Savannah loved looking at the pictures going along and seeing the facial expressions of the kids.  Once we finished the book, Savannah wanted to go back through it again and look at the pages, the words, the illustrations.  It was a great book and one we will enjoy adding to our library!   FTC Compliant Review Policy:  The product(s) featured in this review were provided free of cost to me by the manufacturer or representing PR agency for the sole purpose of product testing. If you know my daughter, you know that unicorns are a big deal in our house these days.  Well, truth be told, if you know ANY younger girl, you know that unicorns are a big deal in the world!   When we were given the opportunity to review a new book, I knew we would not turn it down.  A book - Yes!   A unicorn - Yes!   UNICORN BOOK?!  MAJOR WIN!!!!!!! We all could use a little more LOVE #review

Image
I am a lover.  Always have been, always will be.  I love LOVE and love showing love and being loved.  When we were given the chance to review the board book, Love by Casey Rislov, I knew this would be a great one.  With the way the world is now... and the fact that everyone seems to be having babies, this would be a great gift to give.  ( My friend had everyone give us books instead of cards for my baby shower and I LOVED that idea!)   FTC Compliant Review Policy:    The product(s) featured in this review were provided free of cost to me by the manufacturer or representing PR agency for the sole purpose of product testing.
